Is there Sequential image Matte feature??

I'm currently working on animations needs some good composite tequnique.
I figured out how to use "Image Mask" under Effect-Video Filters and Matt section.
Is there any other feature that will do exactly same thing as "image mask" however, will also accept sequetial animation as "image" mask?
I'm not sure that make any sense...
after you applied "image mask" you have the place holder to insert image (the alpha channel area.. i think).
I can insert my sequential animation (black and white animation, black as being masked out) into the image place holder, however, it will only use first frame of the sequential animation as matte.
I want the matte also move along with actual animation with the black area is masked out.
I'm sorry for the very confusing language...
I hope it make some sort of sense to you, and someone can tell me if there is such a thing/plug in.
thank you....

put your background video on V1
put your animated mask on V2
put your foreground video on V3
select your forreground video track and chose Modify>Composite Mode>Travel Matte - Luma

  • Problem implementing image sharing feature using ANE

Has anyone implemented an image sharing feature on an Android app?
I tried out the ANE provided here http://www.smallscreendesign.com/2011/09/29/air-native-extensions-rock/ , but have been receiving the error below and have no idea what to do next.

  • CS3, Any way to keep image matte fixed when moving matted track?

OK, I saved my best for last.  Many of my edits include split screens or other multiple images (e.g., cameo circle).  Let's use a left half-right half example.  I use an image matte consisting of a PS half black-half white .psd file (merging all layers when importing to PR).  Video 1 gets one of the images to be split, Video 2 gets the other (as well as the Track Matte key).  The matte itself is in Video 3 (and the Track Matte key is configured to find it there).
Whenever I need to apply Motion to Video 2, be it up, down, sideways, or scale, the matte moves with it.  I need to apply a complementary Motion to the matte track.  This is most annoying.  I want a #^%@ half-and-half split screen.  I did it this way with 6.5 for years.  At least 6.5 had the good sense to decouple the matte from the matted track.
    So:
What am I missing?  Someone must have thought coupling the tracks was a good idea, even if I can't see it.
Is there some way to decouple the two a la 6.5?
If not, is there some other way to achieve what I want that avoids this frustration?
    Thanks for any insights.
    Larry

    Larry,
Another Bruce Hornsby moment ("That's just the way it is").
Had not thought of Bruce Hornsby, but that's a very good tie-in. You need to get points for that one!
Yes, many struggled with the "new & improved" Track Matte Keying behavior. "Feature" for some, and "anathema" to others. That happens when many file feature requests and have not passed those through the forum folk for comment first. Happens all the time. Sometimes, a new feature will break an old standby. Probably no one in development tested all scenarios, and thought they HAD improved something.
I had no idea what a Sequence was, nor what Nesting meant.  So I did the sensible thing and RTFM.  Wow!, my head's still spinning.  It's gonna take some experiments in a sandbox project to get all that straight.  Once I do, your suggestion will no doubt be very useful.
I probably should have gone into a bit more detail, but the Adobe server was kicking me off with greater frequency than usual, so I was trying to get the general info to you.
See, that manual is more than a paperweight! Actually, I'm a book-guy, so I usually fly with one of my manuals in the briefcase. Regardless of how many times I've read it, there is still an "aha moment," as I either discover something new, or finally find the right application from something that did not make complete sense with previous readings.
Hope that it all works, as it should ["should" referring to how things are now... ]
Wait until you go to Export a Still Frame in CS4. Once more, you'll wish for the "good old days." At least this was mostly fixed with CS4.1. Just be prepared for a "gottcha," when you upgrade and find that things have changed again.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Image Matte / mask independent of the video applied

I have a project in which I need to do a 3 or 4-way split screen. While it's easy to set that up and position them at the right places, I cannot seem to find a way with which I could change the scale of the video with an Image Matte applied without changing that of the Matte as well. I can use offset and push the video around "underneath", so to speak, but I would love to be able to scale that video underneath as well. I know that could be done with a layer on top obscuring the video below but I find that rather cumbersome, especially with 4-way or more, adding quite a few more layers.
    Any ideas?

Thank you for the comments and help above. Indeed there're many ways to achieve one effect.
My project is a 15mins cut with a lot of editing. The resulting footage is cutting in and out of 3/4-way splits every now and then. Most footages are at least 10mins long.
    1. Nesting
Nesting sequences would generate a huge number of nested sequences (which is already the case due to a few multi-cam moments).
    2. Putting clips into its own sequences
Again, I would have to go into the sequences and find the exact moment where I need to do the zooming and such.
Ideally, I would love to be able to:
    1. Create a preset of the each 'way' of splitting for individual clips. For example, in a 4-way split, presets for Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left and Bottom Right. And then I can just drop one of these effects onto a clip.
    2. scale the clip freely without going into another sequence or nested sequence. The matte stays there without being scaled
Sometimes I have nested sequence of anthoer nested sequence. It's just a project nightmare after a while. Anyway, well, I guess I'll just have to deal with it. Thanks!

  • Image matte key: batch processing possible?

