  • Issue with language settings and units

    Hello All,
    We are facing the issue where since yetsreday days our language sttings are not working anymore.
    The characteristics which were loading fine before suddenly started giving error and now there are lot of issue with the special characters.
    Since we have data in almost all the european languages and with the entries from there language specific keyboard therefore list of chars now cannot be maintained in the RSKC.
    We did a lot of verification and there was no changes done and no transport related to language settings was done.
    The settings maintained before was ALL_CAPITAL and it was working fine till yesterday.
    We have raised an OSS message with SAP but still wanted to know if anyone is aware of the reason.
    Thanks
    Ajeet

    Is this unicode issue ???
    Check the below thread :

  • Issue with language specific characters combined with AD-Logon to BO platform and client tools

    We are using SSO via Win AD to logon to BO-Launchpad. Generally this is working which means for Launch Pad no manual log on is needed. But  this is not working for users which have language specific letters in their AD name (e.g. öäüéèê...).
    What we have tried up to now:
    If the AD-User name is Test-BÖ the log on is working with the user name Test-BO with logon type AD
    If the logon Type "SAP" is used than it is possible to use the name Test-BÖ as the username
    Generally it is no problem in AD to use language specific letters (which means it is possible to e.g. log on to Windows with the user Test-BÖ)
    It is possible to read out the AD attributes from BO side and add them to the user. Which means in the user attributes the AD name Test-BÖ is shown via automatic import from AD. So it's not the problem that the character does not reach BO.
    I have opened a ticket concerning that. SAP 1th level support is telling me that this is not a BO problem. They say it is a problem of Tomcat. I don't believe that because the log on with authentification type SAP is working.
    I have set up the same combination (AD User Test-BÖ with SAP User Test-BÖ) as a single sign on authentification in SAP BW and there it is working without problems.
    Which leads me to the conlusion: It is not a problem of AD. It is something which is connected to the BO platform but only combined with logon type AD because SAP Logon is working with language specific characters.

    I have found this article with BO support:
    You cannot add a user name or an object name that only differs by a character with a diacritic mark
    Basically this means AD stores the country specific letters as a base letter internally. Which means that if you have created a user with a country specific letter in the name you can also logon with the Base letter to Windows.
    SAP-GUI and Windows are maybe replacing the country specific letters by the base letter. Due to that SSO is working. BO seems not to be able to do that. Up to now the supporter from BO is telling me that this is not a BO problem.
    Seems to be magic that the colleagues of SAP-GUI are able to to it.

  • Display issues with languages other than English (also related: slide results not reporting to LMS)

    Running: Captivate 6
    I'm having two
     issues that I thought was only tied to Cyrillic characters, but appears to be with multiple languages (confirmed with Brazillian Portugese, Latin American Spanish, Swedish and Russian).
    1. Quiz Pass/Fail result message appearing truncated (top and bottom of message is cut off, or message appears wrapped and overlaps)
    I've attempted converting the text to a UTF-8 format and tried that as well, but had no success.
    2. We have a 108 slide test created in Captivate v6; the English version pushes all 108 slide results to our LMS without issue. When we created the version in Russian, one slide refused to push slide results.
    Steps to confirm/resolve:
    I've confirmed the settings are identical on the project and on the slide between both the EN and RU versions
    I've pasted the russian text into the working EN project and published/tested and that particular slide does not push results to the LMS (the only thing changed was the text on the existing slide)
    I've tried duplicating working slides and replacing text; it fails to report
    I've tried converting the text to a UTF-8 format and replacing the text; again it fails to push slide results to our LMS
    I've tried about every option I can to get the RU version fo the test working (pushing results for all 108 slides); Out of desperation I've created a work around which is putting the question and answer options in as images (not text) and then the test pushes all 108 slide results. This leads me to believe that the issue is regarding how the font is viewed/read by Captivate 6 and ultimately reported to our LMS (SABA).
    I've reached out to our localization company (SDL) and their only suggestion was the UTF-8 formatting (which failed).
    Please help! Thanks!!

