It won't let me share my movie. Nothing happens when I click "share" or even in the drop down menu. I don't get options. HELP! I need this video by tonight!

I have worked with iMoive a ton and have never had an issue. I consider myself pretty computer savvy. This new iMovie is not my friend. It will not let me share my new video. I click on the project and click "share" like it says but I don't receive any further prompt. It literally does nothing. I tried the drop down menu and I see the "share" with an arrow indicating there are options but no drop down menu appears. I need this video by tonight to submit for work. HELP!

I got it to share! No reloading iMovie!
I do not have Mackeeper on my laptop
I have the movie files on an external hard drive
1. Close out iMovie
2. Eject the external hard drive
3. Start up iMovie
4. Plug in the external hard drive
5. Go into finder and double click on the folder containing the movie
6. Select the movie as if to edit
7. Share it!
I hope this works for you too

My apple ID is associated with an old email I never use. My current email was set as my rescue email, so I could not make that my new Apple ID. I have changed my rescue email to another email address and verified it, but when I now try to update my apple ID it still says I cannot use that email address becuase it's my rescue email address, even though it is not. That usually means it's associated with another ID or used somewhere else.

My play lists and songs on iTunes and on my iPhone won't play.  They are light grey instead of black and nothing happens when I click on the songs.  All of the songs were either from CD's or from iTunes that I purchased. I have home sharing turned on. This is a new issue.  It used to work fine.  I tried restarting my iPhone and syncing with iTunes. Neither worked.  Please help!

Try delete those songs using iTunes by de-selecting and sync. After that mark those songs and sync again.

  • Drop Down Menu's Don't Close with Fast Mouse Movement

Hi, I am an extreme novice in Flash and I've built a drop down menu following a tutorial from YouTube - sadly this took me days! It functions BUT fast mouse movement away from the menu drop down seems to prevent the drop down menu from closing. Does anyone know of a fix for this?
Second question - I know how to create text links but when I do this the text's position jumps down without me having told it to. So is there a way to apply a link to a button rather than the text in the button, and is it possible to also apply a link to a movie clip?
    Thanks in advance.

  • When in yahoo mail I can't move mail into the drop down folders below HTheeninyaabout the 9th folder I the drop down menu.

To all, embarrassingly enough, I have discovered that I didn't know how to expand the three categories including 'Bookmarks Menu' in the 'Bookmark This Page' pop up interface. It was expanded by default on the initial Firefox opening and first page bookmark attempt. Next use it only showed categories. I clicked and double clicked the 'Bookmarks Menu' line, but failed to see the small, shaded triangle used to expand/collapse list. If it appears collapsed, just tap triangle at left of line to see all folders. It seems to open the same way after I do it for first time. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for all the attempts to help.

  • When I "Share" a movie nothing happens.  Any suggestions?

When I "Share" a movie ( 8.89 GB) to file, nothing happens and the Activity button simply says "file"  Any suggestions?  It's not froze or crashed, and I've waited for several hours thinking it was doing something in the background.  But I don't think so... any help would be greatly appreciated!

I wanted to share my experience with this same issue.
I was having the same problem.  However it seems that the Share option is working.
What the problem is the lack of notification of background tasks that iMovie provides.
If you go to the Theater view, look for the Blue Circle in the top right of the screen.
If it is there, click on it and a display banner will appear.
This information bar, shows what iMovie is doing in the background.  By default iMovie creates versions of each movie at different resolutions.  This is to accomodate the iCloud functionality of sharing the Theater movies with other Apple devices. This file conversion activity is done in sequence.  The Share will not start until all of this conversion activity is completed on all your movies or you stop it manually by clicking the x in the information bar that appears below the Blue Circle.
You can cancel all background activities, indicated by the Blue Circle not showing in the Theater view, and then try the Share function again.
Even a one minute movie in HD may take approximate 8-10 minutes to complete.  Once started the Blue Circle becomes the status for time to complete the Share function and if you click on it, the informaiton banner will indicate time to completion.

