Is there a way to assign the default font for font substitution?

I use PsCS3 at home and work. I took some work home today, and SHOCK, I didn't have any of the same fonts I have on my Mac at work. Right now, I'm laboriously changing all my type layers one by one to a suitable replacement font on my PC. There's got to be a better way - more suitable to a lazy sod like me, right?
The perfect solution would be to assign the font I want to use for the default substitution font (which is Myrid Pro). I've searched everywhere, but have come up with nada. Is there a way to change this default font to one of my selection?
Any tips to help out will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You can change all the type layers at on by selecting them all (Ctrl+click on each or Shift+click a range) then make the change.

  • Is there a way to change the default colors for iPad apps?

I noticed one of my friends iPad 2 had a different color scheme for apps and I would like to change my iPad 2's default ( which is currently grey). To elaborate, the default color for the borders and tabs in Safari are grey on my iPad, my friends are blue. Would like to change from the drab grey color to blue also but I cannot find a setting for this. All applications and Setup apps have this default color scheme on my ipad. Do I have to reset the iPad and start over with setup to achieve this? Hope not, perhaps someone can shed some light on an easy way to do this. Thank You!

You can apply  system-wise "negative" color effect under Settings > General > Accessibility, by toggling the White and Black switch - and, in iCab Mobile (and some other, better browsers / PDF readers), its own "night mode" negative color scheme.
Otherwise, no, you can't do anything else except for asking third party app authors to add selectable back/froeground (=text) colors to their apps.

When I am at a website that contains a button for printing (Gmail, for example), is there a way to change the way that functions, so that when I click "Print", Firefox will open Print Preview instead of taking me to the default system printer?

  • Is there a way to set the default view for the App Store to only show Apps for iPads when the Store is launched?

I'm a new iPad owner and would like to set the default view for myself to show only Apps for the iPad when I launch the the App Store app. Showing apps for iPhone seems a waste of real estate for me and time spent searching for a particular app since I do not own an iPhone.
    Thanks for any assist. :-)

    Hi ..
That's not possible as yet but you can provide feedback to Apple here.

  • Is there any way to change the default folder for new finder windows...

...Or even set a different folder as the "home folder"?
I am recovering from an incredibly messy archive and install which refused to allow me to save my old user accounts, instead moving them all into "Previous Systems". In my haste to get the machine working again I just dragged and dropped my old home folder into the /users/ directory and changed the "short name" of the new account to match it. IT worked, but now I have an incredibly irritating problem. That is now indeed my home folder, as appears in the sidebar of all finder windows, albeit under my new short name instead of my old one. All my documents in iWeb, Garageband, etc are working now and default to the new folder.
However, Finder has not recognized this, and every time I open a new Finder window or anything like that it defaults to the home folder created by the reinstall, which is now locked to this account (so all the folders have a red no entry sign on them). I would very much like to tell Finder to ignore this now defunct folder and default to my actual home folder instead - is there a way to do this without actually moving or changing any folders? Like a preference setting somewhere? I know there's the "Advanced Options" pane in Leopard but I've been completely unable to find anything like it in Tiger

Finder > Preferences > new Finder Window opens

  • Is there a way to change the default icon for a sound file in KN2

i have need to include dozens of sound files on each slide that will trigger as text builds. i can handle all the transitions fine but i cannot figure out how to change the standard icon for the sound file.
i would prefer to have the text be the icon, if that is not possible to have a smaller icon for the file. as i build the page i am ending up with a huge mess, icons covering text, also there is not a intuitive way to tell which sound file is which with out click/playing each file.
    powerbook g4 Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    Did you try:
    OracleBI/web/app/res/s_.../popbin/
    EX:
    line.pcxml Look for <SeriesDefinition ...
we modified the line width and a few other things. You'll have to modify all the pcxml files for all the chart types you want to customize.

  • Is there a way to change the default sound for alarms?

That is, when I set a new event, I have it set to have the alarm activate one day before the actual event (thanks to MadisonP for answering that). I'd like to change the default alarm from Basso to something a little more pleasant. Is it possible to have ical set up so that when I create a new event, the alarm is automatically Submarine?
    Please help.
    Best,
    David

Go to: Settings, Sounds and look for Facebook Post.  You can click on it and select which sound you want.

  • Is there a way to change the default schema for a user?

I'd like to have, for example, user SCOTT access data from schema XYZ by default. From SQL Developer, I can do this via
    alter session set current_schema = XYZ ;
But "alter" operations are not allowed via JDBC. How can I do this from the application layer?
    Thanks.
    -Tim

do it right the first time around, use synonyms. Don't be presumptive. There may be any number of reasons for choosing to change schema instead of using synonyms. Not the least of which is that it is a more robust approach because we don't have to keep synonyms in sync with an application owner's objects.
Of course the GRANT model has to be correct but that is true either way.

  • Is there no way to change the default setting for the save as directory

I been searching but running into a dead end, no answer.
    Thx
    Russ

Will someone, preferably from Adobe, PLEASE give a straight answer to this question. It is such an easy question and the answers seem to be bending over backwards to avoid it.
The question is: What must a Reader user do to change the directory to which Reader, by default, points when instructed to save a file?
The current default is the Windows "My Documents" directory. The goal is any directory of the user's choice.
The question does not ask how to modify or attach add-ons to Windows. It is not how to add icons to Windows save dialogs. It is simply how to adjust Reader to specify a different default save-to directory. Maybe it's a line in an INI file or other configuration file. Maybe it's a registry key. But it must be something, because Reader somehow knows how to point to "My Documents." How may the user change it?
    Thank you.

  • Is there any way to specify the default version of LabVIEW?

I have a sinking feeling that the answer to this question is "no."  With more than one version installed, is there any way to set the default LabVIEW version for opening a VI? I have both 7.1 and 8 installed, and usually only use 8 to open an example or look at something posted here.  When I do that, it resets all the OS hooks so that the default action for opening a VI is to open it in version 8.  I've even gone so far as to create actions to open files in 7.1 and 8, but it always resets my default action.
I found this KB article for when version 7 came out, but it's suggestions don't seem to work with 7 and 8.
Ugh. I hate it when software thinks it knows what I want better than I do.

    Add
in the LabVIEW.ini file of those versions you do not want to rewrite
the registry on startup to point to themselves for VI files, the
    following:
    RegisterExtensions=False
Of course the VersionChooser utility mentioned earlier is even more convinient.

  • Is there any way to set the default for *.doc document so that Pages opens them automatically?

I have a number of Ms Word documents because I used to have Word for Mac before the last OS release.  Now, of course, when I double-click on them, I get a message saying that PowerPC isn't supported.
Now Pages will open these files.  Is there any way to change the default for *.doc files so that a double-click will open them in Pages?
(Instead of me going to the trouble of finding out where they are actually located on the hard drive so that I can open pages and say - here, open this file--even though you didn't create it--)

Click on a .doc file and type Cmnd I to open Get Info. In the Open with: menu select Pages, then click on Change All…

  • Is there a way to set the default level of keyframe easing?

I'm currently using the graph editor to smooth my ease-in / ease-out keyframes with 100% influence.  I'm having to adjust the easing of each keyframe individually.
Is there a way to set the default level to 100%, so that I can just select "Easy Ease In" and have it apply without having to go into the graph editor?  It would save a lot of time.

No, there's not a way to do that, but it's a good feature request. You can submit feature requests here:
