Is synchronous scenario possible with JDBC & JMS adapter?

Suppose,JDBC adapter is updating a table or deleting some entry from a table.Can we have an acknowledgement back that the work has been done successfully??
same qstn for JMS adapter also..
Suppose JMS adptr is communicating with any messaging system,can we have acknowledgement back?

Jms Adapter supports Asynchronous scenarios only but If u want to use Synchronous then possible with Standard module beans :
For ex: JMS to Rfc synchronous scenario:
In id:
Sender jms adapter supports Asynchronous scenarios so we have to use standard module beans in Module tab.
Like :
AF_Modules/RequestResponseBean -> 0
CallSapAdapter
AF_Modules/ResponseOnewayBean -> 1
And Provide values in configuration:
0 -> passThrough -> true
1 -> receiverChannel ->provide RECEIVER JMS adapter name ( have to create one more JMS receiver communication channel for responce )
1 -> receiverService ->provide receiver adapter service name (that is provide sender business component because need response for sender )

• Problem with JDBC Sender adapter

hi guys!
I´ve problem in PI 7.0, with the JDBC Sender Adapter, execute select sentence and update status in Oracle database.
In RWB Message Monitoring and SXMB_MONI I can't see any message.
Someone have any idea how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.

Hi David,
First check on the sender communication channel, if no data has been picked up by PI on channel,
then check the configuration of channel in the ID, especially select query.
If that is ok, then ask the sender application team(oracle database team) to run the query on their side
and to check if they are getting any data.
There could be the possibility of error in data also.

• Challenging issue with JDBC sender adapter

Hello Guys
I have this requirement
From Oracle Database I have to read to tables one for the header and one for the detailes and map the result to one RFC.
I have only worked with one table at the time with the JDBC sender adapter but never with 2 tables
My challenges are
1 - How I can read the 2 tables at the same select statement , I suppose I have to use a join with 2 identical fields , so far so good ,but how I can handle multiple records
suppose the result is 10 new different records which each of the recored has to be mapped to the RFC , then we will have 10 RFC calls.
how can I do the mapping in this case.
2 - How can I update the 2 tables at the samme time and flag them as processed , as far as I know we can not use 2 update statement in the same JDBC sender
any help will do
Thanks in advance.

Hi
Thanks for the replayes
The RFC is used to create and Invoice Idoc , It has to be one record (Header and Item ) to one RFC.
a JDBC to IDoc can also be used , but we have to update another table in SAP that is why the RFC,
My doubt is how the Data type for the sender JDBC should look like , as mentioned I have 2 tables to fetch data from
<Invoice>

1 -- 1
<f1>
<f2>
<f3>

1--n
<f1>
<f2>
<f3>

</Invoice>
The sender JDBC returns
<Invoice>
<row>
<f1>
<f2>
<f3>
</row>
</Invoice>
How can I replicate the data type to meet the JDBC sender structure.
and regarding the mapping do I have to change the occurrunce to 0 -- unbounded
regarding the update Ragu is right in his suggestion
Table1 can be used as primary table, Table2 can be used as Secondary table.. u will have key field to link both table.
So Just Updating only Primary Table(Table1) will helps on this.
Thanks.

• CEP with inbound JMS Adapter

Problem: The inbound adapter is not triggered at all.
I have an EPN with an inbound JMS adapter listening to a JMS Queue hosted in my 11g Jdev SOA Suite. The queue is populated from a SOA composite. I can see the messages in the queue and my CEP application is deployed succesfully, but my JMS Adapter doesn't get any.
Here's the relevant section from EPN xml file:
{color:#3366ff}<bean id="OrderConverter" class="agb.foc.order.OrderMessageConverter"/>
<wlevs:adapter id="OrderIn" provider="jms-inbound">
<wlevs:instance-property name="converterBean" ref="OrderConverter"/>
</wlevs:adapter>
{color}
Here's my jms-adapter xml file:
{color:#3366ff}<jms-adapter>
<name>OrderIn</name>
<jndi-provider-url>t3://localhost:7001</jndi-provider-url>
<connection-jndi-name>weblogic/jms/ConnectionFactory</connection-jndi-name>

