Issues with scan import

On an old PC I had CS4 installed and 2 scanners connected, when imported images via scaner i was able to keep the scan window open to easily scan more pictures after finishing working on the first image. When I installed CS5 on a new computer the scan windows locks CS5 unil i close the window.
How do i resolve this?
// Fredrik

Are you using the same scanner? Have you installed the same driver? If you use a different scanner or different drivers/operating system, the behaviour of the Scan Import will vary...

  • Issue with Contract Import

    Hello Folks,
I am facing an issue with Contract Import. The contract import file has been struck in Contract Document importer and from past 4 days the status is showing as Running. Even in trace file, it is showing as "Mon Mar 16 18:05:51 CET 2015          Error during action"
Is there any way where the import can be stopped or deleted?
    Any help is highly appreciated!!!
    Thanks in Advance!
    Regards,
    Vignesh

Thanks John and Peter for your support. Unfortunately I cannot provide a screenshot of the issue since of the confidential material and has to re-do the work. I have re-done all the excel correction and re-created the Indesign merge document on a PC laptop. So far 'no' problems. I have a strong suspicion that the cause has been a macro used in excel to convert text or another one that I used to add values to the colum that InDesign found issue. Definetly InDesign should have reported a problem before merging the data. Yes, I am using CS5.5 with the latest update and Excel 2010 on a Mac. Still, I would like to find out what means the letter 'A' in the Data Merge Panel, since this may have directed me to find why the multiple 'AAA...' shown in the first line in the merge panel. Again thanks John and Peter: much appreciated.

  • Bulk API issue with contact imports

Is the bulk API having validation issues? I can update any existing or create any new imports.
Simply posting the content below from the tutorial now results in a validation error:
    "name": "Docs Import Example",

    Here is the error:
    "failures":[{"field":"identifierFieldName","constraint":"Must be a string value, at least 1 character and at most 100 characters long."},{"field":"name","constraint":"Must be a string value, at least 1 character and at most 100 characters long."},{"field":"fields","constraint":"Is required."}]}

Seems like an issue with UD_ADUSER_LOCKED field value. Change it to non null value and retry.

  • Issue with ProRes importing into Premiere CC in Windows

    Hey all,
I realize the futility of using ProRes in a Windows environment, so I figured I'd just get that out of the way right off the bat.  This is how I received the footage from the client and it's too much to try and convert into another codec (though if I must, I will, I'd just like to avoid it).  Even so, I didn't really have an issue with this until I tried to work in CC.
I started this project in Premiere CS5 and was having no issues.  I received some AE files in CC and decided I'd bite the bullet and move to the latest and greatest rather than try and rebuild the projects in CS5.  I download, install, update, open up Premiere to rebuild the short edit, and then find that when I import ProRes files, all I get is audio, no video.  I can import other codecs just fine, it's just ProRes that's refusing.
I've made sure Quicktime and the Windows QT Decoder for ProRes are updated, as well as Premiere CC.  I've currently got all my work files bundled up on a drive to take to my 9 to 5 and work on a Mac on my lunch break, but for obvious reasons, I'd like to be able to work at home.
This client doesn't provide enough work to warrant a new Mac purchase, and I'm just at wit's end.  It worked fine in CS5, why not in CC?
    Here's my specs:
    Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
    Premiere Pro CC 7.0.1
    Quicktime (fully updated)
Quicktime ProRes Decoder for Windows (fully updated)
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Have you seen the WARNING here: Balanced Systems.
The warning about Quicktime makes sense.  I was aware that Quicktime 7 has never been updated to 64-bit, but the obvious 4GB RAM limitation had never occured to me.  Makes sense. I have a very decent machine, yet all of my Canon DSLR and GoPro projects are more cumbersome to edit than even AVCHD files.  I've spent a little time thinking it over and running some side-by-side tests.  MOV vs. AVI (same video) Editing, scrubbing, playback—all while running Task Manager on top.  But I didn't need task manager to tell me that the AVI plays back, layers and layers, smooth as butter.  The .MOV footage struggled to keep up with my random access cuts to different locations within the same video file.

most sane PC users would NEVER install QuickTime...
So now I'm fascinated.  So many questions:  Why do so many cameras create .MOV or .MP4 files that require QuickTime components?  64-bit QuickTime X has aparently been available on the Mac for quite a while, yet I presume they won't allow anyone else to develop a 64-bit codec for Windows, so why hasn't someone sued Apple for monopoly, anti-trust, conflict-of-interest, etc?  And most importantly, how would a sane PC user go about editing MOV and MP4 files without going insane transcoding hours of footage?

