There's generally no reason to be closing them that way at all. The apps you see in the recents bar are just that, apps that you used recently. Most of them are doing absolutely nothing. The only apps that are really doing anything in the background are ones that play music and ones that are using location services. Just leave them be.

You'll need to rip the DVDs to your hard drive using a tool such as Handbrake. Be sure to rip them in an iPad compatible format. Then you can drag them into iTunes and sync them to your device. It is a little bit of work but that's really the only way without (as you say) rebuying them in iTunes.

I have had an 8100 for some time. Recently the desktop will communicate to the 8100 via bluetooth but Windows does not recognize the 8100 when I plug it in via USB. I have tried downloading and reinstall the desktop with no luck.

Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these.

Foxfire just updated to 3.6.14. Now when I open Facebook, in the secured site, it keeps asking the name of this computer each and every single time. Facebook does not recognize the computer, as it did before.

As above, whenever I reopen Facebook, I have to put in my log in information, and then I have to put in "home", as the name of my computer, and I have to do this each time I open up Facebook, after I just got the new Firefox update to 3.6.14.

Anyone who has had a webcam failure where the "device manager does not recognize the hardware"?

Device manager does not recognize trueVision HD webcam. Tried all the suggestions on HP website, which eventually says it's a hardware failure. Has anyone had any resolution to this issue? I see the problem occurs across various platforms with varying resolutions to the problem.

Solution.... If your laptop does not recognize the built-in camera at all in the device manager and your warranty has expired or your willing to void your warranty. You can see if you have the same problem as I had. Gently pry the plastic frame around your camera and display screen apart you need to go at least half way down the sides. There is also some adhesive tape you will need to push to one side or the other. To the right of the camera there is a very small connector, it wont even look as if it is separated. Use a tweezer or small screwdriver to push the connector into the socket. This fixed my problem ...The next startup recognized the camera and has worked perfectly since. In my opinion (13yrs experience in reliability engineering semiconductor manufacturing) this is a manufacturing reliability issue either the socket cannot hold the connector in place or there is too much strain on the wiring to the connector. Thank you for your reply, i have tried what you suggest, and it did not work, the i DVD opening title changed but not the embedded movie.
Perhaps it is a setting in Final Cut Express?
After capturing my footage, i open a new project then i convert all clips to anamorphic, to give me the letterbox effect, i have tried now with and without anamorphic.
In my canvas screen, the footage does not fill the square, even if i have not selected anamorphic, and fall well within the TV safe areas, but the only way to ill the canvas up is to crop it bigger, but still when i export it does not give me the full screen view.
Any ideas?

Ipod touch will not turn on and computer does not recognize the device

I tried resetting my ipod touch, but there is still no response. I have had it plugged into the computer for a couple of days. I don't know if it is charging or what because the screen won't turn on and the computer does not recognize the device. I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes, as well as restarting my computer several times. Does anyone know what to do? I would try restoring it, but like I said my computer doesn't recognize it and itunes doesn't either. Thanks!

I just had a similar problem and tried all of the reboot techniques with no success. I knew it had to be a connection issue inside the iPod, and grasping at straws, I sprayed a little WD-40. I dried it off and let it sit overnight. Today at lunch I plugged it in to my wall charger and it began charging.
***FYI I know they don't recommend spraying WD-40 on your iPod, but it was a last resort for me. I was at the point of paying to send it in for repairs or throwing it away. I wouldn't try this unless you are ready to throw yours away too.

I followed all the instructions on the suggested page. Many files in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\ and C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\ could not be deleted. Message said ""Cannot delete files: It is being used by another person or program"' but could not find iPodService.exe in task manager (also, the "Cannont delete ... " did not mention iPodService.exe).
Deleted all that I could. Reinstalled iTunes. Still same result. iTunes and computer both recognize my old iPod. Only the computer recognizes iPod Touch.

I have had this problem for sometime, but have lived with it. I have my iPod touch 1G connected to a Windows XP PC for syncing charging etc. If I unplug the iPod touch and use it for a while not connected to the PC and then plug in into the USB port, iTunes does not recognize the touch and I have to do a complete reboot of the windows PC. Is there a work around for this problem?

Entity Framework cannot convert ToString() to SQL. Create the object after you have fetched the results:
