Is it possible to disable support for VLV indexes?
Is it possible to disable the support for VLV indexes?
We have an application which tries to do VLV searches. We dont' have and don't want to set up any VLV index. Would it be possible to just disable support for them? Make ODSEE not advertise the control and just return "unsupported control" to the client?
thanks - mo
I think there are a couple of ways to go about this.
IIRC the VLV control ought to exist under your config suffix as a "feature". If you look at the documentation for setting up a VLV index, you should see where the VLV configuration objects exist. One common problem users run into with the VLV objects is that they are governed by access control. That is, the bound user has to have permissions to the VLV config object in order to use the control. So - assuming you are using a version of the server that still uses this design - you should be able to disallow VLV control use by any user other than the rootdn (Directory Manager).
If your application is querying the root dse and checking whether the VLV control is supported (and then obeying what it sees there) you might be able to change the list of supported controls being returned on the root dse. I'm not sure exactly how to do this since I don't recall seeing the supported control attributes in dse.ldif, but my memory is spotty on that. In any case this solution would rely on the good behavior of your clients.
Actually, if the bound user does not have permission to use the control, there might be an argument to make that the server shouldn't return the control as supported when the root dse is queried by that user.
The best solution is probably a combination of the two complemented (ideally) with modification to the client that prevents it from sending the VLV control. Since presumably the client is sending the VLV in order to accomplish a client side task, simply causing the VLV to fail may not produce the best results from the end user's perspective.

Is it possible to add support for new database type in Data Modeler?
Hi,
I see that Data Modeler v.4 supports different versions of Oracle, DB2 and MS SQL. Is it possible to add support for a new database family,
PostgreSQL for example? I hoped that RDBMS Site editor can do it, but so far I don't see any possibility to add XML files with metadata for a new RDBMS.
I did it previously for PowerDesigner were it is possible to add and modify definitions for new relational databases.
Thank you,

Is it possible to disable invoice for recurring billing (secure zones)?
Is it possible to disable invoice for recurring billing (secure zones)? It is possible to send receipts of payments instead of invoices?
If your user has fully paid for the secure zone, the invoice will indicate this when it's sent so really it's a sales receipt at that point. There's no way to have multiple types of invoice email layouts so if your client will never need to send out an invoice manually to receive payment and all your invoices are sent out after the order has been created and paid for, then you can just update your invoice email layout to reflect that it's a Sales Receipt.
You can update your email layouts by logging into the BC Admin area and goint to Site Manager > System Emails > Invoice -
Ora-29886 feature not supported for domain indexes ??
Could anyone tell me the reason for the following error
ora-29886 feature not supported for domain indexes
What are domain indexes ..??
Thanks in advance ..It would have been better if you posted the statement that caused the error.
If you are using something like MERGE INTO, it is not supported with with Domain Indexes. Workaround is to complete your insert with individual insert statements or drop the Domain Index before insert and recreate the index after insert
Domain indexes are built for specific applications (specific domain) like Oracle text, Oracle Spatial etc. So depending on what application you are running, you might be using domain indexes. You create domain indexes as you create b-tree indexes, but the difference is that you have to define the INDEXTYPE.
You can find domain indexes in DBA_SECONDARY_OBJECTS. Find the index on the table you are using, then check the definition of the index and see what it looks like. -
Is it possible to disable triggers for a session?
Hi,
Is it possible to disable a database trigger for just one session? If possible then pl let me know how this can be achieved. Thanks.
Regards
BalajiYou can't disable a trigger for just one session, no.
I'm not sure why you'd want to. Depending on the problem you're trying to solve, you could create a context, modify the trigger to check the values set in the context as a first step and just return if a particular value is set, and then set the context with this magic value in your session. No idea if that would solve whatever problem you're really trying to solve, though.

Cannot open a single project after disabling support for project professional 2007
We use SharePoint/Project Server 2010. I have a single project on the Project Server (PS) that fails to open in Project Professional (PP). The project is editable in PWA, but PP closes it as soon as it opens it (ie that's what the status window is
displaying, I basically get a blank screen in PP after "opening" the project, and when closing it does not have anything to save/check in). The only recent change I made was disable PP 2007 support. I reviewed several posts so here are
some thoughts: I am currently not using backups, so cannot restore, the server name is already in the trusted list. Any way to retrieve this project from the server (or directly from DB)?Hi Wwodzien,
It might be because of duplicate RES_OPTINDX values. Please install following KB and check the behaviour.

Note:- I would suggest you to test this in a test environment first.
Happy troubleshooting....

