Issue with JSTL ( c:import ) tags in Weblogic 9.2

Hi,
I'm trying to migrate a struts (1.2.9) application from Weblogic 8.1 to Weblogic 9.2. This application has JSPs with JSTL (1.0) tags.
I have a JSP page that has multiple (around 7) c:import statements. When I launch my application, only the content from the last c:import statement is being displayed and rest of the c:import tags statements is simply ignored by Weblogic.
I don't find any errors in the logs. When I comment out last c:import statement in this JSP then the content from the above c:import statement is being displayed. Only one (last one) c:import statement's content is being displayed in that whole page.
This app worked just fine Weblogic 8.1.
Any resolutions, hints, insights or workarounds on this issue is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Mani

Hello,
You should not need to edit the wlp-light-web-lib.war weblogic.xml file. There are many places where other classes in wlp-light-web-lib are dynamically loading classes (using Class.forName()) from "higher-level" shared library modules (such as wlp-framework-full-web-lib), so I am certain that it works in general. There may just be an issue with how your shared library is set up, or how your webapp deployment descriptors are set up.
So you mention that you have a shared library module containing your implementation of the AnalyticEventHandler; is this a .war file? And in the webapp you are trying to deploy this in, does your weblogic.xml explicitly include your shared library? If so, is your shared library being included before or after the standard WLP shared libraries?
If you would like, posting your webapp's weblogic.xml may help to find the problem.

• Getting img tags to work in sub page using jstl core import tag

Am trying to bring disparate system page reports together under one web app. This means using the jstl core import tag (I dont want to redirect as I want to hide the urls, this web app provides better security than those it calls).
Use of the import tag works to a degree but any resources (ie. img tags) don't load.
Have created a much simplified example that demonstrates..
So heres the jsp...
<%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/core" %>

Delivery Performance Report

<c:url value="http://localhost/mycontext/subpage.html" var="myUrl"/>
<c:import url="${myUrl}" />and a simple sub page (note plain html, no jsp, this mimics my project as the other systems are hidden source, non jsp)

sub page

This is the sub page

While I dont get any errors what I do get is ..
Delivery Performance Report
This is the sub page
...but image fails to load.
If I redirect instead of import it works, but as I said I need to hide the url from the user as security is an issue.
Any help appreciated, really pulling my hair out with this final stage of something that will make a real difference to us!
regards,
G.

Thanks for the answer but Im afraid thicko here doesnt get it.
The img src is relative to the sub page, and I have tried it with an absolute address (ie. http://localhost/.....) with the same result.
If I call the sub page direct (get with browser) the image tag works. Its just if the sub page is imported with the jstl core import tag.
I've not tried a base tag. The real project always returns pages containing absolute urls... http://ourReportServer/reports?....plenty of params so dont belive relevant, please correct me if Im wrong here though.
thanks, G.

• Has anyone had issues with Administration\Data Import/Export\Data Import???

Has anyone had issues with Administration\Data Import/Export\Data Import???
I have a client who has recently upgraded from V2007 to V8.81. They were succesfuly using this standard function to import supplier prices to their master price list, but now it has failed?
I have looked at the file they are importing and it appears to be fine.
On closer inspection, it did contain approx 46,000 entries, so I took the first 1,000 and created a test file, which imported fine.
The only issue I found was Speed, with the test file of 1,000 records taking about 30 Mins to import. This appeared to get slower and slower the further through the file it got!
Based on this, I have estimated that the whole file would takle about 13 hours to import. The client say that when they used to run it on version 2007 it was far quicker?
In practice, it does appear to run, but the speed is the issue. Having said this, I set the whole file to run last night (over night)and this morning it had appeared to hang after about 2,307 rows, with nothing else being updated.
Has anyone any ideas or is aware of performance issues like this?
Thanks,
Ian

Always an option, but would you give your clients access to this tool?
Not sure really.
I have uploaded a copy of their database onto my test system and run the same routine. Its equally as SLOW
I can't gauage if its an issue with 8.81 that 2007 didn't have, as I only have the client's word on it, however I have no reason to disbelieve them.
Kind regards,
Ian

