Is it possible to show a custom message in a DVWP when the ListGUID or ListName is not found?

I've got a DVWP that uses a list as it's DataSource. I'm wondering if there is a way to make it so if the list the DVWP references is missing then a custom message is shown instead of the default "`Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot
the problem, open this Web page in a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible HTML editor such as Microsoft SharePoint Designer. If the problem persists, contact your Web server administrator.`"?

We can use jQuery to change the default message. Here is a example for your reference:
