Issue with af:selectOneChoice component

I am facing issue when using the selectOneChoice components in the below scenario
I have a page fragments, lets say it as MainPage.jsff, where records are shown in table. On selecting a record and pressing the update button the user moves to EditPage.jsff where the record is shown in editable mode. The MainPage.jsff and EditPage.jsff are based on the same View Object Instance. The EditPage.jsff contains 4 fields,
field1 - Non Editable
field2 - Non Editable
field3 - Editable - selectOneChoice - dependent on field1 and field2. Achieved by setting the bind values in the View Accessors.
field4 - Editable - selectOneChoice -dependent on field1, field2, field3. Achieved by setting the bind values in the View Accessors.
Test Case: -
User selects a record and clicks the edit button, all the fields - fields1, field2, field3, field4, fetch the correct values for the record. So far so good.
Now, the user navigates back to MainPage.jsff and selects another record and clicks on the update button. This time the values of the field1 and field2 are proper but the values of field3 and field4 which are editable and displayed in selectOneChoice component display some other value with select item of the list containing only one item. Is there some caching issue with the selectOneChoice components which is creating the issue?
When i do a browser refresh at this stage, the values in the fields - field3 and field4 are automatically set to correct value.
Also, when i drop field3 and field4 from the view object as simple <af:outputText> the values are shown with correct values.
Is there anything which i am missing?

Running Java program outside Jdeveloper -- issue with dependent libaries

Hello, I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.7 and have built a java application that imports XML Files into Oracle, then exports an XML file for others to pick up. I use jaxb, java persistance, and javax.mail etc....
when I run the application in Jdeveloper it works properly, and now I am trying to place the application in my u:\temp directory to test run from the command line. Later I will move this all to linux to run.
In Jdeveloper I followed the directions about adding all the dependent jars into the application using the File Groups ( http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/06/01/creating-a-jar-file-in-jdeveloper/ )
Doing this creates a very big jar file with all of the dependent jar files in it called xmlseprocessing.jar and then I run it as such in dos

Thank you for your reply. Please understand that I am on a tight deadline and have spent two weeks writing an application that I cannot run outside of jdeveloper. I only have some experience with java -- I have been working with Jdeveloper extensively, but have only been deploying to Weblogic, so a lot of this is foreign to me.
I had not noticed the comments underneath. I now understand that I need to extract all the jars that are dependent (all the files added to my jar file when I added the File Group Library), and did so. So I have all these jars and the jar of the application that was created.   I created a small class called commandLineStartup.java that simply had a main method in it, where I called the program to run in my xmlseprocessing.jar
I created a bat file that set the classpath (which I painstakingly created by taking the startup script that Jdeveloper created when running the program and replaced the various directory structure to match the location was running from

Now it blows up with this error java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/utils/NestedException
So I scour the internet and find a solution to create a wlFullClient.jar (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12840_01/wls/docs103/client/jarbuilder.html),
Now I run it and get Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/management/WebLogicMBean

This is absolutely crazy. I am doing this all manually and by hand, which is error prone. There has got to be a better way of doing it. Does ant make it so you can deploy and run? Is there some program that does this for me?   What happens when I throw this out on linux? Another two days of idiotic troubleshooting?

All I want to do is run the thing. I have now spent two days putting files into this and that directory, creating the Jar with and without the dependent jars and trying every combination.
Up to this point I have been impressed with Java. Now I am about to throw my computer out the window.

Validation problem with dependent selectOneChoice

Hi,
I have two af:selectOneChoice box. Both have valueChangeListener. 1st box will load the value in 2nd box and the 2nd box listener has some logic for rendering other component. Required and immediate attribute are true for both the box.
Now if I change the 1st box then automatically 2nd box "required" validation gets executed, ideally it should happen when I will click the submit button.
Plz help.