  • Issues with language from form locale & PDF language syncing

    I have my completed fillable PDF form that I designed in the LiveCycle, but when it's in its PDF version, it's not reflecting "English" as the language setting.
    Here's what I've done:
    In LiveCycle:
    File --> Form Properties --> Defaults --> Form Locale is set to "English USA"
    On the same form, in PDF:
    File --> Properties --> Advanced --> Language is BLANK & GREYED out so I cannot even edit it.
    I'm running LiveCycle 8.2 and Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
    We can't upload currently because it's not Section 508 compliant with the missing language. I work for the government so there's no workaround - it has to be fixed.
    Any advice?

    I did find a solution. I'm currently using Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2 as an FYI.
    Example:
    (1) Create a blank form
    (2) Pull over the "TEXT" Box
    (3) Your "Layout" & "Object" tabs should appear on the right of your screen.
    (4) In the "Object" tab, under Locale, click on the drop down box and select "English (USA)". I know it automatically defaults to it underneath, but you have to physically place it in the box.
    I have found you have to do this for every item you put on your form whether it's a check box, Numeric Field, everything. If you have Adobe Pro 9 like me, a way to make sure you correctly placed the "English (USA)" in all the boxes, in Adobe Pro, complete the following steps:
    Click on "Advanced" from the menu bar
    "Accessibility"
    "Full Check"
    It will run a full check to ensure your form is Section 508 compliant. Hope this helps.

  • Issues with language-specific characters and Multi Lexer

    I want to create a text index with global lexer and different languages. But how to create the index to satisfy all languages?
    Oracle EE 10.2.0.4 (UTF8) on Solaris 10
    1.) Create global lexer with german as default and czech, turkish as additional languages.
    begin
         ctx_ddl.drop_preference('global_lexer');
         ctx_ddl.drop_preference('german_lexer');
         ctx_ddl.drop_preference('turkish_lexer');
         ctx_ddl.drop_preference('czech_lexer');
    end;
    begin
         ctx_ddl.create_preference('german_lexer','basic_lexer');
         ctx_ddl.create_preference('turkish_lexer','basic_lexer');
         ctx_ddl.create_preference('czech_lexer','basic_lexer');
         ctx_ddl.create_preference('global_lexer', 'multi_lexer');
    end;
    begin
         ctx_ddl.set_attribute('german_lexer','composite','german');
         ctx_ddl.set_attribute('german_lexer','mixed_case','no');
         ctx_ddl.set_attribute('german_lexer','alternate_spelling','german');
         ctx_ddl.set_attribute('german_lexer','base_letter','yes');
         ctx_ddl.set_attribute('german_lexer','base_letter_type','specific');
         ctx_ddl.set_attribute('german_lexer','printjoins','_');
         ctx_ddl.set_attribute('czech_lexer','mixed_case','no');
         ctx_ddl.set_attribute('czech_lexer','base_letter','yes');
         ctx_ddl.set_attribute('czech_lexer','base_letter_type','specific');
         ctx_ddl.set_attribute('czech_lexer','printjoins','_');
         ctx_ddl.set_attribute('turkish_lexer','mixed_case','no');

         ctx_ddl.set_attribute('turkish_lexer','base_letter_type','specific');
         ctx_ddl.set_attribute('turkish_lexer','printjoins','_');

         ctx_ddl.add_sub_lexer('global_lexer', 'czech',   'czech_lexer',   'CZH');
         ctx_ddl.add_sub_lexer('global_lexer', 'turkish', 'turkish_lexer', 'TRH');
    end;
    /2.) Create table and insert data
    drop table text_search;
    create table text_search (
         lang   varchar2(5)
       , name   varchar2(100)
    insert into text_search(lang, name) values ('DEH', 'Strauß');

    insert into text_search(lang, name) values ('CZH', 'Tomáš');
    insert into text_search(lang, name) values ('CZH', 'Černínová');
    commit;3.) The index creation now produces different results depending on the language settings:

    ----> How can these problems be avoided? What am I doing wrong?

