Issues With Printer Using drv:///sample.drv/generic.ppd from Command Line

Hi All,
I was using generic postscript driver earlier with Mountain Lion. I Created a print queue using "lpadmin -p MYPrintQueue -m drv:///sample.drv/generic.ppd -v socket://<IP>:9100 -E"
This created a print queue with Generic Postscript Driver.
Now when i am trying same command with Mavericks, It's Creating a Local Raw Printer. Can anyone tell me where i am going wrong.
I need command line resolution only.
I know i can create print queue from cups web interface. There its working fine.
But i need to use command line only.
Thanks.

Hi,
Would you please try following commands?
Please don't add quotes on the inf file path: change the driver folder name NC Print Drivers as NCPrintDrivers.
rundll32 printui.dll PrintUIEntry /if /f C:\Temp\NCPrintDrivers\dellopd_A06\dellopd.inf /r "192.168.10.157"
Make sure to run the command as admin.
Let me know if it can work fine.

  • I am having issues with printing using Adobe Reader

I am currently using adobe reader and have not been able to print with my HP DeskJet 3050, I have both reinstalled my drivers and Reader, yet they both will not work.  Every time I click print it brings up the printing options screen, from there I have tried the following:  I have tried printing the document as an image, changing the language to see if the printer itself could not handle the printing language and I have also tried to save the document as a preprint and printing it from there yet it is still not working.  Here are all of the notes from Reader showing the build and features:

  • Acrobat 9 Pro issues with printing and now updating  !!! :(

    hello
I had an issues with printing from my gmail account or from windows live mail
    so I made a complete re-installation
now I am stuck with version 9.3.0 and when I check for updates I get a message
    UPDATER IS ALREADY RUNNING
only... it's not running and nothing is updating !
I made a restart... just in case... it did not change anything
as to the printing issue, in case some of you have met it and cleared it...(hope)
    this was with version 9.5.0
I get no error message but no pdf is created, only a text document with this :
    %%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
    %%[Page: 1]%%

not a good start for my week... I hope yours is nicer
    I'm running Win7 Ultimate x64

    thanks Mylenium
the font association problem is something recent though, since I used acrobat to print mails directly from my gmail account previously...
it's galling but I installed a free pdf printer which does the job, I needed copies of these mails urgently !
as to the update issue, I see no aum.exe, msiexec.exe or setup.exe running... but that's quite above my head... do I look for those exact processes or are they generic names for processes ?
does my question make sense ????

  • Issue with printing to a network photocopier

We are a small school where the teachers all have Macbook Pro laptops. For a while we have been having intermittent issues with printing to the Photocopier, today is an example.
Teacher tried to print, worked fine, then tried again 15 min later, received message Printer is in use (I was standing next to it and it wasn't in use!) tried again 10 min later, printed fine.
Teacher tried to print, spooled for about 5 min then printed, tried again, printed fine.
From the CUPS error log there are the following:
    - The Printer is in use
    - ICC Profile "/Library/Printers/Sharp/Profiles/SS0HIN0.icc" does not exist.
    - Remote host did not accept data file(32)
    - The printer did not respond
    - Stopping unresponsive job
    - The printer is not responding
They are all on wireless. There is no network issue as I can ping the photocopier, get onto the Internet etc.
They don't print via a server, they all have the photocopier installed on their macbooks as an IP printer using LDP.
    Thanks

You'll need to manually create the folder and install the profiles. From the finder select Go, Go to Folder. Enter "/Library/Printers/Sharp/Profiles" without the quotation marks, Go. You might have to manually create the Profile folder. You can download this disk image from Sharp that contains the icc files here; http://www.sharpusa.com/ForBusiness/DocumentSystems/MFPsPrinters/MX4110N.aspx?vi ew=drivers
Drag and drop the icc files from /MX-C26/Profiles to /Library/Printers/Sharp/Profiles
Also make sure you install the drivers from MX-C26 for the appropriate version of OS X you are running.
    Hope this is clear.

  • Issue with printing of Currency Value.

    Hi,
I have an issue with printing of Currency Value.
( Pleae let me know if any thread available already  I searched it before posting but not found).
    The Problem is as follows:
I have a field  s_value TYPE  MARM-SALK3.  (which is of currency type).
The value of field is actually 1664.1450.   Currency USD
But when I print this variable in ALV report it prints as  166414.50  though I used the same data type. (SALK3).
Pleaes help me to fix this.
    Regards,
    Venkat

    Hi,
If you use ALV to display currency value, you must sure that currency amount links with currency unit. You can archive this by using ALV fieldcat:
    wa_fieldcat-fieldname = 'SALK3'.
    wa_fieldcat-tabname = 'ITAB'.
    wa_fieldcat-cfieldname = 'WAERS'.
    wa_fieldcat-ctabname = 'ITAB'.
    append wa_fieldcat to gt_fieldcat.
    Please check,
    Regards,

  • Issues with printing purchase order

    Dear friends,
I'm having some issues with printing purchase orders.
Normally when I create a purchase order via ME21N and then when I save the purchase order it then gets automatically printed.
Suddenly it is not anymore working. I have created a purchase order this morning and it did not get printed. I get the message "frontend is not available"when i check the spool in SP01
The funny think is if i call up the spool nr via SP01and then do a reprint then i'm able to reprint.
What can be possibly the issue that I can't print the purchase order when I create the purchase order via ME21 when I save the purchase order? Can you help me with any guide on where I need to check why the PO is not printing immediatelly when i create the PO via ME21N?
    kind regards,
    Camilla

    hello all,
thanks so far for your reply.
i have checked today my user settings and that shows that my prints should go to LOCL (local default printer)
The output conditions fpr purchase order have also LOCL (local printer)
The weird thing is that I can print other reports to the default printer without any issues. The issue arise when I create a purchase order via ME21N. Normally when I save the PO it automatically prints. So no manual print instructions are required from my side. Because if I give manual instructions then I'm able to print the purchase order.
Is it possible that the automatic printing is switched off and that it only prints when I hit manually the print button?
Is the automatic printing something that is maintained in SPAD?
kind regards and thanks for your help sofar

  • Issue with printing production order after changes through CO02

    Hi,
Currently I have one issue with printing production order changes through CO02. If I go for print, all the operations are captured in printout. But after the print, if I add any new operations to this production order, and then go for print, its not capturing the newly added operations. Also, there is information popup coming "Copies will be printed for order. Original list already printed". This message effectively means, even after changes, when I go for print functionality, its just going for printing copies of original printed list.
Can anyone help me out to get the newly added operations reflected in the print through CO02 ?

    Hi Forte Users,
We are trying to merge and print forms using FORTE-DDE- Ms Word connectivity
and would like to know if any of you have had any experience in doing this. We
will be printing both from the client as well as from a batch operation.
What we essentially want to be doing is to be able to return a status from
Word to FORTE if any operation failed within MS Word, such as printer not
online, paper jam or out-of-paper, etc. Any other experiences or
problem/pitfalls would be appreciated as well.

The CP1525 does allow you to print envelopes. There are two trays that can be used. I will describe only using the lower tray. Normally this tray is used for standard paper.  To use it for letter envelopes, you need to pull out the tray and then make some changes. Take out all of the paper. There are blue-colored paper supporters. Two are used for the width of regular papers. Slide it toward the center so that it will handle the envelope with the top toward the left side. Put the envelope in with the printable side up and the top towards the left side. Slide the blue paper holders so they touch the top and bottom. Then push the envelope all the way toward the back and then move the single blue paper holder at the front so that it is against the envelope. You are ready to print as far as the printer.
I have to select properties for the printer. I indicate that I am printing an envelope. I also had to indicate landscape. I also had to move the print areas to fit where I want them to be. Then I added my address and the address to where they are going. I am not sure that I got everything but this should work well.
I did not do this, but you can use both trays with one that holds a number of pages and the other for a number of envelopes.

  • Error while running a Discoverer Workbook with parameter from command line

I am trying to run a discoverer report from command line and export the results in xls on to my local machine. I could do it fine for a simple workbook, but if I add a parameter(madatory) to the workbook and run it from command line specifying the parameter value I wanted to run the report for, I do not get any results. Here is the command line I am using.
    dis51usr.exe /connect user/password@database /apps_user /apps_responsibility "System Administrator" /eul EUL_US /open C:\Disco\Test.DIS /sheet Testsheet /parameter Period Jan-07 /export xls C:\Disco\X.xls /batch
Parameter value is entered in correct format(Jan-07).
When I removed /batch from this to see if I get any error, Discoverer Desktop opened up, logged in and gets terminated saying 'Oracle Discoverer Desktop has encountered a problem and need to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
Did anybody come across this issue before?

    Hello,
If you have a few minutes, Windows is also aborting for me:
the differences are, my situation is:
    a) am running the command line from a .bat file
    b) am NOT running with parms, want the discoverer query to come up for the user
    c) am running a query from the database
i am signing in as myself BUT running a query that was created by a generic user called SREG
    c) if i run the .bat file from Windows Explorer, the query opens fine
    d) if i execute the .bat file from within Microsoft Access using the shell command,
the query opens and then aborts RIGHT BEFORE the parm screen would display
    e) btw, if i modify the .bat file, to run a query from MY database signon, then (d) - running .bat file
from vb using SHELL command works
Do you have a ideas as to why (d) does not work? I would be very grateful for your time, tx, sandra
this is what i posted yesterday, tx: Re: Running Discoverer command line