I am going to Lov from a multi line table Inv Lines to get the current row. and then set where clause based on that.
I also have another requirement to set where clause based on the columns that are not set as criteria.
It is like, it is not mandatory to enter two base page columns, but if entered I need to consider in filter my Lov rows.

Possible issue with dependency tracking?

I was just thinning out my herd of packages and decided to remove the gnome package group.
I noticed that I couldn't remove control-center because it's required by compiz-git.
Edited the compiz-git PKGBUILD (DaNiMoTh's one from AUR)
to remove the gnome dependency and took control-center out of the 'depends,' array.
I then made and installed the modified package, but 'pacman -Qi control-center,' still showed
compiz-git in the 'Required By' field even though the new package no longer had the dependency.
Seems that if a package stops being a dependency the change isn't reflected in pacman.
I could just Pacman -Rd, but it feels messy in this situation, and I don't think it's the right approach.
Any thoughts on this?

Issue with af:selectOneChoice using f:selectItems

Hi,
I'm getting Illegalargumentexception by having following code on page load, value passed to af:selectOneChoice is numeric, If i reload the page i dont get this exception.
This is hapenning every time i visit the page containing this code snippet. However everything works fine if </value-class> is java.lang.String and the value passed to af:selectOneChoice is String.
does any one know what is wrong here

Issue with using crystal 8.5 and crystal 13 simultanously in dependent apps

Hello All,
I am facing some issue with different crystal versions used in applications. My application(let's say X13) is using crystal 13.0.10.1385 dotnet API and another application (let's say Y85) is using crystal 8.5 dotnet API version. My application X13 has a module which is dependent on application Y85 module and exchange information between them.
As both applications use crystal, CRPE32.dll is loaded in memory once for both the applications. The issue derives from the fact that the application X13 brings the crpe32.dll (version 13.0.10.1385) located in folder “C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86” into memory. If the application X13 is not loaded into memory first then the version of crpe32.dll (i.e. 8.5.0.461) located in the application Y85 install folder will be used.
As we know that CR 13 and CR 8.5 are two entirely different API's now without any compatibility with each other. Now if my application X13 is initialized first and crpe32.dll (version 13.0.10.1385) is loaded in memory, on accessing the module dependent on application Y85, Y85 tries to make crystal calls.
It tries to call to PEOpenEngine, PEOpenPrintJob, PEGetNTables, PEGetNthTableLocation, crPEGetNthTableLogOnInfo and PEGetNDatabaseFields which executes fine but It is only the call to PEGetNthDatabaseFieldInfo that fails, with a return value of 0. Below is the sequence order of calls:
A 2013 .NET Crystal Engine is initialized first using ReportDocument.Load method or CrystalEngine.CRPE.InitCrpe.Also note that calling CrystalEngine.CRPE.CloseCrpe has no positive effect of eliminating the issue.
Subsequent calls to PEOpenEngine, PEOpenPrintJob, PEGetNTables, PEGetNthTableLocation, crPEGetNthTableLogOnInfo and PEGetNDatabaseFields all execute just fine.
It is only the call to PEGetNthDatabaseFieldInfo that fails, with a return value of 0.
Question arises here is how to get PEGetNthDatabaseFieldInfo working when the .NET Crystal Engine has already been initialized.
Is there a separate declare we can add to our VB6 code that will be compatible with crpe32.dll version 13.0.10.1385?
Or can we load both crpe32.dll (version 13.0.10.1385 and 8.5.0.461) in parallel and instruct .NET crystal to use version 13 and other one to use version 8.5 dll?
I have attached a sample code demonstrating same too. It will be great if anyone can help me on this.

Hi Saurabh,
CR 8.5 never was side-by-side compatible with any other version of CR runtime.
And as of CR 9 you no longer are licensed to be able to use crpe32 as the reporting engine. R&D can change it at anytime so absolutely no support for it in that respect either. After CR 9 crpe32 was completely rewritten and a lot of parts were removed into their own dll's. The major parts were the DB drivers were renamed and the Parameter API's were also updated and old one's are no longer recognized, or may not work the same way.
So why not simply completely drop 8.5 since it is over 12 years old now... There is no reason you need to still be supporting it. We dropped support for it a long long time ago.

