Issue searching using createtimestamp filter

I was trying to set up a search filter where I wanted to find all records with a createtimestamp of 2007 or earlier. I am finding that ldapsearch treats = differently than <= and was wondering if anyone has more info on this behavior. So for example, if I search for "(createtimestamp=2007*)", I see the following in the access log:
[28/Nov/2008:07:58:38 -0500] conn=3908445 op=56 msgId=145 - SRCH base="ou=archive,ou=personal,o=ny,c=us" scope=2 filter="(createTimestamp=2007*)" attrs=ALL
and I get an appropriate number of results back.
Now if I change my filter to "(createtimestamp<=2007*)", I see a different result in the access log:
[28/Nov/2008:07:57:05 -0500] conn=3908445 op=53 msgId=142 - SRCH base="ou=archive,ou=personal,o=ny,c=us" scope=2 filter="(createTimestamp<=2007\2a)" attrs=ALL
and I get only a couple of entries returned. Anyone seen this before and does this mean that if I want to do a <= of a date, I need a complete date? (Such as createtimestamp<=20071231235900z)

Well, I ain't sure you're allowed to use 2 operators (<= and *) at the same time, or at least, the result may me unpredictable since I believe
there's no specification for such requests. "*" means substring search while there may not be any matching rule for this attributetype, unless you create it.
I would rather suggest to use a fully specified date as you mention and also maybe do a test with the < operator (< 2008xxxxxxxx) .

when we use the single filter pane, filter conditions are working for only first dataprovider (since data binding is to dataprovider 1. in affterted dataproviders i selected dataprovider 2 and 3, but filter pane is not active for other two dataproviders in tabs.

Issue in using presentation variable as filter condition in the reports

I have an issue in using presentation variable as filter condition in my reports the details are as follows:
Details :
We want to implement the Max and Min variables through Presentation variables only.we do not want to implement it through session variables in this case.
We have two variables MIN and MAX to be used as Presentation Variables,for a column of the report (which is a quantity),so that the user wants to see the data for this column within a particular range.i.e the Min and the Max.This part has been implemented well . The issue is when the user wants to see the full data.In that case we will not pass any values to these two Presentation Variable or in other words we are not restricting the report data so we are not passing any value to the variables,this is when the report is throwing the error. we want to leave this variables blank in that case.but this is giving error.
Please suggest how can I overcome this issue.

i think you have to use guided navigation for this. create two reports first is the one you are having currently and second is the one in which remove the presentation variable from the column formula. i.e. the same report with no aggregation applied.
Now create a dummy report and make it return value only when the presentation variable value is not equal to max or min. guide the report to navigate between the first and second report based on the result of the dummy report.

"Using the Filter HUD to Search for Referenced Files" (and "Locate Referenced Files")

I am trying to follow the Help Documentation item "Using the Filter HUD to Search for Referenced Master" (not sure if there is a way to post a URL to this) and I am not seeing what it is telling me to do.
I am going to Edit > Find and it is telling me to "Click the Filter HUD button beside the search field in the Browser". Is this referring to a browser in the Aperture UI or is this in the Filter HUD display? I am not finding this.
Also, it saying that in the Filter HUD I should "choose File Status from the Add Filter pop-up menu, and select the 'File Status' checkbox." and I am not seeing this either. Does anyone know where this is at?
Lastly, I see that there is a command called File > Locate Referenced Files and when I run this I get a "No Referenced Files in the /current/ selection. I have realized that I don't quite understand whether I am running this search for a specific Project and/or whether I have to make a specific selection in the left hand pane when I run a FILTER HUD or whether this automatically defaults to search the whole database. Does it matter what I have selected in the current Browser View when I run either of these commands?

1. Just copy and paste the URL from the on-line User Manual. Very helpful. Are you on this page?

4. The command -- like all commands? -- works on the currently selected Images. On the same page in the User Manual it says:

Searching using the Library Filter

I have two questions:
1: When I did a search for "lark", I found meadow lark, horned lark, and lark sparrow images. But, it also brought up a thousand "Clarks" nutcrackers. What is the command to bring up only images that exactly match the keyword (lark)?
2: It is very apparent that LR is capable of doing some very sophisitcated searchs using the Library Filters, but where do you find detailed descriptions of this information? (lacking a manual or any sort of context sensitive help menu)

For troubleshooting your issue butter, let's verify the followings:
Where does this issue happened? In the opening, you said "I seem to be having issue with the search box in a document library web part". However, you also said " If I go directly to the document library, the same search box works
without issue".
Whether your issue is that the search could work well using the Seach Box from the search result page, and could not work using the Search Box within document library.
What did you mean that search didn't filter properly? Whether there is no results returning.
Maybe you can provide some screenshots about your issue.
If you provide more information about this issue, it will mark others in the forum easy to find a solution for you.

