I want to generate jasper report in adf11g. Is it possible without datasource can i generate report.

I m getting some error if i dont use datasource then i m getting errot-- There is no document message.

Not the good forum to ask for.
I don't remember it is possible. Test it in iReport. Simply don't define any datasource in your template and execute it. If it is executing it may be possible to do the same with jreport librairies by calling api. If it is not possible in iReport, it will not be possible in your application too.

Can't generate reports either

I have not been able to generate reports using ARD 2.2. The only features in the Reports menu which work are the Network Test and Administration Settings.
All other reports show "Waiting for Report Data" or "Queued".
I have opened these ports on clients: TCP and UDP 5900, TCP and UDP 3283.
Any help fixing this would be appreciated. It's hard to know how to manage backup capacity without the info in these reports.

this problem cropped up for me recently also. I repaired permissions, reinstalled the application, deleted all Remote Desktop preferences (in user's Library/Preferences folder as well as System/Library/Preferences) and deleted the database at /var/db/RemoteManagement. None of these things allowed me to generate reports (of any kind), copy items to clients, or install packages.
In the end, i removed EVERYTHING related to ARD as described in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1111736&#1111736
I then reinstalled ARD again and I am now able to run reports, copy items to my clients and basically do the things that i used to be able to do with this application.

Is it not possible to print the Excel generated reports from EBS!!

Is is true that the Excel generated by XML Publisher is not printable from Oracle Applications. Does the printers do not have drivers to understand EXCEL format (which from XML Publisher is XHTML not binary .xls.) So for printed output we should only use PDF ??

Actually the Excel format generated by XML Publisher is XHTML ... so the print process would need to convert XHTML to Postscript (similar to PDF being converted to Postscript by pdf2ps).
But you question is still valid... unfortunately I haven't tried it ... anyone else?

Can't Generate Reports...

I have recently installed 3.1 Admin on my newish mpb and upgraded
a client to 3.1. Both are running 10.4.10
Firewall is off on both machines.
I can basically control the other computer, send unix commands and
copy files to the client.
However the client refuses to send report data when requested...
As far as I can tell only the "Administration Settings..." is the only
report that will ever return.
All of the other reports hang with "Waiting for report data"
I have given myself all privs on the client and where available I
click the "Regenerate Data" checkbox.
How can I coax clients to send data.

User confirm, generated report.

Using BI published, I created a report that generates and displays all incomplete records inside of the database.
Is there away to set a an (alert/procedure/trigger/confirm) that asks the user to confirm there transaction?
For example,
1. User generate report using BI Publisher
2. The data is displayed
3. Confirm ("Did everything display correctly?")
4. If confirm == yes then run some script
5. If confirm == no then don't run script.
Fyi: I am new to BI. If you have the any answers or questions, send me an email.
Or should I create a dataTemplate? Or this method is not possible?

Hi Scott, I already have the WCS and I do see the line that I am looking for within the events logs. Unfortunatly it look like I can't generate an authentification failure report and/or export the event logs so I can then parse the csv file for the error I am lookfing for.
In regard to the syslog, the user name that failed to authentificated doesn't seem to show up, therefore I can't generate report per user as what wer'e looking for.

How can we generate reports in OIM 9.1.0.2 ?
We need to generate reports for users between two dates to keep a track of what all resources were provisioned or deprovisioned and what all changes were made to user accounts etc.
As per my understanding, this in a single term can be said as "Auditing".
So my question is: How can we enable Auditing in OIM 9.1.0.2. ?
I couldn't find much on net, so I'm posting it here.

I'm actually a newbie and I don't have much knowledge of OIM.
I came to know that I can generate the above mentioned reports by writing and adapter and attaching it to a schedule task. I am aware of how to write the adapter and how the adapter is attached to the schedule task, but I'm not actually aware of what should I code in the adapter in order to fetch the required information. i.e. what should I code, that helps me to generate a report wherein I can find the provisioned resources to a particular user between a period of time.
I am just not clear with what the approach should be in order to proceed further on this.
Any help here would really be appreciated.
I'm sorry for asking such kind of a question, but I'm very new to this and couldn't find a way better than this.

Generating reports

I have migrated from windows to linux. I can not generate any report using the adadmin tool. I can relink executables, I can generate graphics. I can do everything else in with in the adadmin tool, I just can not generate reports. I simply get reports not generated. Any ideas anyone.

Hi, I still couldn't really understand how SRW.RUN_REPORT works eventhough I have read the Help from ReportBuilder.
For example, what does it mean by:
SRW.RUN_REPORT('report=MAIL_IT desname='||:ename ||' desformat=dflt batch=yes mgr_no='|| TO_CHAR(:empno) );
In this example, do I have to create another query called MAIL_IT? Do I have to append the command line with "desname='<name>' desformat=dflt batch=yes number='<char>"?
If so, what do these 3 lines mean?

How can I generate my own InDesign ePub file without the encryption.xml file?

