ITunes crashes when I log out of my account

I have a problem every time I try to log out of itunes so that my son can log into his account - PC crashes EVERY time.  HELP!?

It depends on how paranoid you are.
There is a theoretical risk that a site in another tab or window could read through the history of your banking session and extract information, but that probably is very rare.
You definitely want to close the browser before leaving the PC available to another person.

  • ITunes Crashing When I Log Out

I recently did a complete rebuild of Windows 7 (64 bit) and have been in the process of adding all my multimedia back in to the system from my NAS (network attached storage).
Everything was going swimmingly well until I got to my Apple products (surprise surprise)...when I went to download iTunes, I wasn't thinking and just downloaded the "latest and greatest" and launched it, then added my network folder of music.  Everything populated fine.  Then my wife decided to take some iTunes money she got for Christmas and buy some new music - so we plugged her iPod Shuffle (running Software Version 1.1.3) and I was able to see just the music on her Shuffle, or just the music in iTunes - but not both so could not drag and drop music anymore.
    The joy of iTunes 12...
Then I remembered that iTunes 11 had hidden the navigation pane, but you could restore it, and the issues that iTunes 12 has presented by doing away with it entirely.  Since this is a complete rebuild I said screw it, removed iTunes entirely from the system and installed the legacy version of iTunes that allows me to browse both the device that's tethered and my own music library - version 10.6.
Installed just fine, and went through the process of adding my music library again.  Then, my wife got on the computer and she logged into her Windows account.  iTunes showed no music in her library, just her Shuffle.  No big deal, right?  Just add the folder and it should populate.  I tried that and it does not show any files even after trying to add it multiple times.
I've restarted the app, restarted the computer and had no success with her Windows profile.  I even tried launching the installer and running the repair function without success.  So, I said screw it, and had her log into the computer using my Windows profile so she could see our music library.  The only problem is that it's using my Apple ID in iTunes for stuff I've purchased.  No big deal, right?  Just log me out of iTunes and log her in, right?
Wrong - whenever I try to log out, iTunes crashes.  It even crashes when I try to view my own profile information. It's like Apple just does not want me to connet to the store with a legacy version of iTunes. Please help?

There are two applications folders, one under the users home directory (this one is probably empty), the other one is under the top level of the harddrive.  (This is the one shared by all users).  Locate Safari there and drag it to the dock.  You can also use spotlight to find it, located on the menubar (the magnifying glass).  Type Safari and click on it to run.  When it starts, right click the icon on the dock and select Options > keep on dock.

  • How can I stop my login screen changing to shrunken dimensions when I log out from my account, it does so randomly!

    Hi,
Does anybody know how I might fix the followin:
When I log out of my user account on my macbook the screen display has started to do weird stuff like change size so that the usual log in screen appears small and to the left, not filling the whole screen, then if someone else in the familiy logs in to their user they may have the same problem within their usual screen, with a small area instead of the full screen to work with. THe remaining screen displays blue, without the chosen wall paper etc. It seems to do this randomly so that logging in and out of accounts, shutting down and reopening can get things back to normal, but only until it goes weird again.
    Thank you for any help.
    Billie

It sounds like a problem wih the backlight inverter. Usually they just go, instead of on and off.
In a dark room hold a flashlight on the display when it blacks out. If you can see the items on the desktop, it's probably the backlight.

  • How do you prevent deleting files when you log out of an account on a MacBook

I have set up a new account for my son on my MacBook.  I set parental controls.  It will not allow him to save files when he logs out.  How can I allow him to save files and then keep them when he logs out?

Selecting all does not help - the issue is I need a table within an incoming email to be moved to excel, edited and then pasted back into a new email. "Select All" picks up the email headers, signatures, any messages around the table etc so that doesn't work. Also, as pointed out above Excel doesn't have a select all feature to get the tables back into the body of an email.
I just tried again going from Excel into Outlook 2011. No luck. All one column down the left side of the email. All columns are removed and text crammed into one column. Just to check I cut from one Excel document and pasted into another and it retained all formating just fine. It is only in and out of Outlook that seems to be the issue.