    You need to change your base_letter_type from specific to generic. Also, if you are going to use both alternate_spelling and base_letter in your german_lexer, then you might want to set override_base_letter to true. Please see the run of your code below, with those changes applied. The special characters got mangled in my spool file, but hopefully you get the idea.

  • Issues with language/speech

    Hey, maybe Im being a little slow, but I was wondering if there was somewhere where i can set my font and font size for the whole computer. I know with some comps you can do that, but ive tried like 2-3 places in system pref and it still isnt working out.
    Also, is it possible that i can set the Mac to substitute certain words for others. Like if i wrote youre-->it would automatically set it to you're. Again, i have tried going to system preferences but i have not succeeded in this endeavor. I really hoe this option is avail to me, this thing cost too much to not have it. Thanks!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • *Stationed in Germany, bought iphone 4s issue with language

    I just recently bought the iphone 4s because that's the way to go to keep in touch back in the states for free. Going to the app store everything is in german, itunes on my computer now is in german.....so as may see that when i try and install and download apps it's all in german...Help please. I've already went to the general settings and changed the language to English but that hasn't done much of anything. My region has changed to U.S. thinking that might help. I'm out of options.
    Thank you

    Like I said, there is no good solution. Apple uses technology to determine your location & what iTunes store you can use. Some stores permit changing the language. Unfortunately, the German store is not one of them. Do you have a verified billing address in the states? If so, create another iTunes account, this time using the US store.

  • Issue with Full Screen & Input languages (Mavericks 10.9.1)

    I have two issues with the latest (Version 8.0.24308) Microsoft Remote Desktop from the Mac App store:
    1. If I tick the connection entry "Start session in fullscreen" option, after connect the desktop slips upwards like on the screenshot (below on the link)
    2. The default input method switches to Latvian after connect (never used Latvian anywhere...).
    On my Mac:
    - System language: Hungarian
    - Input language: Hungarian
    On the server:
    - System language: English
    - Input language: Hungarian (default) + English
    +: the app doesn't supports Retina display resolution :(
    Screen Shot link:
    db.tt/yYKN0arM

    Hi,
    1. The version 8.0.24308 offers updated functionality for full screen mode to users of OS X 10.7+:
    OS X native: The native full screen feature for the Mac OS X version.
    Custom: The custom full screen mode enables the multi-monitor feature in order to provide a better experience for users of Mac OS X versions 10.7 and 10.8.
    Important information for users of 10.9: if you have disabled "Displays have separate Spaces" in Mavericks
    (System Preferences > Mission Control) go to Preferences > Resolution in the Microsoft Remote Desktop client and configure the setting using the same option.
    Please try the OS X native mode and see how it works.
    2. The OS keyboard locale, is suggested to the remote PC. Therefore, please check the keyboard locale.
    Hope this helps.

    As suggested by Mihailo you can use the LM01 to see the screen on GUI or alternateively you can use the below steps to get the https screen
    Use T-code SICF (Enter the RF service name, your technical team will help to get this name)
    Step 2 Right click on the service and press Test Service
    Step 3 - The above step will open the RF screen in IE, enter the user id and password and nJOY

  • Issue with Chinese language in DI

    Hi all,
    My source is AS400 with CCSID=935, my target is Oracle with AL16UTF16. I migrate data from source (in Chinese language) to target by DI version 3.0. I used Client Access ODBC driver to connect to AS400.
    It run well. But data is not correct, it can't show in Web Intelligence report, they are only square symbol. It's just got issue with Chinese language, for English, it' fine.
    I also tried to set code page of source to shift_jis and target to utf8. But it still got the same result.
    I don't know anything I need to set. Please help me to fix this.
    Thanks so much,
    Anh

