Issue pairing Bluetooth mouse to Latitude E7240

Hi all,
I am trying without success to connect a Microsoft Wedge Touch Mouse to my new Dell Latitude E7240.
I am able to add the device and have its icon shown in the list of devices but the pairing seems not to complete on the mouse's side as it doesn't leave the discovery mode.
The driver of the mouse doesn't install either.
I updated the driver of the Bluetooth adaptor with several different recent versions without success.
Other Bluetooth devices such as smartphones function correctly with this E7240.
The mouse works perfectly on an older laptop.
Any idea? Thx.

I also had a problem with pairing. I was trying to connect to a Oontz Curve bluetooth speaker. It would connect but no sound. I installed the latest bluetooth update from the downloads page (listed as Intel 7260/3160 Bluetooth Application) and tried again, no luck still not connecting. I rebooted and it finally worked. For some reason device changes need a reboot sometimes.... perhaps you can follow a similar process to pair to a stubborn device

My Bluetooth Mouse just this second stop working.
And? Are you expecting someone to be able to diagnose and solve the problem for you based on that statement?
Why are you so certain it "has to be a Mac OS X driver issue"? Have you done something to the Bluetooth system software +"just this second"+ which has caused it stop working?
    Some other possibilities are:
    • Batteries could've run out.
    • Bluetooth hardware in the mouse could've failed
    • Bluetooth hardware in the Mac could've failed
    • Bluetooth preferences could be corrupted
    • Mac and Mouse may have lost their "pairing" info
Unfortunately as you've not provided any information about the problem whatsoever, not even told us what brand or model of Bluetooth mouse you're referring to, or mentioned *a single thing* you've tried already to resolve this, its impossible to help any further.

  • Starting IMac for first time without the paired bluetooth mouse

I bought an iMac at the Apple Store today. I wanted a trackpad rather than a mouse. He pulled the mouse from the box and inserted the trackpad. I got home, booted up for the first time, and it wants me to turn on the factory-paired mouse that I don't have. I can't get past this screen to pair the bluetooth trackpad instead.
The keyboard is paired and functional, but I can't find anything that bypasses the screen telling me graphically that I need to turn on the mouse. I do not have a wired mouse to plug in, even if that would work.
    Thoughts?

No, it insisted on a mouse. I did, however, find an old wired mouse (didn't think I had any left), and once I plugged that in, it bypassed the screen telling me to turn on the wireless mouse. Then I set up the trackpad using the setttings.

  • TS3048 Very Frequent "Connection Lost" issues on Bluetooth Mouse

I can not get any work done with so many interruptions after the mouse stops working.
I know it is not a battery problem because I just changed the old ones thinking they were the problem source, but definetly they are not.
I am starting to think that is something wrong with the device.
Does anyone has any tips or suggestions on how to make it perform the way it should?
    Thanks

    Hello Tony,
Despite your insistance otherwise, what you report are symptoms of  battery failure or faulty connections.   If you have no sign of a green  light or if it flickers  ...
    Turn off the mouse.
Remove the batteries from the battery compartment.
Examine  and clean if necessary the connection points in the compartment, look  specifically for signs of white powder or corrosion.
Insert two new quality batteries in the compartment and close the cover.
    Turn on the mouse.
If you have a steady green light you are ready to GO.
Rechargeable battery strength level reports are often inaccurate and the regular batteries, if bought in a promotion or discount store, are often below standard and carry a depleted charge.
If you can follow my suggestions as written, please let us know the outcome.

  • Apple bluetooth mouse slow, possibly even sluggish?

Ok, my bluetooth apple mouse has started to annoy me, it seems to be quite slow (i usually use a MS wirless mouse, but decided to try out the apple one again) basically its just quite slow and very hard to move it just a small distance.
    To fix it I have:
    cleaned the optical sensor
    changed batteries
moved it to fastest tracking speed
    re-set it
    used it on different surfaces
    updated bluetooth firmware
basically everything I can think of but no joy, it still seems slow, is there anything I can do or is it likely to need to be replaced?
Also my microsoft one is on full speed, and its just about right although i would like it a bit faster, is there anything I can do?
also what does the small + and - switch do its the one under the battery cover
    Cheers for the help guys

I am experiencing the same issue. I have done a good bit of troubleshooting to narrow down the problem, and i wanted to share those results with this thread in hopes that we can come to a conclusion and hopefully fix it.
First off, this issue seems to be isolated to bluetooth wireless devices and wireless network traffic. I have a Logitech G7 bluetooth wireless mouse, and my Macbook is the 5.1 version
I have seen other threads that are trying to blame their mouse lag on their monitor, and have said that plugging the monitor's power to a different wall jack fixed their problem. This made no difference in my situation. Even having my External monitor completely out of the loop, i still experienced issues with bluetooth mouse + traffic over the wireless causing significant hitching and lagging of the mouse during the period of the traffic (i.e. copying 500mb file over network).
When i have my bluetooth mouse hooked up and i am copying a large file over the wireless, it lags horribly. If i take my hand and use the trackpad on the laptop itself *during the same copy*, it works fine... it is ONLY the bluetooth mouse.
If i hook an ethernet cable directly to the laptop, all issues with lag are gone when i use the network.
    So to recap:
ethernet cable + bluetooth mouse + network traffic = no mouse lag
wireless ethernet + trackpad + network traffic = no mouse lag
wireless ethernet + bluetooth mouse + network traffic = HORRIBLE MOUSE LAG
ON TOP OF THAT.... the issue is EXACTLY the same in Vista as it is in OSX

