Itunes Update Coming?

As I noticed for the Iphone 4 here http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html, on the Mac System Requirements, it says you must have a Itunes 9.2 or later. And I clicked the free download link, but the only Itunes available is Itunes 9.1.1 for me to download.
Now does this mean an update is coming or is the update already out? I checked for updates on Itunes on my Mac OS X 10.4.11 right now and it says Itunes 9.1.1 is the current version.
Can someone please advise?

My guess is that iTunes 9.2 (the version which will support iPhone 4 and iOS 4) will PROBABLY be out on the release date of iPhone 4, or maybe a day before. So when you do pick up your new iPhone, just be sure to run Apple Software Update first and download the new version and you will be good to go!

• ITunes updates..?

I was wonderig if there is any new iTunes updates coming any time soon because ever since I upgraded the last update,my iTunes store has been messed up and I'M NEEDING MY SONGS! It's driving me crazy!! That's the only solution I've figured is the upgrade because everything worked fine until then. Ususally,iTunes doesn't work as well without the update, but in this case its the exact opposite!! PLEASE GIVE ME SOME INFORMATION ON THIS SUBJECT SO THE PROBLEM CAN BE RESOLVED ASAP!!!

rachbabe, there are plenty of posts here on AD on this very subject. After an upgrade to itunes, it is usually Norton/Symantec security software that blocks access to the iTunes store. It blocks the access without telling you that it's doing it.
So go into yoru security software, take out itunes.exe and ituneshelper.exe. Save hte changes. Then put those 2 entries back in and save the changes again.

• Tried to install itunes update software and now error message coming up

I tried to install the itunes update today and now its not working. error message 7 keeps coming up- I have tried to trouble shoot but still not working. uninstalled itunes and reinstalled, still not working. HELP

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

• When ever itunes updates, it ends up coming up with error message please re-install itunes, nothing i do seems to work, help please

When ever iTunes updates, it ends up coming up with error message, iTunes did not install properly, please re-install iTunes, this is about the fourth time this has happened, end up having to take it to computer tech at a cost of $180, please help

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

• I am having problems opening iTunes... is a new update coming?

My iTunes still does not open after I upgraded to the latest OSX software. When is a new upgrade coming? I've been forcing the application to open by showing package contents, right clicking the app and forcing it... but it's a pain.

There's always an update coming...

• I keep getting an error when i try to download the itunes update pleasenhelp, I keep getting an error when i try to download the itunes update pleasenhelp

I'be been trying to download itunes update it comes up with an error
i have tried ti download i tunes 11.0.3 and again an error keeps coming up
please help

That is odd. I would uninstall iTunes from the computer and re-install it from scratch. The cool thing is that it won't delete any music or backups and such. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925?viewlocale=en_US this here link walks through uninstalling and re-installing iTunes. The basics are going to your control panel and removing iTunes, Quick time, Apple software update, Apple mobile device support, Bonjour, and Apple application support. Then go to iTunes.com and download a new copy of iTunes. This should resolve the issue!
If you need further help uninstalling iTunes you may want to call 1-800-my-apple.

• ITunes update problem leading to a Windows NTLDR error

I also experienced the "MCVCR80.dll is missing" / "Error 7, Windows error 126" iTunes update error like almost everyone else. I followed turingtest2's solution that has been posted in the countless threads on this problem (e.g. https://discussions.apple.com/message/24618776#24618776); really, turingtest2's solution is coming from Apple's own HT1923 & HT1925 articles.
My computer would not reboot, though! I got the error, "NTLDR IS MISSING", which indicates a *major* operating system problem. In trying to troubleshoot this problem, I've gotten myself into a real mess: it looks like I may have inadvertently wiped Windows and perhaps all my installed applications off my hard drive, in effect taking me back to my new out of the box state in 2005!!
I had Windows XP SP3 with all current updates installed, along with the Apple software needed to support my iPod Touch 3 and my iPad 3.
Here's what I did:
(1) I removed the applications in the order turingtest2 stated, running into the anticipated problem with Apple Mobile Device Support but pressing on as suggested.
(2) After uninstalling the final application, Apple Application Support, I retried uninstalling Apple Mobile Device Support one more time, but it failed to uninstall again, so I just pressed on.
(3) Because Apple Mobile Device Support failed to uninstall, I decided to check out the HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP article per turingtest2's suggestion, and did the extra step of making sure that iTunes and its related components are completely uninstalled.
(4) That included manually removing the Apple Mobile Device Support subfolder from the Common Files folder, that I assumed was still around because Apple Mobile Device Support failed to fully uninstall (btw I did NOT have any problem with iPodService being removed).
(5) I rebooted my computer.
(6) During that reboot process, as my computer was trying to load Windows from my hard drive, on a black screen appeared: "NTLDR IS MISSING, PRESS CTRL-ALT-DELETE TO RESTART".
(7) No other key press worked, so I did a ctrl-alt-delete, and the computer rebooted and then just displayed the same 'ntldr is missing' message.
(8) I did a forced shutdown (by holding in the power button) and turned on my computer again, just to get the same ntldr message.
(9) I used my iPad to research that message on the Internet, and found that I may be missing a couple of operating system files (ntldr & ntdetect.com) on my hard drive, which I can reload from my original Windows CDs . But like with most PC owners, my computer didn't come with any such CDs, though I did create Recovery CDs at home as advised (the ones I found in my desk were SP3 luckily).
(10) So I followed the Internet instructions of inserting 'the Windows XP bootable CD into the computer", rebooting the computer (I first verified that my BIOS is set to boot from a CD before my main hard drive), and pressing the "R" key to repair Windows.
(11) The remainder of the instructions would have had me then logging into Windows and copying the two before-mentioned files off the CD and into the root directory of my hard drive. But it didn't let me do that. Instead it just began automatically restoring Windows off the CD and onto my hard drive.
(12) Once that started, I didn't dare attempt to intervene.
(13) When it finished, it had me reboot.
(14) After loading, Windows displayed the first screen of the newly installed Windows setup procedure, a screen that I have seen many times on computers at work that I have reformatted hard drives on and installed a fresh Windows on (I served as my small (20-employees) company's network administrator because, though technically a novice relative to most network gurus, as an experienced computer programmer I knew the most about computers there).
(15) Afraid of taking another step forward, I haven't gone past that first screen. This is where I'm at right now.
I'm scared of going further because I don't know what Recovery has done to this point. I assume it would leave all my data files alone, though that wouldn't be a catastrophe, since I do full and incremental backups to an external drive. But has it in fact already reinstalled whatever the Windows it had on that CD overtop of the Windows on my hard drive? Has it already wiped all my installed applications from my hard drive? Or will it do any of this in the steps following this first screen? Can I avert a catastrophe or is it already too late?
If I were a regular user it would still be a big problem. But as a guy who makes his living with his computer, it is a catastrophe. Yes, I have all my original purchased software CDs. But I also have accumulated dozens if not hundreds of freeware software programs.
I don't know which of Apple's steps to uninstall iTunes caused my problem, but of course one of them did, in combination with my unique computer's state. Please, turingtest2 and others, if you can help me, I would so appreciate it. And of course it would be best if we can find a solution to avoid others potentially having the same problem.
Thank you,
Gary Schankula (Canada)

I just made a back up DVD on the G5 and then loaded it onto the Vista iTunes .. worked great and took 10 mins total with both machines

• ITunes update failed to reinstall on 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium

Never had problems before with iTunes update. I never had to do anything besides accepting the agreement, followed the prompts, and clicked "Finish" at the end of the installation. But the update that came 3 days ago failed to install, with a message to get the 64-bit version of iTunes even though iTunes have always installed to the same 64-bit OS computer. After countless hours of uninstalling and reinstalling, and registry clean up, I'm now coming up at 2 consecutive reinstallations with this error message:
Could not open key:
UNKNOWN\Components\32A7D634EB632D11CABB00087CCFBB48\C09E34DBD62CDBC6EB11CA. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
I have read other postings with identical error message but no answers either here or on the Apple's forum site. I will appreciate any help, workaround or whatever.
Thanks.

