Is there an internet browser component in swing or awt?

Im developing an internet browser using swing, is there any component or that?

If you just need to open a url you can use
java.awt.Desktop.getDesktop().open(...);
should check first if desktop is present and OPEN is supported, otherwise there are some snippet you can google that search/launch a browser based on OS.
If you need to integrate a browser in your app, as far as I know, SWT makes it easier.
Bye.

  • HTML viewer component based on Java AWT ?

    Who knows about projects/sourcecode/etc. for a browser component based on only AWT and NO SWING ? I only need a simple HTMLViewer which does not use Swing (restriction because I want to run it on PDA with PersonalJava). I do not necessarily need a full blown browser, but just the most common and basic HTML tags.
    Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Is this to reduce the clutter of suggestions on the address bar, or for some other reason?
    You can change the address bar drop-down so it only suggest bookmarked sites instead of everything in your history. This article describes how to make that change: [[Awesome Bar - Find your bookmarks, history and tabs when you type in the address bar]] (see the section "How can I control what results the location bar shows me?").
    Am I on the right track?
    (I'm avoiding the really hard question of how to selectively cull your history. I can't think of a way to do that.)

  • Problem in Opening HTML Page in Internet Explorer from my Swing Application

    Hi,
    I am opening a HTML file in Internet Explorer from my swing application.I am using the code given below
    private final static String WIN_FLAG = "url.dll,FileProtocolHandler";
    private final static String WIN_PATH = "rundll32";
    String cmd = WIN_PATH + " " + WIN_FLAG + " " + url;
    // url is HTML file Path
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec( cmd );
    Here there are two things i need to address ...
    1)The HTML file is opening up,but it always opens behind the swing application,that makes me every time to maximize the HTML file after it being opened up.I want to open it in front of the Swing Application.I need to implement "Always On Top" functionality for the html page.
    2)Whenever i trigger action to open different HTML page,it opens in new Internet Explorer window.
    I need to open it in same IE window.
    how to solve out these problems ??? any help would be greatly appreciated .Thanks in advance.

  • My 6th generation Ipod Classic will not eject, works fine otherwise and properly goes thru sync cycle.  A message shows files are in use and device can't be ejected.  If I close my internet browser it will eject properly every time.

      I have a new HP Pavilion running Windows 7 with lots of memory and a terabyte of storage, using iTunes 11 with a 6th generation Ipod Classic.  Have used my current iPod for years with no problem until today; when I try to eject the device iTunes stops responding, there is a delay of about 10-15 seconds until a message box pops up: "the ipod cannot be ejected as there are files in use."  It also won't eject from the windows taskbar, same type of message appears. iTunes remains unresponsive until I click "ok" on the message box. I've reset the ipod twice and disabled the "enable disk use" button for the ipod -- with no change in symptom.
      I am not certain as to the fix but am 100% sure that the problem does not occur if I close my open browser; it occurs only when I have an Internet browser open.  I experimented with Google Chrome that I normally use, and also with Internet Explorer -- when either browser is being used the ipod cannot be ejected.
      I've used iTunes 11 for about 3-4 weeks and this problem had not occurred until today.

    I have had similar issues with mine, happens mainly if I transfer songs and then decide to disconnect my iPod to listen to them with my IEMs (I use Interenet Explorer in my case and it is not neccessarely up when this happens, so I seriously doubt it is an issue conencted to the web browser). I have no patience for this so my trick is I try to eject it from iTunes, if that does not work, then I bring Windows explorer up, right mouse click on the iPod mounted drive and select Eject. It gives me the same warning but there is a third button selection called Continue. When I choose that it just disconnets the drive anyway and the iPod is finally disconnected. It seems to work each and every time I do it so this solution is fine for me. Would be intersting to see what the real root cause of this is because I started getting this problem with the newer iTunes 11.

  • Can't Open more than One Internet Browser at a Time

    I bought a Toshiba laptop this past spring which I use, offline, at the office.  i've had a problem with it since the day I hooked it up to the internet the first time.  I can't open more than one internet browser at a time.  Windows 7.  I had need to get online with it today and had forgotten about this problem.
    I called Toshiba and they wanted to sign me up to some fee-based service.  They said, without checking anything (or even asking me who I am, or what my computer serial number is) that I had a virus.  Is there a virus going around that causes this problem?  IF so, how could I possibly get it considering I bought this computer in a sealed box?
    My AV software does not pick up any viruses.  I use Avast.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks.

    There's a handy reference for keyboard shortcuts here:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Keyboard-shortcuts
    That Windows key turns out to be useful, try Windows-D to show the desktop
    To open a new browser window, Ctrl-n while in the browser will probably work, or it your browser supports tabs, try Ctrl-t

  • Internet browsing ludicrously slow after upgrading to Mavericks

    Hi All,
    I wonder if someone could possibly offer some suggestions please.
    Everything was fine and running sweetly on ML.
    After upgrading to Mavericks, Internet browsing has become ridiculously slow.
    Safari, Chrome and Firefox all exhibit the same problems.
    Spotlight isn't indexing, and nothing else is 'hogging' any resources.
    There are no issues with my routher or modem ad my WindozePC works just fine.
    I have seen posts by people recommending clearing the Cache and Preferences files.
    Within these folders though, are settings I don't want to lose. (reg info for software etc.)
    Due to geographical restrictions, a trip to the Genuis Bar isn't an option.
    Could someone please offer some advice?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hold down the Option key while emptying the Trash.
    As for your Mac running slower... make sure there's enough free disk space.
    Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
    Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.