Issue with PTO (Paid Time Off) quota generation

We have an issue with quota generation of PTO for our employees.
The issue goes like this:
We have a Paid time off for employees 5weeks( 200 hrs) for employees who have worked less than 5 years.
we have paid time off for employees 6 weeks ( 240 hrs) for employees who have worked more than 5 years.
we have the following logic that has to go in this config:
-- Our fiscal year starts on Feb 1st and ends on Jan end or Feb starts which has a full week of working days. ( ex: if 01/31/2012 falls on a Thursday the following Monday which has full 5 day working week would be the end of the fiscal year).
-- Depending on the working hours of the employees and the date of joining for the first year ( for new hires)0041 info type the eligibility gets varied and reduced. Ex( employees who joins on start of fiscal year and works 40hrs per week schedules is eligible for 200hrs of PTO. Employees who join in the month of august and works for 35 hrs per week ( i.e mid of fiscal year) would get 91 hrs of PTO.
I need to put this in the system. I am thinking this could be done with out tweaking PCR.I need help in configuring this in Absence quotas as to what are the things i need change in system config and how do i do it. Please help with some screen shots if possible. I really need this to get it done ASAP. Looking forward for help.

We use TM00 schema. Can i call TS15 and TS 12 rules into TM00 acheieve my issue of quota entilements?
Iam doing this because my businees needs to see if an employee chages his work schedule from 40 to 30 or 20 etc.. the PTO has to vary accordingly.
As the minimum eligibility is to work for 20 hrs to avail the PTO days. If at any point the employee drops it under 20 he will not be eligible till he work any this >= 20hrs per month so the evaluation has to check periodically to update the quota availability.... I need help plz suggest ...

Issues with multiple things since Mavericks update

I installed the Mavericks update and since, I have been having multiple problems with different things on my MacBook Pro 13"
1. Printer issues: I have an HP officejet 6500 wireless printer (Officejet 6500 E709n Series), and now it's having major issues with printing, yet was working perfect prior to update. It will either cut out pages when printing PDF documents, or printing so slow that it has to take a break in between printing each document (an issue that all never occurred until update), to print documents back to back, it will stop after one document as though I have no other documents in queue to print, and pauses for an extremely long time (nearly a full minute, no exaggeration here, literally almost a full 60 seconds), something it's never done before this update. My Apps update even did an update to the HP software that is inside the Mac already to use printing (in other words, the mac doesn't need to have the HP software manually installed for it to work, it automatically sees the printer because it is connected to my wireless network just as my Macbook Pro which is also connected wirelessly to my network).
2. Internet issues: am now unable to click on certain links in safari that I was able to use prior to the update, yet they will open fine inside of firefox with no issues, yet I cannot always switch between two different browsers to perform task online (literally have to start all over inside firefox while in the middle of something in safari). Also lots of websites no longer work correctly and I have to constantly clear history and cookies to attempt to use certain sites, at times it will help, other times it wont work period, yet the same exact site will work perfect in firefox (which I do not use, only on my system for use on certain sites for school because in safari prior to the update, I would have issues with only the class site and some links not working at all, no spinning wheel, no errors, just nothing, no response of any kind, basically worse than what it was before the update). Another issue, hit Ctrl+a to select inside Safari and it highlights, but then when you click out of the highlight, it comes back on it's own several times without you hitting anything, just click inside the screen on a blank space (no links, etc) with touchpad.
3. System issues: My system is way slower than what it was prior to the update, click on things and it wont respond at all, then minutes later will eventually respond or pops up the spinning color wheel, which it either never responds or takes an extremely long time to respond. And no matter how much I restart, it doesn't help anything. Even just to sit doing nothing, no clicking or usage on the system, and the color wheel pops up.
4. Mail issues: Mail is now popping up completely blank messages that I have sent out, the person receives it with no issues, yet I cannot look at the message I sent neither in the inbox or the sent items when I need to look at them again, an issue not present prior to update. Also I an now having issues when receiving mail, sometimes it will check for mail and sometimes I have to manually click to make it check the server for mail, an issue not present prior to update as well.
As of now, since I have had the chance to used the system since the update, these are the issues I have had, yet haven't had the chance to check other things, so there may be other issues that are occurring that I'm not aware of at the moment. I knew it would be a mistake to do this "free" update and did so anyway and now having one issue after the next with each application I open to use.
Mac general info:
Mac is one year old, purchased brand new, no shareware programs of any kind installed.
Use for school and basic web surfing use.
Do not install any programs onto system that I'm unsure are safe (basically programs for/from school/school websites only, or from the Mac Apps store only), not even programs like Skype, nor any windows based programs of any kind.
Lots of free memory avail because I save everything onto external hard drives (purchased brand new as well, only 4months old) in case system crash occurs, only things on the system is Itunes music or pics from photo stream that sync to the system when Iphone connected.

- Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
- Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
- Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
- Software OS X 10.9
- Number of Processors:          1
- Total Number of Cores:          2

For those needing help fixing their system and putting it back to Lion or Mountain Lion, this is what I have done to eliminate all my issues in about an hour (depending on your internet connection).
Amazing thing, I just restored my computer back to Mountain Lion, and she's working perfect again, as I knew she would. E-mail popping into mailbox instantly as it should and did before the update, printer working fast as it was before update, no more freezing or glitches of any kind thankfully and finally. Here is the link that is through the Apple site to direct you on how to put your system back and get rid of Maverick's, that is assuming that is what you would like to do and also includes link for those wanting to try fixing the issue if that is your preference (most of this info is for those with mountain lion and some with the previousverisoin of OS X lion).

I hope this helps someone, it was amazing for me and my system is working perfect again like it was, battery life is way better went from like 3 hours to like 5 (not on full charge by the way, after it sat for a while doing the online update which took a while so that's saying something alone, huge improvement). I plan to wait a while before attempting to reinstall Maverick's, long enough for them to fix the bugs.

Performance issues with version enable partitioned tables?

Hi all,
Are there any known performance issues with version enable partitioned tables?
Ive been doing some performance testes with a large version enable partitioned table and it seems that OCB optimiser is choosing very expensive plans during merge operations.

Hello Vitor,
There are currently no known issues with version enabled tables that are partitioned. The merge operation may need to access all of the partitions of a table depending on the data that needs to be moved/copied from the child to the parent. This is the reason for the 'Partition Range All' step in the plan that you provided. The majority of the remaining steps are due to the hints that have been added, since this plan has provided the best performance for us in the past for this particular statement. If this is not the case for you, and you feel that another plan would yield better performance, then please let me know and I will take a look at it.
One suggestion would be to make sure that the table was been recently analyzed so that the optimizer has the most current data about the table.
Performance issues are very hard to fix without a reproducible test case, so it may be advisable to file a TAR if you continue to have significant performance issues with the mergeWorkspace operation.

Issue with deploying in WLS 10.3, Jdev11g

I previously has issue with ClassNotFoundException on log4j.logger class and I was able to resolved it by following suggestion on this thread: Re: Question about dependent projects (and their libraries) in 11g and add the following to my WEB-INF/weblogic.xml:

However, after I i have this added, I'm unable to deploy my application because of invalid cast exception:

