  • Itunes 9.1 does not recognize my ipod touch

I have pc, windows 7 32bit cpu.  itunes 9.1 doesn not recognize my new ipod touch.  I want to down load my music from my computer to my ipod

You need iTunes 10 to work with any recent iPod touch, and iTunes 10.5 to work with one that has iOS 5, so you need to upgrade your version of iTunes.

  • ITunes 7.0 will not recognize my iPod Video

I'm new to this forum and somewhat of a novice when it comes to figuring this stuff out on my own. I happily downloaded 7.0 this morning because I purchased one of the tv shows that is earmarked for version 7.0. The download process went smoothly and I rebooted my computer as instructed. Regrettably, iTunes will not now recognize my pod! Fortunately, approximately 75% of all things purchased is backed up onto data discs and I'm going to back up the rest later today. However, I'm now skiddish and would like some advice as to how to fix this problem. How do I get Version 7.0 to recognize my iPod?

Dell   Windows XP   Version 2002; Service Pack 1
Dell   Windows XP   Version 2002; Service Pack 1

Can you do me a favor? Can you see if bouncing the iPodService -- i.e.
    1. Quit iTunes.
    2. Right click on "My Computer". Select "Manage"
    3. Select "Services and Applications" in the left hand panel.
    4. Double click on "Services" in the right hand panel.
    5. Double click on "iPodService" in the right hand panel.
    6. This brings up a dialog.
    7. In this dialog, push the "stop" button.
    8. Make sure your iPod is connected and wait until it settles in Windows, i.e. you get all the new hardware balloons and noises.
    9. Push the "start" button in the dialog to restart the iPodService.
    10. Restart iTunes.
Does iTunes now see your iPod?
Alternatively, if the iPod is plugged in when you boot the computer, does iTunes see the iPod?

  • Itunes suddenly decides to 'not recognize" my ipod

opened itunes, was adding a new album to the library, connected my ipod, changed the settings to manually adjust the songs. itunes showed all the songs on my ipod. I clicked on the new album that was in the recently added playlist in itunes and dropped it onto my iopd file in the library list -hoping to add it to the ipod.
Well, itunes wiped out all 200+ songs on the ipod instantly, and then refused to recognize the ipod saying i needed to use ipod updater to reset my ipod settings.
I tried resetting my ipod manually -no good.
I downloaded from this site the new updater to my pc and tried to have it reset my ipod -no good.
I downloaded the newest ver. of itunes and restarted my system. -no good.
Can someone help me through this maze of sketchy technology or atleast give me the proper voodoo incantation to get this unreliable software to work with an even less reliable piece of hardware?

I downloaded from this site the new updater to my pc and tried to have it reset my ipod -no good
Reset and Restore are 2 different things. You Restore an ipod with the ipod updater. THis formats, or erases everything on the ipod.
Reset is when you hold center and menu buttons on the ipod for 6 to 10 seconds. Its pretty much like rebooting your PC. You hold the buttons, the ipod shuts down shows the apple logo and "Boots" back up to the main menu.
So you need to first try Resetting it with it.
Then connect it to the PC and see if it shows in iTUnes OR in windows under "My Computer" as IPOD or Removable storage

  • After updating to ITunes 11.1.4 ITunes can see but not recognize my IPod and all my music was deleted from my IPod

I have not had any issues until I updated to the latest version. I have tried all the suggestions on the support web page and nothing has worked. I am hoping that this version of ITunes is the issue and that Apple will release a fixed version, Any suggestions?

Ok, here is the fix per Chad at Apple. Just did it and it worked.
    Open the Control Panel
    Uninstall *in this order*:
    1. iTunes
    2. Apple Mobile Device Driver
    3. Apple App Updater
    4. Bonjour
You may need to reboot after uninstalling Apple Mobile Device Driver, and ok if it still shows in the Control Panel.
Next, go to Apple.com, then download and install the most recent version of iTunes.

I recently had to reinstall itunes on my computer. Now, my computer and itunes won't recognize my ipod. But I can change it from my computer. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? I would really like to update my ipod!
    Thanks.

First of all, try another port on your computer. Some ports are not connected direct to the motherboard and do not recognize the iPod as well as those that are. Reset the iPod each time you connect it to another port.

  • My itunes will not recognize my ipod shuffle after installing Mcafee

My itunes will not recognize my Ipod shuffle, I have tried almost everything Itunes has suggested including uninstalling and installing Itunes.  I am at a loss, the computer recognizes the ipod and assigns a drive to it.  When I click on the drive there are flies in it.  I have disabled the firewall, checked all firewall settings as suggested in previous forums.  I have tried deleting the temp files but that keeps getting hung up on a file that says it is in use.  I can stll use my ipod because it charges but I can not update songs etc.
I contacted Mcafee but all they did was turn the firewall off (I could have done that myself).
If there is any help I would appreciate it!
    Thanks,
    Nadine

The first thing I did in the morning was contact McAfee they turned the firewall off it didnt work so they said it wasnt their problem.  I attempted several other things using ITunes help but none of the solutions worked.  I would say it is something in my computer but the drive shows up in my files so the computer is reading the USB port.  I tried changing the drive but that didnt help.
I cannot find a universal "OFF switch" in McAfee But I have turned the firewall off several times after many different attempts.
I do not find an area where I can tell Itunes where the Ipod is in Windows Explorer, that would be helpful at least it could try to locate it then. You would think this feature would be available since Itunes would like us to purchase music through them to load on our equipment.  Since my computer does not recognize my Ipod there is no need for me to purchase music.
Do I sound frusturated - I AM But I appreciate your trying to help.

  • ITunes will not recognize my iPod Classic

Whenever I try to connect my iPod to my Dell PC with iTunes running, I get an iPod Service Module Error message. The message box asks if I want to send an error report. When I click OK nothing happens; my iPod does not get recognized by iTunes. However, my PC recognizes my iPod. I cannot find anything, anywhere about this iPod Service Module Error. Has anyone had this problem, and know of a fix? I am pulling my hair out here. I can't do anything with my iPod now.

I tried reinstalling iTunes and keep getting the same iPod Service Module Error. I also tried running the iPod Software Updater and I get a message that I have an invalid iPod Service version.
I recently tried u[dating Windows XP with the Service Pack 3 updates. I cannot get this to complete the install. I get a message stating that the updates failed and Windows XP may not work properly. I wonder if this is causing my headaches? my iPod seemed to work fine before I tried this SP3 update.
