Is this book available ..... ?

Hello,
I'm interesting in purchasing this book:

1. On the top of the page it says "This book is available for download", but on the left it says "Expected Release: Nov 13, 2012" (which is also the release date that I see in Amazon) , so I don't understand, is it or isn't it available for download ?
2. Is this book available for download in all countries ? how can I check if it's available for download in my country ? (in Amazon the eBook for this book is NOT available in my country, which is very frustrating).
3. If I can purchase this iBook, what will be the extension of the file that I will download ? is it possible to convert it to simple text file ? I need it for a high quality TTS (text-to-speech) application that I have on my PC, it needs a text file as an input.

1) The header at the top means that it can be downloaded from an iOS device, not that it's available for immediate download. It's intended as as warning that you can't read it on your computer. I can see how the phrasing would be confusing.
2) You'll have to search the iTunes Store for your country. Whether or not it will be available will be up to whoever holds the distribution rights for that title in your country.
3) The book will be a special ePUB file with copy protection. It will not be able to be converted to any other format nor used in any software other than iBooks. I very much doubt that you will find the book anywhere in an open text format. iBooks can do text-to-speech, though:

"Java and BAPI Technology for SAP" by by Ken Kroes - Is this book useful?

Howdy partners,
I've got a 'book' called "Java and BAPI Technology for SAP" by by Ken Kroes, Anil Thakur, Gareth M. deBruyn, Robert Lyfareff.
Now, does anyone know if the info in this book is still relevant to the modern SAP world? I mean its still talking about ITS and stuff like that?
Any input will be appreciated.

With the blue cover? I have one with the something similar title, but it's quite out of date. There was lot of improvement on the Java side.
So I would prefer something newer from SAP-PRESS. Check the SAP-PRESS site.
BTW I don't consider ITS as an old technology...it was just integrated recently into WAS 640 to make it more powerful. This is the only available technology, which converts classic Dynpro to Webpage dynamically.

Teaching with this book

I'd like to learn if others are out there that are teaching with this book this semester and how you plan to use it. I'd like to 'compare notes' and perhaps steal some good ideas.
I'm teaching with this book this semester. The class is mainly undergraduate students that would have gone through a class where I used the other Magal and Word book Essentials of Business Processes and Information Systems. In that class the students would have also used ERPSim. There are also a few graduate students in the class and they would have a similar background in regards to SAP ERP.
I'm not using the Global Bike exercises as, at least my thinking is, the students have seen those types of transactions already. Instead I've adapted the BPI-1 and BPI-2 materials so that the students will be doing configuration exercises. (I could see in the future having the students do Global Bike configuration in this class.)
In light of the students' background I plan to fly through chapter 1 and part of chapter 2 before we 'dig in' to the new content. Finding the right level on which to cover things is a challenge that I see. (I try to spend class time amplifying or expanding on book content and so there is no shortage of material that could go there. I hope to draw on background related to TERP-10 instruction as a guide here.)
I'd love to learn what others are doing, how you're proceeding through the material, what you're doing for labs, etc.

Most people will use some type of SAP hands-on exercises with the text. You have two options. One is the set of (very good) exercises available from the UA protal. These were developed by Stefan Weidner (and a team of people whose names I don't have). The other is the set of exercises available from Wiley that we (authors) developed. Either will work well with the text. Stefan and I (and Jeff) developed the data for the new GBI 2.0 (with lots of help from our interns), so, while two sets have a few pedagogical differences (screenshots, questions, etc.), they essentially follow the same steps. One other key difference is that once the Wiley exercises are available on WileyPlUS for the first edition (the current one is a preliminary edition), there will be mechanisms for automatic assignment submission, and, in some cases, automatic grading of student work.
Whereas most faculty will choose to use one or the other sets of exercises, a few (like Tony) will use their own due to the unique nature of their class. For example, Tony's exercises are focused on configuration. The UA and Wiley exercises are focused on process execution.
With regard to the demos. They are intended to be a substitute for demonstrating concepts and techniques with a live system. They are interactive pdfs which allow faculty to explain things without using a live system. The advantages are: you don't have to depend on a live system being available, and (2) students can replay the demo on their own - this option is not available with live demos. The disadvantage is that you cannot show something that is not in the recorded demo.
The Wiley exercises and demos are available from your Wiley rep for the preliminary version of the text. In the first edition (expected March 2011) they will be available from WileyPLUS. I have asked our editor to ensure that someone from Wiley is in touch with you to gain access to these materials.

I know it's in the UK Store, but you may be able to get hold of it anyway. It's also focused on ACTC training, but I have always found these books excellent resources for learning OS X Server.

I keep trying to load an iphoto book and it keeps getting stuck on a page during the assembly. I am using iphoto 11. What can i do to get this book assembled

I have now tried to load this book twice. The first time it got stuck during the assembly process on page 6 of 66. The second time it got stuck on page 7 of 66. I've done a preview and it assembles fine. Any ideas would be awesome

By load do you mean order? It appears that there may be a damaged image on page 6 or 7.
Export all of the photos on those two pages to the desktop as Kind = Originals. Open each with Preview and save as a new jpeg file. Import lthose new files into iPhoto, add them to the book and use them to replace the existing photos in those two pages. Now try ordering again.
HOWEWVER, you might try this first: boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and try to order from there. Keep the pdf Preview files you've created to compare with the printed copy when it arrives.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
I have seen previous versions mentioned in a pop up message before on iCloud.com, but I'm not really sure at all how it would help, as I couldn't get it to do anything.
The best advice I have at this time is to back up your work on your iOS device by regularly saving it to iTunes, if anything goes wrong you can then either load it into the numbers app again on the device or recover it via iTunes on your computer.
My syncs are immediate, I never get chance to see if it works in the background, sorry.

No such option on an iPhone. Just go to Settings>wifi, tap the name (SSID) of your your home network from the list, then when prompted, enter the password.

EReader message: This computer is not authorized to preview this book (but it is and I've bought the book)

Message on computer for eReader says "This computer is not authorized to preview this book" but it is authorized and I've bought the book. Am trying to access information that will tell me how to retrieve books that I've tried to delete from the reader (but appear to have deleted from the computer).

This is typically caused by file corruption. Delete and redownload those songs if doing so is free in your country.

There was a problem downloading this book.

I just bought a book, and 4 free classics, and none of them will download. The blue bars fill up on all of them, but then the "There was a problem downloading this book" dialog comes up, and gives me the option of retrying now or later. I tried redownloading them, but this also creates an error dialog. Is there a way to clear out the half downloaded books and try again?

There is basically only one solution- to contact iTunes via the iTunes Store and then you can tell them that there was an error downloading the books and then they can send you a different copy to your computer. Here is how you do this:
-Open iTunes
-Go into the iTunes Store
-Click on your account on the top right corner and sign in
-Click on 'Purchase History'
-Scroll to the bottom and press 'Report a Problem'
-Click on the purchase date
-Select the item(s) you were having a problem with
-Tell Apple about the problem.
Believe me, I know that it is a pain. The same thing has happened to me before, however Apple responds pretty quick and they are very good about resolving the issue.
