ITunes chrashes when synchronizing

I have this problem with iTunes 7.6.2
Everytime I try to synchronise my Ipod (Video, 80GB) with my library, iTunes stalls.
I have about 4800 files in my library, of which about 100 are movie files. Synchronising the movie files works fine, but every time iTunes tries to synchronise my Music library the program stops and I get the message that an unknown error has occured (-69). Other times the program just crashes and I have to use Windows Task Manager to close it. I synchronise everything at once (movies and music files). I haven't changed the standard settings of iTunes and iPod.
I have tried the following:
- Removing Itunes, Quicktime and all other Apple components.
- Manually I deleted those Apple/iTunes folders that were still there.
- Using regedit I cleared the registry of all Apple keys.
- I have updated Windows XP with SP3
- I have downloaded and installed .NET framework 3 (don't know why, I read it might be useful)
- I rebooted the computer.
- After that I downloaded and installed iTunes 7.6.2 again.
- I had my iPod reset to the factory settings.
- I added my files to the library - no problem there.
But still no difference when synchronising, except for the fact that iTunes doesn't crash on me. But I still can't synchronise.
Can anyone help me out please?

HI there. I'm also having a few problems syncing my iPod Touch. I can't seem to install the new update and for whatever reason it seems to be taking forever.
I have aborted two updates to 2.01 so far because nothing seems to happen. I am also wary of updating having seen some of the posts on this topic which does not exactly fill me with any confidence.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I should do next? I have thought of doing the update overnight but I am not very optimistic of it completing the task.
Any ideas people? I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks
Anselm

  • ITunes chrashes when I try to update my iTouch to 2.0.1.

If I try to upgrade the iTouch to 2.0.1, iTunes crashes after some secondes with this error message:
    EventType : BEX P1 : iTunes.exe P2 : 7.7.1.11 P3 : 4890a5ee
    P4 : iTunes.exe P5 : 7.7.1.11 P6 : 4890a5ee P7 : 00094576
    P8 : c0000409 P9 : 00000000
Previous upgrade from 1.1.4 to 1.1.5 works fine without any problems. I used another computer, but the same picture. Any tips? Of course I update iTunes to 7.7.1.

Already solved! I used the 'restore' function in iTunes. Just need to copy all the songs again . My iTouch is now on 2.0.1

  • Turning off the iPad screen when synchronizing with the iTunes

Quick question: How do I turn off the iPad screen when synchronizing with the iTunes. Is this even possible? Are there settings I am overlooking? Or perhaps a third-party app which can make it happen?
I have a large library and often leave my iPad connected to iTunes for several hours at a stretch. The bright glowing screen can be a big distraction, and, more importantly I am very worried about pixel burn-in.
    Cheers,

The iPad LED Backlit IPS Screen is not phosphor-based, so there is no permanent phosphor burn-in problem. You might see some image persistence, but that is not permanent and can be corrected. See this support article about image persistence: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2807
Since you have already converted your music to 128 kbps, you are unlikely to see any more 10+ hour syncs unless you have to do a restore. In that event, you could select the brightness control in settings to the lowest level.
FYI, there are some apps, such as Night stand HD that are designed to be used for long periods with unvarying displays and I have yet to see image persistence problems reported. However, since the iPad is still a new product, there may be some reports in the future.

  • When synchronizing my iphone4 on the computer it errors out when optimizing the photos and shuts down iTunes.  Any idea what to do to get the synch working?

When synchronizing my iphone4 on the computer it errors out when optimizing the photos and shuts down iTunes.  Any idea what to do to get the synch working?

OKay, here is the deal. You cannot change the location of encrypted files nor can you share them with other machines. There is no file server for iTunes so even if you export the movie index from iTunes to an external volume, each time you reboot your computer itunes has to reindex the external drive every time you want to access the files. The second you run your mobile computer without the external drive or try to access the HD movies from another device or another user on the same network, the indexing gets out of synch. The entire process is self defeating regardless. The HD movies are encapsulized by apple to stream to your devices via iCloud and NOT via Cloud. Only your TV can play 1080p. That single file you download from iTunes has mutiple versions of the same video in the capsul, one version for each type of apple device. There are no 1080p apple devices except for the Apple TV. When you buy a movie you are buying a license and not the movie. It's going to get worse with all the new copywrite laws. Already you cant share any apple devices with other itunes accounts. Your airport express just stopped streaming music to all users on the local home sharing Cloud. Only the one user for each device and soon only airplay speakers connected directly to the device. No more passthru via your TV and no more file sharing with other accounts on the same wi-fi. All the ISPs are doing the same thing. And soon everybody will be buying their phones and TV's and iPads from the cabble guy.
Apple has done a poor job of educating the consumer as to the difference between the Cloud and iCloud. They are not the same at all.