    Hello again,
I have a question concerning batch processing with Premiere Pro CS5.5.
I would like to apply an image matte key to about 30 videos. The matte doesnt change, neither does the background photo.
I would like to know if there's a way to apply this to all the videos at the same time.
I have only been able to apply it to one video at a time, which means that I would have to do the same process 30 times. Because I have about 12 sets of background photos, I would have to do it about 360 times in the end. So batch processing would really help...
I need the videos to be seperate in the end (360 videos).
I hope someone has a solution for me. Thanks a lot in advance!!!

Check to see if this works:
Create and Import your Matte into PrPro. Place it on the desired Video Track, and then extend its Duration for all Clips on that Timeline. Apply the Track Matte Keying to the first Clip, and make the attributes adjustments to it. Rt-click that Clip, and choose Copy. Then lasso all other Clips in that Track, Rt-click on them and choose Paste Attributes. Does that work?
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - not sure if a Nested Sequence would also do what you want.

  • Can't get Image Matte Key to work in PP CS6 Mac

    Hi,
After tearing my hair and muttering adult phrases for a couple of hours while following the below instructions from the PP CS6 pdf manual, I still can't get anything but a black screen when trying to apply the Image Matte Key to a simple set-up. The project is in HD 1080p50 format and the basic editing has been largely problem free.
Add the clip (used as a background) to a video track in a Timeline panel.
Add the clip you want to superimpose to any track higher than the track containing the background clip. This is the clip revealed by the track matte. Be sure the superimposed clip overlaps the background clip in a Timeline panel.
In the Effects panel, click the triangle to expand the Video Effects bin and then click the triangle to expand the Keying bin.
Drag the Image Matte Key to the superimposed clip in a Timeline panel.
In a Timeline panel, select the superimposed clip.
In the Effect Controls panel, click the triangle to expand the Image Matte Key settings.
Click the Setup button , browse to the image being used as the matte, and then click Open to select the image.
(Optional) If you’re animating the Image Matte Key over time, make sure that the current-time indicator is in the position you want. Click the Toggle Animation icons for the settings you adjust.
Click the Composite Using menu and choose one of the following:
Matte Alpha Composites the clips using the alpha channel values of the image matte you selected in step 7. Matte Luma Composites the clips using the luminance values of the image matte you selected in step 7.
    What I do is:
    • I have a clip on Video 1. I want to use a hand painted luma matte made in PS CS6 for changing levels ('exposure') in an irregular area of the clip.
    • So,  I duplicate the clip on Video 2 and add an 'RGB Curves' fx for the level adjustment.
    • Then, I add the Image Matte Key to the Video 2 clip and set up the Photoshop b/w image (RGB 8 bit, 1920x1080) from my external eSATA disk containing the Project and media (step 7 above).
    • I select 'Matte Luma' (step 9) – and expect the relevant part (painted white on the matte .psd pic) of the duplicated, level adjusted clip to be superimposed on the Video 1 clip.
    • But I only get BLACK!
I tried using Track Matte Key, with the matte pic on Video 3 – no problem, worked just as expected.
So, what's the voodoo with Image Matte Key?
    Kind regards,
    Joachim

    Ann, Steven, Bill,
Thank you very much for your encouragement and duplication work! Truly appreciated.
This morning, with some fresh energy, I attacked the problem afresh and finally found the culprit(s).
It turned out that the major problem was the Photoshop file I originally prepared as a test matte. I created the original psd through the PP File menu to automatically get the correct dimensions. For some reason, it may have got corrupted. When it didn't work and just resulted in a black image, I used it as a template, changed it and resaved it. Apparently the problem was inherited to the resaved psd:s, even though they worked fine when imported into the project and used as mattes with Track Matte.
    Go figure…
Anyway, today I created a brand new matte file in PS CS6 and, lo and behold, Image Matte Key now worked as expected!
    Almost…
Going back to PS, I edited my simple matte (just two black rectangles on white) and applied a rather heavy blur. I then saved (not Save as…), deleted Image Matte Key from my fx stack in PP, reinstantiated Image Matte Key and set it up with the now resaved psd.
    No blur!
I then went back to PS, resaved my blurred matte file with a new file name and repeated the above exercise – first deleting and then reapplying Image Matte Key, setting it up with the new, blurred matte psd.
Now I got a blurred keying effect.
So, it seems that Image Matte Key won't 'see' a changed file – apparently it 'remembers' the first version of the file and refuses to accept the saved changes.
I think that I've seen a post here somewhere about the same or similar problem with PP CS5 or 5.5.
Anyway, I've learned a lot and again, thanks to you guys who chipped in!
    Kind regards,
    Joachim

  • Problems with Image Matte not staying connected to project.

    System: Dell
    Model: XPS 8300
Processor: Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
    RAM: 16 GB
System Type: Windows 7 Home Premium; Service Pack 1; 64 Bit Operating System
I've been having problems with my image matte(s) staying connected in my projects. It happens when I reload any project that has it. It's a real simple vignette used on black video. The image file is on the root of the project folder, so I don't see why it won't stay connected. Scratching my head on this one. Let me know if you need any more information.
    - NHerman

It's going offline and wants me to relink it again.
Hard drive is a standard drive. It hold 2 TBs of storage.
If it helps, I am also using a templated folder system that I copy for each project I do. This folder has this same file in it.