  • Heat issues with video import

Ive had my Macbook pro for about 3 weeks now and as far as I can tell its getting hotter (idont know how to find the exact temp but I know hot and my Macbook is!)
The heat has not been an issue until recently. And then when I was using the machine last night to import some video from a mimiDV camera and the heat was simply unacceptable the vent under the screen was so hot it was almost untoucable and also the hard drive was throwing out heat.
Now Im not sure if this has anything to do with the 7200rpm HDD I have installed in the machine but I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with video importing.

It has nothing to do with video editing per se. It has everything to do with heat generated from constant hard drive activity and higher CPU utilization. Check temps with CoreDuoTemp both under load and also idle.
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/29854
You can simulate loads also to get various temp readings.
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/24941
You can check your hard drive temp with Temperature Monitor.
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19994
In fact if you start CoreDuoTemp first, shut it off, then run CoreDuoTemp you can see both your CPU and Harddrive temps in your dock or menubar with Temperature Monitor.

  • Captivate 5 - issue with editing imported PowerPoints that have been resized

I'm having an issue with editing PowerPoint files that have been imported into Captivate 5 when they have been resized within the Captivate project after the initial import.
    1. I import a PowerPoint presentation into 800x600 dimension.
    2. I resize the project to 900x600 by not locking the aspect ratio and selecting to position to the top right so there is a 100 pixel strip to the left of the slide that we use for navigation buttons and other info.
    3. If I need to make a change to a PowerPoint, I select Edit > Edit with Microsoft PowerPoint > Edit Slide (or Edit Presentation).
    4. The slide opens in PowerPoint and I make the changes and click Save.
    5. When the slide is imported back into Captivate, it is stretched and resized to not fit either 800x600 or 900x600, but something in between. This did not happen in Captivate 4 - the slide would retain the 800x600 dimension slid over to the right with no issues.
Are there any settings that can be done to ensure the edited slides will import back into the project with the correctly sized dimensions for the current project?

    Hi there
I agree that it would be nice to see a notification. You know, Captivate offers a special area for notifications that appear when you open it. I'm stymied as to why Adobe doesn't use this area for making such announcements.

  • Issues with Export/Import using Database & Shared buffer

    Hi All,
I have a method that calls a program via a job and I am having issues passing data between the two.
Note that two different users process the method and program (via job) resp. This is how I am calling the second prog-
    SUBMIT ZPROGRAM
                 VIA JOB     l_jobname
                     NUMBER  l_jobcount
                     USER    i_user
                 AND RETURN.
I need to pass data from method to  the second program and vice versa and then the method continues its processing with the data acquired from the second program.
I have tried using Import/Export using database and also shared buffer. What I have found is that most of the times I am able to pass data from method to program. However the job takes a couple of min to execute and I think that the data is not making back to the method in time.
I have looked at some useful forum links-
Problem with export/import in back ground
    Re: EXPORT/IMPORT  to MEMORY
but havent been able to find an answer yet. Any solution? Thanks in advance for your help!
    Liz

