Is it possible to hide event locations?

In previous versions of iCal the location wasn't incorporated into the event title in weekly view. It's kind of annoying and adds visual clutter. Does anyone know of a way to keep the location in the info pane, where it belongs?

Of course it is. You can do it manually, or by using the Event Manager application ($5 from Digital Rebellion).
All events and projects in FCP reside in specific folders, called "Final Cut Events" and "Final Cut Projects". These folders are inside the "Movies" folder in your home, or at the root folder of an external drive.
Here is how to do it manually:
1. Quit FCP X if it is running
2. In the Finder, create two new folders at the same level of your events and projects folders, and call them, e.g., "Final Cut Events (hidden)" and "Final Cut Projects (hidden)"
3. Move any projects or events that you are not working on from their original folders into these new folders.
4. Start FCP X. You'll only see the projects and events that remained in their original folders.
You can repeat this process (always when FCP X is NOT running!) any time you like, and move events and projects in and out, as desired.

Not easily. Two possibilities:
1) If all the events have some common feature (eg you have included "XXX" in all the summaries), search for that feature then select and copy the found items at the bottom of the window. You can then paste them into TextEdit or a spreadsheet for printing
2) You could write an Applescript to locate the events and write them into a text file for printing.
The first one will probably give you what you want.

Can't get show/hide event of child UI Component to fire

I have 4 UI Components, each one inside the other (nested). If the "hide" event of Component 1 is fired, I'm expecting the other components hide events to also fire, but they don't. So for example:
+ Component 1
+> Component 2
++> Component 3
+++> Component 4
Is this the correct behaviour? If so, is it possible to do what I'm trying to do any other way?

Thanks for clarifying. I think I found a way to do it. Adding in each child component:

parentDocument.addEventListener(FlexEvent.HIDE, myHideMethod);
By rights hiding the parent component will cause a chain reaction, firing the hide event handlers on the child components too.

is it possible to hide an object on a masterpage dynamically?
I tried to define a formula in the script editor with FormCalc, but it doesn't work. I made a similiar definition within the content area and this definition is working.
It is a HCM form and the following formular is defined in the initialization event of the object:
if( Exists($record.DIM_EMPLOYEE.DATA[*].FIRE_DATE[0]) == 0 ) then
$.presence = "hidden"
endif

Well YES it is possible to hide an object of master page. Couple of things you can try:-
1. Use quotes around zero. i.e.
if( Exists($record.DIM_EMPLOYEE.DATA[*].FIRE_DATE[0]) == "0" ) then
2. Use fully qualified names for the object of Master Page and place the event in form:ready event of the subform instead of master page.
Also I tried a small example and it worked. Sample Hierarchy is shown below

Calling 'show hide' event from 'select' event

Hi all,
is it possible to call an event from another event?
Can i call the 'show hide' event from the 'select' event to disclose the selected row?
As a sidenote: is it possible to remove the show/hide button/link but to retain the show/hide functionality?

Yes indeed... the row information is sent... the 'select' event i'm refferring to is the one generated when you drag a viewobject as a readonly table to a UIX datapage...
It is generated initially as

Possible to hide browse sequences?

I have a few topics in my chm that do not contain browse
sequences. They are standalone topics that do not appear in the TOC
or index. When the help is called from the application, they are
launched in the right pane of the chm. The problem I have is that a
"default" browse sequence will still appear at the top of the chm
even though the topics don't have any assigned browse sequences.For
these topics, is it possible to hide the browse sequences from
appearing?

Actually this should be possible. What you would do is to
create a new window that would be used for your context sensitive
calls. Then when your developer calls the help, they specify the
window it should appear in. That window would be configured with no
browse sequence bar.

How do I stop Calendar overriding my Event location

Hi
When creating an event in Calendar, the software is quite 'helpful' in offering suggestions for the event location as I type.
However, if I don't like any of it's suggestions, or wish to override the suggested location, the software seems to stamp it's feet and insist on formatting the location data the way IT prefers.
How do I stop it doing that?
For instance, I am attending an event at the "Institute of Directors, 116 Pall Mall, London, SW1Y 5EA"
Calendar finds a very close match for this and replaces my location with
"116 Pall Mall
London
England
SW1Y 5EA
United Kingdom"
Apart from the excessive screen real estate taken up by those superfluous new lines, it doesn't include the name of the location - "Institute of Directors" - and it includes 2 countries - England and United Kingdom - that I don't need to know because I live here.
Can I not keep my own preferred format in the location field?

