Is it possible to use MDIS to import to hierarchy tables?

Tell me, please,is it possible to import records into hierarchy tables using MDIS?
The imported XML-file looks like this:

The field HIER in my XML-file contains delimited values to build hierarchy. I tried to import, but MDIS blocks the port with Value Exception.
P.S. I set MDIS Unmapped Value Handling option to "Add" to automatically add missing values to hierarchy table.

But while configuring mapping of fields of my XML-file to hierarchy table fields in Import Manager I found an option "Set MDIS Unmapped Value Handling" which can be set to Ignore (default), Add, Map or Fail. If I set this option to Add, it offers to "Add Target Node for Unmapped Values in MDIS Mode". So, I expect that selecting some node shows MDIS to which node it should add all new unmapped values.
The imported XML-file structure looks like this:

1. I splited HIER field into hierarchy using "Split into Hierarchy" command.
2. Then mapped HIER<Split Hierarchy> field to CODE field of my resulting hierarchy table.
3. Then for CODE field I set "MDIS Unmapped Value Handling" option to Add and chose the node to which add unmapped values.
4. Then I tuned matching fields.
5. Saved the map.
6. Configured port (of type Automatic).
7. Added XML-file to the port.
The result of import (using MDIS) into hierarchy table is that the CODE field is filled with hierarchical values, but all other fields are empty. And MDIS blocks the port with Value Exception.
So, I embarrassed by this: on the one hand, MDIS imports some values and even builds the hierarchy correctly, but from the other hand, the import doesn't finish.
Can anyone explain this to me?

Now wait, when the import is finished, check your site!

Yes you can,

This addition suppresses the display of a screen of the initial dynpro of a called dialog transaction. The addition AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN suppresses the first screen under these prerequisites:
For the initial dynpro, in the Screen Painter the own dynpro number must not be specified as the next screen number.
All mandatory input fields of the initial dynpro must be filled completely and with the correct values by the SPA/GPA parameters
If these prerequisites are met, that screen of the dynpro is displayed that is specified in the Screen Painter as the next dynpro of the initial dynpro.

Workflow notification on importing to hierarchy table

Hi!
I came on the following problem:
I use MDM Import Server to load some records from XML-files to flat and hierarchy tables. And I also want to receive e-mail notification with the list of imported records when import is finished.
So for each of the table (flat and hierarchy) I created a workflow, an import map and a port. Every workflow consists of the following steps:
Start-> Notify->Stop.
In the Body property of the Notify step I used variable %Records% to display the list of imported records in the text of e-mail notification.
But when I imported to flat table everything worked fine and I got e-mail notification with the list of records, but when I tried to import to the hierarchy table, the records from the file were imported to the table, the workflow was triggered, but I didn't receive any notification.
But when I used in the Body property of the Notify step simple text without variable %Records%, the notification came. But I need to receive the list of imported records.
How to solve this problem? Can MDM send notifications with the list of records imported to hierarchy table?

Possible to use JavaScript to Import Data from XML file to pre-fill fields?

Hi,
I have a dynamic fill-in PDF that I want to "pre-fill" internally in my company before sending out to users who will change any pre-filled fields necessary and answer questions we did not already answer.
We do not have LiveCycle Reader Extensions, but we can use Acrobat to import data from an XML document to pre-fill the named fields. Is it possibly to do this task using folder-level Javascript or some other method? I can look into this, and post my findings, but I'd like to know if it's possible or if I need to use a different programming language.

I am afraid that solution was for a specific client and I can't share it. If I get a chance I will mock up an example, but this wont be for a while. From memory it was just a straight importData method. This would normally fail silently in a non-certified form, but when the form is digitally signed/certified, it works without a hitch.

Using MDIS to import qualified tables

Hi, All !
I've encountered a strange problem - MDIS throws structural exception during import of data from xml into qualified table.
In MDIS logs I found this record: "Create lookups failed. Source record No. : -11, Error message : Invalid field values."
But if I try to import the same file with the same import mapping, using Import Manager, everything is ok!
Has anybody faced same problem?

