Is there any way to keep streaming the audio portion of a video podcast when I leave the Podcast app?

If I leave the Podcast app while playing an audio podcast, I can still hear the audio. However, if I leave a video podcast to do something else like answer emails, the audio portion doesn't keep playing. This means that if I have a video podcast going, I can't do anything else with my iPad while it's playing. I multitask all the time while playing my podcasts and then come back to the video if it sounds like there is something interesting to see. This one glitch unfortunately makes the Podcast app unusable for me. I'll keep using the Downcast app for a while longer because of this but if Apple fixes this problem, I'll be back since the rest of the app looks great.

Thanks Kiwi. It doesn't make sense to me though, as that would seem to be only a simple change in the operating system, not a hardware 'necessity'.

Good for you that can't update your iphone because I did it and my iphone dosen't work for example I can't download any app like Wecaht or Twitter..

I know I am responding to my own thread, but I an SOOOO disgusted with Apple right now.
The new iOS 7 was the lead story on CNN today... and it wasn't positive. Easy to see why, it's a graphics disaster. It is ugly, difficult to read, doesn't interface aesthetically with the iPhone 4S, and gives everyone in America vertigo. Either fix the appearance, or find some way to allow us to roll back to our previous iOS. Do so quickly, or this life-long Apple customer [circa 1978] will be moving on. If this represents shades of what is coming with OS Maverick, I am petrified. Further, I am a GM of a chain of newspapers and websites in the Austin, Texas area. I will be ripping out a scathing editorial. The notion that we can't roll back from something millions of us hate is despicable. I'm giving you one week. Be sure I am not alone.

You could try changing the settings in System Preferences/Security & Privacy/General/Advanced/Require an Administator password to access locked preferences
But this will affect all Preference settings.

My query is i cannot select vibrate alert ON for receiving calls alone, i noticed that turning on or off for vibrate is common for both calls and messaging. is there any way to keep vibrating ON for calls only and not for messages please advise me on this issue. Even if i turn OFF for Message option the phone still vibrates when receiving SMS , atleast is there a update for this option to select separate vibrate option for both calls and messaging.. Haven't seen anything like that in any S40 phone. So I don't think its ever possible. It will either vibrate for everything or nothing.

As much as I understand that declined meetings are deleted from the calendar, is there any way to keep them so that I can recall the dates of these meetings, and request updates or summaries? I wish they were grayed out so I could still refer to the data.

There isn't one. When the computer wakes up, the display is on. You could set a screensaver with a dark background to start automatically after a certain amount of idle time, and require a password to unlock it, but you'd still see the bright login window.
It also occurs to me that you might be able to set up a task that would dim the screen automatically at a specified time, and brighten it at another time. If you're interested in that option, I'll look into it when I have the time.

There is an option to set a passcode for the entire iPhone. You can use the following steps to set this up:
You can configure a passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using Settings > General > Passcode Lock.
Once enabled, you will be prompted for the passcode whenever you:
Turn on or restart the device
Wake the device
Unlock the screen
Note: You can specify the amount of time the screen must be locked before requiring a passcode.

Unfortunately, iCloud does not offer equivalents to Mobile Me’s iDisk, Gallery or Web Hosting services. You will need to find a third party solution to replace these services. You might considerDropBox, SugarSync, MediaFire or any other service that offers online storage. (not all these alternatives offer all the services previously provided by iDisk)
So it won't matter whether you have Snow Leopard or Lion, you will not be able to upload your website to iCloud.

Periodically delete all apps from the recently-used bar (double clickHome button) and power off and then back on the iPod. With iOS 5, the iPod uses more memory (do not confuse with storage) and periodically you have to reclaim memory for use.