JMS - PI - IDoc scenario: possible to disable check for duplicate JMS message ID?
Dear all,
we have a scenario JMS - PI - IDoc. We are on 7.4 SP 7 AEX.
Once and again we get this error in PI Logs
com.sap.aii.adapter.jms.core.channel.filter.InboundDuplicateCheckFilter.filter(MessageFilterContext filterCtx)
Duplicated and already processed JMS message with JMSMessageID ID:414d512053415050523120202020202053f0f4852000fb39 and XI message id b0beffdbcee64c2605779eaacf27b335 detected.
We are currently investigating the error and it seems that the duplicate message IDs already exist on the JMS (MQ) side. The messages with the same ID reside in the same queue but have different payloads, so really are different messages
While it's certainly true that we need to get rid of those duplicate IDs in the long run, I'd like to ask if it is possible to tackle the problem from both sides.
My sender JMS Adapter looks like this:
Transactional JMS Session = Checked
Set PI Message ID (MessageID) to = GUID
Set PI conversation ID (ConversationID) to = No Value
Enable Duplicate Handling = Unchecked
Prefix Channel ID = Unchecked
--> Is there any way to tell PI to just ignore the duplicate JMS ID and continue processing?
Many thanks
Kind regards
JensHi Jens - Please have a look at the below note if it helps.
If you want the duplicate messages received from different channels (that is JMS Messages with the same Message ID) to be processed as a distinct JMS messages and not as duplicate messages, select Prefix Channel ID to JMS Message ID

10.10.3 breaks support for ATI video cards
The 10.10.3 update has broken support for a bunch of ATI video cards that worked just fine under 10.10.2. This is for my Mac Pro 5,1. Some folks also reported issues with breaking support for Nvidia cards, but have mentioned that the latest Nvidia beta drivers might work.
There is a thread that may be found here that has some details:
OS X 10.10.3 Update
and here (reverting back to 10.10.2 fixes things):
http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1864352
Specifically, my Visiontek Eyefinity 6 7750 stopped working, and another users Radeon 7770 stopped working. Yet, the 7970 continues to work. Reverting to the old ATI 5770 that came with the machine renders it usable. This is a problem as the 7750 only took a single slot, and the two 5770s eat up 3 slots so I can't use my USB 3 card, etc.
I remember this once happened before. I think it was with the 10.9.2 update which borked a bunch of video cards that worked fine under 10.9.1, and then were again made to work just fine with the 10.9.3 update.
All the 'standard' fixes have been attempted. Clean installs. Fix permissions. Etc.
Not sure why apple would seemingly disable support for these cards, other than by accident, I assume, much like happened with the 10.9.2 update.
Also not sure if just copying the correct driver from 10.10.2 might solve the problem until Apple get's around to fixing the issue. Has anyone tried? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!Hi, i am using dual Cinema Display 30 and 23 with a HIS ATI 7750 1 GB on a Mac Pro 3.1. Post upgrade from 10.10.2 to 10.10.3 my display eded unusable blurry. Therefore I have tried to replace the 10.10.3 kext with the previous 10.10.2. But it did not work out as expected. I managed to get some video output but no acceleration at all. Therefore the system is unusable. Therefore i full downgraded to 10.10.2 now.
Never the less it might be a good starting point for someone to get acceleration running. This is what I did:
I have to set the nvram variable kext-dev-mode=1, but be warned this will allow any unsigned > .kext to load, including rootlets, malware, etc.
I did this in order to allow me to modify the kext if necessary and to ensure that if 10.10.2 kext might be locked that they still be loaded and the computer will not be prevented from boot.
sudo nvram boot-args="kext-dev-mode=1"
sudo shutdown -r now
Post this i copied from my other Mac running 10.10.2 the file /System/Library/Extensions/AMDRadeonX4000.kext to my Mac Pro 3.1 running 10.10.3 with no proper video output. Basically i copied all ATI related kext from one mac to the other.
copied [MAC10.10.2]/System/Library/Extensions/ATI* ----> [MAC10.10.3]/System/Library/Extensions/ATI*
copied [MAC10.10.2]/System/Library/Extensions/AMD* ----> [MAC10.10.3]/System/Library/Extensions/AMD*
someone needs to do a diff here to identify the file with is necessary the only one i found with a significant change seems to be AMDRadeonX4000.kext
I forced to rebuild kext cache manually
sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions
sudo kextcache -m /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext /System/Library/Extensions
And reboot!
sudo shutdown -r now
After the reboot I had display output but no acceleration at all. Seeing the video out put made me happy but the system is unusable to to the lack of acceleration of the display. I am really looking forward for Apple to fix the update and to reapply support for the ATI GPUs hence it allows to save environmental resources to keep good products like the Mac Pro 3.1 running... -
Adding support for another Filetype in Acrobat 9.0 Pro Extended
Hi,
we're using Acrobat 9.0 Pro Extended and have the problem that it is not supporting an filetype which we want to use.
Its a bit strange because it is supporting Solid Edge 3D model files (*.par, *.pwd, *.psm, *.asm) but noth the 2D filetype *.dft we want to use.
Is there any possibility to add support for that?
Be happy for any help.

