  • Sync exchange contact to my mac mini address book?

My iphone is currently connected to my exchange mail account, is there anyway that i can import or sync my iphone contacts to my new mac mini address book? I am new at this mac thing, very confusing....:)

Interesting name by the way. Anti-AT&T.
I'm new to the Mac as well but I know how.
Open "contacts" or "calendar" or "mail" then click on the title on the upper left corner, then preferences.
In one of the tab screens it has "sync with MobileMe" then "sync with Exchange".

  • Lost of all contacts from my address book and my iPhone

    I need help please.
I was syncing my iphone today and I realized later on after I plugged off the iphone that I have lost all my contacts on the phone and the address book on my macbook pro.
I want to know how can I get back my contacts either through the iphone or the macbook pro.
    Thank you.

When you sync an iPhone w/ itunes, iTunes automatically creates a backup. Thus, I would recommend doing a Restore from the most recent back-up.
Moreover, when you connect ur iPhone to iTunes, make sure you DONT allow iTunes to back-up again. Otherwise, the back-up will overwrite the previous one
    Good luck

  • What is the major difference between two Mac Minis?

    Hello,
I noticed the differences between the Mac mini MC815LL/A and MC816LL/A do not add up to $200 price difference. They both are I5 (with different versions of course) and they have different memory (which is realatively easy and cheap to modify). Am I missing the point here? Does one have more software? Please help me decide.
    Thank you,
    Mike-

First off, Apple charges $100 to upgrade the Mac Mini's from 2 to 4GB of RAM.
    Configure - Apple Store (U.S.)
Second, third party RAM is only around $30 for a 4GB kit and $50 or so for an 8GB kit.
Apple Mac mini Memory DDR3 / Ram upgrades for 2011 Mac mini unibody models
Crucial Memory Upgrades for Macs - Apple Memory
So that leaves a $100 difference between the graphic's chips.
In older systems that only supported 2GB or less system Ram a decated Graphic's was aways the best way to go.
Personally, I don't think you will see much of a difference either way as long as you have enough RAM. Me, I'd go for the Base $599 model and put an 8GB RAM kit from OWC or Crucial.

  • How do I transfer files from one user account on the mac mini to another user account?

I had to set up a new user account for my son.  I need to transfer files from his old user account and from my user account to his new user account on the mac mini.  How do I do this?

Move them to /Users/Shared/ and then into the new account.

  • Contacts and Mac OS Address Book won't sync anymore

I have an iPod touch, 2nd generation, with iOS 4.2.1, which has worked perfectly well for years.
Since I got an iPad 2 with iOS 5.0.1, and iTunes 10.5.1, and set up iCloud, and synced the iPad to my Mac, now my iPod touch will no longer sync any address book entries between iOS Contacts and Mac OS X 10.7.2 Lion's Address Book.
I've tried restoring the iPod touch to its factory-fresh setting and syncing with the Mac. I've tried rebuilding the Mac OS Address Book index, and repairing permissions on Mac OS X. Nothing seems to help.
Another clue is that the iPod touch Contacts stopped syncing at 512 Contact entries, while the Mac's Address Book had 521 entries. I think 512 is a suspicious number; is it an upper limit on entries that sync with iTunes and Address Book?
    Any help would be appreciated.

The messaget is correct, that is, your iCloud calendar will no longer be on your Mac as long as you are signed out of iCloud.  Your calendars will still be on you iPhone and on iCloud.  After syncing your contacts to your iTouch, you then sign back into iCloud on your Mac and everything will be back as it was before you signed out.  I did it on my Mac and have all my calendars and contacts as well as my wife's iTouch has all calendars and contacts.
You seem to be concerned about losing data, which is a valid concern.  Do you back up your Mac using Time Machine?  It is a great resource installed on the Mac to assure that if you commit any errors that resutls in the loss of data, then you can easlily restore it via Time Machine.  If you have not been backing up your Mac then consider doing it.  The Apple Store sales personnel recommended to me the LaCie Storage devices since they easily interconnect with the Mac.  A Google search will find them at competitive prices as compard to what Apple charges.  I am so paranoid about losing data that I have three separate 1TB LaCie drives backing up my Mac.  I will be installing a forth as a network backup drive for my wife's Mac and my MacBook Air.

  • Mac mini 1.66 and pro-tools mbox 2?

    i hope someone can help!
i just got the mac mini 1.66 and Mbox 2..and the pro-tools software installed flawlessly!
(pro-tools 6.8.1)but when i went 2 open the app up, it said no hardware was located .....but i had my m box plugged in..... when i got 2 my hardware overview....and checked what is plugged into my usb ports it says that the mbox is plugged in,but for some reason it is not turning on.
i read from a google search something about passive USB ports not working with the mbox..
    but IDK...
i'm old school...i'm used 2 good ol analog and somewhat analog/digital...i used 2 record on a alesis ADAT machine....but i lost my studio 2 a flood......and i heard all the rave about Pro-tools....so i said what the heck!
but me and computers dont mesh...

