Is there a way to Comunicate with USB device other than VISA using LABView

I have a manufacturer-supplied driver   to control my USB device.
Can you show a example of how to talk to my device using the call library function node.
I have a DLL that contains a whole bunch of useful functions that someone else already designed to talk to my device.
I have tried Visa and this just gives errors trying to talk to the device.

Hello,
If you're looking for device information including vendor and product ID, and how windows see's the device, try using USB View - you should be able to download it from http://www.srigc.com/PeakSimple.htm (search the page for usbview and you'll find it quickly).

  • Is there a way to access 11i from outside other than Self service?

Is there a way to access 11i from outside other than Self service?
I could connect any application from inside the firewall (basically router) and can not access screens from outside. Eventhough port forwarding 80 allows us upto initial screen, it does not go further.
    Any workaround/suggestions
    Jiltin

    Hi Jiltin,
If you can migrate your forms server into Forms Listener Servlet. This will allow you to use forms outside firewall provided atleast one port(assuming yours 80) is open.
Ref to the M.Link Note 201340.1 for how to setup forms listener servlet.

  • How do I sync my Itunes with a device other than I Pod or I Phone ?

Does anyone know how to sync ITUNES with a devise other than an I POD or I PHONE ?

iTunes is designed to only sync Apple devices.
However, you can use the same songs in your iTunes library and copy them to other devices, especially if they are in MP3 format.  Just follw the directions that came with your player.

  • Need information on how to comunicate with USB devices

I have an aquisition unit that connects to the computer trhough a USB port. Does anyone knows how to comunicate usb devices with labview using a Universal Serial Bus (USB)?

Sorry for digging up old threads, but it seemed most relevent, and I always figure it's best to add onto old then start new. For ease of the next persons search.
So anywho, My first question is... I assume it is not necessary to open and close VISA sessions to USB ports, right?
I am having an issue where my device doesn't like to work unless a specific series of events take place... very unlike USB Devices in my experience. For instance, if you have the said device plugged in, and you turn it on, then open labview. It will spit out garbage. If you close labview, do nothing else, and open labview up... it will spit out the same garbage.  ( by garbage i mean a series of y's with dots over it, and odd looking p's ... you know the kind of letters you get by pressing alt+###... i think in hex it winds up spitting out something like FF EF FF FF FF EF EF ) .... now, if from this current state, I unplug the USB and plug it back into the device, it will finally start to communicate properly.
Im curious why either labview or the computer itself are not recognizing the device on the USB port properly unless it is unplugged and then plugged back in. Ive tried to do reading on USB, and got all sorts of interesting tid bits of somewhat useless information.  Im trying to determine if this is something I am not doing in labview, or if this device should have a driver to register with windows, or what exactly the issue is...  Just a little background, I do explicitly know all the individual commands to this device so it is not an issue to communicate with it directly through visa...
Thought some of you might have insight or some similar USB experiences....

  • Is there no way to import new movie content other than direct from camera?

I just imported all my new footage into iphoto then deleted the lot from the camera sd card. Then i went to imovie thinking i could import from iphoto turns out i can't. So is there any way to get my new photos , which are on my computer, into imovie. Because at the moment i'm fiddling around with my time machine trying to go back in time before i deleted the new material. Please help.

How are you trying to "import" in iMovie ?
In iMovie you need to click on the camera icon (in the "middle" bar at the right. You will then see your iPhoto library and the photo's. If you wan t to use the photo's you can click one or multiple photo's/folder or event and drag that in your project (not the events)

  • My iPhone 4S was stolen recently. Is there a way I can track the phone other than via Find my iPhone? I believe that whoever has it has already restored the phone, so it's no longer available to me.

Also, is there a way to recover the last known location of the phone, since it deletes the last known location after 24 hours of no activity?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unfortunately without find my phone being active, you cannot track, locate, lock or wipe the phone any longer.

  • Is there a way to manage your discoverer connections other than through OEM

In chapter 6 of the administrator guide of Discoverer Admin it states to manage your Discoverer connections through OEM is there another way to do that other than using OEM.
Help, Our DBA wants to know why I want OEM. I have tried to explain.
    Can you help me?

