ITunes copied and sync'd with a NAS?

Hi - just converted to Sonos and wanted to copy my iTunes library to a NAS (as a music source for the Sonos) and ensure that it keeps in sync.
Can anyone provide an idiot's guide how to do this?

ive got a friend on the inside ^^ unfortunately, she didnt quite have a complete answer (shes a mac). basically, it has to do with the fact that the iphone can only be managed by 1 computer. i have tried to trick it by importing my old library to my new comp, with limited success. i can now access all of my apps on the new comp, but still cannot manage files on my iphone. basically i would have to re-sync the phone and i REALLY dont want to do that.
i imported the old library by simply copying the old library to an external hard drive, unplug external from old and plug to new, and then (on the new computer) going to 'File' then 'Add folder to library' and selecting the copied old library on the external hard drive. this copied all of my info over to the new comp. as i said, i still cannot manage files.

No, they won't transfer over, however, there are third party PC/Mac programs which will transfer the content of your iPod to your computer. Just do a Google search on this topic and you will find them (e.g. senuti)

Okay... I've just found the solution. It's really simple, just plug the phone to the MacBook, fire up iTunes, check the "Sync Photos from iPhoto" option, make sure all the other options are not checked, and just sync. Voila! my iPhoto library is now in the palm of my hand.

You can change the account shortname to whatever you wish to use.
As you can see from my example above. Once you click on the Create User button a new account will be created.
She will need to get her own Apple ID setup so when she starts with iTunes she can open her own iTunes account unless you both want to share the use of the same Apple ID. This can create a bit of confusion if you have your own iPads or iPhones or iPods. As you have discovered it's pretty much one iDevice with one Apple ID.
As for the iTunes library that becomes a more complicated issue.

When you synced in iTunes did you select your phone in devices on t left column and then click on tones int eh window on the right. When you synced did you tick all tones and tick sync and then click sync at the bottom of the window on the right? Was the ton ein the tones folder in the library folder?

The best is to create another Windows user profile(additional User Account) where each one of you can manage your own account, library, playlist Apps, Contacts etc,

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. But you'll still need the password.
Once you have the computer authorized to use the account she could change the password again to stop you buying apps on her card (assuming it's not on yours!). It would lock you out of upgrading them too but they should work unless she uses the deathorize all feature.

I'm having the same problem. It's as if my iPhone and MacBook Pro now have two separate calendars.
Basically, I have a MacBook Pro (Mountain Lion, 13", late 2011) that I sync via USB with an iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1.1). Before upgrading to Mountain Lion, all of my iCal events would sync flawlessly. But none of the events I've created in iCal (Calendars) since upgrading have synced to the iPhone. Likewise, no new events that I create on the iPhone Calendar will sync to iCal. Also, changes to an existing event (even one created before upgrading to Mountain Lion) don't get synced either.
Everything else seems to be syncing just fine though (music, apps, contacts, etc).

iTunes credits are, for example, if you download a song from the store and it's found to be corrupt - if the track can't be fixed then iTunes support will tend to give you a song credit for a free download.
When you purchase music from the store then any credits that you have will be used first, then any balance that you have (e.g. from iTunes gift cards or allowances), and any remaining amount will be taken from your credit card.