  • My imovie does not respond to my command from the drop down menu to import movies. What should I do?

I tried to import movies to my imovie, but when I select that option, nothing happens. I asked it to check for updates and it says that one is available, but when it sends me to the system updater thing, that thing tells me that I don't have any updates available at this time. ***?
    Thanks

The movie you are trying to import may not be compatible with iMovie, open the movie in Quicktime and check it's properties in the movie inspector.

Things You Can Do To Resolve Slow Downs
If your computer seems to be running slower here are some things you can do:
    Start with visits to:     OS X Maintenance - MacAttorney;
                                      The X Lab: The X-FAQs;
                                      The Safe Mac » Mac Performance Guide;
                                      The Safe Mac » The myth of the dirty Mac;
                                      Mac maintenance Quick Assist.
Boot into Safe Mode then repair your hard drive and permissions:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions Pre-Lion
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
    Repair the Hard Drive - Lion/Mountain Lion/Mavericks
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the Utilites Menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD disk icon and click on the arrow button below.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. If no errors are reported, then click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Restart your computer normally and see if this has helped any. Next do some maintenance:
For situations Disk Utility cannot handle the best third-party utility is Disk Warrior;  DW only fixes problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by directory corruption; Disk Warrior 4.x is now Intel Mac compatible.
Note: Alsoft ships DW on a bootable DVD that will startup Macs running Snow Leopard or earlier. It cannot start Macs that came with Lion or later pre-installed, however, DW will work on those models.
    Suggestions for OS X Maintenance
OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.) If this isn't the case, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep.  Dependence upon third-party utilities to run the periodic maintenance scripts was significantly reduced since Tiger.  These utilities have limited or no functionality with Snow Leopard or later and should not be installed.
OS X automatically defragments files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive.
    Helpful Links Regarding Malware Protection
An excellent link to read is Tom Reed's Mac Malware Guide.
Also, visit The XLab FAQs and read Detecting and avoiding malware and spyware.
    See these Apple articles:
Mac OS X Snow Leopard and malware detection
OS X Lion- Protect your Mac from malware
OS X Mountain Lion- Protect your Mac from malware
About file quarantine in OS X
If you require anti-virus protection I recommend using VirusBarrier Express 1.1.6 or Dr.Web Light both from the App Store. They're both free, and since they're from the App Store, they won't destabilize the system. (Thank you to Thomas Reed for these recommendations.)
    Troubleshooting Applications
I recommend downloading a utility such as TinkerTool System, OnyX, Mavericks Cache Cleaner, or Cocktail that you can use for removing old log files and archives, clearing caches, etc. Corrupted cache, log, or temporary files can cause application or OS X crashes as well as kernel panics.
If you have Snow Leopard or Leopard, then for similar repairs install the freeware utility Applejack.  If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the command line.  Note that AppleJack 1.5 is required for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard. Applejack does not work with Lion and later.
    Basic Backup
For some people Time Machine will be more than adequate. Time Machine is part of OS X. There are two components:
    1. A Time Machine preferences panel as part of System Preferences;
    2. A Time Machine application located in the Applications folder. It is
used to manage backups and to restore backups. Time Machine
requires a backup drive that is at least twice the capacity of the
        drive being backed up.
Alternatively, get an external drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
      1. Carbon Copy Cloner
      2. Get Backup
      3. Deja Vu
      4. SuperDuper!
      5. Synk Pro
      6. Tri-Backup
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on backup and restore.  Also read How to Back Up and Restore Your Files. For help with using Time Machine visit Pondini's Time Machine FAQ for help with all things Time Machine.
Referenced software can be found at MacUpdate.
    Additional Hints
Be sure you have an adequate amount of RAM installed for the number of applications you run concurrently. Be sure you leave a minimum of 10% of the hard drive's capacity as free space.
Add more RAM. If your computer has less than 2 GBs of RAM and you are using OS X Leopard or later, then you can do with more RAM. Snow Leopard and Lion work much better with 4 GBs of RAM than their system minimums. The more concurrent applications you tend to use the more RAM you should have.
Always maintain at least 15 GBs or 10% of your hard drive's capacity as free space, whichever is greater. OS X is frequently accessing your hard drive, so providing adequate free space will keep things from slowing down.
Check for applications that may be hogging the CPU:
    Pre-Mavericks
Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu.  Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order.  If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time (>=70,) then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar.  Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.
    Mavericks and later
Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select All Processes from the View menu.  Click on the CPU tab in the toolbar.
Often this problem occurs because of a corrupted cache or preferences file or an attempt to write to a corrupted log file.

