Is ServletAuthentication.login(userName, password, req, res) transmit data to server after encrypting?

Hi,
May I know that the below method is using any encryption before transmitting data to the server end? Need to know whether its passing plain text to the server end as we call the method using plaintext for username and password.
int rc = weblogic.servlet.security.ServletAuthentication.login(userName, password, req, res);
Thank you.

I had a problem once, where the authentication server only allowed internal IP addresses to be authenticated. Do you have any kind of those restrictions?

  • Unable to connect to the MKS: Login (username / password) incorrect

    Hello everyone, my first post.
Several months I've been trying to solve a problem with VMWare Server Remote Console 2.0
When I try to open the remote console of any machine I have I get the following error:
Unable to connect to the MKS: Login (username / password) incorrect
Not to do and not understand why. If anyone can help I would appreciate that.
    Thank you all.

    There's a quick fix here.
Just a guess, but I think it has something to do with computers not being on a domain.  I'm logged into my local Windows 7 system using the same username/password as my domain user, and I connect to network resources using that.  To spite the fact that my computer is not on the doman, I can see in the VMWare status window that it's using DOMAIN\user instead of just the user to start the VM.  Perhaps when the VMWare services auto-start the domain hasn't been authenticated to yet, hence the account is not valid.
    Original text from that site:
Today I stumbled upon an issue in VMWare Server 2.0 problem today on a client’s server. I could log into the web administration console of VMWare Server, and I could manage the VMs from there without a problem.
The issue came when I tried to open the console window on one of the VMs from within the VMWare admin console. The Console window opened, but after a few moments I saw: “Unable to connect to the MKS: Login (username/password) incorrect”
I tried creating a desktop shortcut for the VM (from the VM’s summary pane), but still ran into the same problem.
Shortly after unsuccessfully googling the error, I discovered the solution myself. I simply restarted the following Services:
    – VMWare Authorization Service
    – VMWare Server Web Access
(In the process it restarts another one or two services, but does not interrupt any active VMs).
After the service restart, the VM console windows opened without any problems.

    Hi,
Even though it is not related to Oracle, but i assume that all you are aware about linux.

  • Conference link with login and password included

    Hi,
I have been trying to find a way to make Adobe Connect send meeting invitation e-mails with login and password included in the link - unfortunately to no avail.
Does anyone know, if it's at all possible to do it and if so, how it's done?
I'm still on a trial version, but I've been assured, that it shoudn't be a problem.
Thanks in advance for any hints!
    Kamil

OK, I played with it and here is how I got it to work:
    Appending the URL:
The URL would need to be appended with /?login=username&password=password. The "api/xml?action=" string was incorrect. I verified that this does work.
The full URL would look similar to this: http://realeyesconnect.adobeconnect.com/bestroomever/?login=myusername&password=drowssap
The login can also be done programmatically. You would need to do the following steps to get the log-in to be automatic.
Log the individual into the server:http://YourServerURL/api/xml?action=login&login=username&password=password
Should return a value of OK
Get the BREEZESESSION cookie for the user:
    http://YourServerURL/api/xml?action=common-infoShould show a value similar to this:<cookie>na3breezr59qzu2pp2qy4zdm</cookie>
Log the user in to the room with the cookie:http://YourServerURL/RoomLink/?session=na3breezr59qzu2pp2qy3zdm
Guest names can also be added to the url link. These options are described here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/connect/9.0/webservices/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11a171dd2d4-7 ff4_SP1.html

  • Auto_master, mounting afp shares without username/password in plain text?

    Hi,
i'm trying to mount afp-shares from a Synology Diskststation and an Airport Time Capsule via the automountd.
I've modified the /etc/auto_master as follows:
    # Automounter master map
    +auto_master            # Use directory service
    /net                    -hosts          -nobrowse,hidefromfinder,nosuid
    /home                   auto_home       -nobrowse,hidefromfinder
    /Network/Servers        -fstab
    /-                      -static
    /Synology               /etc/auto_afp   -nosuid
    I've created the /etc/auto_afp:
    iTunes -fstype=afp afp://"Username":"Password"@DiskStation.local/iTunes
    Data -fstype=afp afp://"Username":"Password"@AirPort.local/Data
Providing Username and Password works fine, but is there a way to make this work without the Username and Password in plain text?
    Thank you.

An applescript application set as a user login item should be a better choice.
I'm just about to work this out for an SMB mount of a users Windows home (augmented AFP homes are breaking preventing the 'Mount UNC path' option in the AD plugin).
Post back if you still want info.

  • How do you login to OEM - What is the username/password?

    Hi everyone:
I installed Oracle9i Application Server on Windows 2000. The install was successful and I was able to install the database infrastructure as well as the complete options (forms, reports, portal, wireless, etc.) options for the application server. I tried to logon to the Enterprise Manager Website to change some settings in my database but could not log on. I get the welcome screen (connection is fine with the default port settings) but it asks me for a login username and password. I tried the traditional sys, system but I get no where. What does the defualt installation assign in order to gain acess to the OEM website?