    Yes. I changed the datastore to default.
    I used both method: ODBC driver and IBM iseries access to connect to AS400. ODBC is the same in BODI. In universe, I used default, I can see data. But in BODI, I can't.
    My machine is BOE client software. But I created universe in my machine, export it. And then from my machine, I created WI report, also export to CMS. And then I view it in ViewInfo. Everything runs well for both connections.
    But in BODI, I use it to migrate data to Oracle. I can't see data in DataView of Designer too. Although, I changed locale, set codepage to default as you told, it didn't work.
    Any suggestions please.

  • Issues with russian language translation in ADF application

    While testing the Russian translations, we are running into an issue . Basically the contents for the Russian translation when accessed from application, look all malformed. Not sure if it is related to character set encoding/decoding issues. We have no issues with German and French language, so the question is, is there anything specific that needs to be taken care for Russian language ?
    Below is the source .properties file, which looks all Russian.
    OK=ОК
    CANCEL=Отмена
    NOTIFICATIONS=Уведомления
    INSTRUMENT_ALERTS=Предупреждающие знаки инструмента
    CONTRACTS_EXPIRING=Контракты с истекающим сроком

    ORDER_NUMBER=Номер задачи
    MODEL_NUMBER=Номер модели
    DESCRIPTION=Описание
    CONTRACT_NAME=Название контракта
    GINGER_ID_=идентификационный номер \:
    Below is what perforce (versioning system) merges for the above file. If we open this in notepad++ or microsoft word , set the encoding to Cyrillic (KOI8-R), it will show the Russian format as above.
    OK=ïë
    CANCEL=ïÔÍÅÎÁ
    NOTIFICATIONS=õ×ÅÄÏÍÌÅÎÉÑ
    INSTRUMENT_ALERTS=ðÒÅÄÕÐÒÅÖÄÁÀÝÉÅ ÚÎÁËÉ ÉÎÓÔÒÕÍÅÎÔÁ

    And,our portal application ends up showing what is merged in(that is malformed text as opposed to properly decoded russian text) . Looks like while creating the ear file jdeveloper just picks up the encoded characters and does not actually convert it into russian text. We have set our environment to UTF8, and the browser encoding includes the Cyrillic (KOI8-R).
    Any pointers will greatly help.

    Hi,
    It seems the property files are stored somehow with wrong characterset (not UTF-8)
    Have you checked for german umlaut (like ä,ü,ö,...) in your german property files too? Are they ok?
    We had similar issues with the german language a long time ago and as far I can remember it was the encoding setting in jdev preferences:
    Tools --> preferences --> environment --> Encoding should be "UTF-8"
    Project properties --> compiler--> Character Encoding should be "UTF-8"
    If you have to change this setting then you have to edit and save the russian property file again.
    As mentioned in the other post you can use native2ascii (http://docs.oracle.com/javase/1.4.2/docs/tooldocs/windows/native2ascii.html)
    at the command line to verify the encoding faster than deploying and run the application.
    native2ascii is used also when you build your project in Jdeveloper to convert all the property files.
    regards
    Peter

  • Issues with vietnamese language

    Hi ,
    I need help in locating the right font , NLS_LANG , database charactersets for a Vietnamese based forms application.
    I am having issues with VIETNAMESE_VIETNAM.VN8MSWIN1258 because some of the words are not coming properly in the forms . For example , the word mười when typed in the text box is getting displayed as m??i.
    some of my system configurations are given below
    oracle database server : Oracle9i Release 9.2.0.1.0 - Production
    Forms version : 6.0.8.25.2
    Database characterset : VN8MSWIN1258
    NLS_LANG : VIETNAMESE_VIETNAM.VN8MSWIN1258
    Font in the text item : Courier New
    Thanks in advance
    SJ