Disable Statistics for specific Tables
Is it possible to disable statistics for specific tables???
If you want to stop gathering statistics for certain tables, you would simply not call DBMS_STATS.GATHER_TABLE_STATS on those particular tables (I'm assuming that is how you are gathering statistics at the moment). The old statistics will remain around for the CBO, but they won't be updated. Is that really what you want?
If you are currently using GATHER_SCHEMA_STATS to gather statistics, you would have to convert to calling GATHER_TABLE_STATS on each table. You'll probably want to have a table set up that lists what tables to exclude and use that in the procedure that calls GATHER_TABLE_STATS.

Dsee 6.2, idsconfig, vlv index processing problems
Hey Folks,
I ran into a problem where the idsconfig script failed on creating 4 vlvindex entries. I had to modify the script to allow me to troubleshoot the problem. I ended up fixing the problem manually, but I'm still not to sure why it happened to begin with. It seems like a race condition, but i could be dead wrong. I thought it might have been the way I answered the idsconfig questions but I went over it quite a bit. This post may be a bit long, but I want to provide enough information.
- Solaris 10 08/07 fully patched (using smpatch) as of 1/10/2008
- DSEE 6.2
- idsconfig that comes bundled with Solaris 10 08/07
- All this is being done inside a logical domain (ldom) on a T2000 using a file image as a disk
The first thing I did was make the following modifications to the idsconfig script so it would not exit on error while adding vlv index entries, and also commented out the cleanup process so I could view the temp file created by idsconfig
Original Code from the add_vlv_indexes() function:
# Add the index.
${EVAL} "${LDAPMODIFY} -a ${LDAP_ARGS} -f ${TMPDIR}/vlv_index_${i} ${VERB}"
if [ $? -ne 0 ]; then
${ECHO} " ERROR: Adding VLV index for ${i} failed!"
cleanup
exit 1
fiSame code, after my modifications:
# Add the index.
${EVAL} "${LDAPMODIFY} -a ${LDAP_ARGS} -f ${TMPDIR}/vlv_index_${i} ${VERB}"
if [ $? -ne 0 ]; then
${ECHO} " ERROR: Adding VLV index for ${i} failed!"
#cleanup
#exit 1
fiHere is the full output of the way I used idsconfig to configure the directory:

I have read blogs about others running this script on dsee 6.x successfully, so thinking its a bug doesn't seem right.
If anyone wants me to test something or provide more info, i'd be happy to.

Edited by: Deejam on Jan 14, 2008 7:57 PMThanks for the response. Sorry about not including the logs. I should have. I have gathered the full logs during the time idsconfig was trying to add the vlvindex entries. I did see that there where a few err=32 codes on the ADD operations on the entries that I had to add manually.
Here is one thing I did notice when I was adding the 4 entries manually. In each of the ldif files idsconfig creates, there are 2 entries as in the following example.

objectclass: vlvIndex After idsconfig was done running the entry with the dn of "dn: cn=example.edu_passwd_vlv_index,cn=example,cn=ldbm database,cn=plugins,cn=config" was created, but the "dn: cn=example.edu.getpwent,cn=example.edu_passwd_vlv_index,cn=example,cn=ldbm" was not created.
This is weird because according to the logs (if i am reading them right) the add operation for the dn that was actually created seemed like it failed.

[DUPLICATE] Possibility to disable OSX Lion native full screen support?
The newly implemented (v14.0.1 as far as I can tell) support for native OSX Lion fullscreen supports makes it very useless in a multi monitor setup. The old full screen support let me use the fullscreen for Firefox (and not letting window widgets get in the way) and continue using other applications on the other screens.
Is it possible to disable the OSX Lion full screen support? Otherwise I think it would be a welcome addition to the next update.Locking as duplicate. Replies should be posted in the original thread, here:

Possibility to disable OSX Lion native full screen support?
The newly implemented support (in v14.0.1 as far as I can tell)) for native OSX Lion full screen support makes fullscreen pretty useless in a multi monitor setup. With the previous version it was possible to continue using the other monitors for other tasks.
Is it possible to disable the support in some way to actually have useful fullscreen support again, i.e. the way it worked before v14.0.1? Otherwise such an option is needed in my opinion.I've built a simple addon that does just that: reverts the old pre-14 Fullscreen behavior. It isn't yet reviewed, so wouldn't show in searches until approved.
Here's the direct link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/old-lion-fullscreen/. Bugreports are welcome!

Like many of you we bought my wife a new desktop computer. Vista with 64 bit encryption. I finally talked her into buying a Palm product and enter the 21st Century. The Centro was her choice. However when we downloaded the Palm software we found
