Itunes has lost my Ipod, and my children are unbearable.

Last week Itunes lost my Ipod. When I search in My Computer it still shows I am attached, and if I go into properties all my music is still there.
So, I have downloaded the newest version of Itunes with no success, and now I am stuck.
I know its not the Ipod as we have 2, and they both are not being recognised, and nothing appears in the systray when they are connected. I dont think any Windows upgrades have been installed.
I have tried the list of tasks set out in the Apple support, and nothing has changed.
Help, please !!

Finally, does your iPod show Do Not Disconnect? Have you tried a different cord?

We have recently downloaded all our CDs into itunes to clear them out and have them successfully on our devices. I went to reorganise my music and change things and discovered that my music library looks like it is there but says cannot locate file. I have tried to search for the albums but they are nowhere. There is my most recent download and I can search for that and it plays but that is all. Please help...we no longer have the albums and have purchased a lot through itunes.

That can definitely be stressful, but there's an article that can help you find the media you expected to appear in iTunes. I'd read through it and see if that helps you find the missing music:

so i am asking, where is the music i purchased??? all my playlists have song that do nt belong to them, and one playlist literally had no songs!! my itunes on tablet or computer shows the same. i hope am not the only one, maybe some of the apple servers are down?

Check to see if, in iTunes Preferences, Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases is check to show your purchases. If you recently updated iTunes, you may need to revert to a previous version of your iTunes Library.

That wouldn't happen automatically, Firefox doesn't synchronize bookmarks with IE favorites.
Any chance you were using Google Bookmarks in Firefox? And then with the Google Toolbar not working any longer you just can't access your Google Bookmarks from within Firefox ??

Sounds like your iPod is broken. Take it to Apple or someone else who repairs iPods and see if you can get it fixed, or get it replaced.

I'm using iPod touch for a year now. It was doing fine this morning but in the afternoon suddenly when I took it out of my bag, the screen was just black and it wouldn't turn on and stuff. So I thought it didn't have battery so I charged it didn't work. I plugged to the computer and it said iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before in can be used with iTunes.
Maybe my bag was little wet today but i don't think that is why.. since it wasn't that bed.. just some paper was wet and stuff..

When you say reset your settings do you mean to factory settings? As my iPod was swapped at the store for a new one and the problem is still there...

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...

I'm trying to put my music on my new iPod and keep getting this error message "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore the iPod before it canb work with iTunes". I click "restor to factory settings" and then the same error message comes up when it's complete. iTunes does recognize my iPod, it just doesn't seem to realize that I've already done what it's telling me to do. Going around and circles and can't get my music on...:( Help, please?