    Hi Suhas, Subhankar
I have tested the scenario without the job previously itself and it works. Thats the reason, i am trying with the job now as my requirement is that I need to change the user while executing the second report.
Here is an example of my import/export - I am passing the return value from the second report to the first.
    Code in second report-
DATA: INDXKEY LIKE INDX-SRTFD VALUE 'RET1'.
    INDX-AEDAT = SY-DATUM.
    INDX-USERA = SY-UNAME.
EXPORT RETURN1 TO SHARED BUFFER INDX(ST) ID INDXKEY.
    Code in first report -
    SUBMIT ZPROGRAM
                     VIA JOB     l_jobname
                         NUMBER  l_jobcount
                         USER    i_user
                     AND RETURN.
Once Job close FM is executed successfully, I import the values as follows
IMPORT RETURN1 TO RETURN1 FROM SHARED BUFFER INDX(ST) ID INDXKEY3.
    INDXKEY is having value RET1.
However Return1 is not having any values in first report. It has some value in executed without the job
Please note that I have tried Export/import with Database too and I am getting the same results.
    Thanks for your suggestions.
    Regards, Liz

  • Issue with Scanning Files...

So I have a program that scans a file and does a bunch of stuff with it...I won't go into details too much, as it's not relevant.
Basically, if the file didn't exist, it would return an error message. If the file existed, but the input inside the file wasn't formatted properly, it would return a different error message for each possible issue. I've done all that. But now I have a file that I know is in the workspace, properly formatted, but when i call it in the console, it claims I have an invalid file name. That is, the error that I get if the file doesn't exist. I think it's an issue buried deep into my code, and it's driving me crazy.

I saw one guy fish through his core dump for 2+ weeks to verify exactly what one of the student consultants told him after looking at his code for 30 seconds: he refused to beleive that was the problem, would not ever consider it to try and then changed labs after he found it was just that simple.Amen to that.
IMHO, there should be two default units in any CS degree- Problem Solving 101 and How To Debug 101. Not only would it solve half the problems on here (and in life) before they come up, it makes you less dependent on any one language.
I'm the first to admit that I have been guilty of, and will probably be guilty of in the future, bad debugging and/or problem solving practices. • Issue with the import of hyperlinks from FM to Robohelp

    Hi,
I am trying to produce online help (WebHelp) using RoboHelp 9 based on FrameMaker files (FM8). Previously I was working with WebWorks ePublisher (which was way easier to use since there wasn't much to customize...). I'm linking (not importing) the book to the RH project.
Now I'm having trouble with the following points:
    1. Table of contents: the TOC imported from FM to RH does not work properly, some sections should be converted into a book, but are ignored by RH, so I had to create a TOC manually. If everyone know where this can come from, please help me . Of course, I checked the styles, and the TOC in FM perfectly reflects the title levels...
    2. Hypertext links: this is the biggest issue. I have around 3000 pages, so I can't recreate each hyperlink manually.. In FM, I use the "Hypertext" marker and then I put "openlink myfile.fm:firstpage", which works perfectly fine in the PDF output. However, in RH, the marker is totally ignored, and there is no hyperlink in the output file. I checked the source code of the htm file, but there is absolutely nothing that suggests a link (no <a href="...">).
I tried to update the project, and tried other markers like URL myfile.fm, but it did change anything...
Also, I tried generating the online help directly using FM10 (trial version of the TCS, until I can confirm that it is worth it), but the TOC in the online help didn't correspond to the one in FM, so I gave up and used RH to create the TOC manually...
Thanks in advance for your help.
PS.: I'm not a native English speaker, so sorry if the language is a little messy...

    Hi,
    Thanks for your answers.
I tried generating the help using FM10 then File > Publish, but the TOC and the hyperlinks aren't working any better. I also tried converting the book into FM10 format, then linking it to a RH9 project, but the results were the same.
The titles which are ignored in RH have the same styles as the titles which are not ignored, only their names are different, and the ignored titles are numbered.
Also, these titles corresponds to a file in FM (which contains a small chapter TOC), and the file is totally ignored as well.
Does anyone create links between files of a same book? I also tried using FM10 then RH9, but the results are the same as well
    Thanks in advance.