    Hi AbzZilla,
I was looking up this post and found you've a similar problem...
I was having the non-responsiveness with the above configurations in 'LE 7.4 & 7.4.2c (Mac-only), but I have now installed Pro Tools LE 8.
Unfortunately I still can't get the MBOX2 to work with the Mac mini 2, but the MBOX2 USB status alights now [i.e. it's very bright and now works] on the MBP 17" ...all with Mac OS X 10.5.6! In all previous Pro Tools versions it confirms support for Pro Tools and the MBox, with the Mac mini:
    http://archive.digidesign.com/compato/osx/os.cfm
So I too am 'stumped' as this is the brand new computer that I wanted the software to be operable on. I've swapped the USB cables (to check if it was a failed cable) and it looks like either a firmware clash or a USB-port power issue? I've also tried non-powered USB hubs... as it could be the later issue? So when I find my powered USB hub I'll let you know, ...if there's a change?
Until then... I Iook forward to further posts in this thread!
    Thanks for kicking-off the discussion.
    'Regards, ;-R

  • Mac Mini Core Duo and 23" Cinema Display: video graphics performance

I know the Mac Mini Core Duo and the 23" Cinema Display are compatible but can anybody tell me if one can expect better graphics performance when using a 20" display or does it not make any difference?

Thanks Dan but maybe I didn't make myself clear. What I'm interested in is whether or not one can expect a noticeable difference in video graphics performance between a 20" Cinema Display and a 23" Cinema Display, when connected to a Mac Mini Core Duo.

  • Mac Mini (Mid 2007), how sync iPhone 5?

I have a Mac Mini (Mid 2007) and cannot sync my iPhone 5 as Itunes 7 requires OSX 10.6.8 or later which I cannot install as the Mac Mini is too old. Can anyone advise what my optiosn are  other than iCloud?

.....requires OSX 10.6.8 or later which I cannot install as the Mac Mini is too old.
    Yours facts make no sense.
A MacMini 2.1 (mid 2007) can be upgraded to either 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) or 10.7 (Lion).
The latest version of iTunes is 10.7 not 7. It also works with either SL or Lion.
You would need at least 10.7 (Lion) in order to use iCloud.
You would have to phone Apple at 1-800-My-Apple to buy an authorization to download Lion, but you would also need to have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 installed to have the App Store.

  • Mac mini on photoshop and imovie

Hi, I am looking to switch over to Mac for non-professional photo editing and video editing. I have been looking at the mac mini basic model and upgrading the ram to 16gb. Is this a good option or is it worth waiting and saving up for the basic Imac. How does photoshop and imovie run on the mac mini?

You would definitely need 16GB of RAM and you can save some money buying the additional RAM from Other World Computing or Crucial. Photoshop is very RAM hungry, but perhaps even more hungry for CPU resources. If you are going to be doing a lot of Photoshopping I would go for a top of the line mini with the 2.6GHz quad core i7 processor and a Fusion drive. The fusion drive will yield disk I/O performance close to that of a full solid state drive (SSD) and that can be helpful with Photoshop as well. I have done some iMovie work on my fully loaded mini and I have been very pleased with the rendering speed and that is what seems to take the longest time.
If you already have a good monitor, that you like the fully tricked out mini would be a good buy for you. If you are going to buy an Apple monitor in addition to the mini, the price defference between that and a high end iMac will only be few hundred dollars and the iMac will be faster. I switched from iMacs to the mini because I bought a new iMac I always had to buy both the monitor and the processor. WIth the mini I only have to replace/upgrade one or the other.
Given you can no longer purchase Adobe products, they are available as rental only tools, you might want to consider some of the less expensive non-Adobe alternatives that are available on the Mac. You may find one of those that will give you the results you want and you can purchase for a fraction of what a year's rent of Photoshop will cost you some are even free. On the other hand Photoshop is still the standard by which all others are compared.

  • New MAC OSX Address Book Groups Do Not Appear in iTunes for iPhone Sync?

New Groups (and their associated new contacts) created in the MAC OSX Address Book since the initial installation of my iPhone do not appear in iTunes, and hence do not sync with iPhone. I have tried the Advanced - Replace information on this iPhone - Contacts to no avail.

I had this problem for several weeks now!
I followed your procedure and - addresses there, calender gone! Even worse!
So I copied the old SyncServices Folder back into /Library/Application Support/
result as expected, calender there, addresses gone.
My lady called, I was on the phone for 10 minutes or so. Coming back to my iMac I see a Sync-Problem-Icon jumping in the dock. I've been told that one of my addresses has a conflict between adressbook and iPhone. OK. Solve it with adressbook, please.
I open iTunes and everything is there, calender data and adresses!
    Finally!
    Thank you, Maurizio!

  • Is there a difference between the Mac Mini Server and installing the Lion Server on an iMac?

So, I was wondering what the difference is between installing the Lion Server on an iMac as opposed to buying the Mac Mini Server because the iMac may be a cheaper solution for me since I intend to purchase a new monitor, keyboard, mouse and accessories if i purchase the Mac Mini Server.

If you intend to leave the server running all the time a Mac mini server would probably make more sense.  It isn't necessary to keep a monitor, mouse and keyboard connected to the server as you can use the server management tools, remote desktop and SSH via the terminal window on your iMac to manage the server remotely once it's up and running.
