Is it possible to populate a value dynamically in a transaction variant?

Depending on the user, the field plant in IQ01 (Location tab) should be automatically populated.
I know it maybe possible with a user exit; however, is it doable with a transaction variant?
Any idea would be appreciated.

Is it possible to pass the property value dynamically to composite.xml from bpel?
For ex:

I will get a different $variable value every time to bpel.

You can use bpel preferences for that:
1.
In the composite add a property, for ex:

To get the value within your bpel process use: ora:getPreference(exam)
3.
Then, you can change the value in the EM:
Under Farm_soa_domain>weblogic domain>your_domain>soa_server1
Right click on menu>system Mbean browser>oracle.soa.config>server:soa_server1>SCAComposite>your project>SCAComposite.SCAComponent>processName>
Now, click on the properties attribute : you can see the exam property and change the value.

          You can populate dropdown values from webservice using the following steps. I assume you gave idea about custom controller.
step1:
      Create custom controller.Inside custom controller Bind input value then execute webservice.
step2:
      Now you have value node which is returned from web service. find thr size of value node.
After execute web service you can find size using the following code. create value node and model node object using the code.
Step3:

How to populate data from dynamic drop down list to the text field

I tried to populate data from dynamic drop down list to city field. I would like to concat data from drop down list.When selecting add button to add the item and select item from drop down list, data should be displayed in the text field. However, Please help. Hi Rosalin,
Loop the hidden table, get the values and populate drop down in each iteration.
DropDownList1.addItem("Text","Value");
You can use one more solution for this scenario. If it is a matter of 2,3 dropdowns, put three dropDowns in the form layout and give seperate static data binding to them. At run time make the dropDowns hide/visible as per the requirement.

Yes, Its possible which behaves as system CFL.
Design the form like cfl having grid, choose button, cancel button and edittext of find. When you tab on edittext on form open the CFL form and after load form fill the grid by Datatable using sql query. Write code for select grid line on click of grid. Write the code on choose button which retrive value from grid.

1. I created an information field called 'docURL'.
2. Added a rule called 'docDisplayURL'.
3. Selected global rule with Priority 1 and use rule activation condition.
4. Added a condition called 'CheckIn'
Selected 'Use Event'. 'On Submit'.
Selected 'Use Action', ' CheckIn New', 'Check In Selected', 'Content Information', 'Content Update', 'Search', Clicked Ok.
5. Selected the Fields Tab, Selected the 'Information Fields' in the Add Rule Field.
6. Changed the Type to 'Info Only'.
7. Selected the Is Derived Field and in Custom entered the following:
<$DocUrl$>
8. Now my rule 'displayDocURL' shows up.
9. When I go to an item content information I don't see the 'DocUrl' field populated. What could I be doing wrong?

Setting value dynamically in a field sitting within a af:query component

I have three cascading LOV (Site/Building/Room) and an input text field (Location) as part of a af:query component.
I want to populate Location field dynamically with a string based on the values selected in the LOVs like "%/<Site selected>%<Building selected>%<Room selected>%". If any of the LOV is left blank, the string should be adjusted automatically

I am hardcoding the id_inst_xref is the SELF JOIN? Can these be passed dynamically from
the INLINE Query which is invoking the SUB QUERY?

As shown above the syntax for using a presentation variable is:

Pass Container Element Value Dynamically

Hi Experts,
We are facing an issue with Workflows. Whenever I restart a WF that has already ended up in Error, I need to pass it Certain Container Element Values Dynamically as it restarts the same WF again with the same Container values and it again ends up in Error. Is it possible that I can change these values during Runtime.
I have searched few SAPNotes also but could not find some Solution. Is anyone has worked on this Scenario before please respond.
Is this Possible.. Because this is the only way how we can allow that background Process to work.

I have created a OAMessageChoiceBean and need to populate its values using a dynamic VO. This is required for me as the query for OAMessageChoiceBean changes ar runtime . For test i have written the below code in processRequest to populate the messageChoice but i get an error .
Sample Code :

it is true, the function can return component as type. This is more for the scenario, when you want to recognize some component based on some checks, eg.

return CHECKBOX_2;
so, the use case exists for sure. But of course the application itself is static.
where do you see a scenario for dynamic creation of components?
The only one component which can instantiate new components is the SplitCellContainer, and this is restricted to the drag&drop action from Fragment Bookmark Gallery. And this is again restricted to containers, as Fragment can hold containers as parent component. Of course the container content will be created/instantiated as well (I have coded example with ComponentManager in the Community SDK: Second Functional Application with SDK Components (Online Composition v.2) blog).
As far I know there is no function in SplitCellContainer which would "simulate" the drop of a Fragment today (perhaps worth an Idea on this?). Having that - the scenario would be possible. Today, this can be made partly - but the user would need to drag&drop a prepared fragment with the component.
Anyway, the problems will start after the creation - then it would be require to have also functions to re-position the new created component in some other container - this would be complex probably.