</jms-adapter>{color}
And the queue details from the weblogic admin console:
{color:#3366ff}Name: AgbTestQueue
Type: Queue
JNDI Name: agb/jms/TestQueue{color}
Note: I'm using CEP 10gR3 with Eclipse IDE and 11g Jdeveloper SOA suite internal release which comes after TP4.

formatting

UPDATE:
If I send the messages via a standalone java client, CEP is accepting them.
The difference I see in both the messages is
{color:#c0c0c0}SOA messages arrive in the queue with JMSXDeliveryCount property set to 1, while standalone client messages arrive in the queue with JMSXDeliveryCount set to 0.
{color}
{color:#c0c0c0}
Why does the messages from SOA composite arrive with JMSXDeliveryCount set to 1? Why does that prevent CEP from receiving them?{color}
EDIT Again: The messages look identical from the admin console. The JMSXDeliveryCount goes up because the delivery to CEP fails and it could be a red herring.
If I export the messages from SOA Composite to a file and import them back, CEP picks them up.
Help!

• Query in Insert statement with JDBC Rx adapter

Hi,
This is a FILE to JDBC scenario.
My target datatype is like this with sample payload values
statement_s
statement_s
action='INSERT"
access
A=1234
B=1002
key
A=1234
B ="10%"
compareOperation= LIKE
A(1..1) is primary key in DB and B(0..1) colunm is an optional one.
I want to know if such kind of Insert query with(LIKE operator) is possible.
Please reply me ASAP.
Edited by: ram pranav on Feb 18, 2009 10:28 PM

Hi Ram,
IN case of "UPDATE_INSERT", you can use the KEY tag in your structure. Also you can provide LIKE as an attribute to the KEY element as follows :
<key1>
<col4 compareOperation=u201DLIKEu201D>val%</col4>
</key1>
But when you are trying to insert the data_, the <key> tags will be ignored and only <access> will be considered._
action=UPDATE_INSERT
The statement has the same format as for the UPDATE action. Initially, the same action is executed as for UPDATE. If no update to the database table can be made for this action (the condition does not apply to any table entry), values of the table described in the <access> element are inserted in accordance with the description of the action INSERT. <key> elements are ignored in this case.
The response document has the following format; one of the two values is always 0 because either an UPDATE or an INSERT action is always executed:

• Is this dynamic caching scenario possible with reverse proxy?

I'm considering using the Sun System Java Web Server as a reverse proxy in front of other SSJWS's running a java webapp. I'm creating a dynamic site where most of the pages change only occasionally. I'm wondering if the follow "dream compression/caching" scenario is possible:
- Origin web servers have a set of high traffic dynamic pages that change only occasionally. Other pages (could be partition in subdirs) should not be cached.
- These dynamic pages set cache and expires headers allowing browser and proxies to cache the content--say for hours or days. It's ok if users see a slightly stale page within this expiration period.
- Reverse proxy caches these pages as if they were static files. They also create gzipped versions on the fly and cache those. When requests comes in for these specific pages, they are served straight from proxy cache (either compressed or uncompressed depending on request header.)
- When the expiration date is reached, reverse proxy requests fresh pages from the origin server, creates a compressed version, and only servies these pages from cache.
- A certain set of pages shouldn't be cached and will have appropriate headers. They will probably also be in different subdirectories.
Is it possible to use the reverse proxy as a self-updating cache this way? (And it it possible to proactively invalidate the cache. Let's say I change a page on the origin and I want the proxy to refresh that cached page right away.)
Thank you,
Armando

I see. Thank you, this is very helpful.
I've take taken a look at Web Proxy 4. It seems it can do much of what I'd like. One downside I see is that it seems to be quite a big tool with all of the forward proxying features that I don't need. I just need a transparent reverse proxy/cache, so it would have been nice if the reverse proxy provided by Sun Web Server offered some of the caching features of Web Proxy 4.
Does Web Proxy 4 share code with Web Server? I haven't any seen any buzz, blogs, etc about it as I have with Sun Web Server. I see it now has a "modern HTTP core" and such but is performance on par with Web Server? (There are no trumpeted world records, and I don't see any architecture details, such as the ability to leverage event ports on Solaris...)
It looks like Web Proxy 4 can be configured as a reverse proxy to do sticky load balancing, caching with interval checks, and on the fly gzip compression. Can it: cache both a compressed and uncompressed version of the content? Run other filters on the content before caching, such as the sed content trip filter? I haven't really seen anything out there that can do all that. If this is possible, then Web Proxy 4 deserves more buzz!
If anyone has any good or bad experience using Web Proxy as a reverse proxy, I'd love to hear it!
Cheers!

