Is there any way for my ipad to piggyback the internet from my iphone when i am not in a wifi area... The guy at the ATT

Is there any way for my ipad to piggyback the internet from my iphone without having to purchase a "plan" from ATT&T....The guy at the store said that I had to purchase a new plan with "so much" GB per month and loose my unlimited amount that I am grandfathered into with my current plan... any thoughts?

Unfortuneatly, you would have to give up your unlimited plan. In the US you would have to get the 2GB plan for $25 and add the teathering plan for $20 more.  The teathering plan would give you another 2GB of data for a total 4GB.

  • Is there any way to remove App Store and iCloud Account from my Iphone without knowing passwords??

    I dont know the icloud  account passwords becouse i bought iphone from e friend.... Is there anyway to remove those Accounts so i can set up my account becose i cant install new apps without his password...

    You cannot remove the iCloud account without the password if the iPhone is running iOS 7 (check under Settings > General > About > Version). You can sign out of the App Store under Settings > iTunes & App Stores. This part does not require their password.

  • I have an iphone and an ipad (which are connected by the same apple id) i broke the phone and sold it but i didnt get to factory reset it because it was broken, is there any way for me to wipe my iphone from my ipad?

    i have an iphone and an ipad (which are connected by the same apple id) i broke the phone and sold it but i didnt get to factory reset it because it was broken, is there any way for me to wipe my iphone from my ipad?

    Try this:
    Open the "Find my iPhone" app on your iPad, fill in your AppleID and password at the start up screen, and you should see a list of all your devices and their current location, if connected to a Wi-Fi or mobile data network. Devices not connected will be shown as "offline". But you can still trap on the icon and hit "erase iPhone" in the right hand window.
    If your iPhone is not listed, you did not activate this feature during the setup of the phone and it can't be erased remotely.
    If the phone is listed, even as offline, tap on "erase" to send the erase command. The next time your device will be connected to any kind of network, the content will be erased.

    This may not be exactly what you are looking for but my wife and I have a similar situation and all we do is invite each other to any calendar stuff we both need to know about. Another way you could do it is us a 3rd party calendaring that will duplicate all your entries on their server and your wife would do the same and setup a single account with that service that you both attach to your built in calendaring provided you give proper permissions. The one I would try is google calendaring which works well if you have a gmail account.

    Is there any way for me to get my music off of my iPod? I had to get a new computer and no longer have my files, most of it is cds...

    Your iPod can only be synced with one computer at a time.  If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, it will replace the contents of the iPod with whatever is in the new library. You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabling the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
    Before doing anything else,  authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account.  In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
    Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.

    Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc.  For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases.  For all other nonpurchased iTunes content, see this excellent user tip from another forum member turingtest2 outlining the different methods and software available to help you copy content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.
    Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
    Once the backup has been made and all other synced content such as music, videos, and photos are back in your iTunes library, restore your iPod from that backup you made earlier.  Here is more on backing up and restoring your iPod.

    If you do happen to lose any purchased content, you can always redownload it from the iTunes Store again at no cost via iCloud.  See this article for information.

  • I accidentally formatted my portable hard drive when setting it up for time machine. Is there any way for me to get back my lost files?

    I have an external hard drive of the brand Western Digital.
    Before I got my iMac I moved a lot of my important files from my PC to the hard drive and today I went on and connected it to my iMac to move my files over to it.
    When it had connected a window popped up that asked if I wanted to use this hard drive with the program Time Machine and create backups. Without thinking it trough enough and reading the warning properly (I'm stupid I know) I clicked "yes". I then realised how stupid it was and cancelled the formatting of the hard drive. But somehow the program still managed to delete all my important files and can't find any way to get them back. Neither can I connect the hard drive to my PC anymore so I can't check if the files are still there (which I doubt they are since I can't see them on my iMac either).
    And now I wonder: is there any way for me to get back my lost files or are they lost forever?
    Thank you in advance!
    //Gina

    A data recovery specialist or some data recovery programs should be able to help.  Most format simply rewrite the directory tree saying no files are on this disk.  The bits that represent the files are still flipped appropreiately so they still exists, you just don't have the location info to get at them.  Secure formats and erases rewrite each bit to a zero or 1 or random so the data is then truely gone.  This type of format takes a long time to complete.
    I'm not making a recomendation of a particular program but here is one company that does what you ask:
    http://www.remosoftware.com/mac-recovery  The cost is pretty high but I'm sure they don't sell many copies and need to cover their development costs.
    Good luck and don't write anything on the freshly formatted disk until you decide what to do.

  • I recently gave my old iPhone to my nephew, he switched it to his phone account, but somehow I now have his contacts on my new iPhone 5. When I look at my iCloud account, it lists his contacts. Is there any way for me to get my contacts back?

    I recently gave my old iPhone to my nephew, I did not clear out my old phone before I gave it to him, when he transferred to his account, he had my iCloud info on the phone, and it updated the contacts on my new iPhone 5 to his contacts. Is there any way for me to get my contacts back?

    This is caused by using the same iCloud account on both phones.  When you do this any data you sync with the shared iCloud account such as contacts is merged and will appear on all devices connected to the account.  To fix this you both need to have separate iCloud accounts (you can continue to share the same Apple ID for purchasing from the iTunes and app stores).
    Decide which iPhone will be keeping the current iCloud account.  On the one that will be changing accounts, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else save these to your camera roll by opening the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tapping Edit, then tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll.
    Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The phone that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iPhone.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
    Finally, to un-merge the data you will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't want (i.e., deleting your nephew's data from your account, and vice versa).
    As for recovering your lost contacts, if they aren't on icloud.com when you check from your computer, you will have to recover them from a backup source.  You could try restoring to your last backup but this doesn't always work for contacts.  (Chances are you nephew deleted your contacts from his phone, not realizing it would also delete them from yours.)