Hi Alexander,
According to me, there can be 2 reasons of failure:
1. You have mentioned that your source file has 3 tables in it. MDIS can handle only 1 table mapping at 1 mapping. For mapping all the 3 tables at 1 go, you will have to look-up all the fields in the 2 tables to the Main Table. This will ensure that all the fields that you want, exist in the Main Table Mapping.
You have mentioned that you have done this for the Quailifer table, Kindly check it for the Look up FLat also.
2. If the above problem is not there, then kindly check the Map. I think, You have mentioned that the Map works with the Import Manager. The map should be perfect, only then the MDIS will be able to import it.
Now, Actaully sometimes what happens is,
The map is saved with a source file. After that it might happen that you would be using a source file which would have extra Tags ( Fields). That means, now the source file that you would be using might be having some extra tags as compared to the source file which you must have used for saving the Map. The Map becomes Out of Date. Perfom, Save Update ( in the Import Manager) after any changes made to the map.
Also, try creating 1 map for the current source file.
Configure the same map for the MDIS and keep the same source file in the Ready Folder. If MDIS does not gives an error and it imports the file, then the problem is with your Old map as it throwing a structural Exception.
Kindly check it.

Can we import multiple language descriptions in Hierarchy tables of MDM

Hello Experts,
I am using MDM 7.1 SPS4 and working on the Vendor Repository standard content.
My source file of Regions table contains data in multiple languages for each region record. All the required destination language fields have been mapped properly in the standard map. Import action is set to 'Create' for new records and 'Update Mapped only fileds' for existing records. Matching criteria has Name<English> filed defined in it.
However, after importing these hierarchy records, in data manager only the Name description of English is populated while all other language descriptions for the same record is shown in Red (i.e not populated with the expected data).
Is this a limitation of MDM itself or am I missing some setting?

steps for importing into hierarchy tables
To add new multilingual records:
1 If necessary, create the hierarchy from the current language layer Name field that contains the hierarchy information (e.g. using the Split Hierarchy command).
2Map the current language layer Name field and then Map/Add the entire set of hierarchy values.
3 Map the other language layer Name field(s). No value mapping is necessary.
4 Map the [Remote Key] field.
5 Record match using: (a) the Name field; (b) the [Remote Key] field (if the Name field was not value mapped); or (c) the combination of both.
To update the language layer of existing records:
Map the other language layer Name field(s). No value mapping is necessary.
Map the [Remote Key] field.
Record match using the [Remote Key] field and set the import action to Update (All Mapped Fields).

How to schedule imports using MDIS

Dear MDM experts,
Pls let me know if there is a way to schedule MDIS for imports rather than have it do it 24/7,e.g. need MDIS to work only at 6 pm everyday.
Pls let me know what parametr influences that.

Hi Ashish,
As per my understanding there is no need to create any scheduled tasks for MDIS import because even if u do so then u need to keep the MDIS in stopped mode.
If the MDIS is not in stopped mode then even if u schedule any MDIS import task at 6.00 am it will only run the MDIS but it wont find any files to import coz whenever u place any file in the inbound port it gets sucked instantly.
So for this scheduled task to run MDIS shud be in stopped mode or else it will import the file instantly.
Try creating a scheduled task to start the services of MDIS if this is possible then whatever files that are present inbound port MDIS will import.
But I dont think it is possible to schedule to start the services.

Apple can do nothing at all.
If you set up find my iphone and it is on and it has not been restored, then you may be able to track it or wipe it.
Otherwise there is nothing you can do but report it to the police and change your passwords.

Is it possible to use old Apple Flat Panel Display (62 watt power adapter) with a MacBookPro 13" Mid-2012 laptop? Would like to use larger screen when working at home. I have a mini display port to VGA cable and have tried to hook up the old display but it seems not to work. When I try to activate the screen on the old display-- a window comes up in the MacBookPro and asks me if I want to shut down the computer. What little I have read it that the MacBookPro had Thunderbolt and the old display may not be compatible? Any assistance would be appreciated.

This doesn't have anything to do with your problem, but it will likely cause other issues with your e-mail.
Here's my standard recommendation concerting the use of A-V software to deal with potentially infected messages:
Never use ClamXav (or any other A-V software) to move (quarantine) or delete e-mail. It will corrupt the mailbox index which could cause loss of other e-mail and other issues with functions such as searching. If you disagree and choose to retain the message, return to ClamXav and choose "Exclude From Future Scans" from the pop-up menu.
If this is a g-mail account and those messages continue to show up after you have deleted them in the above manner, you may need to log in to webmail using your browser, go to the "All Mail" folder, find the message(s) and use the delete button there to permanently delete them from the server.
To fix the corrupted mailbox index(es), highlight each one that was corrupted and choose Rebuild from the appropriate menu.

Is it possible to use the Study Cards feature in iBooks without the special new .iBooks format?

The all new iBooks 2 has been released today, with quite a compelling array of features for students. I've watched a few videos, among those the introducory video from Apple, and one of the features that appealed to me most is the Study Cards feature, which uses notes you've created to generate study cards you can practise with.
Now, I have a bunch of .ePub books, most of which are annotated and have notes. To my surprise (and a tiny bit of frustration) however, I wasn't able to find the button to activate Study Cards.
I've tried to make a book myself using the also newly released iBooks Author application, and found that with the new book it indeed is possible to use the notes.
Is there any way to make Study Cards available for .ePub books as well?

I was thinking, perhaps there's a way to import ePub files into the iBook Author software, and thus create an iBooks format that enables the use of Study Cards.
I haven't found an easy way to do so yet, though. Perhaps some authors with more experience could share their methods of converting their published books to this new format, so we can try to do it with our own (DRM free) ebooks?

Is it possible to ignore and not import JPG files when a JPG and raw file of the same name exist?

Is it possible to ignore JPG files on import? I shoot raw + JPG and see no reason to keep the JPGs; I shoot JPG primarily as a backup (I back all the JPGs up online to my smugmug account then delete them before importing the raw files), but they're also occasionally handy if one wants to get a quick print in the field. I know that one can set a preference to "Treat JPEG Files Next to Raw Files As Separate Photos", but even then they still are imported.
As an example, say I have this scenario (not on DSLRS, but on pNs cameras, sometimes a JPG but not raw is captured - I suspect this has to do with how the buffer is filling) with these files on a memory card:

IMG_0001.CR2
IMG_0002.JPG
IMG_0003.JPG
IMG_0003.CR2
When I import pictures from this folder, I'd like 2 CR2 files and 1 JPG to be imported. I'm even willing to copy the relevant files and drag and drop them onto LR's Library module. But even if I do that, all five files get imported. Thanks!

Mea culpa, Jim is correct! I checked my Windows 7 system with LR4.2 and I monitored the 'Destination folder' during an import direct from memory card to hard drive. 'Copy and import' showed in the progress bar until all image files were visible using Windows Explorer in the 'Destination folder.' Only after all files had transferred did the progress bar change to ‘Render 1:1 Previews.’ I started using LR1.0 on a Pentium 3 single-core system with Windows XP 32 bit, which I think is when I made this observation. Regardless, it is clear that LR4.2 is using a two-step import process. Thanks Jim for being persistent!
It still begs the question why some people are experiencing very slow imports, damaged image files, and other related import problems from memory cards? My guess (and it's only a guess) is that they have 1) 'Rename Files,' 2) 'Automatically write changes into XMP,' or 3) 'Include Develop settings in metadata inside JPEG, TIFF and PSD files' checked in LR preferences. It would be a good idea for anyone experiencing import issues to try an import with these three (3) options unselected.

I have a created a MFL to transform XML to Non XML format. When am generating a XSD out of this MFL am getting this Error:

Then i added the schemalocation attribute to the Import element. which looks something like below:

Also in SB console we can refer xsds from other projects but again OEPE doesnt seem to support that we will have to make duplicate copies of the resources in each project.It is not like that if you are using OEPE then you can not refer resources from other projects. Just what you need to do is that give relative path of the resource which is there in the file system. It does not matter that to which project it belongs. Yes, now with OEPE, you have to do this manually.

External definitions is for importing avaliable external DTD,XSD or WSDLs instead of creating them in XI environment maually by creating elements under datatypes,assigning them too Message types and Message Interfaces etc.Where as you fo for Imported Archives to import externally done Mapping programs like JAVA,ABAP and XSLT mappings but not define Mesage interfaces.
So you can create message interface import appropriate External definition into it.Later use it during interface mapping.Hope you understand it.