• Synchronous sender JMS adapter

Hi ,
I need to do a synchronous scenario : JMS - PI - Proxy
can sender jms adapter be synchronous ?
Thnx

Hi,
can sender jms adapter be synchronous ?
JMS supports asynchronous communication only. However, a request/response model similar to synchronous communication can be implemented using a reply queue mechanism and JMS Correlation ID/JMS Message ID.
Search on SDN / SAP Help, there are plenty of documents related to this.

• Issue with processing time of JDBC receiver adapter

Hi all,
We are using PI 7.1 EHP1.
We have an issue with JDBC receiver adapter taking too much time to process messages.
We are using XML SQL format message protocol with INSERT_UPDATE as the document format.
Each message can contain multiple records, i.e. 1 single message can result in many updates/inserts.
Currently, time taken to process in 6-12 secs which is quite high considering the messages are not very large in size.
We sent the statements to Oracle DBA to see if anything about the queries being used is causing issues. Awaiting inputs.
In the mean time, wanted to check if there is anything that can be done from PI side that will help us improving the processing time.
Thanks in Advance,
Sailaja.

Hi,
i think the main cause is query taking long time to execute in DataBase.
-> increase the read time and response time in the JDBC receiver adapter.
In the advanced mode table section of sender channel and receiver channel configurations, we can set driver properties for each DB connection. Any such property would have to contain prefix 'driver:'(with out quotes).
For Oracle Database JDBC thin driver 10.2.0.3 version, the property oracle.jdbc.ReadTimeout helps to set read timeout while reading from the socket. Also for setting login time out in Oracle, we use oracle.net.CONNECT_TIMEOUT. To set these two properties use as follows: driver:oracle.jdbc.ReadTimeout 1000 driver:oracle.net.CONNECT_TIMEOUT 1000 The TimeOut Driver properties like ReadTimeout and CONNECT_TIMEOUT are in milliseconds.
Refer note 1078420 for more details
please go through this blog i hope it will help you.

• Missing message in JMS adapter sender

Hi,
we have a synchronous interface with a JMS adapter. The scenario is:
ECC 5.0 -> XI -> MQSeries -> XI -> ECC 5.0
We put the message in the queue MQ correctly and we get the response message. I can see this in the adapter monitoring in RuntimeWorkbench. But from this moment the message is missing. I can't see anything in the bpm monitoring (SXMB_MONI_BPE). The bpm stops in workitem receive but doesn't return any error.
I don't know how to see where we lose the message and why.
Thanks for advance.
Paloma

Hi,
Can you see your message in SXMB_MONI? Is your BPM is in running state in sxmb_moni?
You can double click on "PE" in sxmb_moni. It will take you to the Workflow display. Then click on button Technical details,which will show you all steps and if you expand all branches..you should be able to see your error / exception message in case if any.
Please check n let us know the result.

• Pick up a specific file with File Sender Adapter.

Hi guys,
I would like to know how I can pick a specific file in a file pool (folder)? I would like to choose this file by name, like FileA or FileB, etc.
I’m asking this because I have an asynchronous file scenario (BPM) with a receiver adapter that put the File with a specific name (variable substitution) in a folder.
And I would like to do something like this:
In another asynchronous scenario (BPM), a File sender adapter picks up this specific file (using the name). The correlation is made trough an IDOC that XI receives before pick up the file, this IDOC has payload field with the name of file to be picked.
Is it possible receives the IDOC, read the field with the name of the file to be picked and choose this specific file? In a Sender File Adapter how I can do something like variable substitution like receiver adapter does.
Thanks in advance,
Ricardo.

Hi,
Is it possible receives the IDOC, read the field with the name of the file to be picked and choose this specific file? In a Sender File Adapter how I can do something like variable substitution like receiver adapter does.
No this is not possible. The only dynamic thing you can do is use wild card characters like *.
So, maybe you can pick a file like . or AA. and so on...
