Is there any way to enforce password encryption?

I analyzed the network traffic while executing the following code:
Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
"com.evermind.server.ApplicationClientInitialContextFactory");
env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "ormi://myhost:23799/ejbtest1");
env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "admin");
env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "welcome");
Context context = new InitialContext(env);
Object homeObject = context.lookup("java:comp/env/Ejb1");
Ejb1Home home = (Ejb1Home)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(homeObject, Ejb1Home.class);
Ejb1 bean = (Ejb1) PortableRemoteObject.narrow(home.create(), Ejb1.class);
bean.doWork();
bean.remove();
Password ("welcome") in the network traffic was unencrypted. Is there any way to enforce its encryption?

One possible technique is outlined here:

    That is what Activation Lock of iOS 7 does
    In addition, it renders the iPhone totally useless to anyone who doesn't know your Apple ID and password.

  • Is there any way to import passwords to Firefox 4 from Google Chrome?

    I know Google Chrome can import nearly everything from Firefox, but is the other way around possible, too?

    If you used the option to delete settings, or whatever it is worded when uninstalling, Firefox will remove all your important data information from profiles for all installed versions of Firefox, and you will then need luck and a file recovery utility to try to restore the information.
    You mentioned files being moved to Trash, I was hoping you may still have the required original files. I use Windows XP, and I realise Macs use different locations for files, but I think the files have the same names.

  • Is there any way to limit password retrys in the email client?

    i.e. once two failed attempts, stop trying?  we have users getting their accounts locked and they leave their devices at home, so they lose an entire day of work

    No way I know of, no.

  • Is there any way to hide our source code  in browser

    in web browser by using the
    view -----> source
    one can see the source of that page..
    is there any way to hide it.

    Encryption/decryption solutions are only useful if you want to "hide" the source from point to point and it is meaningless if you want to hide source from the client (the other point).
    The question of interest is here: why do you want to hide the source from the client?
    If it is really an important requirement, consider an applet or a standalone application instead of webapplications. Although it is harder to do, but those can still be reverse engineered.

  • Is there a way to place an encrypted document on the iPhone, a document that contains passwords and private information, really well protected from hackers?

    Is there a way to place an encrypted document on the iPhone, a document that contains passwords and private information, really well protected from hackers?
    Can such a document be exempted from the cloud feature, a feature that I use for the rest of my stuff?
    If so, how can I do this?

    Yeah, but 1Password charges for both the iPhone client AND the Mac/Windows client, and it ain't cheap! Plus, it only syncs via Dropbox, and where I work Dropbox is banned due to security concerns.
    Sure, there is Secure Notes, a free form entry part of 1Password, but a bug in the program will not let you view all the text you can put in the field!! You have to EDIT the text to see the whole list! What if you accidentally delete or change an entry while scrolling through your entries??
    Plus NONE of the programs I have tried, and I have tried a lot, can find text IN the file - do a search and it will tell you what file/folder the text is in, but YOU have to scroll down through 400 entries one at a time looking for the entry.
    I use a program called Secure Text - I have many admin passwords, and DO not need a field based program. Secure Text is totally freeform entry. However, it suffers from the same search issue.
    If someone knows of a secure text program that uses a file/folder type of layout, free form entry, AND can actually tell you where in the file/folder the text you searched for is, PLEASE let me know! Plus sycing via some method other than Dropbox would be a plus.
    Before I got my iPhone, I used a program called Tombo for my WinCE based system AND my Windows workstation, and the synced up fine without iTunes, internet, DropBox type functionality or any of that horsecoller stuff Apple likes to throw on your neck.

    No there's not.  Otherwise that wouldn't be very secure, would it?

  • I accidently deleted a voice mail message.  Is there any way to retrieve it?  I was told I had to talk with technical support to reset the password to my voice mail. Can someone tell me how to do this?  When I call, I can't understand the other person

    Depends on your carrier.  You'll have to contact your carrier for how to do this.  (This is for AT&T: http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=52649#fbid=WLddP4KyTAu.)

    My itunes account was disabled for some reason.  I changed password in iforgot and still didn't work.  I could log in and see my music but not make purchases from the store or even redeem an itunes gift card so I set up a new login/account with another email account of mine. On the new account I can redeem my gift card and download items onto my ipad2.  Is there any way to move my music to the new account?

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
    Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
    When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
    Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
    Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

  • Is there any way to bypass MacBook Pro passwords?

    Hi everyone!
    I have the newest model MacBook pro and me and my moms side of the family are currently fighting and my stepdad decided to take my MacBook pro from me (which I worked all summer for to buy) and threatened me that if I don't give them them the password for it that I'll never see it again, it's going to get smashed, that he'll send it to on apple and have them give him the password (lol), or send it to his uncle who works on computers to bypass the passwords.
    I am moving out and I have the money to buy a new one if need be but I don't see the point in buying a new one if I have one that works perfectly... However at th same time I stand up for what I believe in and because they never asked once nicely for the computers password and have made these threats I put up the lost MacBook password through find my mac so now there's two.... Is there any way they'll be able to get through it if they send it to someone who "works" on computers.

    It is very user friendly, just read each step and follow directions
    At this point you should start over.   Connect via cable to the computer (turn off wifi) Use iTunes to restore to factory settings and content.
    Then start the set up as a new device again.
    Pay close attention so you select English.
    Select NO PASSCODE, it will question this, select no passcode again.
    If you want a passcode, set it up afterwards and carefully enter and record it.

  • I lost all my passwords from the previous version of Firefox when I upgraded to Firefox 4. I have all the files. Is there any way to import them into Firefox 4?

    Typically, when I have upgraded a program, all of the bookmarks, passwords, etc. have transferred to the newest version but, for some reason that did not happen with Firefox 4. I still have all my preferences files as they were moved to the trash. Is there any way I can import them back into the new version of Firefox as it is very frustrating to have lost them.

    Are you using the virtual keyboard to input your password and you cannot see/find the characters you need on that keyboard?
    Or are you trying to use a bluetooth keyboard and pressing the printed key does not produce the right character?

  • Is there any way to read a ......... password on my iPad?

    I just bought an iPad Air and my Ymail account keeps asking for my password, however I must have forgotten it , my iPad3 is still receiving mail from my Ymail account but I have agreed to sell it to a friend, to complicate matters my rescue email address held at Ymail is obsolete.
    My question to the community is:
    Is there any way to 'see' the password in settings on my iPad3, so that I can put it into my iPad Air?
    TIA

    Thanks for your replies guys, luckily I found the password on my Mac Book Air from which I set up the Ymail account originally and it was the same password that I had entered on the iPad Air but for some reason it didn't accept it, so I started second guessing myself! Happy ending

    is there any way to block the shutdown of the device is protected by password? This function would help in case of theft with the issue of the find my iphone app.

    Device experiences issues, locks up.
    I need to do a reset.
    How would I do that with a pass code lock in place?
    Wait until the battery dies?
    Apple's changes in iOS 7 are smarter.
    "Losing your iOS device feels lousy. Thankfully, Find My iPhone can help you get it back. But if it looks like that’s not going to happen, new security features in iOS 7 make it harder for anyone who’s not you to use or sell your device. Now turning off Find My iPhone or erasing your device requires your Apple ID and password. Find My iPhone can also continue to display a custom message, even after your device is erased. And your Apple ID and password are required before anyone can reactivate it. Which means your device is still your device. No matter where it is."