  • Optical Bluetooth Mouse will not Pair in Snow Leopard 10.6.1 on MBP5,5

I have this mouse, with full batteries, just now tested and working on Windows XP with another laptop, and with an older MacBook Pro running 10.5. I can see this device in the Bluetooth set-up, and when I click Continue, the window shows a connection established, then another connection, and then an error that the device could not be paired. I tried every type of Password Options, including setting as 0000 and 1234. I have no other Bluetooth devices to test with either.
IOGEAR - GME225B - Bluetooth Optical Mini Mouse
I followed the instructions from other posts, but still cannot pair the mouse.
    -Deleted Macintosh HD>library>preferences>com.apple.bluetooth.plist
-Reset PRAM with Command-Option-P-R keys at boot
-Installed Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0 for Snow Leopard
Nothing works, but I know for sure that this mouse does work, and that it has worked on previous versions of OSX and other MacBooks.

I have the same issue. Same mouse. Its definitely snow leopard. I have 2 macbooks that use that mouse that were upgraded to snow leopard from leopard. On one of them I had deleted the mouse and encoutered the same errors trying to add it - it worked on my other machine. But then as a test (bad idea) I deleted it off the other machine and was also unable to recreate the connection thereby narrowing the issue to snow leopard. I have tried pretty much everything for hours. Deleting pllist file, smc reset, nvram etc... I think I have to wipe off the machine and install leopard again and start from there

  • MacBook Pro Bluetooth Mouse Issue - Possible Bug??

I recently purchased the new MacBook Pro and I have a weird issue with both the bluetooth Mighty Mouse and another Microsoft bluetooth mouse.
So first, I purchased the mighty mouse thinking it would work great with my new MacBook, however, after pairing it and turning up the scrolling to the highest setting it was still way to slow for movement across the screen requiring me to pick up the mouse and move it to get all the way across.
I had also installed Windows 7 on Parallels and was able to install my Microsoft Presenter Mouse 8000 on that with a dongle and it moved super fast just like I liked it. I had to use the dongle because for some reason Parallels didn't show the internal bluetooth. So I thought I would try using my Microsoft Presenter Mouse 8000 on the Mac side so I downloaded the Intellipoint 6.3 software that is made for mac and installed it on the machine then paired up my MS mouse. I then went in and set the settings to their highest settings for scrolling and once again I had the same issue as with the Mighty Mouse. Way too slow.
So then I took it to one of the Geek Squad guys at Best Buy in my area to see if he could figure it out and he was stumped as well. However, after playing with it a bit we discovered that if you went into the native keyboard/mouse settings in the system preferences folder and dragged the scrolling setting to it's lowest setting and then back to the highest setting the Microsoft Mouse would move super fast like it is supposed to. I got all excited, however, the problem is that as soon as you closed that dialog box it goes back to slow again. Weirdest thing ever.
So I have no idea what would cause that and would love some feedback from you all. I think it is a bug because in my opinion the Might Mouse should work better than anything else. Any thoughts anyone?

This problem can be caused because of the mouse pad. Try using a dark color one with no reflective glare. Sometimes the light bounces.

  • HP Bluetooth Mouse Z8000 Will Not Pair with HP EliteBook 840 G1

I have an HP EliteBook 840 G1 running Windows 7 64-bit.  I recently purchased the HP Bluetooth Mouse Z8000.  I cannot pair the mouse with my PC.  The mouse is working properly, I can pair it with my iMac with no issues.   The HP EliteBook's Bluetooth radio is working properly, I am amble to pair my Apple Magic Mouse, Bose Speaker, iPhone, printer, etc. with no issues. The HP EliteBook does not even detect the Z8000 mouse.  The iMac detects it immediately.  What am I doing wrong?  Is there a driver to download?  The mouse says Bluetooth Smart on the box, which I understand in Bluetooth 4.0.  According the HP's documentation, my EliteBook has Bluetooth 4.0?  How can I confirm this?

  • Brand new iMac cannot pair bluetooth keyboard and magic mouse

    Hi there!
Just received brand new iMac 21" yesterday. Unboxed it, turned it on and none of both bluetooth devices (keyboard and magic mouse) managed to get paired.
I was able to connect a USB mouse to log into the Mac. Did all turn off/on Bluetooth, turn off/on iMac several times with no luck. Weird thing is that when I lift keyboard on a 30 degree angle above my desk it seems to actually pair with the iMac but then when back to original position it disconnects.
I've tried the magic mouse with my 2008 Macbook and works flawlessly. After several attempts never managed to pair magic mouse with iMac and as said earlier keyboard is not working on a standard position on my desk. It is frustrating to have paid close to 2,000$ for something that does not even work out of the box... Any ideas or suggestions?
I'm planning to take it today to nearest Apple Stores but have a bad feeling about "genius" folks being able to help me out. Would be worth changing iMac for new one?
    Thanks a lot in advanced!

