    Thanks for your replies !!
    In any of the RPD deployments I'm getting the same error , not for some particular RPD .
    FYI , yesterday (before this issue) I had a issue with starting presentation services , so as adviced in forum I replaced the files sawguidstate and sawguidstate.atrin the location:
    <Instance_Home>\instances\<instance_name>\bifoundation\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1\catalog\<project>\root\system\mktgcache\<name>
    with the same files from a backup or from another working OBIEE 11g (11.1.5)instance.

    Hi All,
    I am trying to deploy RPD in OBIEE 11g. Everything has been working fine then I had an error on trying to restart the server. Server Log returned the below message.

    Hi,
    This kind of issues occur, when the application wsm-pm is not running. To resolve this, login to EM -> Application Deployments -> Internal Applications. The two applications wsm-pm on AdminServer and managed server should be up and running.
    Hope this helps.
    Thank you,
    Dhar

  • Error while deploying RPD in OBIEE 11g (11.1.1.3)

    Hi Friends,
    At times while deploying RPD in OBIEE 11g, I am getting an error, "_*Supplementary information regarding operation: DOMAIN, UNEXPECTED_ERROR;/tmp/zipped-directory.zip (Permission denied)*_".
    We have installed OBIEE over a LINUX machine. I tried to locate this file in the server but was not able to find any such thing. This error happens at random and I am unable to predict the occurrence of this error.
    Can someone guide me how to resolve this issue?

    You have to disable the central configuration:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/bi.1111/e10541/disable_em.htm#BEIIAEGD
    Change your repository in the file nqsconfig.ini
    and
    change the password if needed in the credential store ...
    http://gerardnico.com/wiki/_detail/dat/obiee/obiee11g_credential_store.jpg?id=dat%3Aobiee%3Acredential
    But if you can't open EM, it will be very difficult and may be you must have to add resource (memory, ...) to your server.
    Regards,
    -Amith.

  • JNDI Exception on re-deployment to a cluster

    I'm getting an error that I have not seen in the newsgroups so far. It
              happens when I deploy what I believe to be a properly configured clusterable
              application (.ear file) to my cluster.
              Here's my setup:
              WebLogic 6.0 sp1, three instances across 2 machines. The admin server (wl1)
              is running on Stimpy (win2kAS) on 10.10.10.21 (it is not part of the
              cluster). The 1st managed server (app1) is also on Stimpy bound to
              10.10.10.22 (a virtual IP). The second managed server (app3) is on Ren
              (also win2kAS) at 10.10.10.23. Auto-deploy is off. I am using the console
              to deploy the app. (I turned auto-deploy off because the app was getting
              deployed to the admin server automatically and throwing an error because of
              the clustered HTTP session state)
              Here's what happens.
              I start up all of the instances with no apps deployed. Everything appears
              to be running fine. No errors. I then use the console to deploy my
              application (sample1.0.ear). I select only the cluster as the target for
              the EJB and the webapp. If I try to access the app at this point I just get
              404's. I then restart all of the servers and the app gets deployed across
              the cluster with no errors. I can access everything JSPs, servlets, and an
              EJB without issue.
              My problem comes when I try to re-deploy the application. I have tried this
              using the console, and by copying the new .ear file to the applications
              directory on the admin server. I always get the same error, and it only
              shows up on "app1" the first managed server in the cluster. Below is the
              output form the log:

              Here's a question. Why am I seeing "weblogic.ejb20.EJBDeploymentException"?
              As far as I know, I have not installed the EJB2.0 container. Does this get
              installed by default with sp1? Also, I quite sure that my deployment
              descriptors are correct. Here's my weblogic-ejb-jar.xml for the HelloWorld

              Who needs clustering anyway, damn it?! (Well...I do) Any one know what's
              going on here?

    This seems like potential redeploy/undeploy bugs. COuld you follow up with

  • Deploying RPD in OBIEE 11g

    Hi ,
    Is there a way to deploy RPD in OBIEE11g with out using Enterprise Manager because i have logged on to Enterprise manager and when i click on Business Intelligence/Coreapplication
    Its take lots of time and still not going to next step.
    can any one suggest me if there is way to increase the Enterprise manager access speed.
    what is the reason its take such a long time?
    Thanks

    I think FMW Control EM is the only way to deploy RPD in 11g as it controls the RPD versions. About the slowness of EM, not sure. You can try cleaning cache of the browser.