    Hi Jafar,
I too facing the same problem. My enterprise manager connected with sysman/oem_temp after that i changed the password. From the OEM when i click monitor 9IAS, its asking for the network password in the browser.
Please let me know when u find a solution. Thanks in advance. [email protected]

  • Trying to pass Login username and password from a non-Oracle Form

I have a form that I am trying to use to pass a login username and password to an Oracle form. The problem is I know Oracle 10g web reports can take login parameters in a URL, but I can't seem to figure out how to encode/hide it and have Oracle read it. I want to be able to hide the username and password (obviously for security) and I also want to be able to pass special characters... does anyone have suggestions? It seems even in Oracle forms there are some issues passing login info because I have built in parameter forms... I have given myself quite a headache either way! We are trying to upgrade from an old, old version of forms and reports and are trying to use as much orginal code as possible. It all works if I pass plain text user name and password... any help would be sooooo appreciated. By the way on the Oracle side I am still pretty much an infant developer... please talk slow and use simple words... ;-p
    Thanks again for any help!

  • IPhone deploy gets Login Error (Invalid username/password).  Android works

Hi, we're developing an ADF Mobile app on JDeveloper 11.1.2.3 which does initial authentication against Weblogic.
The login & app works fine on Android, but fails when we deploy the same app to iPhone (iOS 5.0.1, but also 5.1, 6.0 & 6.1 in the Simulator).
    Specific message is :
    Login Error
Invalid username/password. If the problem persists, please contact your system administrator.
It's definitely on the network and reaching the login server, because when we shut down the server or make the network unavailable, the message reports "The login server is not reachable"
All I can think is it's possibly encrypting the password differently within iOS.
Not having much luck on Google or other searches, so any thoughts are appreciated.
    Thanks
    Peter

I found a bit more information in the Weblogic Managed Server logs proving the login request reaches the server, but gives this error. Not much luck on google so, if this rings any bells for anyone thoughts are appreciated.

  • How to check if the username/password can login?

    Can I check if a username/password can login a db in pl/sql?
    e.g. I have a sid @server1 and username/password as user1/password1.
Is there any function in pl/sql to check if user1/password1 can login server1?
    I am using Oracle 8.1.6.
    thx

if you are looking for a customized validation, you could use triggers. You can write triggers against database events such as
    DATABASE LOGON event.
CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER <trigger name>
    AFTER LOGON on DATABASE
    BEGIN
. /* your customized validation goes here */
    END;

  • JAAS/Tomcat - providing more login information than just username/password

Sorry if this is a vague question or that I seem lazy, but I have been asked to say if an easy solution is available by the end of the day so I thought I would ask some of the experts!
I currently have a tomcat application which is protected by basic FORM protection with user name and password held within the database.
This application is to be rolled out and accessed by multiple clients, non of which should have access to each others data.
All of this is in place and a username is currently associated with a client. However we have been asked if the login can be changed so that the user logs in as
client-name/user-name/password for two reasons - firstly to avoid the possibility of the same username existing for more than one client and secondly as we now have a user who will be able to log in to more than one of the clients and creating two separate user names is not seen as the answer.
My guess is that this may be possible using JAAS though I have found no example showing this yet (and as always have not had much time to do so!)
Could anyone tell me if they think this is possible?
    Many thanks in advance

We are developing a custom SSPI module for our weblogic servers, and i have a concern
with remote logins for remote ejb calls.
The documentation statest that the UsernamePasswordLoginModule is a good way to
remotely log into a different BEA server so that ejb calls can be made from the
Security.runAs context. However, i need to have more information passed than
just the username password combination. e.g. applicationId that is making the
call, in addition to the userid.
The docs recommend creating your own login module, which is fine, but if i am
correct the UsernamePasswordLoginModule uses the environment object and Authenticate.athenticate,
to perform the login to my sspi. in that case the name is somehow translated
into a NameCallback and (credential) Password to a PasswordCallback. If i want
to add a different callback, "CallingAppCallback" where is that set in the environment
object? In the properties? and if so, how is that then accessed by my LoginModule
    or AuthenticationProviderImpl?
I just dont see how to extend the functionality of UsernamePasswordLoginModule,
for remote-server logins?Yes, this is a major limitation. I had a similar limitation when I
implemented a kerberos client. If you can't fit what you want into two
string fields, you are stuffed. BEA really need to open up the API for
client-side login modules. To be fair to BEA, JAAS is useless so they
weren't working with something that was designed for distributed systems
    in the first place.
Anyway I worked around it by base 64 encoding my data (which was binary
obviously). I suggest you come up with some way of encoding the
application id in the username, e.g user@id or something along those lines.
If you do come up with a better solution I'd be very interested to know!

  • Direct login into a CIVS-IPC-2500: username & password required

    Hi,
I'm integrating a couple of CIVS-IPC-2500 in a domotics project.
So far, I've setup the cams, I'm able to see a picture with a browser and http://<ip>/img/video.mjpeg.
I'm unable to get the picture in the domotics supervisor. I realize now that when I use the http://<ip>/img/video.mjpeg syntax on a new PC, I get a pop-up asking for username & password. On my "work" PC, this syntax works because I've already done a logon, so username & password are cached.
Is it possible to login directly into the cam without supplying any username & password ?
I've reset the cam to factory defaults and done the setup again, trying blank password, but it's not allowed
    Any hint ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Thanks for the quick reply.
Indeed, security isn't a concern, so I thought about the trick to embed the username & password.
The problem: the domotic supervisor doesn't allow me to do that.
    I'm stuck
