Is it possible to updgrade G6-2313AX keyboard to a backlit one ?

Hi,
Is it possible to upgrade the keyboard of a G6-2313AX  to backlit one ? I mean, do the motherboard have a connector for this ?
On other words, the up/down key size is ridiculous and difficult for gaming. So in case the baklit keyboard is not possible, can we be able to get a normal layout keyboard ( with the UP/DOWN keys with standard size )
Your replies are much appreciated

Hi AnoopAravind,
I understand your are looking to Turning a Backlit Keyboard On or Off. If you follow this document it should show you how to do that.

  • Upgrading a nonbacklit keyboard with a backlit one

Hi I am trying to upgrade my pavillion dv6t-quad core with a backlit keyboard, preferrably of a different color then just black. Since I got one that did not come with a backlit keyboard is it possible to do this upgrade? If so can you recommend a good site with reasonable prices where I can get the part? Thank you for your time.
    Cheers,
    Dragon

I need to know your exact model number. A few versions of the dv6 do allow a nonbacklit to be replaced with a backlit but only a very few models. The general rule is that you cannot. I believe the ones where it can work are in the dv6-3000 and dv6-4000 series so they are a few years old now.

  • Replace HP-DV6t keyboard with a backlit one ( like the HDX-16t's one)

I had my core i7 hp dv6t for a couple weeks and I love every bit of it except for the keyboard ! I really like the backlit keyboard from HDX-16t and i think it fits my laptop ! Can someone help me with this ? And if it works, where can I buy that backlit keyboard ?
    Thanks in advance

I agree ... backlit keyboard was much better.  Did you ever find out if you can do this??  I would love to know if possible and how to go about doing it.  Would replacing the keyboard void my warranty though?

  • Tecra M3: Change english keyboard to a german one

    Hi,
I have received a Tecra M3 with an english keyboard, though we are located in Germany. This in fact makes it a bit hard to deal with german special characters. Is it possible to simply exchange the keyboard by a german one? And, if so, how much does it cost?
    Thanks, Carsten

    Hi
I really dont know how much it costs but I am pretty sure that you can exchange the keyboard to German one. Service partner can order it for you. After that install German operating system and .. enjoy the life.
If you want to exchange it alone, be careful because of warranty but the exchange procedure is very simply and you can do it alone. If you need some help write gain.
    Good luck!

  • Possible to have two USB keyboards together?

    Hello there.
I have the USB keyboard that goes with my iMac, that I use for normal computer use and web development. But I'm also a budding music producer and a user of Ableton Live. I saw an article on how a guy modified his USB keyboard (by painting it etc.) to use with Live and I wanted to do the same.
Thing is, I don't want to keep on taking out my normal keyboard and plugging in the modified one everytime I switch between web development and music producing...
So I wondered if I could just have two USB keyboards connected to the computer and I could use either one when I wish (not at the same time, just one for one task and one for the other)...
    Is this possible? Thanks.

Sure, two keyboards connected to a single Mac works just fine.

  • Hello! Does anyone knows if its possible to change a US keyboard of a macbook pro for a portuguese keyboard. And how much it is approximatedlly. Thanks

Hello! Does anyone knows if its possible to change a US keyboard of a macbook pro for a portuguese keyboard. And how much it is approximatedlly. Thanks

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You will have to return the Mac and order one with a Portuguese keyboard, if you bought it less than 14 days ago.
If not, you will have to buy a new Mac (that's because some keys may not fit onto your MacBook Pro keyboard) or just set up OS X with a Portuguese keyboard but with US keys

  • When it will be possible to have the armenian keyboard on the iPad iOS6?

when it will be possible to have the armenian keyboard on the iPad iOS6?

    Hey Mantas,
Do not expect that feature any time soon. I do not even see that being a feature this year.
Considering all that is going on and required to be finished and sorted a lot more is/will need to be done.
In terms of what you can do I have done things like used the refer a friend form which you can style and use that to send emails out to the needed people. I have submitted multiple web forms with ajax etc as well.
You have the custom fields for the people and emails (if not you can add them) and you can use those to send emails off to people, you just do not have a workflow so your not pestered with it but the notification message is the one that goes out and can have a template applied.
So there is a number of things you can do to get that going along those lines. I have done a few variations of this on different sites.
Warning note though - Ajax submission for custom web forms has a total character limit (all fields) of 1024 characters, which is not a lot.

