Wrong forum. You probably won't get the best answers here.
Please help..Why you would want a Database server to be the client participant in a Form is beyond my understanding. You might want to restate what you are trying to accomplish.
For a report, you have some options, something like this could be pulled off inside a stored procedure
SELECT utl_http.request( 'http://your_report_server?args_that_output_to_file_not_cache' )
INTO buffer
FROM DUAL;
Where you don't care about buffer, since the report has been initiated.

I recently had to print information of a UDO which I have on a new form. I searched through the forum and found different solutions, but none that used the new "integrated" crystal reports viewer. So I came up with this workaround, which so far works great. I post it here for anybody else needing this kind of workaround, or in case somebody has a better solution, pick that up.
Here it is:
1) Create your Crystal Report file and import using the Reports and Layouts screen in SAP Business One. Give it a meaningful name and location in the menu. Have at least one parameter to take the DocNum or DocEntry, or whatever your primary key is. (Note: I know the import can be done by SDK, but as far as I can see there's no way to place it in the menu structure just yet.)
2) In your Add-On in the event ID 520 (print), call the following function with the Document Number grabbed from the open form:

Importing Reports and Forms from Oracle to Portals

Hi,
I have read somewhere that it is possible to import all ready created reports and forms from Oracle and view them as a Portlet in Portals. Is this actually possible and if so where do I begin??
Could there be an issue with rights, this is all new to our DBA and we have only just got permission to publish forms created in Portals to the repository. Any ideas??

Welcome to the forum. Please take a while to go through the FAQ to be found to the top right of the page.
Your issue is more to do with batch files rather than Forms. The only relation with Forms, as I see it, is that you will be using HOST/CLIENT_HOST to start a batch file with the file name to be deployed as a parameter passed to it.
You need to rewrite either a CMD batch file or a Powershell script to achieve what have set out to do.
For CMD batch files look up http://www.robvanderwoude.com/battech.php , or any of the other excellent resources available on the internet.

It sounds like your file associations are messed up and Reader is trying to open your .jpg files. Is this correct?

How to open an Oracle 6i Form from a button

I have a button on an order form that im trying to open the customer form from i am using the code:

Please ask your logon question in a separate thread.
The "cannot read form" message means Forms cannot find the file named Customer.fmx in the path where it expects to find the form. If you are running on a unix system, the file name must match upper or lower-case exactly, as well.

Can you open a report in Excel/Word desktop instead of the web pugin?

how or can you get a report to open in the desktop/full version of MS Excel/Word instead of the web plugin versions?
I can get the browser to open a report in pdf with my desktop adobe reader, but not with an rtf or xml/delimited desformat.
Currently I don't pass a mimetype when opening as a pdf, but I do pass one in the url when i am destypes of xml, delimited and rtf,
as this is the only way i have found out how to open the reports in word/excel.
I'm in the process of upgrading from forms 6 client/server to 10g developer suite, so this is my try with a web based system.
Does anyone have any suggestions, or where I should look.

What you could try is downloading the report to the client pc using WEBUTIL_FILETRANSFER.URL_TO_CLIENT, then open the locally save file using something like:

Can't open a Report in Forms

hi everybody
I hope all of you are fine.
Actually I'm now on training of learning Oracle Forms & Reports and I made an application and I put in the Forms a report to get the medicines info so after starting the Forms it loaded to Firefox Browser and after pressing on Report I get an error that tells "FRM-41214: Unable to run report" and I can't load the report.
actually I started the server and it's in Ready so it works fine and I can see the reports working from Reports Builders through a browser but the Forms can't see the report and it gave me that error "FRM-41214: Unable to run report". Other thing the OC4J is working.
The system that I'm working on:
- Windows Vista ultimate edition.
- Oracle 10g 2R, DB, Forms, Reports.
The default browser for Forms Builder is Firefox and the default browser for Reports Builder is IE.
Any help please to solve my problems I'll be appreciated

We are upgrading the application, ServiceCenter. We have reports that show our Response and Resolution Metrics. I have 2 set of reports, one for the old version and one for the new version. I need to combine the results of both reports into 1 and do calculations on the data from both. Can this be done with 2 sub reports in the main report that does the calculations? Can 1 report connect to 2 separate databases? I am using Crystal Reports v8.5. Is there any documentation on this or sample reports? Can any one please give me some guidance? Thanks

yangster thanks for the quick reply. I am not really sure about combining reports, so I looked into what you said. I tried to create a shared variable on the field that I need to share but that field is a running total and I get an error when I try to run the report "This field cannot be used becaus eit must be evaluated later." So I am not sure what to do now. Is there a work around for this? Thanks for any help.

You can use REF CURSORs to generate reports from a database package.

Opening & pre-populating a form from another form

I am designing a form with Designer 7.0 whereby the user enters data into repeating subforms. This data is used to populate another form which repeats according to the number of instances created in the first form. I am wanting to create a button on the first form which the user can click so that the second form is opened and already populated with the data from the first form (which remains open). I am unsure how to go about this. Can anyone suggest some script which would get me started?

You could also use OPEN_FORM(form_name,ACTIVATE,SESSION). This opens the second form in an independent session which will allow you to toggle between forms and commit on a single form only.
Creating independent sessions is usually appropriate for forms that access different tables and independent logical transactions.
The Oracle Forms Runform must be running with the Session option turned on when you use the session parameter in the OPEN_FORM call.
Dpending upon your requirement, you may use OPEN_FORM or as Bogdan suggested use the RUN_PRODUCT with ASYNCHRONOUS option.

Is it possible to open several tabs at once (with certain websites on the tabs) by just using one icon?

I'd like to make several groups of website tabs that would each open up by double clicking on a single shortcut.
For example: when I am going to do my online banking I would like to open a single shortcut, and then that would open all of my banking websites, each on a different tab.

Is it possible to open a csv into larger columns that display all the data that you need?

Is there a way to get a csv file to open into larger columns without having to increase the column size by hand. Maybe by opening a downloaded csv into a custom template, or to have it open so you can see all the text/numbers in the columns?

Maybe with a script you could do it in fewer steps, but there is a pretty simple way to get what you want.
If you create a template with a properly sized table for your data it's no bother to paste the standard table that the csv file opens into into a custom table.
Just open the CSV file in Numbers and open a custom template that you have prepared in advance. Select and Copy the table from the CSV file, Select cell A! in the Template, and Edit > Paste and Match Style. It is important when selecting Cell A1 in the custom template's table that you only click once on Cell A1 so that you don't inadvertently drill into the text layer.
That's it.

Possible to open original media file directly from subclip?

One thing I don't like about subclips is that there are occasionally times when I wish I subclipped a different part of the media file. Is there any way (some kind of menu option or shortcut) to select/view a subclip, and from there view/open it's media file?

FCP's biggest falldown has always been its media management. find clip/bin subclips etc have always been flaky (yes ,people,most of them on this forum, have found work arounds bless them!)
Why does apple not figure this out? is it some copyright thing with avid? who knows, and to probably 99.9% of apples FCP market who cares? in the meantime though , film editors will just chug along . dreaming of the perfect cutaway (if only I could remember where it was, I'm sure it was on roll078, just match frame to that shot...oh...well lets look in clip properties to find the bin....(5 minutes later producer asks "what are you doing?"...editor says "???

I think the binary file conversion was not done properly( you haven't filled bin_pdfx, its the otf_data ). OR, Use CONVERT_OTF FM and pass format as PDF. Check this document for reference: Opening a Smartform in Web Dynpro ABAP