  • HT5730 After I installed 10.8.48.4 Internet browsing slowed down to the pace of a dial-up connection.  How can I get back to normal operating speed?

    After I installed 10.8.4, my Internet browsing slowed down to the pace of a dial-up connection -- unless it froze up completely.  How do I get my system back to a normal operating mode?  Can I dump 10.8.4 and go back to the one that at least worked?

    Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them.
    1. Have you restarted your router and broadband modem since you first noticed the problem? If the answer is no, do that now and see whether there's any change.
    2. Are any other web browsers installed, and are they also slow?
    3. What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
    4. Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and are they also slow?
    5. If you can test Safari on another network, is it slow there too?
    6. If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?

    Hi Prosun Bondopadhyay  ,
                   Component controller is the base of a wda component. its can be considered as the base class. all the other views can be considered as the sub classes of component  controller. so without the base class there is no existence for sub class rt?
    like we can use all the methods and attributes of a component controller(main class) across all the view(sub class) and the viceversa is not possible.
    hence we cannot create a wda without component controller.

  • Green "Back" Button Doesn't Work in Internet Browser

    I am using the integrated Internet browser. If I navigate to the Google home page, do a search and select a page from the search results, pressing the green "previous" button doesn't result in the search results page being displayed. Instead the current page is re-loaded. If I keep pressing the green button, I can eventually get back to the search results (because I am jumping back quicker than the page can re-load).Is there another browser app I can try, or is there any setting i can change?The TV is a KDL32W706B.

  • Unable to view all the pdf menu bar in internet browser

    We are working on a web application where we have to provide options to users to edit pdf directly(like changing the text) and save to the server again. I installed acrobat professional on my machine to develop the code. But when i open the pdf in my web application(i.e Microsoft Internet Browser..) it is just showing few tool bars, but i need to load all the menu bars so that user can use all the menus which is available for adobe professional. Thanks for your help.

    When viewing a PDF in a web browser, one is using a special plugin for the web browser to read PDF files. I have the same problem when I have an Excel file opened in a web browser, there is no Excel menu bar or toolbars.  You might be able to add some JavaScirpt to the PDF to display the necessary tool bars.
    I always wondered why they call these internet viewers browsers.

  • BlackBerry Z10 Internet Browser pops up 8 preview windows - how do you pick what is in the 8 preview windows ?

    In main Home Display, I click Browser and it pops up 8 preview window panes for me, which is most helpful.  I have some there I use frequently such as a traffic site.  But, my 8 preview window panes have no button I can click which allows me to add a window to that, nor any way I can see to remove 6 of the 8 I have no interest in ever seeing again, ever.
    How do I delete 1 of the 8 preview window panes in Internet Browser, and replace the 8 with what I want to show-up there please ?
    Thank you.

    I deleted the Bookmarks for the 6 of the 8 I never want to see again.  They still fill-up 6 of the 8 slots.  I have no interest in those 6 and cannot figure out how to get rid of 6 of the 8.  I have 6 others I definitely do want to have with the 2 of the 8 I already have in there, like the Traffic.

  • Internet Browser

    I usually use my MBP on a home network that has a TiBook as the only other computer. One of my important email accounts happens to be on Hotmail, which I can't check in Safari because MSN is weird. That, and some other site incompatibilities, are why I have Firefox. However, I can only run Firefox (or Opera or Mozilla) when the MBP is on that home network. The only web browser I can use is Safari.
    When I try to open anything else (i.e. not Safari) and I am not on my home network, I get a window saying "State of AFP Connection" and a message saying it is looking for the TiBook. If I hit cancel, the window just pops back up a little later and I never get a browser window. If I don't hit cancel, it searches for a minute or so and I get an error message saying "The server might not exist or is not available at this time. Check the name or IP address of the server and try again." When I AM connected to the home network, as soon as I visit a web page the MBP automatically mounts the TiBook's hard drive in the finder. Once the hard drive is mounted, Firefox works fine.
    I have uninstalled Firefox, Opera, etc. and reinstalled several times, with nothing fixing the problem. When I uninstall, I do a Spotlight search for everything containing the name "Firefox" or "Mozilla" and delete it. I'm assuming there's some browser profile somewhere that I need to delete since the problem is not exclusively limited to Firefox (I've tried Opera and Mozilla and have had the same problem), but I don't know what/where that file may be. Any clues on what I can do to get my backup browser working?

    Pretty strange!
    Did you ever use those Browsers to connect to the TiBook?
    Is the TiBook set to Automount on the MBP?
    Firefox uses it's own Proxies/DNS, whereas Safari uses the System Proxies/DNS, don't know on Opera.
    Ever use Internet Sharing on the two?
    Ever install anything like Speed Download?
    Might look in Startup Items & Login Items for clues.