    VN8MSWIN1258 is formally a single-byte character set. But many Vietnamese characters are composed from a base character followed by one or more combining accent charaters. If you blindly use SUBSTR on such strings, you may cut off some accents. There is no easy solution for SUBSTR in Forms 6i running in Vietnamese.
    The problem with pasting seems to be the result of simplified conversion from Unicode (coming from Word) to ANSI (required by Forms). This conversion assumes that one Unicode character code corresponds to one ANSI character code. This is not true for the string that you gave as an example. This string contains four Unicode characters:
    U+006D LATIN SMALL LETTER M
    U+01B0 LATIN SMALL LETTER U WITH HORN
    U+1EDD LATIN SMALL LETTER O WITH HORN AND GRAVE
    U+0069 LATIN SMALL LETTER I
    "m" and "i" can obviously be converted to VN8MSWIN1258 as 0x6d and 0x69.
    'Latin small letter u with horn' can also be converted to 0xfd. But there is no precomposed 'latin small letter o with horn and grave' in Cp1258. This ANSI code page encodes the character as 0xf5 (U+01A1 LATIN SMALL LETTER O WITH HORN) followed by 0xcc (U+0300 COMBINING GRAVE ACCENT). The conversion performed by paste operation cannot handle this. The solution here is not to paste from Word. You have to use some other source.

  • Issues with my connection when gaming (Insurgency)

    Hello,
    I just bought the MSI GT72 2QE. I am very pleased with de specs like the Geforce GTX 980m and the i4710hq but there is an issue that is bothering me some days now. When i am playing my beloved game Insurgency, i get ping spikes all the time. So i followed up some instruction on uninstalling the Killer software suite and just installing the drivers when i encountered the next problem. My Killer Wireless-n/a/ac 1525 Wireless Network Adapter couldn't find the drivers in the 'drivers only' package. But i did my best to find other drivers and accomplished after 5 hours full of frustration. So that is done but still doesn't solve my problem.
    I don't know what to do anymore and I'm starting to think that maybe my Killer Wireless-n/a/ac 1525 Wireless Network Adapter is the issue. Maybe this is a hardware issue. I contacted the store where i bought it and they will contact me in 48 hours with a possible solution but the guy said that after all my effort it seems like a hardware issue indeed. You guys are my last hope or my laptop will be gone for 3 weeks at the factory.
    Video of ping:
    nl.tinypic.com/r/ztisd1/8
    I hope someone has the solution.
    Excuse me for my incorrect English, it's not my native language.
    Bye!

    Thanks for your reply.
    I'm glad (and I'm not glad for the others..) that I'm not the only one. But it's not because there are more devices connected to my router because I am the only one now and I'm still having this problem while my other laptop doesn't have any problems at all. I've tried everything so far now. Resetting my router, restarting my router, reinstalled windows, reinstalled drivers, got rid of the software suite, turned off firewalls, virusscanners etc. Everything.
    I thought it was only with Insurgency but it's also bugging me with Battlefield 4.
    So i have tried and done everything i could find on every forum on the internet. Still I don't get the download/upload/connection I am used to when using wireless. When i am in my room, which is 10m away from the wireless router, my download speed is max 1200 kb/s where I would easily get 2300 kb/s. Also when playing online games I am having big issues with my latency/ping. It goes from 60 to 200 to 400 and back every 15/20 seconds. I also own a Asus laptop and I don't have any issues at all with the wireless connection. When I am in my room there are no problems at all. I am starting to think that the Killer Wireless adapter is just a f*cked up thing. I bought a laptop (GT72 with 980m) for €2300 but I am having all these issues with the connection. It makes me really frustrated.
    Longer vid of ingame netgraph:
    nl.tinypic.com/r/97mjae/8
    I am hoping that there is something that solves my issues. I'm starting to think that another wireless network adapter from another brand is the only option. Is there an option to change the wireless network adapter on my laptop because I will if I can. This piece of sh*t needs to be replaced.
    Bye