I also face the same problem installing it on my Window 7 Professional. Have you found an answer to this? Thanks.

• Updated iTunes software & ITunes Updater and now cannot sync iPod

I was requested to update my iTunes software and install the iTunes updater, which I accomplished. Now when I go to sync up my iPod I get the following error message "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to be closed, We are sorry for the inconvenience" It will not allow iTunes to remain open or sync with my iPod. It didn't happen prior to installing the updater. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hard to believe an update did this!! I had the exact problem-updated my iPod & iTunes software & iTunes was crashing whenever I hooked up the iPod-"unclicking" all of my purchased music did the trick! THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH FOR THAT TIP-I'M SURE I WOULD'VE STILL BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM!!
Wish I hadn't restored factory settings first since I would have at least still had my piles of PURCHASED music on the iPod-I accidentally had ONE purchased song checked off to update the iPod & it crashed all over again-glad it was easy enough to figure out which song wasn't from my cd collection that I uploaded! Does anyone have any idea how this will be handled? It seems that money should be refunded for buying these songs for Apple products that, upon the company's instructions to upgrade, can no longer be played on the hardware they're specifically designed for! Or at least they're hopefully coming up with a new upgrade to solve the problem! Very irritating situation!

• ITouch/iTunes Update

After updating my iTouch with the version 4 and updating my iTunes to version 10, my computer is suddenly not able to find the right program to launch/detect the iTouch. It says "found new hardware" but my computer isn't able to open it. My computer says that the new updates are NOT compatible with Windows XP and it says to contact the company about changing compatibility. Is there some extra update/add-on?
I tried looking everywhere for apple's online help service, but after looking for hours and hours. I could find none. The website is not user friendly at all. Hopefully, someone here would be of more help, or would be able to direct me to the right email address.
Thanks in advance.

I found a way (if this is your problem) to recognize your iPod touch. If you have the iTunes Setup (the iTunes logo coming out of the box) click into it and choose (I think) check for new system update. After that go to iTunes and it should recongnize your iPod Touch. Hope I helped...

• Ipod nano 7th g is not rcognised by computer after itunes update

My ipod nano 7th generation is no longer recognised by my computer after the latest itunes update. Newest software is on my windows 8 computer... Any ideas?

Hello, Arndt262.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your device is not recognized by iTunes, I would recommend the steps in the article below. Start with the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

• TS1372 After the latest iTunes update iTunes no longer sees either of my ipods. Diagnostics says no ipod connected. However my laptop, which is running Window 8.1 does see the ipod.

After the latest iTunes update neither of my iPods are recognized by iTunes, so I am unable to sync. When I run diagnostics it says no device connected. My laptop sees my iPod so I know it is connected. I have tried all of the recommended iTunes fixes and none work. I tried deleting and reinstalling both an older version and the newest version. The older version would not reconize my music libray. Any thouhts?

I tried deleting and reinstalling both an older version and the newest version.
Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

• With Windows Vista, the most recent Itunes update 1/30/2014 has caused Itunes not to work, with a Mscvr80.dll not found error. Uninstalled all Apple programs, and installed fresh Itunes. Same problem. Tried to reinstall using an older install exe nogo

Recent ITunes update has caused ITunes not to work. Tried uninstalling all Apple products and reinstalling fresh. Still doesn't work. Tried reinstalling from an old install.exe. Install went nicely but program won't start as it says it can't open the library file.

Now that I have no way of accessing any of the products I have purchased from ITunes, I will most certainly never use ITunes again for any reason. Why throw good money after bad? I will use another MP3 player that is not as cumbersome or proprietary.
Lesson learned.

• Installed latest itunes update and computer tried to burn a playlist to CD and realized computer no longer recognizes my CD/DVD drive. This is an APPLE Itunes issue. Help!. HPPavillion DV6 64 bit, windows 7

Installed latest itunes update and computer tried to burn a playlist to CD and realized computer no longer recognizes my CD/DVD drive.
