Is it possible to use mod-osso for htmldb applications

We previously used sso_sdk for registering htmldb(1.4) applications as partner applications to avail single sign-on facility provided in oracle application server.
Can we use mod_osso for registering html db 1.5 applications as partner applications? If so, could you please provide me the links to the documentation on how to achieve this.

No, mod_osso is not quite ready for PL/SQL applications that share a DAD the way HTML DB does. We're working on getting mod_osso enhanced to allow that integration. In the meantime, you can continue to use the SSO SDK and the pre-configured authentication schemes in HTML DB. They will work fine.

Shooting photo's in RAW format crates pretty big files that will fill up the iPad's memory pretty fast if you shoot a lot during a (let's say) month long trip.
my idea was to use load the photo's to the iPad so i could view them and sort out any bad ones. then copy them over to the storage device so i can continue using my CF cards for shooting. I have an image thank for copying the photo's directly to the HDD but it would be so sweet to be able to check them on the iPad before hand.
any suggestions?

Adobe CC or any perpetual previous version allows you to install & activate it two times (on the same computer or other different one).
As per End user license agreement, only one computer can be used at one given time.

[CS3 JS SDK] Possible to Use HTTP URLs for Links?

I am attempting to use JavaScript to implement a connector from CS3 (InDesign/InCopy in my case) to our content management system. Our CMS provides an HTTP-based API. By using the HttpConnection object (from the Bridge code, see posts on "httpwebaccess library") I can access our repository using HTTP URLs and, for example, get an InDesign document or INX file (and the UI support in CS3 scripting makes it possible for me to build all the UI components I need without having to write a true plugin).
However, what I *can't* seem to do is create Link objects that use a URL, rather than a File, to access resources.
My goal is to be able to store in our repository InDesign documents that use URLs to other resources in the repository for links (e.g., to graphics and InCopy articles).
However, as far as I can tell from the scripting documentation and my own experiments, the URL property on Link is read-only in JavaScript (even though the scripting API HTML indicates it's a read/write property) and Link instances can only be constructed using File objects.
My question: have I missed some trick in the scripting API (or elsewhere) that would allow me to create links that use URLs instead of files (and having done so would InDesign resolve those URLs?)? Our repository does support WebDAV, so that might be an option, but it would depend on mounting WebDAV services in consistent places on client machines, which is dicey at best, given the weak nature of the WebDAV clients on both Windows and OS X).
Or are my only options to either copy linked resources to the client's local file system (or a shared network drive) or implement a plugin that implements my desired behavior for links?
And if the answer is a plugin, will that even work?
This is in the context of CS3. Has the Link mechanism changed at all in CS4 such that I could do what I want in CS4 where I cannot in CS3?

Hi,
It is not possible to use HTTP URLS in CS3. You will have to create a plug-in to use Custom Data Links.
I think it is possible to use HTTP URLs in CS4 as per the User Guide.

If I run the sp first time with param: N'94', then the following plan is generated and added to the cache:
SQL Server "sniffs" the input value (94) when compiling the query. So for this param using Index Seek for AK_Employee_NationalIDNumber index will be the best option. On the other hand, the query plan should be generic enough to be able to handle
any values specified in the @Beginning param.
If I call the sp with @Beginning =N'%94':

I see the same execution plan as above. The question is how is it possible to reuse this execution plan in this case? To be more precise, how
Index Seek can be used in case LIKE %search-string% case. I expected that

The key is that the index seek operator includes both seek (greater than and less than) and a predicate (LIKE). With the leading wildcard, the seek is effectively returning all rows just like a scan and the filter returns only rows matching
the LIKE expression.
Do you want to say that in case of leading wildcard, expressions Expr1007 and Expr1008 (see image below) calculated such a way that
Seek Predicates retrieve all rows from the index. And only
Predicate does the real job by taking only rows matching the Like expression? If this is the case, then it explains how
Index Seek can be used to resolve such queries: LIKE N'%94'.
However, it leads me to another question: Since
Index Seek in
this particular case scans
all the rows, what is the difference between
Index Seek and Index Scan?

all rows from the nonclustered index specified in the Argument column. If an optional WHERE:() predicate appears in the Argument column, only those rows that satisfy the predicate are returned.
It seems like Index Scan is a special case of Index Seek,
which means that when we see Index Seek in the execution plan, it does NOT mean that storage engine does NOT scan all rows. Right?

Possible? Using External Definitions for data type/message type definitions

i want to use external definitons in my own data type definitions. Is that possible? And if yes, how?
I imported many definitions via a mass import. Now I also want to use these definitions for further interfaces (than the imported ones). The most convenient would be of course to just use them as a custom created type. Can I somehow "convert" an external definition to a data type/message type?

The External defination which you has been imported that cant use in DT and MT but yeah you can use this in Service interface.
you cant modify that External defination if you want to do that then 1st of all modify it and then reimport it as an another external defination.
and creating service interface with this ED you can use it in your message mapping .