  • HT1338 I have MacBook with OS 10.5.8. Is there any way for me to install and run keynote on this machine? Do I need to upgrade OS and how? Thanks

    I have MacBook with OS 10.5.8
    Is there any way for me to install and run Keynote on this machine? Thanks

    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
    Keynote '09 is compatible with your computer, but you won't get the latest Keynote version running that version. As you have an Early 2008 MacBook, first I recommend you to update to Mac OS X Snow Leopard to get newer versions of all applications but without losing any applications > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard Make a backup before upgrading.
    The DVD contains Mac OS X 10.6.3, so after upgrading, open  > Software Update to update to 10.6.8. Then, you will get access to the App Store.
    However, the Keynote version available in the App Store is only compatible with OS X 10.7.5 or newer, so now you have two options:
    1. Upgrade to OS X Lion and purchase Keynote from the App Store.
    2. Keep Mac OS X Leopard or Snow Leopard, and buy Keynote on a DVD in eBay or Amazon. Note that you won't be running the most recent Keynote version, but it doesn't mind (the latest version only adds iCloud support)

  • Is there any way for me to remove a broken audio jack stuck in my macbook?

    is there any way for me to remove a broken audio jack stuck in my macbook?

    You'll have to get a Dremel motor tool and some fine metal bits, make a jig to hold the Dremel so it's stationary, then a slider jig for the MacBook Pro so the bit can drill into the center of the stuck plug.
    Gently push the MBP against the drill bit so it drills into the stuck plug.
    Once the hole is drilled down deep enough, use some metal to metal epoxy resin to glue the bit into the drilled hole, then let it set up according to directions.
    Take a pair of vise-grips and get a good grip on the bit portion sticking out and gently pull it straight out, if you bend or twist, you can snap off the bit.

  • My iCloud on my phone is undJer another persons account I however am no longer with them and want to cut all ties and is there any way for me to change my iCloud account or will it affect my phone? And it's photos, apps, music?

    My iCloud on my phone is under another persons account I however am no longer with them and want to cut all ties and is there any way for me to change my iCloud account or will it affect my phone? And it's photos, apps, music?

    You have to delete the iCloud account but you can keep all your data such as Contacts, Calendars etc. when you delete the account you will prompted to "Keep on my iPhone".
    All your purchased content (like apps and music from iTunes Store) belongs to the original ID and you have to re-Purchase them under your Apple ID.
    Photos in Camera Roll remains in Camera Roll.
    Photos in photo stream that are not in Camera Roll must be saved in Camera Roll.
    Photo that previously synced from iTunes remains in photo library until you synced with another iTunes library (another computer).
    Also sign out from iMessages, FaceTime and Home sharing (Settings>Music)

    Is there any way on an iPad Air to see your dictation as you speak

    You can use the built in Siri voice functions in many text apps, (Notability is good) to have it type as you speak, also Dragon Dictation is available in app store and uses its own method rather than Siri.

  • Is there any way for me to get a 5th generation ipod touch 16gb with both cameras?

    i really wanna get an ipod touch 5th generation but i also want the forward and out facing cameras, and for me $200 is already kind of expensive for me, let alone $300, is there any way for me to get an ipod 5th gen without the extra $100?

    Like JEM24 said, Certified Refurbished is an Apple item which has been used but been checked over and (if necessary) repaired.
    Also, the iPod Touch 4th Generation is 3 years old and cannot get iOS 7 - meaning some apps can't run on it.
    Once again, here is the certified refurbished link: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/ipod/ipod_touch
    Hope this helps!

  • Is there any way for a basemap to be manipulated from the client side?

    Hello,
    Essentially, we have a basemap (+basemap A+) that contains boundary geography (i.e., county, tract, block boundaries) and we have a theme (+theme A+) that contains housing unit points.
    The idea is that theme A will be a layer that the user will be able to switch on/off. We know how to do this, but the problem comes in where performance is concerned.
    Previously, theme A was actually included in basemap A, and performance was not an issue, but the problem then was that the user was not able to turn that layer on/off.
    Also I have done everything I know in terms of caching as well as using the mapviewer API
    (e.g.,
    test_theme.setClickable(false);
    test_theme.enableInfoWindow(false);
    test_theme.enableInfoTip(false);
    test_theme.enableLabels(false);
    test_theme.enableAutoWholeImage(true);
    test_theme.setMinVisibleZoomLevel(5);),
    but rendering the theme on the client side is still way too slow (even at zoom level 5).
    So, my question boils down to this. Is there any way for a basemap to be manipulated by a user? I.e., Is there a way for a user to pass parameters to a basemap, essentially telling it which themes to turn on/off?
    I know you can specify which zoom level the basemap's themes are visible, but again, we want the user to be able to have control of when a certain theme is shown or not.
    Thank you for any help you can provide,
    John

    What you may try is to replicate your base map but take the point theme out of its definition. Then create a second tile layer for the new base map. You can add both tile layers to the client (but set only one of them to be visible). Then simply switch the tile layers' visibility on/off based on user turning on/off the point theme. The built-in Oracle Maps tutorial #22 (Multiple Base maps) has some sample code you might be able to re-use.
    thanks