  • Lost all my offline music when I logged out

For some reason when I logged out of my account on iPhone 6 it lost all of my offline music the only thing that stayed was my playlist. Any help on getting this back ? FYI the only thing I use my apology account is on my phone don't have one on computer or anything.

As far as I know is that when you log out, all he local data is removed. Your playlist will always be there when you log in again, but your phone will remove offline music when you log out.

  • Computer logs itself into Root account after logging out of admin account

I am experiencing a problem with my laptop logging itself into the root account. I recently started having my computer log itself out of my account if I was inactive for several minutes as a security precaution. However, now I frequently return to find my computer logged out of my account, but logged into the root account. The normal login window that appears when you log out of an account appears over the desktop of the root account. Any ideas how I can stop my computer from logging in like this and making my computer even less secure than it was before?

if you create another administrator account, dose it have the same issue as the managed account? if it dose not, dose any programs open when you login as the new administrator account?

  • ITunes crashes when I'm trying to log in into iTunes store

After I've made my first purchase (of a music album) in iTunes store iTunes has crashed. And now iTunes crashes when I'm trying to log in into iTunes store. I've tried removing it, deleting iTunes folder in C:\Users\USER_NAME\Music and then installing iTunes. The problem's remained.
    Additional info:
    iTunes version: 11.3.1.2
    Windows 8.1 64-bit.

I've solved the problem by updating Windows.

  • ITunes crashing when connecting to the store on Windows 8.1

    Hello,
I had iTunes crashing when connecting to the iTunes Store with an Apple ID. I tried unsucessfully all the solutions posted on the many threads of people having the same issue. So I decided to reinstall Windows. A clean Windows 8.1 install from the Microsoft DVD. And guess what, it is still crashing! How can this even be possible?
    The problem:
    - iTunes crashes when connecting to the store with an Apple ID. It connects, briefly freezes, then crashes.
    - I can access the store without an Apple ID without crashes. But it crashes as soon as I connect with an Apple ID.
    The system:
    - A clean, fully updated, Windows 8.1 Pro w/ WMC install from the Microsoft DVD.
    - Applications I installed, along with iTunes: Adobe Reader, Google Chrome, Skype, Office 2013. Nothing else. No crapware. No nothing. These are fairly common applications that shouldn't conflict with iTunes.
    - Antivirus is the built-in Windows Defender.
    - Firewall is the built-in Windows Firewall.
    - Intel HD Graphics 3000 on an Acer V3-571-6486
    - I have not moved Apple's folder from Romaing and Local AppData of the old systems... So it's a clean iTunes profile.
    - I can sucessfully sign-in to the iTunes Store with this account on another computer
    - I have tried with multiple accounts on this computer, all crashing
There are tons of threads about this. I tried all the solutions posted, including:
    - Adding "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support" to the PATH environment variable
    - Copying QTMovieWin.dll from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes"
    - Moving QTMovieWin.dll from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes"
    - Updating the graphics card to the latest available driver from Intel's website (9.17.10.3517, 2014-10-04)
    - Downgrade the graphics driver (9.17.10.3347, 2014-01-29)
    - Use the graphic's driver from Acer's website.
    - Use Microsoft's Basic VGA Driver
    - Disable the Graphic's Adapter entirely
    - Have tried to monitor the process with ProcMon, looking for a hint like a missing file or registry entry, but have not found anything helpful.
These solutions seem to have worked for almost everyone, but not me. The crash details in the Windows Application log are useless. Faulty module name is 'unknown'.
I am out of solutions. Is there anything left to do? Can anyone out Apple debug the dump file or something? Is there any way to contact Apple about this issue?
    Many thanks.