• JSTL c:import tag question

HI
I have a question about how the <c:param> tag interacts with <c:import> tag.
<c:import> tag can be used to import from relative URL's like <c:import url="target.jsp" /> , from absolute urls like <c:import url="http://www.espn.com" /> or from another web application on the same server by specifying the context attribute like <c:import context="/myotherwebapp" url="some.jsp" />
we can use <c:param> tag as an optional child tag for <c:import> to send request parameter to the page it is loading. For absolute url sending request parameters makes sense beacuse the import will be treated as new request and original request object will not be passed . but for relative urls and including the page in different web application on same web server does the jsp container treat it as part of same original request and does the target page have access to the original request object ? if this is true then how can you set additional request parameters on the request object? because once the request object is craeted by jsp container you can only add/remove attributes on it but you can never add parameters on it.
Now if the jsp container always creates new request object for each of the above included pages then these pages will not have access to original request parameters entered by the user. Is that not a limitation.
I am a little bit confused . hopefully somebody can help me out.
thanks

the c:param tag are added to the url and are not set as request parameter.
<c:import url="target.jsp">
<c:param var="test" value="val">
</c:import>then is will do an import like
<c:import url="target.jsp?test=val"/>

• Issue with burning and importing music

my MBpro is excessively "picky" about burning, or importing music from or to a cdr.
System details
MBPro 15in
2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB RAM
current OS: OS X 10.6.8
here is summary of issue.
Ive been transferring all my CDs to my HD. Sometimes, i will insert a CD (all CDs mentioned within are purchased) and each time is a guessing game as to if it will recognize or read it and import the CD. Sometimes ive had to re-insert the same cd 3-4 times before it will recognize/read it and import it. Condition of disc i.e. scratches etc. doesnt matter (within logical reason, i dont try to insert a CD that is obviously unreadable). could be brand new, or several years old in like new condition.
i have also had this issue with a blank CDR and trying to burn music from my iTunes to them, also playback of a CDR that i had created using this laptop. Ive purchased and thrown away probably 2-300 brand new blank cdr's because it wont recognize them. I do remember not having an issue of creating cds when i used the "black" style CDR's. Which i have yet to try out, since this issue arose. I dont want to spend the money on the black style cdr's and it be a waste.
I realize that its an older MBPro, and would understand if the super drive unit, itself is worn out, and just needs replaced. anyways, any help is appreciated
thank you.

• JSTL c:import tag exception on WAS 6.20

Hi all,
has anyone been able to use the c:import jstl 1.0 tag on WAS 6.20?
Everytime we access it it throws the following error:
Exception occurs while processing a request to the servlet: jsp.
javax.servlet.jsp.JspTagException: Since tag handler class org.apache.taglibs.standard.tag.el.core.ImportTag implements BodyTag, it can't return Tag.EVAL_BODY_INCLUDE

• Issue with Metadata when importing 30K images from Photoshop Elements 7

I'm a new mac user and am moving ~30k images from my PC to my mac. I have photoshop elements 7 that I use on the pc and am moving everything over to Aperture. I maintain all of my organization on the PC using "key words". I made sure to move all of the metadata over to the Mac with the images. However, I would say approx 5,000-10,000 of the images have the wrong Metadata. For example, a key-word "Vacation" is showing up on an image that should say "Christmas". This is just an example and it's creating major issues with my smart albums. The wrong images are in the wrong albums. Help!?!?

Hi Shellie
Is anyone familiar with PSEDBTOOL? I've been told it will do a good job applying metadata to files inside PSE but I'm afraid to run it and have it screw up my current library.
I'm not familiar with that tool. What I will say is that your caution is well founded. If you do try to run anything like that on the PC side, ensure first that you have a backup of any data that might be modified - and that you (a) know how to restore from the backup in case anything goes pear-shaped and (b) you've actually tested your backup (by doing a restore) and are confident with its integrity.
One other thought has occurred to me since earlier. Let's try a different tool...
– Locate one of your problematic master files - on the Mac side - as exported from PhotoShop Elephants.
– Open it in Preview. (It lives in the Applications folder.)
– Select +Tools > Show Inspector+ (if the Inspector is not already showing from an earlier session).
– Click on the Inspector icon which resembles a simplified traditional magnifying glass.
That displays the keywords in the file.
How do they compare with your expectations (from PSE)? How do they compare with what's showing in Aperture?
This won't solve the problem, but it might just shed some more light on the problem.

Gary

• JSTL-c:import tag and c:param with portlets

I am writing a JSP file in a portlet application to use the c:import JSTL tag to include a JSP file. However, I am trying to pass a parameter via c:param to this included file but the parameter is not being passed. The included JSP file gets "null" when trying to retrieve the value of this parameter, due to the fact that the parameter is not being passed. See code below:

• Performance issue with FDM when importing data

In the FDM Web console, a performance issue has been detected when importing data (.txt)
In less than 10 seconds the ".txt" and the ".log" files are created the INBOX folder (the ".txt" file) and in the OUTBOX\Logs (the ".log" file).
At that moment, system shows the message "Processing, please wait” during 10 minutes. Eventually the information is displayed, however if we want to see the second page, we have to wait more than 20 seconds.
It seems a performance issue when system tries to show the imported data in the web page.
It has been also noted that when a user tries to import a txt file directly clicking on the tab "Select File From Inbox", the user has to also wait other 10 minutes before the information is displayed on the web page.
Thx in advance!
Cheers
Matteo

Hi Matteo
How much data is being imported / displayed when users are interacting with the system.
There is a report that may help you to analyse this but unfortunately I cannot remember what it is called and don't have access to a system to check. I do remember that it breaks down the import process into stages showing how long it takes to process each mapping step and the overall time.
I suspect that what you are seeing is normal behaviour but that isn't to say that performance improvements are not possible.
The copying of files is the first part of the import process before FDM then starts the import so that will be quick. The processing is then the time taken to import the records, process the mapping and write to the tables. If users are clicking 'Select file from Inbox' then they are re-importing so it will take just as long as it would for you to import it, they are not just asking to retrieve previously imported data.
Hope this helps

• Having issue with XML in CDATA tag

Currently I am having a major issue that I've been dealing with for the last four days unsuccessfully. I run a search against our data provider (lets say the term searched on is 'foobar'). We get back an XML document on our server along with a list of objects that has the start index of where the hit terms are found and the length from the start of the index (our data provider calculates all of this for us). We then take that XML document in its exact state as it's given to us from our data provider and wrap it in a CDATA tag and put it into another XML document and pass that to our FLEX app. The document looks something like this coming back from the server (we're using REST). This is not the true original document as it was shortened for readability.

<Document>

<HITTERMS>
<HITTERM index="45" length="6" />
<HITTERM index="105" length="6" />
<HITTERM index="260" length="6" />
</HITTERMS>
<DocumentXML>

</TEXT>

</DOC></DocumentXML>
</Document>
I've confirmed the XML coming from the server looks exactly as it does above. The issue is for some reason whenever I try to get the text out of '<DocumentXML>' it formats the code in a way that won't work for me since it throws off the offsets of the hit terms and changes the original document. Whenever I do a .toString() on the XML it puts breaks before each '<' and after each '>' so it spaces everything out inside the CDATA tag. Now the XML looks like this when turned into a string:

<Document>

<HITTERMS>
<HITTERM index="45" length="6" />

</DOC>

</DocumentXML>
</Document>
I need to be able to keep the original document as-is in the first example so I can calculate where the hit terms are so that I can highlight them and there are things further down the road that I'm going to need to be able to do so a simple search and replace will not get the job done unfortunately. Has anyone ever encountered this before or have any idea possibly how to fix this. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with this.

Didn't work. Now it spaces out all of the XML, not just the document wrapped in the CDATA tag. Looks like this now:

<Document>

• Issue with triggers while importing (imp) to another user

hi all,
we have two oracle databases (oracle 10g R2)
1. production
2. test (clone of production)
whenever we need to update the test database for the developers we take a full export dump of the production (hardly 20GB) and import the same into test after dropping the tables in the required schema
export system/***@production file=exp.dmp log=log.log full=y statistics=nonewe have a schema named user1, in production.
same is the case in test
I got a request to refresh the user1 schema in test, but with a different schema user2 (new schema created), as there was some critical dev. work going on with user1 schema.
hence i didnt want to touch the user1 schema in test environment & after taking an export dump of the production i didnt import it into the same schema.
i imported the dump data to user 2 schema
imp system/***@test file=exp.dmp log=implog.log fromuser=user1 touser=user2 statistics=nonethe moment i did this developers working with user1 schema started facing issues when their code hit triggers on user1 schema. all insert/update triggers in the user1 schema started pointing to corresponding tables in user2.
any clues why something like this happened? what was the mistake in he imp command i used?
thanks for your time

Hi,
Check for the trigger source in your original schema. If it has schema name mentioned before the tables on which the trigger is created, it would create problem during import. While importing, it will reference the previous schema , though you are importing it in new schema.
If this is the case, remove the schema name from the source and then export and re import.