  • HDMC restrictions won't let me watch a movie shared on my friend's iTunes computer, even though we are on the same network, and have home-sharing on.

Basically, my friend turned on home-sharing, I can see his movies, but when I try to watch one on my computer through iTunes, I get an HDMC restriction of some kind, and I am repeatedly ask to sign into my iTunes account to authorize my computer (which is already authorized). It isn't making any sense to me.
    (I am using OS X 10.8.4).

I have found with AppleTV that it is the IPV6 on the computer you want to access is the problem.  The issue is that Homegroup on Win 7 or Win 8 requires IPV6 to work, but AppleTV won't work with IPV6.  (So maybe double check you have IPV6 turned off)
So you have to make a choice - Homegroup or AppleTV.... but you can't have both, until Apple brings ATV up to date. (crazy that it does not recognise IPV6 - c'mon Apple!)
You can set up sharing individually in Win 7 or 8 and have the ATV access files that way.
Having said that, there is always the exception.. I have an old HP home server running Win8 and it services ATV - but is part of the Homegroup... have no idea why it works on both, but no other machine on the home network will talk to both ATV and Homegroup at the same time!

    Hi..
Try deleting the cache associated wtih Safari.
Quit Safari.   Command + Optin + Esc if necessary.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
    ~Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
    Click Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
    Try Safari.
And since you are running Lion v10.7, if you haven't disabled the Lion resume feature, that can help the Safari cache issue.
    Open System Preferences > General
Deselect:  Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
    Restart your Mac.

  • My cursor frequently stops working.  It still moves but nothing happens when I click with it.  Also, when I go for support Apple tells me my serial number does not exist but I am sure I am entering the correct one.

My arrow cursor changes unexpectedly to the "tall I" cursor and then I can't open links.
My two delete buttons only work one letter/number at a time.
When I go for Apple support it says my serial number does not exist?  But I know it is correct!

If you think getting your web pages to appear OK in all the major browsers is tricky then dealing with email clients is way worse. There are so many of them.
If you want to bulk email yourself, there are apps for it and their templates will work in most cases...

This one will create the form, database and send out the emails...

The alternative is to use a marketing service if your business can justify the cost. Their templates are tested in all the common email clients...

    Hello Floyd.
Hopefully this support article is what you need:
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox+will+not+start
In any case, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme. You can troubleshoot plugins the same way.
If you want support for one of your add-ons, you'll need to contact its author.

  • When my iphone is connected to my Mac and I open iTunes, I can't find my photos.  Even the drop down menu doesn't even have an entry for photos.  I have music, books, movies, etc...but nothing for photos.  Where did it go?!

Here is a screen shot of all my options when I open iTunes.

    Hey NFredrick45208,
Thanks for the question. This drop down menu is actually specific to your local library. You'll want to select your iPhone in the upper right corner to browse the device:
iOS: Syncing your data with iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1386
Furthermore, you may want to turn on the iTunes Sidebar to return to the layout of previous versions:
iTunes 11 for Mac: Customize the iTunes window
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12164
Use the Sidebar to access your content, devices, and the iTunes Store
You might want to show the Sidebar if, for example, you use a screen reader.
    Choose View > Show Sidebar.
And finally, here is an article about importing your personal photos:
