okay so i went to a friends' house and i left my ipod nad bag at my other friends house. is there a way to locate it?

- If you previously setup the FindMyiPod feature via Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud, sign in, and go to FindMyiPhone, The you can its general locate and can wipe the iPod. Once wiped, you will not longer be able to locate or communicate with the iPod. If the iPod has been restored you will also not find it. You can also have the iPod play asound so maybe you can hear it.
- Report to police and change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod for safety.
- Apple will not help

It might be possible if you had the Find My iPod Touch app installed on it. If it's a 4G iPod Touch, you could try calling yourself via FaceTime if you had that set up as well. If the volume is up high enough or you are close enough in proximity, you might be able to hear it.
Otherwise, there really aren't any other ways of using your computer to help locate it. Sorry.

I realise you can you can delete them on your ipod slowly as you have to click on each one, and you can restore your ipod, but surely there is a way to get around this?

Was your backuip copy of your computer stolen as well?
If not, then use it to put everything back.
If it was stolen as well, then you can try contacting itunes support and asking for and exception to the one download. They are under no obligation to allow this, but it is worth a shot.
