Is my iPhone a Verizon or a ATT?
I bought my iPhone in France.
How can I know if it is a Verizon or ATT? I need to know because i want to change some parts

The phone is the same as a "AT&T" phone (GSM and not CDMA which is Verizon).

I purchased an iPhone 4S ala AT&T from the online Apple store but was considering swapping it for an iPhone 4 Verizon. There is an Apple store in my area. Can they swap it out for me? Do I have to go through the online store? How much would such a swap cost me? Is there a backlog for 4S Verizon iPhones? Any and all help will be deeply appreciated.
You have 30 days to return it. In the past, doing so at your local Apple Store has not been a problem, but recently, there have been reports of Apple telling customers they must return it through the online store if it was purchased online. I can't vouch for the universality of this policy (if it is a policy). It certainly can't hurt to go to your local Apple store and ask. As for backlog, there may be a wait, since it's still early in the launch process. Again, you'll have to ask.
Just curious... Why are you considering switching? Coverage is the only real reason to do so IMO. You will lose the ability to talk and use 3G data at the same time and your 3G data speeds will be (theoretically) lower on Verizon than AT&T since AT&T has pretty much rolled out HSPA+ everywhere now. -
I Gave my verizon iPhone 5s to someone with att account. Phone was cleared but they cant Activate it. What needs to be done? I upgraded to 6s. Thanks

Does Apple make different iPhones for T-Mobile and ATT?
Here is the question, Will a T-Mobile phone have fewer dropped calls than an ATT phone under similar conditions, Both iPhones each having a T-Mobile simm card in each? The ATT iphone was a 4s and the proposed T-Mobile iPhone 6 plus.
Here is our story, In May 2014 , we moved to the metro Denver/Boulder area we arrived with iPhones 4.S purchased from ATT but had switched service to T-Mobile before our move. The cell phone service was unsatisfactory with a number of dropped calls. so we switched to iPhone 5s from Verizon .
Now we are interested in buying a iPhone 6 plus each for me and my wife so we are considering a T-Mobile iPhone 6 plus because of their deals however, I am suspicious of their service.
Today I went to the T-Mobile store and relayed our experience with the ATT phones/T-Mobile simm cards. They assured me that the problem was with the ATT phones and not with T-Mobiles service.

I have three iphones. my computer won't recognize my iphone 4 verizon, but it will recognize my iphone 3s and my iphone 4 att. Why won't it recognize my iphone 4 verizon?

My apps store will not go online with verizon network, but on wifi it works. I am on an iphone 4, verizon. I tried to do a complete, backup and restore on the phone 1 day before i noticed this problem, The backup finished but the RESTORE would fail I had an error, could not access Apple server ( some server name I cant remember).
I have plenty of space available on the iphone,
8gb free,
ios version- 6.1.3 ( 10B329)
carrier - Verizon 14.0
Modem Firmware - 3.0.04

I tried doing my backup restore on the same computer as I once did a year ago. and THis time I cant do the restore on the iphone.
computer osx is 10.5.8
itunes version 10.
I do not wish to go to ios 7 at this time.Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Basic troubleshooting is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the issue continues, contact the carrier to troubleshoot the network connectivity issues. -
My main PC with my Itunes Library just crashed. I still have all my music on Apple TV, Ipod Touch (Gen 2), and Iphone 4 (verizon). How can I get everything set up on a new PC and working ?

Number one - that person has given you false information...the Apple store genius bar supports all Apple products whether in or out of warranty. Checking is free, service on an out of warranty item is not free.
Try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.
Since you show that you have iOS 7.0.3 you might want to update that iOS to 7.0.4...plug the iPhone in so you are on a solid power source, then while on a WiFi go to Settings > General > Software Update and update to 7.0.4. -

Well, you managed to find this support forum didn't you and you have an internet connection don't you? Then if you have all these things, go and find the number by going to the Verizon website and it should not be hard to find the number.
As for speaking English, this is not really our problem and it is surely something that you should have thought about before buying the phone in the first place.
You also need to know that Verizon in the US is a cdma operator and if you purchased an iPhone 4s, then it should not be locked. The Verizon 4s comes with a sim card tray that should be unlocked out of the box for use internatinoally on gsm networks, so all you should need to do is open the sim card tray and insert a sim card and you should pick up the local gsm network.
A cdma phone does not actually use a sim card, so there would be no original sim card with the phone because when it is used in the US it will pick up the Verizon cdma network without a sim card. The sim card is only for use on a gsm network which will not work in the US, but is designed to work outside the US. Open the sim card tray and insert your own local sim card and the phone should work and should not be locked.
Other than this, if you purchased the phone in the first place, it is the responsibility of the previous owner to cancel the Verizon contract. This is nothing to do with you, so contact the seller and ask them.
Other wise, go to the Verizon website and look up the number and call them. As they are the phone company, ultimately, they are the only ones who can help you. -

I created a new contact on my iPhone and a different one in my calendar on the MB. Connected iPhone to the MB and synched/backedup. However, I can't find my iPhone contact in MB AddressBook and vice versa. Did the backup work? I cannot afford to lose my calendar, contacts, etc when I get my new iPhone 5. thanks!

IPhone 4 (Verizon) Screen burn-in
I noticed on my iPhone 4 (Verizon) that part of the screen (from the lower left corner to the top right corner) has what looks like a gesture burn-in/blemish no matter how I try to clean off the touch screen but it would not remove.
Im not sure if its from an App/Game I was using but I'm curious how it could burn-in/blemish like that? is there a way to get that repaired?

The 4G LTE SIM card in your device contains information about your plan, device and more. You can set a SIM PIN so others won’t be able to access that information if your SIM card is removed from your device.
If you remove your SIM card and insert it another device (e.g., when you upgrade to a new device), you’ll be asked for the SIM card PIN. You can find your SIM card PIN in My Verizon if you’ve forgotten it. Or, if you’ve entered your SIM card PIN unsuccessfully 3 times, you’ll need the PIN Unblocking Key (PUK) to unlock your SIM card again. After using the PUK, you’ll need to create a new PIN for your SIM card if you want to secure it again.
To locate the SIM PIN / PUK numbers for your 4G LTE SIM card:
Navigate to the Overview page in My Verizon.
Click My PIN and Unblocking Key (PUK) under About My Device.
Your default PIN and PUK will be displayed in a pop-up window.
Click Close when you’re finished to return to the My Verizon Overview page.
You’ve successfully located your SIM PIN and PUK. -

How do you update icloud with contacts transferred to Iphone by Verizon? The only contacts that show up in icloud are the ones I entered myself to the phone.
You'll need to copy them to iCloud in order to see them on your PC. To do this, do the following:
Go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (they will still be in iCloud).
Download the app My Contacts Backup. Use this to backup the remaining contacts on your phone (from Verizon) as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to yourself. Confirm that you have received the email.
Go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts back to On.
Open the My Contacts Backup email and tap the attachment to import the Verizon contacts back to your phone. They should now be in iCloud, and appear on your PC. You may see duplicate contacts on your phone because you are still viewing both the contacts from Verizon as well as the copies now in iCloud.
Open Contacts on your phone and tap Groups, tap the Groups that were imported from Verizon so they are unchecked and tap Done. This will hide them from view and illiminate the duplicates. -

You cannot unlock the CDMA side of your iPhone. Verizon does supposedly unlock the GSM SIM slot for international use after you have been a client in good standing for a certain period. You would need to talk to Verizon about that - the are the only ones who can help you with that.