Ok I have a 2GB that I use a SD card with. The only place in my menu that I can find the Removable disk feature is under the memory card. Now that may only apply to the 2GB since the memory is so little. If it is a feature then it will be in one of the Main Menus. Just go thru them.Wish I could be of more help to you

I have a SSD drive that I have installed Yosemite on and have the following question:
I have an iMac with an external SSD disk on 250 GB that I have connected in a thunderbolt enclosure and have an internal hard drive on 500 GB SATA drive.
First I wonder if it's possible to have a dual boot on OS X and Boot Camp on my SSD disk?
But here comes the tricky part. I want to have my internal hard drive (500 GB) on my iMac to use some sharing to Windows.
So my idea is just boot to Boot Camp and use my internal hard drive, that I want to partition to two parts (one partition for OS X and one partition for Windows) to have the applications (like games/user applications) installed on so I don't fill up my SSD drive with all that data. I just want to have the SSD disk to boot in and use the speed for the Boot Camp system.
I also have file vault activated on Yosemite and want to have encryption activated on both volumes (OS X/ Boot Camp) so it's secured.
So is this idea possible to do or do I need to have all the user applications / games installed directly to my Boot Camp partition?

You can create a FAT/exFAT partition via Disk Utility on the 500GB SATA disk. After Windows is installed, format this partition to NTFS from Windows, and use it as Windows D: (or appropriate drive letter depending on your environment) and install Games/Applications. Be careful with the read-only HFS partitions which get drive letters assigned automatically. This partition cannot be resized using Windows tools or OSX Disk tools.
I also have file vault activated on Yosemite and want to have encryption activated on both volumes (OS X/ Boot Camp) so it's secured.
FV2 (and any other CoreStorage volumes) are unreadable in Windows. Only HFS+ volumes are supported by the Apple read-only HFS driver provided by BC drivers. Windows volumes require BitLocker encryption, FV2 cannot be used for such volumes.

So i want to call run method when new entry is added in the database . and this application is not like any asp.net form application . In form application we display data when programs loads as like your RefreshDataWithSqlDependency
function . But in my application my application will run (send IM) when any new entry is added in the database . As I need running application to achieve notification , what kind of changes are required?

Use Redis Cache for Multiple Applications

I did some searches and could not come up with a straight forward answer so I am hoping someone here can clarify this for me.
We have two different products that we have built in .NET that we host in Azure as websites. For each of these two products we have multiple clients. Each product and client pair has its own SQL database and its own website setup in Azure.
We would like to start using Redis Cache for the session of these products. Do I need to:
1) Create 1 Redis Cache and use it for all clients / products?
2) Create 2 Redis Caches and use one per product (redis caches needed = # of products)?
3) Create an individual Redis cache for each client / product pair (redis caches needed = # of products x # of clients)?

You can do either of the above. It would really depend on how much load are you expecting on the Cache
For separation and load balancing it might be better to have a Cache per Website
For a Cache to be useful it should be closer to the Web tier, so ensure that you provision the Cache in the same region as the Website.

In Flex 4 you need to set the backgroundColor and apply a skin for the gradient:

Is it possible to write plsql procedures for htmldb operations

We have several htmldb applications configured on our system.I would like to know if I could perform following operations on htmldb :-
1) Is there a way to disable/lock some htmldb user.If so, what is the API that needs to be used so, that a procedure can be created and executed at sql prompt rather than using web interface?
2) API to change password of a user.
3) API to attach a schema to a workspace.
4) Is there any concept like readonly users in htmldb who can only view the code but not perform any edit operations?

i'm assuming your user questions are in reference to users within the htmldb development environment. if that's the case, please find my answers below:

you can update an htmldb user's "Developer Privileges" by using the wwv_flow_fnd_user_api. it's technically not a supported api, but it's been pretty solid for years. the spec for the api's pretty well documented and you can get to that .sql file in your local install at $ORA_HTMLDB_HOME/marvel/core/wwv_flow_fnd_user_api.sql specifically, the p_developer_roles parameter of the edit_fnd_user is the key to this answer.
2) API to change password of a user.
also available via wwv_flow_fnd_user_api

no. i've just logged an enhancement request for this, though.

no, but this idea is already under consideration.

Dead lock detected in alert log for HTMLDB application

We have a HTMLDB application newly impletemented in our database. One day, I found a ORA-000060 deadlock detected message in database alert log. Our developer said that the application is only for users to query something and will not insert, update or delete anything. I have created a tar but still not found any problem cause this. Can anyone tell why this occur?

Please see if (ora-600 [12333] / ora-3137 [12333] Troubleshooting [ID 828123.1]) and/or (ORA-600 [12333] "Fatal Two-Task Protocol Violation" [ID 35928.1]) is applicable.
Did you try to bounce the database and see if you can reproduce the issue?
If you still encounter the same error, please log a SR.