Aperture does not recognize that there are images to be imported on an SD card. My workaround is to copy the images from the SD card to a folder and then import the images from the folder. Aperture also imports incredibly slowly after the update to 3.4

Check your Import settings in the Import Panel, i.e. all that might exclude the image type you want to import:
If you did not exclude any file types, and still Aperture will not import, remove your ImageCapture preferences fro your user library:
To remove the image capture preferences:
If Aperture is running, quit Aperture,  and log off and on again.
Open your user library from the Finder's Go menu: Hit Command Shift G (⌘⇧G) and then type in: ~/Library/Preferences/  then hit return.
In the window that opens remove "com.apple.ImageCapture.plist"
and look into the subfolder "ByHost": if there are files named com.apple.ImageCapture  something .plist  remove them too.
    then try again.
And if that still does not help, remove the Aperture preferences as well:
    ~/Library/Preferences/aperture.plist
    Regards
    Léonie
P.S. in MacOS Lion and later the user library ~/Library is hidden by default.
You can reveal it also  from the Finder's "Go" menu:
Finder > Go,   then hold down the options ⌥ key, until the Library appears in the drop-down menu, select it and open the Library folder. Then go to the "Preferences".

  • Image Matte Keys' still images not being memorized

I have a video of the issue.
    Video is 4 min.
    Hello,
I am working on an experimental video project using a lot of image matte keys. Premiere CS5 has trouble memorizing the still images in the image matte keys. The keys fail to associate with the correct images.
The images are in Jpeg format. They share the same spec (res, pixel ratio, ect) as the sequence in Premiere. All media are stored on a 2TB Lacie external hdd using esata cable connection to the pc.
I am using this laptop to edit the project:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834246094
    Thanks in advance.

It's a weird bug with JPEG images.  Re-save all of your JPEGs in Photoshop, then they will always link to the correct image in your Pr project.  You can create an action in Ps to do that automatically.  You don't have to change the images at all, you just have to re-save them.

  • Producing musicals, I wish there was a "chunk" feature like in DP

Hi guys, especially iSchwartz, Jim, Rohan...
This is another day I wished there was a chunk feature like in DP.
Maybe you have a few tips for me.
I'm doing a recording of another musical: lots of songs, lots of dialogues, lots of special effects.
It would be so easy if I just could put the whole Arrangement together, including all songs, and if it would be possible to mix the songs in the "master arrangement" which includes all the dialogues and other fancy things.
They way I do it, is to mix each song seperately and import the bounced file to the master arrangement. And, as you know, they never fit together. The story acts in different locations and yeah, I choosed the wrong reverb again...the sound does not fit into the location where it takes place. So I have to remix and import the remixed file and hope that its ok now.
    Its so long-winded.
I tried DP once but I didn't like the interface and I don't have the time to switch. Is there a trick maybe, that I should know?
I should mention, many of the songs are recorded to click.
    I appreciate your feedback,
    Eddie

    Hello guys,
    thanks for your feedback.
gliderproarc: toucktracks do not work for my purposes. They do playback samples, not arrangements.
Eriksimon: the arrangements contain audio and midi, but I bounced all the midi to audio files within the arrangements.
ashermusic: Do you know more about how that feature works in DP. Especially when using a UAD or powercore, will the plug-ins used in the "master arrangement" be occupied or are the dsps free for use within the "chunk"-arrangements?
I mean, when I have twenty arrangements and each contains six Powercore ore UAD plug-ins...how does DP handle the dsp resources.
LogicMaster: Unfortunately it seems to be very complicated to work with folders, if the songs contain different tempo, tempo changes and automation. You cannot easily move these folders around in the "master arrangement".
If you have any more thoughts about that, I appreciate your feedback,
    thanks Eddie

  • Changing the linked image for the Image Matte Key doesn't work

When I change the linked image for the Image Matte Key in Photoshop, the link does not change in my Premiere Pro CS6. Sometimes it takes 2-3 times going into the Image Matte Key setting and locating the new matte in Explorer (each time having to re-locate the folder that the matte is in) to see it within the premier monitor. Any suggestions?

    Hi
The commands work correctly here on the same OS etc: Cycle Locators jump to the next/prev marker and the Playhead jumps to the Start of the Marker.
Default KC are Control Command +Arrow Left/right
Step 1: check you are using the correct key command :-)

  • Is there a "play all" feature for videos on iphone4????

Is there a "play all" feature for videos on iphone4????

    Hi Robin
Welcome to apple discussions. I use Toast (personal choice only) in this situation since it has a play all check box. But then you don't get the fancy menus.
There is no such check box within iDvd for selecting play all but you can set up iDvd's preferences to address scene selection menus when a movie/s is added. And here's how you do that:
A second option might involve adding the 8 separate movies to the slideshow feature within iDvd for continuous play. And yes you can add photos as well as movies to idvd's slideshow feature with a number of added benefits which I won't go into here. But if you want more info on this procedure just look at a few of Old Toad's prior posts / replies on this iDvd forum.