Well, you can go into setting>mail, contacts, calendars>add new account or through iTunes you can plug your phone into your computer, open iTunes, select your device, then select info. I hope this helps. Au revoir!

    CREATE A NEW USER
Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Users & Groups
Decide on whether to setup as Admin or Standard User.
Switch to the New User by logging out under the Apple in the Menu Bar or use Fast User Switching
Fast User Switching allows other users to leave current applications and windows open. Depending on RAM, you might need to log out rather than use FUS.

  • The iTune Remote App has stopped finding my iTunes library when connected to wifi from my main router, but works fine when connected via second wifi router on the same network (different SSID)

I'm running iTunes Remote App from a couple of iPhone 5's and a first generation iPod Touch. iTunes is running on a PC - Windows 7. My home network runs two Wifi Routers, each with a different SSID. I've had no problems with the Remote app running this set up for the last 8 months but recently the App can only find my iTunes library when the iPhone/iPod is connected via one specific router, when connected to the network via the other router, no iTunes library is found. I'm also running an Apple TV and it's the same as the iTunes Library, only visible via the one SSID.
Everything else seems to work fine when connected via either router, eg Internet on the iPhones (definitely via wifi)
I've tried renewing the lease on the iPhone wifi connection, restarting everything.....several times.....
It used to work fine, this only seems to have been a problem in recent weeks
Any help or advice would be much appreciated
    Thanks
    Ian

It turned out to be the firewall settings on our router. Her machine was sending traffic that our router interpreted as a DoS attack and blacklisted her Airport's MAC address. That's why it would work fine if she switched to Ethernet.

  • TS2818 I have purchased songs from iTunes and when I sync with my Ipad only some are imported....then it says contact Itunes as to why your songs are not being synced.

I have purchased many songs on Itunes and then I sync to my Ipad. Then it tells me so many songs cannot be synced.  Why? I also attach my connection and it is now saying this iphone is not connected when it is an Ipad connected to my MacBook Air.  I also think that when you have an account with Apple they should honour your email to all your music and not just your laptop as I now have to use my old laptop which is about to die so what happens then.

What is the exact wording of the error message?
Were all songs purchased by the same iTunes account?
What did iTunes say when you contacted them?

  • I put songs onto my IPhone 4, and they show up under the "On This Phone" section in itunes, but when I go to play the songs on my phone, they aren't there. How can I fix this?

I put songs onto my IPhone 4, and they show up under the "On This Phone" section in itunes, but when I go to play the songs on my phone, they aren't there. How can I fix this?

When you look at your iPhone, are you looking in the Music app or in the iTunes app?  Be sure you are looking in the Music app, and look in the Songs category.  If your songs are not here, you may want to try syncing your information again through iTunes.  To do this, uncheck "Sync Music" and then click apply or sync in the bottom right corner of iTunes, and then recheck "Sync Music" and then click apply or sync again.
    I hope this helps!

  • I can't sort iTunes U lectures properly.  I can sort them properly on my laptop in iTunes, but when I transfer them to my iPhone, they are all jumbled up.  How can I fix this?

I'm using my iPhone for listenting to lectures on iTunes U.  When I download lectures to my laptop, they are sometimes arranged non-sequentially.  I can fix this by renaming the files (e.g., with numbers in the titles), and then sorting by title.   However,  when I transfer the audio lectures to my iPhone, they are all sorted by "release date" (and frequently the release date is the same for each lecture), and this screws up the ordering.  This means that when I'm listening to the lectures, they are all out of order.
I can find no setting on the iPhone for changing the ordering of lectures in iTunes U, nor can I find a way of changing such things when the iPhone is plugged into my laptop.  For example, when I connect the iPhone to the laptop, and open iTunes, I select the device (i.e., the iPhone), look at the lectures in iTunes U, and iTunes will not let me change the column that sorts the files.
Any suggestions about how to correct this problem?

You can sort your library by adding a Sorting info in the File Info. Select a file in iTunes U, press cmd + i, choose Sorting Tab. For example add a Sort Name. For each file you have to put a value into that field, I did it with 01, 02, 03 .. 12. I do not know if this works if you select multiple files, but I did not try.
The next time you sync your device, your files will be in order. It' ve tested it on an iPad2.
If you ask me, there must be a better solution for that problem as the files have a track number saved in the info as well, and it is quite annoying to add the sorting order manually.