I just fixed this issue by turning off the location support on iCal on my iPhone. If all your devices are synced up that may be causing the issue.
After turning off location support I was able to enter the address I wanted. It gave me a choice to stick with my address or choose from the list of suggestions. After refreshing iCal on my computer it displayed the correct address.
Hopefully your fix will be that easy!

Is it possible to hide part of the line in webI line chart

I had webI line chart which is showing for 2 months data, and is it possible to hide the line for only first 10 days in the line chart and continue the line after 11 th day till the end?

@rajesh: I didn't understand why should we use Relativedate() function?can you please explain little bit more. Becuase the report has customer exit written such a way that if I run the report today it will show up previous 60 days
For example:
today is 04/06/2011
so in the report date column has values and shows up like
02/06/2011
02/07/2011
02/08/2011
04/05/2011.
So now I should hide/avoid/shouldn't show First 10 days. In example above 02/06/2011, 02/07/2011,02/08/2011.....like wise 10 days so till 02/16/2011 shouldn't be shown in the report. The beginning of the report should start from 02/17/2011 till 04/05/2011..

Better Calendar Event Location Suggestions?

OSX 10.9.1 - Calendar
When adding a new event in Calendar, it helpfully offers suggestions as I'm typing in the event location. In my case, I type in "Starbucks" (for real), it churns about for a second, and then offers 7 Starbucks locations. Top suggestion is in Nevada (I'm in NY), second suggestion is in Australia, then several options of locations that are in my metro area at a distance.
However, there are 2 Starbucks locations that are very near my home. I can't get either of these two to appear in the suggestions no matter what I try. Clearly, it knows my metro area, and in the Maps app, it pinpoints me with no problem. But I can't take advantage of this feature.
Is there any way to help the suggestions? It doesn't know what I mean when I type "Starbucks <myarea> NY", or "Starbucks <myzip>".

I've had the same problem. It's very frustrating when I type in the name of an Italian restaurant that is 30 min away and the address suggestions I get addresses across the state, across the country, and ITALY! I shouldn't have to add a contact record for every place that I need directions for. That defeats the purpose of having the event location. I could just pull up the contact and open the address in Google Maps. The Calendar event location field needs some work. Why can't it either offer more options or at least check the area around your current location first?

You can eliminate mounted volumes via Finder Preferences>General
You can reduce folder clutter by being neater!
But if you really want to hide everything on your Desktop, then download the free utility TinkerTool, and use this option:
To make the Desktop objects visible again, re-run TinkerTool and uncheck that box.

When i'm done building a sequence i want to prevent other engineers to save the sequence with the same filename (or version number).
Is it somehow possible to "hide" the save button and only use the save as function?
Or is there another possiblity to solve my problem.
The idea is to have a sequence called Sequence_V1.0.seq which i have build. When installing this in a factory enviroment I would like whenever there is a change needed in the sequence that the version number increases (manual action) (becomes Sequence_V1.1.seq). So from the moment you want to save i would like to only have the function save as. In this way you are obligated to fill in a new sequence name (original sequence will be read-only)
What would even be great if there could be a log of what the changes were

1) You could mark the file as read-only, by default you would then not be able to save over it. The user could make it not read-only though if they know what they are doing.
2) Another possibility is to lock the sequence file for editing (this is a teststand feature). Go to the Sequence File Property dialog, on the advanced tab, where it says Password Protection, set it to Not Editable and give it a good password. This doesn't however keep someone from saving another file to the same name as the locked one, but they at least won't be able to saved the locked file again without your password, nor will they be able to edit it.

If you set up the find my iphone feature on the iphone itself and it is on and it has not been restored, then you may be able to locate using icloud.com.
Otherwise, it cannot be tracked.
