Is there a FM that lets you know whether the database is being locked/down?

Dear experts,
I have a situation here where i need to know if the database is being locked or being down.
I understand that there is a DBID that will determine its availability.

I got the splitter, (see link below), but the mic does not seem to work. Apparently, there's a difference between a mic port and a line-in port. Mic ports are powered by the computer, line-in ports are not. They expect a powered signal to come from the input device. The iMac has a line-in port.
I downloaded an app called Line-in that is supposed to give back the ability to use unpowered mics with Macs that lost the abiliy after a system update. It did not work for me. I guess my iMac never had the ability to use unpowered mics.
So I ordered the USB Stereo Audio Adapter below. It's basically a sound card that plugs into a USB port and will work with an unpowered mic. It has not arrived yet. I'll let you know how it goes.

How to know whether the database is using SPFILE or PFILE

How can i know whether the database is using SPFILE or PFILE.
There are both initSID.ora and spfileSID.ora in default location.
The registry entry for ORA_SID_PFILE is C:\oracle\ora90\database\initSID.ora
Also, if it is using SPFILE than how can i modify the non dynamic parameters when the database is in the close state.

If you do not specify a path of a pfile , when you actually startup a database , then it will be use your pfile , if you specify a path explicitly fot a pfile , then it'll use your pfile.
Also, if it is using SPFILE than how can i modify the non dynamic parameters when the database is in the close state.sql > create spfile from pfile ;
the spfile will syncronise with pfile .

Is there a setting to let you know you have a text msg?

Is there a setting you can set to let you know you have a tex msg? I use to have the Droid 3 and a light would blink if I had a text msg or email.

No there is not other than a sound setting, vibrate or both (i think). I had this same thought the other day after just coming over from a droid as well but when you think about it, doesn't matter much. With my droid, if the light was blinking I would check, but most often it would be a spam or garbage email. With this phone it has no light but a click of the home button and I can see what messages or emails or whatever are there. If I am close enough to see a light, I'm likely close enough to click the button, and because of my nature, I'm going to click the button and look...lets face it. Essentially the same thing with either phone...if I think there might be something I'm looking for it!
I also believe certain things can be set up to repeat notification until you clear it. So if you miss the initial sound or vibration or what have you, it would alert you again.

I'm trying to add pictures to my ripped movies in my library but it keeps telling me it can't save the library because there's not enough memory. There is plenty on my hard drive, is there a setting that lets you increase the amount of memory?

I get a window popping up that says "The library iTunes file cannot be saved. There is not enough memory available.". I have 980GB free, I don't understand how to change a setting or what ever is causing it.

You are wright the index file is 308 KB.
And offcourse that I delete my files and documents is not an Iweb problem, but because my English is not that good, that I thougt I try to tell the whole story, and hope people can read trough the lines.
Why I didn't use Iweb to upload to the server is because the server company recommanded to use file zilla. And I am a nobody with this kind of things, so I did exactly what they tell me to do.
No, i did not make a backup of Iweb and the domain file, but reading other messages on this forum showed me that I can maybe try to make empty the cashfile (?)
and otherwise I have bad luck and have to make my website again. Offcourse I have a lot of examples from all the pages (copied from the local map to my USB stick) and my website is aprox. 15 Mb, (not so big) so it will cost me a few nigths.
But I'm still hoping on a miracle :-)

Generally yes, in my experience it will. I would suggest not trusting it, though, and confirming in your library before you make a purchase.

Kind of like flickering back and forth between two layers. I'm guessing adding an expression to the opacity on the top layer would do it.

Something like this applied to the opacity of the top layer:
f = timeToFrames(t = time + thisComp.displayStartTime);
if (f % 2 == 0){
0}
else 100
It's just a simple java test for even numbers

Another variation would be:

I'm sure a number of you will not agree but.....
I purchase all my Apple products refurbished and have never had a single days' problem with anything from a laptop to a Tower and now, the same with my iPhone. As soon as it went on Refurbished sale site I purchase an 8 gig and last weekend a 4 gig for my son. It's amazing.
This is just an fyi, I'm sure some had problems with refurbished products but I've been very lucky thus far.

But... just like computers that are refurbished, the iPhone is certified as operating as "NEW".
In the computer business this certification is important since the Government won't accept used equipment but will accept equipment certified as NEW with a totally refresed Warranty.
If the iPhone is certified to work as NEW and Warranted as NEW, the consumer should not be concerned about it's performance as long as the problem that the iPhone had is resolved.

i'm using late 2012 mountain lion imac. here's the problem: when i click on the desktop when start typing, a little text box will pop up. and when i play call of duty black ops, that text box pops up again when i hit a d s w instead of moving back and forth and left and right. can somebody help me please?

When I tried to download and install the previous version of Firefox (I think it was Firefox 5) on my laptop, the Google Toolbar disappeared.

How do you know if the song is being imported on to the ipod?

I just got an Ipod Nano and when i plug it up all it does is charges so itriend to download the songs on the ipod from Itunes and it won't Import. I tried all the Usb ports on my computer and it still does the same.

I use an email client that notify's you when a new email arrives in your inbox. On IE a window pop's up to let you know whith a chime. In Firefox the window opens but with no chime. Is there an extention or add on that will do this?

Is the notifier part of the email program? Is it an independent program like poptray? If it is separate from Firefox, it really shouldn't matter which browser you are using. Unless the notification is within IE.

How do you know when the person that you've shared the file with has downloaded the file?

After the person get the email that says "I am sharing these files with you. Click on the image below to view or download your file.", how do you know that they've viewed or downloaded the file? Do you get an email message or is there something in the shared status that lets you know?

Thank you for your post. Although this is a feature for Buzzword, right now it's not possible to know if someone has viewed a file you've sent via Share. We are working to integrate Share/My Files/Buzzword so that this will be corrected in future.
