    you will write some code in the controller to get the parameters and set them to the context.

    I'm new with Web Logic and Web Service.
    Weblogic version: 10.3.5
    SOAP Web Service with RPC/Literal message format
    Created a Web Service and deployed that onto Web Logic.
    Also managed to get the WSDL page. However, when i tried to invoke one of the method from a web browser, it gives me a 404 Error. Not found.

    I have a web dynpro component using FPM. The default window of the application is FPM_WINDOW which is an interface view of component of FPM framework. so I cannot get the URL parameters in handledefault of a normal web dynpro app which is not using FPM. How do I get URL parameters in this case through FPM? Thanks!

    I guess you might have created the application under FPM_OIF_COMPONENT/FPM_GAF_COMPONENT. For that add the pramaters to the PARAMTERS tab of teh application.
    Now, you can use
    data lo fpm type ref to if_fpm.
    lo_fpm = cl_fpm=> get_instance( ).
      CALL METHOD lo_fpm->mo_app_parameter->get_value
        EXPORTING
          iv_key   = 'PERNR'            "Application param name
        IMPORTING
          ev_value = lv_pernr.

    I have created a Web Dynpro App with a Adobe Form as the frontend. I have included the caf/eu/gp/api as a DC and implemented the IGPWebDynproCO interface. Next I created a Web Dynpro Callable object in GP and ran a test and received the following error:
    Result: Technical Exception
    Details: Could not create web dynpro callable object component
    Output Parameters
    Callable object implementation did not return  output parameters
    Can anyone help me resolve this? Do I have to make a manual entry in the HOST file? If so, what is that entry? Are there alternatives?

    Hi,
    For creating WD callable object you need to add following three DC in your WD DC project.
    In the Web Dynpro Explorer of the Web Dynpro Perspective, expand the node DC MetaData -> DC Definition, and select Used DCs.
    a.      To create a DC dependency, open the context menu and choose Add Used DC.
      b.      Select Local Development  -> SAP-EU  -> caf/eu/gp/api/wd  -> DC MetaData  -> Public Parts  -> GPWebDynproCO. For Dependency Type, select Build Time, Design Time, and Run Time. Choose weak from the dropdown list.
      c.      Repeat the previous step to define a dependency to DCs SAP-EU-> caf/eu/gp/api (public part external) and SAP-JEE -> com.sap.security.api.sda (public part default).
    You need to do one more thing like bellow.
    Select your Web Dynpro project and open its context menu. Choose Properties.
    1. Choose Web Dynpro References -> Library References.
    2.  Add a reference for library caf/eu/gp/api.

    The problem is, that I when I try to create a View for a Web Dynpro, the layout window reports the following error message:

    The requested URL could not be retrieved
    While trying to retrieve the URL:

    The following error was encountered:
    Connection to <ip-of-remote-machine> Failed
    The system returned:

    We have a requirement to integrate the xPD screens with Adobe using web dynpro java. The UI has to be completely Adobe and the xPD transactions would be triggered through Adobe.
    Is it possible?? Please let me know how if anyone worked on this.

    I'm in the same boat as you because I have no idea where to start either.  Right now we are just evaluating some possible solutions for our UI needs that our Business is asking for.  Originally I only heard about the Adobe Forms.  Then I heard about this Web Page Composer which could also provide us a way to display our iViews and other links in a more user friendly page.
    So learning how to display xPD in either area is new to me and I am just starting to learn SAP all together.  If I hear anything or read anything, I will share with you.  Maybe we can help each other out.

    Hi Zhihua,
    First delete all the cookies from your browser.
    Close all the internet sessions which are opened in your system. During your script recording
    Open only 1 session which you will be recording for java script.
    The above mention log is the cookies from the internet explorer.
    its of no use for the script you can even delete from the script.

    I want to configure buttons for a view. Display of technical information (right click) for UI element
    says:
    Application: /SAPSRM/WDA_L_FPM_OIF
    Web-Dynpro Component: /SAPSRM/WDC_UI_DO_ACC
    Window-Info: IV_L_FPC_CA_DETAILS
    View-Info: V_DO_ACCOUNTING
    Configuration Id: A56B0481584E314F46F1C5E908E8819E
    In SE80 no such configuration id (looks like a GUID) is found. What is
    the name of the configuration ID? How can I configure this strange WD?
    Other views have normal config. id's.
    Any ideas?

    Right click on the application name - in context menu chose create\change configuration, and then create application configuration.
    While creating your application configuration you will be prompted with a component configuration, click on create and then navigate to component configuration and then you can make settings for visiblity of ur reqd button.

    I am facing an issue in implementing excel download feature in Web Dynpro.
    Problem: I have stored an excel document in OAOR. I am displaying data on screen using ALV display in WDA.
    I will provide a button to download excel in toolbar of ALV. When user clicks on this button i need to pick the document from OAOR and fill that with my screen values and download it to users desktop.
    Please help me in this. Problem is when i am calling these classes c_oi_container_control_creator=>get_container_control and cl_gui_custom_container from my View's method they are returning error.

    You cannot use GUI classes and methods in web dynpro . That will dump.
    Instead you can use file down load UI element or..
    If you have the content in xstring format use ATTACH_FILE_TO_RESPONSE method of CL_WD_RUNTIME_SERVICES class.

  • Web dynpro application using workflow

    Hi all,
    I have developed a web dynpro application and attached that to the portal, so the user will login into the portal and will access the application. We have a new requirement now, when a user enters the data and hit save button on the web dynpro application, the workflow should trigger and should send the filled out (everything filled in) web dynpro application to his superior, the supervisor should be able to click on a link (which he should get through workflow) and should get the web dynpro application filled in. I am not sure how can I do this, so can you please guide me through.

    could I suggest perhaps that you have a good search of SCN - there have been multiple posts about this sort of thing in the past.
    for example : the wiki article

    is it perhaps that you do not use the UWL at your site? Or do you want to to send an email to the manager with a link directly to the approval application? The last case is one that I've come across many times before - it just means that you'll need to generate an approval task that is ended by a wf event and send an email to the manager with a URL parameter in the launch of the WDA application so that the app can pick up the details required to display and raise the WF event to complete the approval wf task.
    There are all sorts of ways of persisting the information in the form so that the manager can see it in the approval. You can use the workflow container, you can use a db table, you could even use a shared memory area (not that I'd recommend this for this usage). But this is more a case of how to persist information in a workflow and probably a better question (search first, it's probably been answered already) for the WF forum and not the WDA forum.
    Good luck in designing and building your application. Perhaps when you are done you could write a blog about your experience and further share how to do this with others.

    Once you create the input fields in NWDS you need to bind input field with context attribute to enable in the display screen.
