Issue using microsoft tfs as version control system with jdeveloper 11g

Hi ,
I am using TeamFoundationServer as source control system and trying to use Jdeveloper with TeamVCS Extension.
Software Details :
Jdeveloper Version : Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.6.0 Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.6.0CLOUD_GENERIC_121118.1600.6229
Versioning Support for Team System - oracle.jdeveloper.vsts     11.1.1.6.38.62.29
Steps followed :
1. Install the Microsoft Visual Studio Team Explorer 2010 ( http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=329 ).
2. Install upgrade for Version Support for Team System using CheckForUpdates in Jdeveloper Help Menu.
3. Now create a workspace in TeamExplorer and get the latest version of code.
4. Click connectToTeamSystem in Versioning->Team System.
5. Click Set workspace .
6. Now open the Application .
Issue : Checkin Checkout and other options are still grey out.
Error : No error message in log.
Additional Note : I tried doing the same steps on 11.1.1.7.0, and even there it doesn't work.
Please help !!!!
Thanks,
Rajdeep

  • What version control system you use?

    We are 20 developer and we use bitkeeper as a version control system.
    But we have 4 envirronnement.
    dev/test/pre-prod/prod.
    Sometimes, 2-3 projects are affecting the same packages.
    And different packages version is all over the place since we have 4 envirronnements.
    What version control system you use for packages?
    Would be cool to have a version control system intergrated to our tools, like toad, pl/sql dev or sql developer, is there one for those tools?
    Is the tool you using it doing all you want it to do?
    Have any link for me to check out?

    Hi,
    I recommend SourceAnywhere Standalone to you. It is an SQL-based source control application that provides all of the key features of VSS, plus much more. It is well integrated with Microsoft Visual Studio 6/2003/2005/2008, Dreamweaver and Eclipse. Here is the home page of SourceAnywhere Standalone:
    http://www.dynamsoft.com/Products/SAWstandalone_Overview.aspx
    The Hosted edition, SourceAnywhere Hosted that is delivered as a SaaS application is also available.
    http://www.dynamsoft.com/Products/SAWhosted_Overview.aspx
    You can take a look.

  • Hello, I want to use version controlling software with Labwindows.

    Hello All.
    I want to use version controlling tool with Labwindows/CVI. Actually version controlling tools work for text files and by using the tool i can do version controlling of my .c and .h files in Labwindows/CVI project. But is there a way to do version controlling of .uir files also. Version control tool can detect the changes made in .uir file but is there any tool that can be used to compare and merge .uir files too just like text files operation for version controlling.
    Regards

    Hello Moshi,
    Personally I never understood how the integrated version control system of
    CVI works, but SVN (and TortoiseSVN) works fine with CVI projects.
    UIR files are treated as binary, as they should be, and that's about all.
    You could put the .tui file under version control instead, but I don't think
    it's worth the bother.

  • Putting ~ into a version control system

    Hey folks!
    I'm curious as to how one could put ones home directory into version control, to quote Codemac;
    codemac wrote:I keep my ~ in mercurial, so all files are checked in and versioned. [...] I highly suggest you put your $HOME into version control.  It's real fun to see what your home directory looked like 3 years ago
    I once used Subversion under Mac OS X to download a random project just for kicks, but had no idea what it was all about really. I understand that a version control system assists (manually or automatically?) in labeling files/data/"units" with version numbers, and storing the data as well? I've also seen that a number of users here use Git, another version control system, to label and share their various configuration files. Where is the data stored? On a server belonging to someone else or on ones own computer?
    I found a Wikipedia article on the topic, although Subversion isn't named there, so I may be wrong on that one.
    Is there a CVS that is small in size and amount of features and easy to get the grasp of?
    Thanks in advance.

