Hi,
Is there a function by name HTMLDB_LDAP.GET_USER_ATTRIBUTES?
Customer wants to get the DN of the user who was authenticated through SSO?

Rachel - Answer the first question by 1) checking the Users guide, or 2) describing the package. (Answer is yes.)
The DN is not available after authentication by any means I am aware of.

Is there a function to detect file names?

Hi Guys
I'm using actionscript to create a custom navigator for a PDF
Portfolio. Currently my navigator uses the function
getFileExtension(value.filename) to detect the filetype, and then
assign an appropriote icon. I'm wanting to change it so that it
dectects the filename, and assigns the icon based on that instead.
Are there any functions like that, something like getFilename()?

I know i can use union and select the name from dual one by one.

I'd be tempted to just use a union all statement to return the seven literals. People will look at it and know exactly what it does.Yeah, agreed, I was just demonstrating that the format mask of a to_char(..., 'Day') pads with spaces, which seems to have been missed in the above answers. ;)

Currently I have an application that runs on our network. When someone logs on to the network it checks there system and gets the pc name. I would like to also get the IP address of that system. As well I may later like to ping that computer.
1) Is there a function to get the IP of this remote system?
2) IS the a function to ping a remote system and receive back the response?

Because if wan or internet then the remote computer would have to have an address that is reachable from your computer. For the internet this would mean it would have to be public. And for a wan the IP would have to be unique across the wan.

I am getting the following error when i try using Set_Item_Instance_Property for assigning a visual attribute to an item.
This is the code. I have replaced Display_Item with Set_Item_Instance_Property for setting the visual attribute.

L.Rajesh - :SYSTEM.CURRENT_RECORD global variable does not exist - use :SYSTEM.CURSOR_RECORD or :SYSTEM.TRIGGER_RECORD instead.
Prasad - what version of Forms are you using? For Forms 6i and higher, CURRENT_RECORD property is a valid reference. (not sure about Forms 5 or earlier as I don't have access to these versions any longer :) ) Are you logged into a database when you compile your code? There might be a TYPO somewhere in your code that the PL/SQL compiler can't determine the cause and CURRENT_RECORD is the first recognizable term the compiler can find. Sometimes, I've had to log out, close Forms Builder and reopen the form I'm working on to eliminate these types of odd compilation errors.

Use
You trigger form printing by calling as few as two function modules. The first module uses the name of the form to determine the name of the generated function module. Then you call this module.
The name of the generated function module is unique only within one system. Therefore, you must always call that function module first that uses the form name to determine the current name of the generated module.
Prerequisites
You defined the form interface in your form and activated the form.
Procedure
In the Form Builder call the function Environment ® Name of the function module and use STRG-Y and STRG-C to copy its name.
In the application program define a variable of type RS38L_FNAM for the name of the generated function module:
data fm_name type RS38L_FNAM .
You can call the Smart Form in other parts of the application program as well. However, in that case you must make sure that the system can access the data to be passed from that location. We recommend to encapsulate the data retrieval in a function module as well.
If desired, you can call the function module SSF_FIELD_LIST . It returns a list of the form parameters actually used in the form. You can use this information to limit data selection, if necessary.
Call function module SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME . It returns the name of the generated function module:
CALL FUNCTION 'SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME'
EXPORTING

ENDIF.
If the form is not active, SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME triggers the exception NO_FORM . There are two cases in which the function module generates an active version by itself:

As long as you do not change the form interface, you can make any changes to the form. When you activate it again, the system generates the current version of the form as soon as you call the function module. Only if you change the form interface, you must adapt the interface in the application program.

In my application, I used the wizard to create a form on a table with Report (2 pages). Then I go to the Report page and I want to test the edit function. This successfully launches the edit Form. When I change the values in the form and then try to save them, I get this error:
Error Unable to process row of table PRODUCER.

I guess my question is: should I be able to run and use the application while in developer mode.

In the install, we just set up the second option (for HTML db. No glitches on the install, ended successfully
Read the notes in the doc folder. No issues there
Platform for development is Win XP Pro
DB server and app server on same PC.

By using material in MSEG table I need to get BOM field from MAST table. Then using that BOM I have to retrieve BMENG from STKO table and POSTP (item category) in STOP table and here I need to search table STPO with BOM#; retrieve component quantity from field STPO/MENGE for all materials with Item category N
I can do the above things by using select for all entries
But One function module is there to do all these things..
Can any one tell me the function module name

Pass yr partner value in NOTIFPARTNR, and against the value make it "X" in the NOTIFPARTNR_X , then u can change the partner value.