  • Possible to replace non-backlit keyboard with backlit one?

I have a w530 without the backlit keyboard, can I get a backlit keyboard and switch it over? Is the backlight integrated with the keybaord itself?

    Dear Customer,
Welcome and Thank you for posting your query on HP Support Forum
It looks like you are trying to replace the notebook keyboard with a backlit keyboard if its possible
We will surely assist you with this issue
As far as I know its only the top end models have that premium backlit feature. This is a Envy notebook feature and
we cant have the same backlit keyboard on a entry level notebook. You should also know that Notebooks are not open architecture like desktops, we cannot mix and match parts just as they can with the desktop PC environment.
We need to check if backlit keyboard feature is listed for your notebook in the service and maintenance guide or not.
If it is listed there is a chance that you can go for it. Its just that the motherboard has to have the ZIF connector for the ribbon cable that provides power to the backlight.

  • Create a keyboard like the japanese one?

    hi everybody!
I am a linguist and I am working with a quite odd system of writing, I have created a special font and now I would need a keyboard to write it.
The input method should be similar to the method to write hiragana/kanji, that is one write the phonetic spelling, and the computer offer a series of ideographic (taken from a dictionary, I think) match among which the user can choose the right form.
Ok, I have already created such an application with realbasic, but it would be nice if it were possible to put it in the top in the form of a standard keyboard..
is it possible to do somethink like that?
that is, it is possible to create a new keyboard with a japanese-like input method? and if yes, how can I do?
    Thank in advance!

    Hi,
Somehow, almost understand what you want to achieve, mostly, I think. But you really need to explain more.
Forgive me, but it sounds like you do not really know exactly what you want. (in term of programming)
What do you want to say by :
"Ok, I have already created such an application with realbasic, but it would be nice if it were possible to put it in the top in the form of a standard keyboard.."
(This is the part I did not understand)
Did you mean an input methode, like kotoeri for japanese under MAC OS X ?
Have you ever programmed for mac OS X (carbon or cocoa) before ? If yes, then this should be very close to what you want : take a look on the side of the accessibility API. There are already applications available that can substitute user's text input with other text. For instance, replacing :
YUME by 夢 (Hint : you need to make your application trusted)
Is is what you were looking for ?

  • Help: pb g4 15": change normal keyboard with backlit one

    Hi,
I've got a pb g4 15" 1.33ghz with a normal keyboard (no backlit). I'd like to replace it with a backlit one. Do you know if it is possible? Ok, I don't care about the ALS; it is enough to drive backlit with f8 f10 keys. I understand the my pb has no ALS sensor.
    Thanks for the help

    Hi Roberto
    Welcome to the Discussions.
Yes, it is possible to change the keyboard, go to www.pbfixit.com - where you'll be able to buy the keyboard as well.
I do not know how the F-keys will function - but someone in here should know...

  • Is there any MSI GE70 Keyboard Full Colorful Backlit?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but I have a regular MSI GE70, 17 in, i7, windows 7, with a NVIDIA Geforce and I was wondering if anyone know if steelseries or MSI is selling any MSI GE70 Keyboard Full Colorful Backlit? Just the keyboard itself, I really want a light up keyboard without buying a new laptop. I want to replace my non-backlit keyboard with a full colorful backlit keyboard.

    Quote from: bob515 on 29-October-14, 09:40:24
I think I have the older version. I'm not sure though, On my laptop, it just says GE70, I believe I got it around sept 2012? I forgot. So there is no possible way that I can install a light up keyboard then? :(. I don't mind if it's single color anymore.
    I will be perfectly honest.
I'm not certain. I cannot remember if the GE70's at that point in time COULD come with a backlit keyboard or not.
I WANT to say that they didn't. But I cannot say that with 100% certainty.
If you look at the barcode on the bottom of your laptop or on the box, it should say something along the lines of GE70 XXX-XXXUS for the model number I believe. If you could list that, it would help narrow it down a little bit.

  • How can I change an english/american keyboard to a danish one?

How can I change an english/american keyboard to a danish one on a Macbook Air?

Apple menu / System Preferences / Keyboard / Input sources.
Click + (bottom left) and in the pane that comes up, select Danish on the left, and click Add.
Of course that can only change what the keys actually input, not what is written on the keys. If you wish to change the physical look of the keys as well, get in touch with Apple and ask if they can replace the keyboard.