IP Characteristic Relationship used via Filter for derivation in Query

Hello Experts,
hopefully you can help me with following issue:
Currency is an Attribute from Company. I created a Characteristic Relationsship to derive Currency from Company
Afterwards I created an Aggregation Level with fields
Currency, Company, Material, Amount, Quantity, Unit.
On this Aggregation Level I defined a Filter with Company which will be filled from a Variable (Replacement Path, Query, single value).
I use this Filter in a Ready-Input Query and defined it like follows:
Rows: Amount and Quantity (restricted to TO)
Column: Material and Currency
The field currency should be filled automatically with Currency from Company but it did't. Due to this the Query is not ready input.
I know that it can be filled via User Exit but this is my last solution if nothing else is working. A Variable with Replacementh path and filled by Attribute of Company does not solve my issue.

thank you all for your answers. I used Workpackages for my issue. I picked it upfrom the "How to Use workpackages to control Locking in BI Integrated Planning".
With this solution I can fill the currency with Replacmenth Path from Attribute Company.
This is the first time that I worked with Workpackages for Authorization and I can recomend it because you don't need an User Exit.

Enterprise Search using Sharepoint Server 2007 + SAP R/3

Hi experts,
I want to achieve an enterprise search using SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS).
SharePoint includes the BDC (business data catalog) which allows you to communicate with the SAP System.
I read in the Microsoft whitepapers that thereu2019s a need for a web application server 6.40.
So here is the problem:
We have SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.7 with WAS 6.20. We donu2019t want to change or upgrade the SAP system.
There are ways to connect the WAS to the R/3 system e.g. RFC.
But does this still work for search in SharePoint?
Did anybody already deal with this problem?
Any other ideas connecting SharePoint to SAP in this scenario?

Issue with using nocommit parameter on FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION:
My client has a requirement to create the following 4 infotypes in sequence in a LUW, i.e either all are created or none is created.
9045 (custom infotype)
0045
0078
0015
I tried to use the nocommit parameter on FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION to insert the 4 infotypes
in a nocoomit mode and then at the end I have issued
'Commit Work', but to my surprise only I/T 0015 is created in the database and the first three (9045, 0045 and 0078) did not make it to database.
I searched many threads on SDN but could not find a solution.
Please let me know if there could be any solution to implement the LUW.
YOur inputs will be appreciated.

i think u can also try with this FM HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA , see its documentations.
no commit works like a simulation mode , what u can do is ,
call FM for all Infotypes and collect all error msgs if any , then finally call FM for all infotypes again without passing nocommit work ( i.e space).

Unable to create content properly in UCM 11G using validateStandard filter

    We have used validateStandard filter to assign content id with 16 digits in UCM 10G and it worked well, we deployed this component in UCM 11G but it is not working properly. When we click on Check In button content is getting created and displaying Check_In Confirmation with 16 digit Content ID, upon clicking on Content Info it is displaying the complete info page. When we try to search the content it is not displaying in search results, also when tried to export it using Archiver it is not creating batch file. When we see logs in View Server out put it is displaying

I have the Filter and Drill Down by option checked in the context menu Web item in WAD . However when I preview on the Web what happens is that the characteristic that I am using the filter and drill down on shows up horizontally as opposed to in a column.
For eg: If I have the following data initially
01/01/2007     250
02/01/2007    500.
I keep my cursor on 01/01/2007 and do a filter and drill down by 0calqtr then what I see now is
01/2007    02/2007 03/2007 04/2007
instead of
01/2007
02/2007
03/2007
04/2007.
Each CalQtr will have a key figure Value beside it in the horizontal mode.
This happens only when I pick the characteristic on the Graph. On the Web Item Analysis it works fine. Has anyone faced this issue before. This worked fine when it was WAD 3.5. This affects the presentation of the graph. For Objects that have not been migrated the result still shows fine.

Product Search Using Oracle Text or By Any Other Methods using PL/SQL

I have requirement for product search using the product table which has around 5 million products. I Need to show top 100 disitnct products searched in the following order
1. = ProductDescription
2. ProductDescription_%
3. %_ProductDescription_%
4. %_ProductDescription
5. ProductDescription%
6. %ProductDescription
Where '_' is space. If first two/three/or any criteria itslef gives me 100 records then i need not search for another patterns
Table Structure Is as follows

You could use an Oracle Text context index with a wordlist to speed up substring searches and return all rows that match any of your criteria, combined with a case statement to provide a ranking that can be ordered by within an inner query, then use rownum to limit the rows in an outer query. You could also use the first_rows(n) hint to speed up the return of limited rows. Please see the demonstration below. If you decide to use Oracle Text, you may want to ask further questions in the Oracle Text sub-forum on this forum or space or whatever they call it now.

1) you can use the function module 'BAPI_BUPA_SEARCH' to filter BP by country. In the address data field, you can enter country code (say IN for India) and this will return you the list of BP's belonging to the country.
2) You can use view BBPV_BUPA_ADDR to see the BP's for a particular country.
for this view, if you look at the "Table/Join Conditions" tab, you can see the underlying tables used for join ->
BUT000 ->BuPA Master
BUT020 ->BP Address table
ADRC ->Address services.