  • Issue with Export / Import Configuration Data in AC 5.3 migration to AC 10

    Hi,
We are migrating from AC 5.3 to AC 10. As per the Migration Guide I have exported the data from AC 5.3.
The export created around 57 files on the destination with .dat extension.
Moved these files to target server Import location.
Then I have used the utility (GRAC_DATA_MIGRATION) in AC 10. Selected the Import location. and clicked Get Files.
It has uploaded some files (21 out of 57).
When I analyzed the uploaded files, I found it has uploaded only "Common Configuration" data. For the below Objects, though the export utility has created files, Import utility did not uploaded the files.
    1. Business Unit
    2. Critical Roles and Profiles
    3. CUP Role Repository
    4. Mitigation Controls
    5. SOD Rules
    6. Workflow
Does anyone have any idea about this issue?
    Regards,
    Deepak

    Deepak,
Can you share with me how you are importing the config data? How you are using the path? Please share this and also try toshare how you systems are distributed.

  • Issues with scan to email

Recently, the email/file server was upgraded to OS X 10.9.1. Since performing this upgrade, 3 of the 4 RICOH MFPs have not been able to scan to email. The SMTP Log shows this error for the non-functioning MFPs: Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname
I attempted to add a Machine Name entry into the DNS for this device, but it made no difference. The thing that is really aggravating about this is that the newest model we have works with no issue.
    Models:
Aficio 3045               not scanning to email
2x Aficio MP 4500   not scanning to email
    MP C4502                 scanning to email
I would be greatful for any ideas the community might have.

Figured this out. I had to specify the domain name in the MFP settings, rather than allow it to gather from the DHCP.

  • Issue with DTW import of BP bank details

    Dear Experts,
While trying to update IBAN & Swift Code for existing bank details in BP Master using DTW, below error appears :-
Enter Valid Code (OCRB.BankCode) [?????173-36] Application defined or object defined error65171
I have checked the Bank code & it is correct.
Another question is if there are more than 1 entry in OCRB template, & a particular entry is to be update, linenum is required but there is no field named linenum available in OCRB table to determine which line in table is to be updated. But in DTW sample template for OCRB, linenum field is shown. Please advise from where to get this value or how to determine which line to be updated.
Another issue is that even if there is a single line in DTW template it takes 10-15 min for DTW to show the results. DTW hangs for this period.
I have tried to update the entry manually in BP master data to validate the IBAN number & it happened successfully.
I checked the import in a test environment & there as well I faced the same issue. Tested the issue on 8.82 PL12 & 14 with same results.
    Please advise.

  • Anyone having issues with large Import from Catalog w/ LR 5.3?

I'm trying to consolidate into a single master LR catalog from several different machines, and keep having one of the three Import from Catalog operations I need to do fail.
I've had LR 5.3 fail to do a large (5000+) item Import from Catalog twice now - and fail in exactly the same place (after importing 2000 items) but with differences in the error output.
First time I got a message about the video items - fine, pulled those out of the export. DId so, started up again, failed after 2000 items again, but this time after clicking Cancel (with a half-stuck progress bar after running overnight) no error message was displayed.
Since I can't find Release Notes or a list of known issues (or where to open a defect report), I'm posting here. Anyone from Adobe out there?

  • Issue with re-importing images after using Nik plugins

Currently, when images are edited in a Nik plug-in and saved back to Aperture, the project folder the image originated in is changed from being organized by "date" to "manual" and then that image is inserted as the first image in that folder. In past versions of Aperture, the image would be placed back into the project folder by date. At the very least I would like to have the control on where that image is placed. And my selection of how that project folder is organized should NEVER change unless asked.
Is there some hidden setting that can change this behavior?
    Ken

Unfortunately, this issue was with some of the last versions of Snow Leopard as well. Oh, and for clarification, this happens with HDR efex. Others have commented that the Nik plugin is designed to work this way. Maybe, but I would like a choice where the image is returned. I believe it is a NIk issue but they won't admit it.
I did try your suggestion, but no luck. This image changed the project folder organization to "manual" and put the image first.

It sounds like the MDL has mappings and the dependent tables referenced by the mappings are not in that MDL...they may be in another one, you should import it first. If not, then export from a repository which has the tables.
