ITunes 10.5 uses over 230,000K of memory when running on Win XP. Cpu ussage is maxed out at 100%. Why is this happening ?

on my laptop itunes is fine, it uses about 23,000k of memory,
and the itunes helper is not even an issue.
On my desktop running win xp itunes uses 230,000k of memory. I'm unable to run anything else.
I've already uninstalled and reinstalledand no change.
Can anybody help ??

Sounds like a problem with Excel, perhaps you have a Macro virus.
Download the free ClamXav and run a scan

Then uninstall and reinstall Office.
You can always use the free LibreOffice

Firefox using over 2 million k memory when using media player classic

Hi I have used Media player classic for years for videos but I have had this problem for over a month now when ever I watch a video with it with firefox open the memory usage of firefox max's out and locks the pc up now I have changed media player but I was wondering if there is a fix as I like media player classic

Do you really mean Media Player Classic? Both [http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/files/ the original] and [http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli2/files/ the fork] are no longer being developed. You should use the latest version of Media Player Classic Home Cinema. I've been using it for nearly a decade alongside Firefox with no issues. You have a 64-bit operating system, so be sure to get the 64-bit version.

HT201320 on my iPad3, i have my company email address and my gmail email account and yahoo email account. i send out email using my company's email account, but the recipient recieves mail as the From: my gmail account. why is this happening?

on my ipad3, i have a company email account, gmail account, and a yahoo account. my issue is that when using my company email account (making sure that my company email account is on the From: field), the recepient on the over end receives it with my google email account on the From:. and so when they reply, it goes to my gmail account.
Please note that my "default email" is yahoo.com on the ipad's settings - > mail.
i do not have any forwarding and this only happens on my ipad.

ITunes 7.6 uses massive amounts of system memory

When playing music in iTunes 7.6 on cover flow view, I notice from watching the processes tap of Windows Task Manager, that iTunes uses about 70MB of RAM when initially opened but that with each unique album cover it displays (by clicking on different songs from the library), the memory usage increases in increments of anywhere between 4MB and 40 MB. I first noticed the problem when my synchronization program displayed an error message stating that my computer was out of virtual memory. When I looked at the processes tab of Windows Task Manager, iTunes was using over 1GB of system memory (I have 2GB). Any ideas? Thanks!

not only does it hord your memroy.... it loads down your processor as well.
someoneelse mentioned it was trying to convert video files (constantly and never stops trying), and removing the video files should help...it did help, a little... 7.6 still lags and is slowest program I have installed on my PC at the moment.

The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works. Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up. Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp. Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp. Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.

Did you haveany problem with updating to iOS 5? It soundsl like the update did not correctly restore from the backup that iTunes mnakes as the fisr step of the update.

Because all apps are FOREVER tied to the Apple ID used to obtain them, & they can only be updated using that ID.

Hi, my wife has 2 different .me e-mail accounts. She uses one of them on her old mac-mini, that account was .mac and then updated to .me, and so she sends and gets mail there. Now she a new mac mini and she is using her second .me account on the new mac but when I try to open (create) other it won't let me. In other words she wants both of the accounts to be on the same computer (the new mac mini) since she wants to to sell the old one. I don't have much experience with Mac and all this ID thing has me confused. Why is this happening? What can I do to enable de second mail account on the same computer?