    Hey zoyashahab,
Ok, so it sounds like there are two issues here we want to address, the first being the iTunes Store connection issue and the second being iTunes not recognizing your iOS devices.
First, I'd start with troubleshooting the recognition by following the steps in here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
If after getting that running again, you still can't connect to the iTunes Store, then I'd go through the troubleshooting steps in here:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store

  • ITunes crashes when connecting iPad or iPhone

iTunes crashes when i connect iPad or iPhone.  Running OSX 10.9.3 and the most up to date iTunes version?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if iTunes crashed, you would enter "iTunes" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
☞ If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
☞ Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • Itunes crashes when I try to authorise PC for Itunes match

I have just subscribed to iTunes match but having trouble with iTunes crashing when I try to authorise / enable my PC to use iTunes match.
I get a wt.exe error. Using Windoes XP. Any suggestions - tires reinstalling iTUnes but no joy.

If you're running iTunes 6.0.5, I would need the crash log to figure out why you're crashing.
Typically, you'll need to configure Dr. Watson on your PC in order to generate crash logs. Windows start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return. At the prompt in the command line window that comes up, type in
    drwtsn32 -i
    And hit return.
This will create crash logs in Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\. There'll usually be a file in here called "drwtsn32.log" If there's already a file there, it most likely has multiple crash logs in it (new crash logs are just appended to the end of the file). So, delete this file. This will make sure you're not sending extra information I don't need. These crash logs are text files, so you can open them in notepad or whatever to see what information you're sending.
So, get the machine setup to collect crash logs, do the thing that makes iTunes crash. Send it to me. It doesn't hurt to put the URL to this discussion thread because I get a lot of these messages and are easily confused.

  • ITunes crashes when I connect my iPod to the PC when iTunes is running....

I have written about this problem before, but there have not been any successful solutions as of this date. I will explain my situation a little further and maybe someone can help.
Most of the time, when I connect my iPod to my pc while iTunes is running, the instance the iPod shows up on the library site, and whenever I move the cursor, iTunes crashes, so I have to close iTunes right away and try to disconnect my iPod. Most of the time, a message comes up that says info is being transferred to the ipod and that I shouldn't disconnet it at that time, but I usually go ahead because I know it isn't transferring at that time, since itunes has crashed.
Sometimes, after I have clicked on the first message to go ahead and disconnect my ipod, another messages comes up that says something to the effect of, "You can't disconnect because it is being used by another server at this time." So I click "OK" and then iTunes stays on for a few moments which gives me time to transfer a song or two, but then itunes crashes as soon as it finished transferring or before it finishes.
As anyone can imagine, this has really become a hugh problem. Having an iPod and not being able to use iTunes makes it very unhandy. I'm not able to add any new music or any of the playlists which i have been working on. Does anyone have a solution, or any suggestions as to what may be going on? It would be deeply appreciated.
I plan to restore my iPod in a day or two if I don't get a solution to this, but I don't have all of the music, videos, etc. that I have on the iPod since I removed much of it from iTunes to help the computer run faster. I had over 2000 items in the library, so it was pulling the pc down and it was taking forever to use the computer.
I am unable to use any of the software to transfer everything from my iPod to the iTunes library because of the problem with iTunes crashing when I connect the iPod, so this isn't a solution at this time.
    Someone, please help!
HP   Windows XP   Using DSL for internet access

I suspect a hardware problem.  But do the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset.  Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore the iPod from backup via iTunes
    - Resore the iPid to factoery defaults/new iPod.
In the latter part of you post, I thin you ar sayng that you do not have a syning computer and the music is not on the computer. If so, do the following so you will not lose anthing (or very little) when you restore.
    - Transfer iTunes purchases to the computer:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
    Best iPod to PC
    - Connect the iPod to the computer and right click on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Backup. This will make a backup so you can restore to the backup

  • Itunes crashes when syncing Ipad with mp4 movies in photo folder for keynotes

I'm trying to upload a small MP4 video onto my Ipad to use in Keynotes. I place the video in the photo folder and select sync, then tunes crashes.
I had created the video in Corel Video Studio pro 3 and created MP4 file. Copied to the IPAD and had it all working. I then made changes to the video and reconverted and now Itunes crashes when syncing.
    Itunes 10.4.1.10 Ipad 4.3.5
    Please help urgent

I had the same problem, and it turns out that the problem is having the same file into different folders. For example I had an MP4 in iTunes, and the same file in the photos folder that was being updated to the iPad. So I just removed one file and it syncs perfectly.