    I'm having my ~ under version control now for a while (I am using git - the decision to do so was mainly motivated by my desire to learn git). However, I don't track every file in my ~. Just the configuration files (.bashrc, .bash_logout, .zshrc, .awesomerc, vim ... etc. etc.) and some docs (though I keep them in a different private repository). I'd recommend that if you plan to put your ~ under a VCS that you should think about what you plan to track and what not first. It certainly means some additional work, because you have to remember to commit changes back into your repository every time you change a tracked file. Of course you can perform a commit on every logout, but if you want to revert/restore a single file, it's better to track changes in files individually. As I see it, the main idea of keeping your ~ in a VCS system is to have a backup from where you can restore a single file to every point in time you want, or to revert uncommited changes which broke sth. in an instant. So, IMHO it doesn't make that much sense to have the repository on your laptop only, but also to have a remote repository (in case your HD dies). For me, it's also a nice way to keep my home directory in sync over multiple machines.
    As for the decision on which particular VCS to use. I first tried to do that a year ago using svn, and it didn't work out that well - for some reason I don't like svn - but that doesn't mean that svn is bad - it could be right for you . Darcs is an easy to learn VCS but it lacks some features like branches and the like (which you may not need in this szenario anyway). I don't know much about Bazaar or Mercurial, because I've never used them, however from what I've read, these two are very popular choices nowadays (maybe someone with some experience with those can shed some more light ). Also, you have to chose the VCS according to what you like to track, because they differ in performance and the extra storage they need to keep track of the changes (I read a good article which compared all named VCSs regarding repository/metadata size in differrent szenarios, small files only, big files only etc. etc. - but unfortunately I can't find it atm).

  • Jdev support with PVCS Version control system

    Hi,
    Is there any JDev plugin available for PVCS source control system.
    We have to use PVCS version control system for our SOA composites. If there is no plugin available, what is the approach commonly used for these scenarios.
    Thanks for your response.

    Which JDev version do you use?
    AFAIK there is no extension for PVCS available for 11g (check http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@otn/documents/webcontent/131167.xml).
    Anyway if you have an external tool which lets you work with PVCS you can use it outside of jdev without a problem. Depending on the interface you might be able to do some kind of integration into jdev using the 'External Tools...' interface.

  • Version Control System to Storage BIG Design Files

    I am designing the architect of a version control system to store big design files across an enterprise. Most of files are ~10MB. But some files (Multi-media) are as big as ~500MB. The employee number is around 3000. The service will be used quite often during the day time. I am wondering that Web Service is a capable technique to handle such problem.

    Hi
    Is that anybody would like to post his opinion? Or web service is not mature enough for such kind of service.

  • Reg: Openscript files should store  version control system (CVS)

    Dear's.
    I dont see any option in Openscript to directly send files to repository like Eclipse. Eclipse has an option to team sync with repository .Is their a way to store openscript files in to any kind of version control system .

  • Lot of addons are not working even after uninstalling and reinstalling them. Using 3.6.12 version of firefox with windows

    I am using 3.6.12 version of firefox with windows OS. Recently, lot of addons not working and not showing in task bar like IE tab, RC Search, Answers, Better Privacy, AdBlock plus, etc. I have some 15-20 addons installed of which only 5-6 addons are working .Please help

    Update to 3.6.17 in the first instance by clicking '''Help '''| '''Check For Updates'''.
    The main reason for this is because there was a security breach at Comodo which is an SSL certificate provider recently whereby a number of fraudulent certificates were inadvertently issued. These allow a hacker to impersonate any site including online banking and the Firefox version you're running at the moment will not warn you that the site is a fake. The fraudulent certificates were blacklisted in v3.6.17 and beyond.
    See: http://blogs.comodo.com/category/it-security/data-security/
    It's not a good idea to install an ActiveX control in Firefox because you expose your machine to exploits which target that Microsoft technology. If you need to use Internet Explorer, then do that rather installing the IE Tab.
    You may find your other add-ons start working properly after you update Firefox, so do that first.

  • Version Control integration with SVN

    We want to implement Version Control integration for Siebel Tools with Subversion (SVN).
    After an informal chat with a consultant from Oracle, we got the reply like: Test, and see if it works.
    Now for my question, does anyone know a project where they used SVN as the version control tool in a Siebel project?