My bookstore (B&N) will not accept my ePub file because it doesn't want the file encryption.xml included. How can I generate an InDesign ePub file, for my own books, without it? Is there a check box somewhere? I've searched through the ePub export box and the file info boxes—no luck.
Error message from B&N's PubIt.com:
We have found a file name called encryption.xml within your ePub file container, which means that part of, or all of, your file is encrypted. We do not accept any encryptions within ePub source files. Upon closing this message, please remove the encryption.xml file from your ePub, and you may attempt to upload your ePub file again.
If you wish to apply DRM to your title, go to Section 4, question H and select Yes. PubIt! will apply DRM to your title after you have uploaded your ePub file without encryption.

Unfortunately you will find the option to uncheck "Embeddable Fonts" within ID CC 2014 only if you are creating an ePub with reflowable layout, but not if you are creating a "fixed layout" ePub.
I went with the suggestion of the eCanCrusher and was pleasantly surprised how easy to use this free tool is. You basically just drag your ePub over the icon of the App and it creates a folder in which you find the encryption.xml within the META-INF folder. Once you erased it you drag the folder over the icon of the App and through this you will get a new encryption-free ePub which now passes iTunes Connect Book Proofer test.
But then - opening the ePub without it's encryption within iBooks (on ipad) the text has moved, spaces between words are gone for no reason, words are even sticking into each other - it looks unacceptable! It does look OK on the iBook desktop app, however.
My solution was to change the font from Myriad to Verdana. I had changed the fonts before, because - whatever font I had used - it's reproduction on the ipad was messed up, and Myriad was the first one that I tried that looked alright, though, not so much after removing the encryption.xml. Unfortunately everything changes when you change fonts within a fixed layout ePub and all line breaks have to be revised now...
I also tried to remove the embedded fonts from inside the ePub, like someone else suggested, but that didn't help with the Book Proofer. It's really the encryption.xml that needs to be removed.
I wish that I now finally can submit successfully to Apple and wish that Adobe would have a better relationship with Apple to solve issues like that.

Reports in Character Mode - Can I generate a PDF?

Hi, i'm working with Forms 6i in Character Mode. Forms and Reports are in Unix Server.
Now, all the forms call the reports like this:

"Sh Imprime" is a JOB, it's redirect the output to the printer.
I need, in character mode, Run the Report to a PDF, ¿It can be possible?
I don't wanna create the .lis, i wanna run the report and generate a PDF.

I can't generate a PDF, but if the form call the report in "BITMAP" mode and non character without archive.prt, i'ts generates a PostScript in UNIX.
Later, I transform the Ps to PDF, with ghostscript PS2PDF.

my question is if both applications can generate xml, do they require xi to exchange messages or it can connect directly.
how do they communicate? Is the correct?

Proxy and interface generation can be used in two ways:
- XI runtime and communication by Integration Server
- Web Service Runtime
Currently, Web Service Runtime can only be used for synchronous communication. You can define a web service and make a point to point connection without using the Integration Server.
I'm pasting a help document on this:
Point-to-Point Connections
If two communicating ABAP proxies don't require any of the services that are provided by the Integration Server, you can use the logical port to switch to the Web service runtime and thereby accelerate the rate of message exchange. In addition to the logical port, you also require a virtual interface and a Web service, which has been released in transaction WSADMIN for the generated server proxy. To address the receiver at the logical port, create an HTTP destination to the released Web service and enter the destination in the logical port.
The only other difference between the programming models is the protocols that are available. Because the XI Runtime supports Exactly Once In Order quality of service, there is an asynchronous protocol available that enables you to set the serialization context. You access the protocol the same way in both cases: Using the GET_PROTOCOL method of the proxy, you get a protocol instance that provides the required attributes and methods for the protocol. If the active runtime does not support the protocol, an exception is triggered.
As illustrated above, you can switch from XI communication using ABAP proxies to communication using Web services. However, the reverse is not possible because message interfaces support only a subset of the range of WSDL commands. For example, the XI protocol expects a predefined structure for fault messages whereas a fault message can have any structure in WSDL.
In addition to a point-to-point connection using the Web service runtime or a connection using the XI Runtime, there is also a third option. Since the Integration Server can process SOAP messages, you can also call a Web service by using the Integration Server. The Integration Server receives the SOAP message from the caller and forwards it to a receiver in accordance with the configuration in the Integration Directory (here, too, only synchronous calls are currently possible). Therefore, the receiver does not have to be a proxy. Because you can use the services of the Integration Server for this Web service call, it is known as an enhanced Web service. The following steps are required to define an enhanced Web service:
1. To be able to generate a WSDL description for the caller, you require a message interface. This can be either an outbound or inbound message interface. The message interface is not necessarily required for further configuration because it describes only the signature for the caller.
2. In the Integration Builder for configuration, call the menu Tools -> Define Web Service. You create a WSDL description by entering the following details in the wizard:
The address of the Integration Server or another Web server that is to receive the SOAP call
The message interface from the first step to publics the call signature via the WSDL document
Details about the sender of the SOAP message (party, service and outbound interface)
When the Integration Server receives the SOAP message, it requires these details to evaluate the configuration data. You enter the details about the sender in logical routing or interface mapping and in the colaboration agreements.
3. The caller can use the generated WSDL description to generate a client proxy and then send the SOAP message to the Integration Server by using the Web service runtime. You configure the receiver for the SOAP message on the Integration Server.

You can accompany a proforma invoice while sending the goods to the ship-to party.