    Hi
You can create private connections, which are local to your machine and browser. Alternately, you can use SSO connections, provided these are activated by your administrator. Neither of these connections require management via the OEM.

  • Is there any way to refresh the zfs snapshot other than creating another on

    Hi,
I want to use the zfs send / recv replication, after I create the snapshot and do send/ recv to the remote filesystem, is there any way to do send and recv from the same snapshot after making some changes to the original filesystem other than creating another snapshot every time before send / recv
    Thanking you
    Ushas Symon

No, you'd have to take another snapshot and then send it, but you don't need to save all the snapshots after you are done. If you script it out to take snapshots fairly often during the day, the amount of data would be small. You can also send to a file and then backup that file to tape or whatever, you wouldn't have to save a million snapshots. You can also look into OpenSolaris' Time Slider function.

  • Is there a way to choose another online app other than safari?

why is there only one online app on Ipads?  Can it be changed? Just having to spend lots of time fixing it. thanks

If by "online App" you mean browser, then yes. There are many alternative Browsers in the App store such as Google Chrome, Opera, and many others.
Just search the App store for "Browser".

  • Is there as way to set the Status Byte, other than ibrsv?

I am trying to emulate an instrument that sets the status byte to 64, but does not assert the SRQ line. Using ibrsv asserts SRQ, which seems to cause problems with my legacy test system. I am using LabWindows/CVI under Windows NT and a PXI-GPIB.

    Hi,
According to the IEEE 488.2 standard, bit 6 of the status byte register (value 64 or 0x40 hex) indicates that the instrument is requesting service. Usually setting this bit will automatically assert the SRQ line. The NI-488.2 does not provide a function that just set this bit without the interface asserting the service request line.

  • Is there any way to get the server app other that through the app store. We do not have our system conneted to a network. I typical downloaded items on a non-apple system.

is there any way to get the server app other than through the app store. The system that I need it on are not connected to the internet.
We run a closed-loop network of apple systems and I tipically downloaded updates on a non-apple system that was on the internet.
    Any ideas?

I did buy the server app, went to the app store to download it. This system I'm using for downloads is Snow Leopard 10.6.8, it shows that I can download it but only as an Install which says I need 10.8. I can't seem to find a way for it to just download as a package or .dmg file so that I can copy it to DVD/CD or flash drive.

  • Is there a way to protect a USB flash drive from virus?

My daughter's school computer lab is seemingly infected with some PC virus but their school IT folks seem to be unable to clean them and with all the young kids using USB flash drives they brought these viruses home when they plug the flash drive into our home computer but luckily since we are using Mac at home and I have ClamXav installed it detected the virus immediately. So we are kind of safe but I am getting tired of removing this same virus every week using UNIX command in a terminal mode, as it's locked and can only removed using the sudo command (taught by some people). My questions are:
    1. Is there any way to protect a USB flash drive from virus infection (it's a window PC virus)
    2. is there a way or suggestion on how to stop these apart from dis-infecting the whole school computers? The problems are that these young kids are not aware of those viruses in their USB flash drives and their teachers are just too ignorant about it!
Thanks for any suggestions and help

I'd still invest in your case into Mac protection against passing along malware.
Take a look at Intego AV for one for the Mac and for dual-protection.
    http://www.intego.com
Whatever you are finding is 'dormant' I assume, but that doesn't mean it can't become active or passed along either. And there are some 'man in the middle' spyware and malware, some which target online home banking (some people run their home banking from a virtual OS that is used for that purpose only, I always wished Mac OS X could be run in a VM mode as well).
The IT folks sound like they need... do their jobs properly and better.
I don't care how young they are, or the staff's ignorance. Time for education is now.
Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials in Windows and follow guidelines. And there are tons of FAQs, guidelines and articles on the subject.

Nearly six months after Apple added a malware blocker to Mac OS X (Snow Leopard), the feature appears to be collecting cobwebs.
Apple has not added any anti-malware signature updates to the XProtect.plist file that launched with antidotes for OSX.RSPlug.A and OSX.Iservice, two known Trojan horse programs targeting Mac OS X users.