  • JMS sub-deployment targeted to cluster

    Hello,
    I have read at the Oracle documentation that we can use a sub-deployment within a JMS module targeted only to a single JMS Server. But I have an application that create JMS resources with deploy descriptors (Application modules) and target the sub-deployment to a cluster with two machines, each machine has a JMSServer. It seems to work (I see them on the JNDI tree on both machines). This is the jms.xml:
    Do you also use sub-deployment targeted to a cluster or I shouldn't? Thank you in advance ;)
    I am using webLogic version 10.3.4.0
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <wls:weblogic-jms xmlns:wls="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-jms"
         xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
         xsi:schemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-jms http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-jms/1.1/weblogic-jms.xsd">
         <wls:quota name="InboundMessageQuota">
              <wls:bytes-maximum>1000000</wls:bytes-maximum>
              <wls:messages-maximum>10000</wls:messages-maximum>
         </wls:quota>
         <!-- Factories -->
         <wls:connection-factory name="InboundMessageConnectionFactory">
              <wls:sub-deployment-name>InboundMessage</wls:sub-deployment-name>
              <wls:jndi-name>jms.InboundMessageConnectionFactory</wls:jndi-name>
              <wls:security-params>
                   <wls:attach-jmsx-user-id>false</wls:attach-jmsx-user-id>
              </wls:security-params>
         </wls:connection-factory>
         <!-- Queue's -->
         <wls:uniform-distributed-queue name="InboundMessageQueue">
              <wls:sub-deployment-name>InboundMessage</wls:sub-deployment-name>
    <wls:delivery-params-overrides>
    <wls:delivery-mode>Non-Persistent</wls:delivery-mode>
    </wls:delivery-params-overrides>

              <wls:jndi-name>jms.InboundMessageQueue</wls:jndi-name>
         </wls:uniform-distributed-queue>
    </wls:weblogic-jms>

    Technically, cluster targeting a distributed destination is supported, and it'll work as long as your can be absolutely assured that the cluster will never host additional JMS servers - perhaps from future projects, or due to integrating third party products. Otherwise, your distributed destinations will end up creating instances on JMS servers where they don't belong - a common mistake that can be tough to diagnose and untangle. I highly recommend staying with the best practice of using a subdeployment that references exactly the intended JMS servers. Note that a subdeployment can reference more than one JMS server.

  • Deployment problem in cluster

    Hi,
    I have a bea cluster configured among two physical servers
    First machine has the admin server configured. It also has a managed server configured in the cluster named "cluster" . The application ear file is copied on to this server only (No shared storage is available)
    second machine has one managed server configured in the same cluster "cluster"
    When I have done the deployment onto the "cluster" everything worked fine. I am able to access the applicatio through both the managed server's urls.
    Then for testing purpose, I shutdown the first server which has the admin server. Still the application continued to work on the second server
    Then I have restarted the managed server on the second machine by keeping the first machine shutdown, the managed server started in ADMIN mode, and is refusing the application requests.
    can anyone suggest any workaround ??
    Thanks
    Ushas Symon

    Hi,
    1)start the adminserver
    2)restart the secondary server

  • Issues with RPD Version Number - Uploading OLD RPD

    Hi Gurus,
    I am facing a issue in OBIEE 11G from last few days.
    Whenever I upload a RPD,the EM shows that it has incremented the veersion number of my RPD and it has been deployed. But after checking the asnwers we and opening the RPD in online mode we still find that a back dated(old) RPD has been uploaded.
    Unless and untill we rename the RPD and upload it the changes are not reflected. Can you please help resolve this issue?
    Thanks

    Hi, I had this issue and was not able to resolve it. I had to do a re-install of OBIEE 1.1.1.7 . I'm curious to know if anyone has the same problem and was able to fix it another way, so I'm going to list my observations below:
    EM did increment my repository.RPD to repository_002.rpd but repository_001.rpd was still active.
    Mbeans showed that the "current" RPD was 002, but NQSConfig.ini showed that "Star = repository_001"
    When clicking "Apply" under EM Deployment screen and restarting, the version number incremented, but NQSConfig.ini did not update
    "Restart All" in EM appeared to be unusually fast.
    When restarting OBIEE OMPN components in EM, the components always show ALIVE under opmnctl in the console window
    oracle.as.managment.mbeans.opmn mbean was not available in the system mbean browser, which I believe means that the OPMN instance was some how unregistered
    I re-registered the instance, which completely wiped the entire instance1 directory clean (I do not recommend doing this unless you back everything up outside the instance)
    Re-registering the instance worked temporarily, but then broke again later that week

  • Urgent JMS issue with SSL-enabled cluster

    Hello, dear All!
    We have deployed a SAP WebAS SP13 SSL-enabled cluster (2 servers) and face the following strange behaviour:
    When both servers are running our queue-based message driven beans (MDB EJBs) never get any messages.
    However, JMS topic subscriber threads (not implemented as MDBs) work fine on both servers and receive JMS broadcasts. As well web-initiated JMS queue browsing works fine.
    Then if only one (central) server is up, queue-based MDBs work fine and start receiving messages...
    If you know or guess what might be an issue it would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you and best regards,
    -Yuri

    Hi!
    Yes, I solved this problem. You have to set your certificate to the LDAP server and get SSL enabled. You should also add same certificate to your jdk's cacerts file. That should help. :)