  • Unable to build and run Javapetstore using  Sun SDK from Command Line

    Hi,
Here is a problem I?ve come across building and running JavaPetstore from Command Line using Ant.
It shows that Build is successful but there is an error message in very beginning:
?Unable to locate tools. jar. Expected to find it in C:\Program Files\Java\jre 1.5.0_11\lib\tools.jar?
But there is no such a file in jre-1.5.0_11 or previous versions.
The only place where the file with such name can be found is jdk\lib.
All attempts to run end up with:
    ? BUILD FAILED.
C:\<PETSTORE_HOME>\bp-project\command-line-ant-task.xml:77;unable to find javac compiler;com.sun.tools.javac.Main is not on the class path.
Perhaps JAVA_HOME does not point to JDK."
Directories C:\Sun\SDK\bin and C:\Sun\SDK\jdk are in the PATH.
JAVA_HOME as a System variable is set up to C:\Sun\SDK\jdk.
Building and running other applications like a BluePrints or Samples bring to same result.
I will post more information if needed.
Thank you in advance for help.

If you are using Windows XP:
    1. Right click on my computer
    2. Select Properties from the popup dialog
    3. Click on the "Advanced" tab
    4. Click the button towards the bottom that says "Environment Variables"
    5. In the dialog that pops up, look in both the User variables and the System variables for a variable named CLASSPATH
    6. If its not there, you need to create it. If you want to make it available to all users of your computer, create it as a System variable. If you only want it to be available to the current user, add it as a User variable.
    7. If it is there, or if you just created it, it needs to contain the following values: the current directory (symbolically abbreviated as a period: "."), any class libraries you want to be available to the java compiler (javac) or the java interpreter (java). By default, jre/lib and jre/lib/ext are searched for classes, so you don't need to include anything located in one of these folders on the classpath.

    Regards,
    Ramanan

    Hello Ramanan,
Report Builder : connect JDBC Query in Report Builder is to through Connection Dialog in JDBC Query Editor. User can use a Sign on parameter (can use, default : P_JDBCPDS or can create new) to connect to JDBC Data Source. Connection once made will be mentioned and will be reused through out Reports Builder.
JDBC PDS allows user to connect one or more same or different kind of databases.
While running report through runtime or Server, user can pass the sign on parameter(connection string) value, like any other user parameter.
Syntax for connection string : <username>/<password>@databaseURL . The syntax of database part of connection string depend on the type of JDBC Driver used to connect to Data Source while designing the JDBC Query. databaseURL refer to the location of the database and its format depend on the JDBCPDS river selected in design time while creating the JDBC Query.
    rwrun eg :
    rwrun report=jdbc_odbc.rdf destype=file desname=output.html desformat=html P_JDBCPDS=scott/tiger@database
    Server eg :
    http://server.com:8888/servlet/RWServlet?server=MyReportServer+report=jdbc_odbc.rdf+destype=cache+desformat=html+P_JDBCPDS=scott/tiger@database

  • Using ME57 to create an RFQ from multiple lines on multiple PRs

When using ME57 to create RFQs how can I select multiple line items from multiple purchase requisitions to turn into a single RFQ. If I select multiple lines and then use 'RFQ with Vendor', it only selects one line item.  After further research it appears that you can only create only line at a time (very time consuming).
If you use ME41 and create with reference to PR then you can not sort or filter columns to allow for easy consolidation.
Another forum recommended the following when using ME57 which works but it again adds extra steps to the process.
The whole process is as follows -
         1) When you are in the 'Assign and Process Purchase Requisition' screen, select related PR and then click on 'Without Vendor' icon to flag all PRs for RFQ processing.
         2) Select these PRs again and click further on 'Assignment Overview' icon (Shift and F5). The next screen will appear - Assign and Process requisitions - Overview of Assignments screen.
         3) Select the 'PReq' column and then click further on 'Process Assignment' icon (F2). The next screen will appear where you have to maintain the 'quotation deadline' information.
         4) Then click on 'Continue' icon (enter).
So is there any way to either 1) enable sorting of data in ME41 or 2) use ME57 to create one RFQ from multiple line items of multiple purchase requisitions when selecting 'RFQ with Vendor'.

What is the JPEG specs? What are the specs of the project you're working in?

  • Problem with tokenized  input from command line

I am trying to take an input from the command line, parse it to tokens and perform whatever operation is needed depending on the name of the token, on a binary tree of stacks for example, if i type 1 2 1 3 printLevelOrder, then the root of the tree should have 3, 2,1 in the stack, the left child should have 1 and the right child should be empty. and then a level order print of the tree should be performed.
however what is happening when i run this code is the numbers are being put into the right stacks of the tree, but any commands such as printLevelOrder or PrintPopRoot are entering the code that is for placing numbers onto the stack instead of executing that command and skipping past this piece of code.
so my question is, why is the if statement if (word =="printLevelOrder") not being executed when thats whats in the word ?
example input and output shown below code fragment.
              try {
                  BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
                 String line = "";
                 while (line != "***") {

                      StringTokenizer tokenizer = new StringTokenizer(line," ");
