I am trying to upgrade to Snow Leopard but I cannot figure out how to do it online. Do I actually need to purchase the disc and install it that way? Is there no way to download the update?

If not, is there any way to stop the software update notice until these add ons are accepted?
Hi blabla12345,
(untested and without warranty)
replace this line:
const sSaveCUBE = "CUBE";
with this:
const sSaveCUBE = "cube";

Is there a way to download old podcasts in 11.2.2?
You used to be able to search for all available episodes, but that is no longer an option. If there are multiple releases on the same day it will only download the most recent one.

Way to download old ProApp updates?
Is there a way to download the old proApp updates from anywhere. Preferably ProAppsUpdate2007-01 and ProAppsUpdate2007-02? I'm having the good old Ozone problem. Running Motion 3 and Leopard by the way.
FYI,
I used the above Pro Apps 2008 03 update to fix my Ozone plugin issue with Motion 3.
I was on a fresh install of OS X 10.5.6 and had installed FCS 2 with all the latest updates. Motion crashed when using some filters.
I installed Pro Apps 2008 03 update on top of all the previous updates.
It's a bit counterintuitive, especially taking in count that this issue has cropped up with Motion in early 2007. Strange they haven't fixed it yet. -
Is there some way to download older versions of games that will run in an iPod Touch running iOS 4.2.1? I want to give my old device to a child who recently went through a hard time and his device was damaged. It is no use if it only has music on it. Thanks!
To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists. -
The latest iTunes software wiped out my apps for my 2G iPod Touch by overwriting newer releases of the apps which are not compatible with iOS 4.2.1. I tried to restore the iPod to an earlier version without success. Is there any way to download older versions of my apps which are compatible with my older iPod?
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

I recently purchased an old iMac G3 Macintosh. I was wondering, is there a way where I can update it without using an external disc? I've seen the newer Apple products with the dock, if I update my iMac G3, will it have that, and if so, how can I do that?
I was wondering, is there a way where I can update it without using an external disc?
If you mean the iMac does not have an internal optical drive capable of reading DVDs, the only option requires another Mac with a DVD-capable drive and FireWire ports. Your iMac G3 will also require FireWire ports. Not all G3 iMacs have Firewire. FW started with the Summer 2000 models with 400mHz and faster processors.
With FireWire, you can use FireWire Target Disk mode to install from a retail OS install DVD in another Mac. If you supplemental info info tells us if you have another Mac with a DVD reader and the FW ports, we can walk you through the process.
If the iMac has a tray-loading drive, I'd forget it. They are very limited not only in the OS max (10.3.9) but also in RAM capability. Starting with the slot-loading iMac G3s, the max RAM increased to 1 GB (2 X 512MB modlules). Tiger likes 1GB RAM.
Understand that pre-Intel Macs are getting harder to use. Even with 10.4.11, your choice of browsers is limited (TenFourFox is the most viable option) and the G3s rudimentary video hardware means web browsing will be choppy at best.
If you are in the USA, you can try calling the Apple Store (1-800-MY-APPLE) for an OS disk. As recently as Jan 20, someone posted here that they were able to buy Tiger by calling. It was not clear whether the disks were replacement system install/restore disks or full retail install, but it's a free call.
When you do "About this Mac" to check teh OS verion, also look at the processor speed and tell us what that says. That can help with recommendations for an upgrade path. -
i broke my iphone and got a new one. My iCloud backup has a backup from the old phone and one from the new phone. The new phone didnt download everything from the original icloud backup. Is there a way to download the stuff i didnt get back? please help
You'll have to do another restore from the old phone backup. But before doing that, tell us what was not restored. For example is it just photos that didn't get restored? If so, that seems to be a common problem for many users, judging by the posts left in the forum. There doesn't seem to be a solution to that problem (other then to tell users to ALWAYS sync photos to a computer and never trust an iCloud backup/restore to save photos.

I have a major client whose invoicing system only supports up to version 3 of Firefox. I'd love to be able to invoice them from home, but I don't want to downgrade my newest version of Firefox just for them.
Is there a way to download Firefox 3 and install it, while still maintaining my version 6? I am using a new MacBookPro with OS 10.6.8.you can restore from your backup again just to get the notes. once you've restored from the backup, copy your notes into your icloud notes group or email them to yourself - basically, get them somewhere else so they're not just locally stored on the device. once you've moved your notes elsewhere, restore the device as new again like apple had you do. this will again put a fresh version of the operating system on your phone like it has right now
there's no other way to access the notes that are in your backup
