The past few days when i connect my iPod to my computer it gets frozen and wont connect to itunes. my computer doesnt even recognize my iPod is connected but it has to be the Ipod because all my other divices are workin with my computer. what do i do?

Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

The ipod is not a backup/storage device.
You need to copy everything from your old computer to your new one.
The Apple store will do this for you, you can call apple support and they will help you, you can use google.

Next would be to make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since you likely have a hardware problem.

I am not tech savvy, to say the least. But the latest versions of itunes and an upgrade for my ipod touch popped up for an upgrade, so I upgraded both. My Ipod touch will not connect to itunes. It only connects to the computer, nothing else. I have tried everything that I can, but itunes still wont recognize it. I even checked the printers and drivers and it stated that my Ipod is now a digital camera.

It is normal for the computer to recognize the iPod as a camera since thatis how one gets photos and videos off the iPod.

iTunes will not recognize my Nano 6th gen. as a device. It has been recognized in the past and iTunes does recognize my Nano 4th gen. The device connects to the Mac and charges allright. All of the functions on the Nano work but want to modify my music, I'm tired of the same songs etc.

I'm not sure if it charged when I hooked it up to my roommate's computer, but it definately didn't register either. If I put it on the dock it plays so the port is fine, but that still doesn't help me sync it to my computer.

You appear to have a second generation iPod touch, not a third, and those can't be updated past 4.2.1. Apple sold 8GB second generation models at the same time as the third generation ones.

I know this question has been asked a million times before but my pc has crashed and iTunes has now been synced to my daughters iPod and will not recognize my account

Since the family computer crashed and been restored to factory settings my daughter has downloaded iTunes and set it up with her iPod. I cannot sync my iPad with this without losing all my apps ect? How do I set iTunes to two different accounts?

I would think, Twins1995, that if we are having the problem, others are as well. Hopefully, Apple will shortly issue a follow-up software release to fix the problem. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part.
It would be helpful, if there were some kind of work-around in the interim, so we can use our devices. Pretty frustrating when you consider that all of the hardware and software is produced by Apple.

I've been on this ALL day. Neither Windows or iTunes will recognize iPod. I have uninstalled and re-installed iTunes.... I don't know how many times.
iPod is new. Was ok to sync music and photos last week.. but now nothing. Any ideas anybody... this is driving me nuts.
When plugging in iPod - it beeps and then right away says it is ok to disconnect and beeps again... and iPod goes on... and then charges up.
I was skeptical in buying an iPod for the kids... and now am disappointed. Please somebody... change my mind!!!!

I've been having a similar issue with my iPod. My iPod will not play songs. Basically, the song or podcast will appear on screen, but is stuck at 0:00 and will not play.
When I connected my iPod to my computer, it was not recognized by iTunes and it did not appear in My Computer. I checked the Windows Device Manager, and the device did appear there. Strangely enough, the device did appear in My Computer as a removable disk only after I closed out Device Manager. I'm wondering if I need to restore my iPod. How do I do so without iTunes?