• CS5.5--Issues with audio from imported avi's & issues exporting

To Start, my laptop:
CPU: Intel® Core ™ i7-2330QM CPU @ 2.00 GHz
CPU Clock Frequency: 2.00 GHz
System Memory: 8 GBytes
Cache Memory: 1 MBytes/6 Mbytes
Manufacturer: Sony Corporation
Model name: VPCF226FM
BIOS VERSION: R1190V#
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
ME Version: 7.0.10.1203
System Type: 64-bit Operating System
I downloaded the 30-day free trial of Premiere Pro CS5.5 with all updates. To play with the program, for my own personal amusement, I wanted to edit together pieces from a bunch of avi videos that I know to play properly outside the program, tested on more than one computer.
At first, importing the files seemed to be no problem, making subclips as I went along.
However, as I continued to import files, there began to be a sound issue--sometimes the sound not being present till I was 1/3 of the way through the clip, sometimes the sound seemingly playing catch up with audio that should be earlier in the video appearing later, sometimes the sound wouldn't come up at all, and still other times I'd be, for example, on video 5 when pieces of audio from video 2 would start playing over the current video.
I initially thought it may just be a memory issue, working with many large video files.
But later, when I went to edit the subclips I made, I found that many of them no longer had sound, even if they did when I initially subclipped them.
Weirdly, in the timeline, there is no consistency, as clips will appear in the video track but only some show audio tracks too. But those with audio tracks don't always play audio and those that show NO audio tracks at all actually do play audio sometimes. Also, those that show audio tracks and don't play them sometimes will show waveforms, sometimes don't. A clip with no waveform may not play 95% of the time, but then occasionally will suddenly have the waveform and play a couple times before reverting back to no audio.
A suitable solution for this personal amusement project would just be to drop a new soundtrack over the thing but, before I even got that far, I tried exporting as avi's and mpeg4's but then get error messages such as:
Premiere Pro has encountered an error.
[..\..\Src\Win\WinFile.cpp-785]
Error compiling movie.
Unknown error.
In case it was a memory issue, I tried starting a new project, only importing 2 videos, but had the same audio and exporting issues.
I'm getting really frustrated as I spent a lot of time importing/subclipping and then even more time prepping before that.
For those who are bound to ask, while new to Premiere, I'm not a novice with editing. I've used Final Cut Pro at work for many years (without such issues).

• Issue with Oracle Export/Import

Hello Oracle,
I m using Oracle Import Utility to Import data .This utility, i m controlling through a C#.Net Application.
But I want to show the time estimation required to complete the Export/Import process in advance just like the windows feature when we are copying files from one place to another.
How can we get time estimation in advance to import the dump file or after analysis of dump file ?
Is Oracle providing any information regarding estimated time required to import the dump in data base.
Pls guide me.
Thanks.
Regards
Tarun

But I want to show the time estimation required to
complete the Export/Import process in advance just
like the windows feature when we are copying files
from one place to another.So you want to show the user that it will be another 10 minutes left to complete the export/import, and just when he/she thinks it is nearly complete the time to remaining is reported in some 20+ digit number? ;)
The export and import utilities do not have a method to report the time remaining to complete that I have seen.

• Lightroom 5 auto import issues with nikon d90

Hoping someone can help answer my question - I am wondering if Lightroom 5 has any issues with the auto import or tethering feature using a Nikon d90? I was using Lightroom 2 and the auto import feature has no issues with my d90. After I installed Lightroom 5 (Cloud App) and ran it for the first time, the first thing I used was the tethering feature and it worked great for 4 shots. I turned my camera off and then back on again and LR would not recognize my camera any longer for tethering. What's strange is that it will detect it for "Importing from Device" option. So, I went to plan two which was to auto import and that wasn't working at all. I am at a loss. I have a shoot coming up this weekend and need for one of these options to work. Any help is appreciated!!!

I use a D90, but I have never tried tethered shooting with it. Other users might have some suggestions for you, but looking at the list of supported cameras for tethered shooting the D90 is not "officially" supported in Lightroom. So you're probably on your own to find solutions. I know this isn't a lot of help.