    Nothing much yet, but I found a website that has the batch file for integration with SVN.
    Guess I have to contact the author to get more details:

  • We would like to use cyrilic language characters in ECC system with custome

    We would like to use cyrilic language characters in ECC system with "customer reserve" language (Z1).
    We have positive experience on  one system for certain business partner in Macedonia (there is no Macedonian language to install as SAP standard) by using "customer reserve" language (Z1).
    Now we are about to introduce other system with same approach. The trouble is that after entering Macedonian language on an cost center with language Z1 on first language  and transfering it via idoc we get hashes("#") instead of characters on second language
    What could be the reason? I suplemented with english (as on the first system where everything is ok)  the "Customer reserve"(Z1)  language normaly(with default settings).
    On first system this was not done by me.
    Should supplementation be done specificly?.(how to find settings for supplemention on first system?)
    Please give me a hint

    Hi,
    To check supplement language go to T-code, SMLT ->Language ->Special actions->Supplementaion
    you can get more information from below SDN thread.
    Cyrilic char not coming properly
    Below SAP help document gives you how to find supplement language & installation of languaes.

  • Problem with tutorial; "Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using "

    I've got a rather new installation of Vista Business x64 on my developer rig, and last week I installed the new JDeveloper 11g version. The installation was all-inclusive, no customization on my end.
    In addition I've got a test installation of an Oracle DB 11gR1 on an available server here.
    To familiarize myself with the new JDeveloper I decided to spend some time with the JDeveloper 11g tutorials found here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/index.html.
    I've started twice on the second tutorial, "Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using EJB, JPA, and JavaServer Faces", and find myself repeatedly stuck at step 19 in section "Creating the Data Model and Testing it".
    It seems impossible to deploy the application to the default application server. The server starts fine on its own, I can access it via the admin console on port 7001 and it looks good. However, when I try to run the HRFacadeBean funny things are happening, symptomized by the following error messages seen in the IDE log-area:
    The "Messages" pane displays:

    I'm not that familiar with these things but it seems to me that there is an issue with port numbers here. The application seems to expect a app.server service at port 7101, but does'nt find one.
    Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated?

    Jupp,
    It fails in a similar way.
    What I did was; create a simle 'Hello World' html file, saving it with the jsp extension. In Jdev11g i made a new application and an emtpy project, then loaded the jsp file and made it the default run-target. This compiles nicely.
    When running the project it first attempts to start the WebLogicServer (WLS). After a few minutes it is started as seen in the "Running: DefaultServer" pane:

    DefaultServer started.
    In the "Messages" pane, however, things are not looking so good:
    Context: MakeProjectAndDependenciesCommand application=TestAppJsp.jws project=TestProjJsp.jpr
    [7:20:49 PM] Successful compilation: 0 errors, 0 warnings.
    [Application TestAppJsp is bound to Server Instance DefaultServer]
    [Starting Server Instance DefaultServer]
    #### Server Instance DefaultServer could not be started: Server Instance was terminated.
    But, of course, the server is actually running as I can access it via its Admin Console.
    So, I try to run the project again, and this time the following is shown in the "Messages" pane:
    Compiling...
    Context: MakeProjectAndDependenciesCommand application=TestAppJsp.jws project=TestProjJsp.jpr
    [7:26:39 PM] Successful compilation: 0 errors, 0 warnings.
    [Application TestAppJsp is bound to Server Instance DefaultServer]

    #### Server Instance DefaultServer could not be started: Server Instance was terminated.
    The "Running: DefaultServer" now comes up with:
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd
    [waiting for the server to complete its initialization...]
    [Server Instance DefaultServer is shutting down.  All applications currently running will be terminated and undeployed.]
    Process exited.
    The WLS is still running though as I can still access its adm console.
    To me it seems that it is attempting to start a separate instance of the WLS for each run attempt, but then I could be wrong.....:(
    Later I'll try to change the default WLS port from 7001 to 7101 as suggested in another port here.
    I must admit that I'm a bit surprised that the JDev11g doesn't work fine at this very simple level when performing a default install.

  • Version Control System?

    Is there an option for integrated version control?
    Specifically, is there a recommended plug-in available that
    integrates with Visual Source Safe (2005)? I'm using the dedicated
    Eclipse IDE for Flex 2 (ie... I'm not running Eclipse with the Flex
    2 plugin)
    I'm using Visual Studio 2005 and web services to integrate
    with Flex 2. I'm having a wonderful experience so far....kudos to
    your product team (I seriously think Microsoft delayed their
    expressions' tools after trying this out.) I hope you consider
    creating a Visual Studio plugin for Flex.
    Thanks,
    Daniel

    There are options for source control plugins for Eclipse
    (Flex Builder 2), but you'd have to go to the eclipse site to see
    what those options are.
    Here's the link to our bug and enhancement request form:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&product=20&6213=35
    Please give as much detail as you can regarding your desire
    for a Visual Studio edition of Flex. Can't hurt to ask.