WLS 10.3 supports two options for adding application wide libraries in the EAR file. You can add them either to the APP-INF/lib or a library directory of your choice.
- Select the application in the Application Navigator drop down.
- Open the Context Menu and select Application Properties.
- In Deployment create a Deployment Profile
- In the Application Assembly select all the libraries and enter a directory name for each (eg. APP-INF/lib)
If you like to have a library directory of your choice do all the steps above plus:
- Expand the Application Resources accordion
- Expand the Deployment Descriptors
- Add the application.xml Deployment Descriptor version 5.0
- Add the <library-directory>libname</library-directory>

Focus issue with CardLayout (Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition 1.4.0_01)

I am having an issue with focus and CardLayout with Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition 1.4.0_01. I have created a small sample application to illustrate my problem. In general, I am trying to create a "Wizard" that the user will enter information and then press a "Next" button to proceed to the next step.
When the first card is displayed, the focus is on the first text field as expected.
When I go to the next card by clicking "Next", the focus is not on the text field that has requested it (through the requestFocusInWindow method). The focus is on the "Cancel" button, which is the next component to receive focus after the "Next" button on that panel. I do notice that if I use my mouse to bring focus to the window the text field will gain focus.
Similarly, when I proceed to the last card, the focus is not on the "Finish" button until the mouse moves over the window.
Is there something I am doing wrong or is there a bug with focus and CardLayout?
One other problem I have noticed is that the buttons no longer respond to the "Enter" key press and instead respond to the space bar. Any suggestions as to why this is the case?

Thanks for your reply. I tried requestFocus() and it gives the same results. Also Sun's 1.4.0 API (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/api/) mentions the following with respect to the requestFocus() method in the JComponent class:
Because the focus behavior of this method is platform-dependent, developers are strongly encouraged to use requestFocusInWindow when possible.
That is why I used requestFocusInWindow.

But it doesn't list the server while deploying the application.
I don't see the issue in my office network. But I encounter this problem when I work at my home.
Ideally it should show the following lines after server is started:
DefaultServer startup time: 195467 ms.
DefaultServer started.
This is not happening if i run the server without network.
How can I fix this problem?

I see some message about a proxy. Have you checked that you can use the proxy from you network?
If not you should turn the proxy off.

User log in issue with Xcelsius SWF file

HI,
I am using the BI as source to BO. Xcelsius dashboard is using webi data by live office.
I have exported the xcelsius in swf file & ppt format.
i am using the credentials user name, password and authentication as SAP.
I have the roles which are created in BI and imported to BO and the roles have users in BI , which came by default to BO.
Now I have created the new users in BI with initial password. I cant login to infoview or swf until i change the initial password in BI and thn with new password i can log in to BO. I understood this concept.
But confusing part is after changing to new password in BI, i can be able to log in to swf or PPT but not fetching latest data from data base.
if i log on first into infoview , thn i can be able to log onto swf file or PPT correctly and access the latest data.
If i directly access the ppt file , i get 'failed to get the document information. lo 26315". But if i login to infoview first then to swf or ppt i wont get any problem.
The problem is, users are access the dashboard file from ppt and pdf. So , is there any work around that, the new user can directly access the data from swf or ppt, without entering the infoview???

May i Know which connection you are using for fetching data into xcelsius, is it LO(Live Office) or Qaaws
if it is Live Office then what is the refresh property set for live office object? and how many live office objects or how many qaaws connection u are using.?
provide the answe of all the above question, i'll be able to help you and Infoview has nothing to do it with the real time data connectivity. the dashboard is completely dependent on the connections used to get data into the xcelsius, if the error is coming in PPT or PDF standalone then there is some issue with the connection used in xcelsius, just let me know the answer of all the above questions.

Issue with report RBDMIDOC

Hi Gurus,
I have an issue with the report RBDMIDOC. When I run it to the message type MATMAS, it takes 8 or 9 seconds to send the IDoc. With the message type CLFMAS takes 3 seconds.
The duration of the execution of this report depends only of the access to the BDCP and BDCPS tables or is there any other factor that has influence on this time?
The BDCPS table has 300000 entries, and is well indexed.
What could I do to reduce this time?