Thanks Barry! If SCM reset means the following:
    SMC RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
    Wait 15 seconds.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
I've done that several times yesterday with no success. "SMC Reset" sounds quite fancy but then you google it and find that is a "simple" shut down and restart protocol... I tried "shutting down" by both selecting option via OS and also physically on the button behind screen.
I appreciate the help but unless I've done that "simple" protocol wrong it is not working.
Sorry for the frustration from my side. It just seems too much of a vague story when you hear Apple friends talking things about "the best OS", "best desktop",...and then you pay about $2,000 and find this yourself.
If anyone else interested I commit to keep this up to date with the feedback I'll get from "genius" folks today. Hopefully they'll prove themselves to live up to their position naming.

  • Bluetooth Mouse Driver Issues after updating to SP1

    Greetings!
After upgrading to SP1 my bluetooth mouse stopped working.  The dongle I'm using is being detected fine, and when I scan for the mouse I can find it, but when I try to connect to it I get a "Locate driver" message from Vista.  When I let it scan for the driver it is unable to find anything compatible, so when I tell it to scan the CD that came with it again it finds nothing.  It's like the Bluetooth HID Device driver is no longer working.
    This is the dongle:
    http://us.kensington.com/html/9403.html
    This is the mouse:
    http://us.kensington.com/html/12635.html
Some of the things I've tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the WIDCOMM Bluetooth stack.  I've tried using Vista's Bluetooth stack instead of the WIDCOMM stack, with no luck.
I've also tried the Bluesoleil drivers with no luck there either, in fact those seem to break the dongle and Vista is no longer able to detect it.
I've tried the install CD that came with the mouse, but it seems that is for Windows XP only.
I've tried another Bluetooth mouse that produces the exact same results, with a CD that is for Vista.
    Anyone else having this issue?

Just wanted to update this with an answer.
I'm pretty sure that running vsp1cln.exe was the reason why my Bluetooth and iPod stopped working.  I reinstalled Vista and upgraded to SP1 without running that tool to clean up the install files and both bluetooth and my iPod are working again.  It must clean up the driver files that they were using and the new files are not compatible or something.  Not sure really.

  • Macbook Pro won't pair with my existing Bluetooth Mouse.

I used a bluetooth mouse with my macbook pro and had no problems. Since the lastest Mountain Lion Updapte (10.8.2), the laptop finds the mouse but the pairing with the device doesn't work. I've changed the batteries and restarted the laptop several times. Any suggestions other than buying a new bluetooth mouse?

  • Issue with Logitech Bluetooth mouse

    Hi everyone!
I have some problems in correctly configuring my Logitech v270 bluetooth mouse. I followed all the steps in http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bluetooth_Mouse, but I still can't connect automatically at startup. Each time I boot my laptop, I must type
    /etc/rc.d/bluetooth stop
    /etc/rc.d/bluetooth start
at the root prompt to get it work.
Please note that I also completed this step: I added to my /etc/rc.local this line:
hidd --connect <enter here your bluetooth mouse address (No capitals!!!)>
    Some ideas?
    Thank you!

Same issue,  been a problem since I purchased last Christmas.  Sometimes I want to throw this piece of crap out and buy a mac.  Lenovo, get your head out of your ass.

  • AT200 pairing with Bluetooth Mouse

I've just bought an AT200 tablet, my first Android device which i've upgraded to ICS (Android v4.02)
I'm trying to pair a bluetooth mouse with the tablet. Like many bluetooth devices, the mouse requires no passcode, but when I try to pair with it Android insists that I enter a passcode, until i do the "OK" is greyed out.
Ive tried 0000 , 1234, and lots of others but nothing works, since the mouse insists on No Passcode.
In Windows its easy because the windows bluetooth interface has a "No Passcode" option, but this isn't present in Android
Anyone have any ideas of a work round?

    Hello AT200owner
sorry I can't help you with your BT mouse but what I find most interesting about your post is that you have been lucky to upgrade to Android 4.02.
It would be very kind of you if you could shortly answer my questions which I guess are very important for European owners of the AT200, too
Am I right in assuming that you have simply upgraded through Toshiba's Service Station app?
Does your AT200 support any other languages (e.g. German ,French, Spanish) besides English?
Do you think everything is running smooth with Android 4?
Thank you very much in advance!

Hello everyone, i bouth a z8000 bluetooth mouse yesterday for my Envy dv7-7270ca, but the mouse will not show up anywhere when i have the computer looking for it. i need help or advice. windows 8.1 64bit

Hello, and Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Check your batteries, make sure they are charged and that you have removed the piece of plastic that was included that blocks their connection inside.
Insert the receiver into a USB port on the computer (not a hub), turn mouse on, then press the "Connect" button while the mouse is sitting right next to the receiver.
The lights on the mouse should change when the connection is made.
