Is this part of product dimension
Im building a product dimension of all the dresses designers can sell. each dress can have multiple sizes and
colors a cost price and rrp price and also a size surcharge, so size 14+ could be an extra £30. these are cost designers pass on to the retailer as they dont sell direct to the public, in effect they sell to the retailer
retailers also then have the ability to apply a sale price (their mark up) to the dress and then also a size surcharge.
my question is, should these sale price and retailer set surcharges be in included in the product dimention.
if not how would i calculate the actual sale price to compare it the cost price etc.

the OP is asking about would be in a sales fact table verses in the product dimension table or maybe even split out into their own 'dimension' tables (colors, sizes, surcharges) related to the products dimension (snowflake?)?
If I'm understanding this correctly - for small operations (which I am) it seems more realistic to have these historical, slowly changing dimension (if that's what this example would be), tables be in the same database with the dimension tables also being
the tables frequented by the daily use front end users. If this is the case, then would it make more sense to keep the data the OP brought up in the products table or in related dimension tables in a snowflake design? Then maybe also include those details
in the fact table for historical analysis of time as well? Like maybe the dimension tables being used for type 1 changes and the fact table being used for type 2 changes?
I am proposing, and asking. I'm trying to take this all in and this question brought up by the OP is an issue I have been trying to think through as well.

We are in the process of implementing Procure and spend for E-Business and We have already implemented SC and OM for JDE & Universal adapters. As part of our current project, We may have to customize the Product Dimension to use/add more flex fields. We have already used several flex field attributes for the SC & OM implementation JDE . This is a common dimension used by multiple Subject Areas. Many of these product flex fields for different business units are different in context.
As we implement more and more OBIEE Modules, we see product attribute field list is going to grow more and more. I am looking for some guidance on how to customize the Common Dimensions especially the product dimension efficiently in a simplified mannter. Does oracle has any documentation on how to customize these kind of Common Dimensions? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We are in the process of customing the Standard Dimension "PRODUCT".
We want to populate the Product Category Id in the SR_ITEM_PK column while populating the fact table. The intension is to eliminate Items from the sales history and eventually from forecasting. We would like to do the forecast at the Product category as the lowest level..
After customization we would like to have the following hierarchy for the PRODUCT dimension
All Products-->Some other category as the middle level --> Product category(As the lowest level populated instead of items.
Please provide what ever information you have on this,

BPC doesn't support slowly changing dimensions.
So you have to move the products under a separate hierarchy, such that the products do not rollup under your total parent, but will not delete the old data too. So lets say you have ALL_PRODUCTS as your current hierarchy, move the products not needed to a dummy hierarchy under a dummy parent.
That way, you dont lose the previous years' data of the currently obsolete products, but still your roll-ups will be fine for current year.
And ofcourse, the rollup of the previous year will still be affected.
Using a dimension property to filter in everything might seem to work, but it will affect if you've data being imported from other systems. It will again affect the roll-ups in cubes.

1. List: Components, Layout: Standard layout set the Missing part
It shows the component requirement/withdrawn quantity for each operation of production order. It is not showing the commit quantity.

I have a live login and MS ID 4 my SkyDrive account but I only use my MS touch with 8.1, SkyDrive and office 365 for mobility.
And I still like to backup to my own server!!!
What would be good is if I can put all the software licenses and product keys of the software and keep a record of my mac addresses for hardware and even static IP's in a file or a secure location within the MS online store.
That's where MS wants me to get my computing needs from in future and I will always be able to retrieve it in future but what about the $$$$$ I have spent on software, hardware and applications prior to now???

I keep away from the non MS sites for these things and with good reason - there were heaps of similar users with the same issue or very close to it that had downloaded from a supposed MS copy from eValue or digital river etc and the next

I can't log in the App store because am from Zambia which is not listed in Apple outlets. How do i go around this as apple products are used globally and not only in the listed countries. My product is a Mac book pro. i feel this limits how i can use my product
Unfortunately you have taken an Apple product outside of the area where Apple currently does business. There isn't legally a way around this. Apple cannot license apps to you where you currently live.

I'm new to firefox, I realized one day when opening firefox from desktop on my laptop, my server automatically logged me on, and a quick popup read, "mikrotic hotspot>login". Is this part of firefox? If I type in firefox from IE I have to fill in my server user and password. As I don't like to save my password, username this is a problem.
Firefox doesn't automatically save usernames / passwords, it always asks if the user wants that information to be saved, <br />

Many parts do not have part number, because they come with other parts as a set, you have to order the whole set. If not in the book, you can't find it elsewhere.

Lightroom 4 DISASTER!!- What has Adobe done to this once great product
Lightroom 4: This is what happens when you try to produce a product that is all things to all people! Stills, Video, Book Publication etc The program is now bloated with too many modules and as a result it is far too slow for professional use (unlike Lightroom 3). Looks like an oppertunity for Aperture or Capture One.
This once great product probably wont change from the DISASTER that Adobe have made.
But they could have made iterations of LR
L4V for video guys
LER4 for beginners and amateurs
LR4B for those who want to make books
LR4W for those who make galleries
LR4P for the professionals and
LRWTF4 for those who wanted it to make the coffee and wash the dishes.
That is 6 iterations of Lightroom, each for $80. Then what happens if I want option 1 and 5... Hmmm, that is $160, Now I object as that is loads a money.
So they did not as they opted to make LR4 which is what they've offered us and we've bitched and moaned about through the testing and they've listened to us and made improvements, checked bugs and tweaked things here and there and now we have
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4
LR4 allows you / one to catalog your photos, to edit your photos to a new level that makes LR3 so last century, if you make books for clients as do many people, you can now do it through LR, you can even take images out from your videos shot with your high end VDSLR's.
It still prints for those who print and it still makes web galleries for those who do that.
You can put your photos onto a map and add that location to the images to send wherever you want online.
I'm gonna get my copy this weekend, and with great excitement. I'm going to print off a couple of prints of animals from the Kruger National Park where I've spent the last 3 days working. I'm going to tag ALL the photos with Kruger National Park, and I'm gonna make a new gallery for this shoot. As I charged a good sum for the shoot, I'm also going to make a book of the best photos and send that to the client, so they can put it in their game lodge, and my photos will be seen by all their clients from around the world. Hell, one or two may say
"Hey, there are some great photos, here's the photographers details, I'll see if he will sell me a print"

I found two mappings in SDE_ORA11510_Adaptor folder related to product dimension.
1.SDE_ORA_Product_Categories_Derive(Mapping)-->SDE_ORA_Product_Categories_Derive(Workflow/Task)
2.SDE_ORA_Product_Category_Derive(Mapping)-->SDE_ORA_Product_Category_Temporary(Workflow/Task)
If any body having idea on above mappings like when it is going to use and what is the purpose of above tasks.
currently i am running fullload i saw only SDE_ORA_Product_Categories_Derive Task available in execution plan.
any idea...why?

I cross checked my execution plan,only Task (SDE_ORA_Product_Categories_Derive) in the execution paln .
Note : I have not done any customization just added subject areas to my executon plan.