  • Any issues using Apache's SOAP version 2 with Weblogic

    Hi,
    The Weblogic sever is not one in the list of servers that have been tried
    succesfully with Apache's SOAP. This is the list:
    Apache Tomcat v3.1
    IBM WebSphere v3.02
    JRun vx.y.z
    Microsoft Internet Information Server
    Has anyone tried SOAP with Weblogic?
    A recent thread mentions some problems (and solutions) with Weblogic and Xerces 1.1.2.
    SOAP requires Xerces 1.1.3. Therefore, I would also like to know if there is any issue
    using Weblogic with Xerces 1.1.3. I am using Weblogic 4.5 but I would try 5.1 if necessary
    for this.
    Thanks in advance,
    Javier

    In the apache soap binary download, there is a soap web application ( in the
    form of an exploded war file ). Just copy and paste this directory in the
    domain's "applications" directory. You will need to add a servlet-mapping
    element in the web.xml file, which could be something like this
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>rpcrouter</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/rpcrouter/*</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>

    I did the same thing except for servlet register. soap is webapp to WLS,so
    I add:
    weblogic.httpd.webApp.soap=D:/foo/soap-2_0/webapps/soap
    to weblogic.properties. Because sopa20 has a web.xml file in
    /foo/soap-2_0/webapp/soap/web-inf, I can only edit it to registerrpcrouter
    and keep the default webapp as the same. Otherwise, how do you add thesoap
    to you myserver/public_html? Unfortunately, it does not recognize the
    URL
    when I click the Visit link on soap admin page.
    I edit my web.xml as
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app
    PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.2//EN"
    "http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/web-app_2.2.dtd">
    <web-app>
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>
    rpcrouter
    </servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>
    org.apache.soap.server.http.RPCRouterServlet
    </servlet-class>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>ServicesStore</param-name>
    <param-value>DeployedServices.ds</param-value>
    </init-param>
    </servlet>
    </web-app>
    Can you try this? How did you add your rpcrouter servlet to the defualt
    webapp?
    Thanks

    After several painstaking hours I finally was able to get Apache Soap
    v2.0
    to work with weblogic. The version of weblogic I'm using is 4.51.
    You
    can
    get Apaceh soap from http://www.apache.org/soap. This version of Soap
    requires xerces v 1.2.1 which you can get from
    http://www.apache.org/xerces-j. To make it work with weblogic you
    have
    to
    first place the soap.jar file included with Apache soap and thexerces.jar
    file in both the classpath AND WEBLOGIC_CLASSPATH. Don't ask me why
    but
    I
    wasn't able to get it to work without it in both. Next you have to
    add
    the
    directory that your class files reside in to the classpath. Next you
    have
    to register the RCPRouter servlet in weblogic. The line to do thislooks
    like this:
    weblogic.httpd.register.rpcrouter=org.apache.soap.server.http.RPCRouterServl
    et
    where rpcrouter can be any name you want to use to call the routerservlet.
    That's all I had to do to set it up to view the stock quote example
    and
    the
    address book. The calculator is giving me a few other probems at the
    moment. Don't forget to deploy the different services but the command
    for
    that is given in the readme file for each example. For the router URL
    I
    used http://localhost:7001/rpcrouter which is that servlet you
    registered
    above.

  • RE: Using a source code control system with...

    Hi Khanh,
    In regards to your compile error...
    We found that an interesting difference between versions 2.0.D.x and 2.0.E.x
    was with the first line of an exported .CEX file.
    A la ...
    2.0.D line 1: begin;
    2.0.E line 1: begin CLASS;
    It caught me out. Just insert or remove the word CLASS using a text editor
    depending on your version of Forte.
    As for version control, we have been retaining workspace export files
    (wascally WEX files!) as backups and plan to make greater use of Baselining in
    the repository. In terms of securing our environment, this approach
    essentially meets our needs.
