Itunes won't sync from my home computer to my iphone 6

I bought my iphone 6 yesterday.  It has no music on it.  I went home to sync it with my home computer and got this message on itunes:  "The iPhone could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPhone.  To authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store, choose Store > Authorize This Computer."
I don't have any purchased items on my new iPhone.
I then followed their directions and slicked on Store > Authorize This Computer and put in the apple id and then got this message:  "This computer is already authorized.  Including this one, you have 2 computers out of your available 5."
Any ideas on what I need to do to get MY music from my computer to my iPhone 6?
Thanks!

  • Apps won't sync from iTouch to computer.  iTunes recognizes the iTouch and the app content, but the content is grayed out on the computer screen and won't allow me to sync.  My iTouch is version 4.2.1 with 6.8GB  capacity.

I am on vacation and away from my home computer.  I installed iTunes on a computer I'm using at my son's house to enable
me to sync my iTouch, since it has become unstable when I am playing games and continually closes and reverts to the home
    screen.
My son's computer recognizes my iTouch and my apps appear on the screen but they are all grayed out and will not allow me
to sync.  Can anyone help me please?

Your iPod can only be synced with one iTunes library at a time. If you try to add content to it from another computer it will erase the contents of your iPod and replacement it with the contents of the new library.
In regards to the unstableness, have you tried a hard reset to see if that makes a difference?  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • School issued iPad--message that iPad is controlled by another computer.  I need to sync from my home computer.  How would I do this?

school issued iPad2 is controlled by another computer.  I have to download from my home computer.  How do I make this happen?

An iPad is designed to sync or connect with only one computer. Your schoool issue iPad was set up using a school computer most likely and that is the one that will sync wi the pad. Attempting to supync with a different computer will create problems. I suggest not doing that.
    I see two solutions,
    1. Email the docs you need to transfer from your computer to the email account that is on your iPad.
    2. Copy the material from your computer and transfer that to the schools computer. Check with your Information Tech person at your school to see what might be best.

  • My iphone contacts won't sync on my home computer

I sync my iphone at work with the Macbook Pro I use at work. But when I get home, it won't sync with my home Macbook Pro.

And I just tried to sync calendars and that won't work either, same dialog box.  It appears nothing in the "info" section will cross over due to a "sync session in progress."

  • Sync from a new computer to my iPhone 5

I am unable to download content from my Windows 7 iTunes library to my iPhone 5 . I download podcasts to my laptop and no matter how often I sync, they do not appear on my phone. When I first bought my iPhone it was sync'd with a different laptop. How can I get content from my current computer onto my iPhone?

I just answered my own question. In iTunes I set it to back up to this computer, and it said you are connected to another computer and do you want to erase everything and proceed? I said yes, which is probably different from most people would want to do.

  • ITunes set up for a new "home computer" on an iPhone set up on a different computer

I recently bought a new MacBook laptop. I downloaded iTunes and want to set it up as my "home computer", but it has already been set up with my old laptop. How to I change the home computer to my new MacBook, without loosing my music, games, data, etc., so that I can download music and things from my new computer. As of right now, iTunes tells me that I have to "erase" everything from my iPhone and "sync" it to the new iTunes on the Mac. I assume that this will cause me to loose all my progress in games on my phone, and I DO NOT want to loose that. Can anyone help me? Thank you!

Copy everything from your old computer to your new one.

  • I have a song that won't sync from my Mac Book to my iphone no matter what I try. Any suggestions?

I purchased a song from itunes and it downloaded to my Macbook and plays fine but it won't sync to my iphone. After that purchase I bought another song and it synced fine. Anyone know why this might be happening?

Delete and redownload them if doing so is free in your country.

  • I put my music (all my own CDs) from my home computer onto my iPhone.  I would like to upload that music to my office computer.  Not having any luck.  Worried about losing it.

Music from my CDs on my home computer- put that on my iPhone.  Now want to put that on my office computer.  Having trouble, don't want to lose anything.  What should I do?

Best option is to use a secure backup solution on your home computer.  To transfer from iPod to computer you would need to use a 3rd party tool such as TouchCopy (many alternates are available).

  • Purchased itunes music won't sync from phone to computer

I downloaded a preordered album today onto my iphone 5. The songs will show up under the artist name and album but NOT in (either) purchased playlists. I went to put the new album onto my computer from my iphone and it will not back up. I also tryed to go onto itunes via my computer and get the purchased album from my history but it would not give me an option to download it from the cloud.
Has anyone had this problem and found a solution??

i figured it out never mind.

  • ITunes won't sync from Mac to iPhone 6

I have a MacBook Pro using OS X Yosemite 10.10.1.
    I use iTunes 12.1.26.
I recently bought an iPhone 6, 64gb version 8.1.2 and am trying to put the music I have on iTunes on my Mac into my new iPhone 6.
    It's not working.
I connect the two via the USB cable that came with the phone, and the Mac registers that they are connected. While the two are connected I can play songs from my Mac on the iPhone if I have Home Sharing switched on, but that is it. When I try to sync them and transfer songs over, it says that the sync is in progress, and goes through 4 syncing steps in order; however the total time is only about 4 seconds and no music transfers. The total music is about 11gb and the iPhone does register that about that much memory should be used up by a sync. I have pressed every 'sync' button I can find more times than I can count and nothing works.
I have absolutely no idea what to do and no forum that I have been on yet has an explanation.
If anyone has any ideas for how to help me (using basic terms please because I'm not that savvy with computers) I would really appreciate it.

mine will appear to sync then after its complete the display bar showing memory usage  immediately retracts to how it was before syncing. I've tried turning off my phone and re-downloading the latest iTunes, I have a mac book pro. please help I only got a phone with a lot of memory so that I could have music!

  • ITunes won't sync music on new computer

I recently bought a new laptop and copied my entire iTunes library onto it.
I've also registered my device onto this computer.
So I plug my iPhone in, click on my device on iTunes, then go to the music tab and click on Sync..and after syncing is complete I check my phone but nothing has changed. The music that I deselected are still there and the ones I newly selected are not.
I've tried checking the 'Manually manage music and...' option on the summary tab and in this case a message appears warning me that if I continue to sync my "Dictionary" app will be removed from my phone..only I don't have a dictionary app.
But I go ahead and click to continue, and after the sync is complete I check my phone and my music still hasn't synced.
I've tried checking the 'Sync only checked songs...' option on the summary tab and still the same. I've tried checking the two together and it's still the same.
When I try to sync photos sometimes the sync automatically gets cancelled during the first step, or when it doesn't cancel the photos remain unsynced, like my music.
Any help would be much appreciated..I only sync a few songs at a time on my iPhone, basically what I would listen to that day so I've been stuck with the same few songs for a while now and I commute.
    Thanks guys

    Hi HB3207!
I have a couple of suggestions for you to attempt to resolve this issue. First, I would try re-creating your iTunes library following the instructions listed here:
iTunes: How to re-create your iTunes library and playlists
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1451
You may also need to simply try restarting your phone and attempting to sync again after a restart. Information on completing this can be found here:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!

  • New iTunes buys wont sync from phone to computer - Help please!!

    Hi,
When I have tried to sync up my phone to my laptop I have found that some of the music and films that I have downloaded to my phone don't come through to my laptop. Basically my question is if I restore my phone to the previous backup, will I lose everything that I have bought since that last backup? Or is there some way of getting them back from the store if I've already paid for them?
Sorry for being dense but I've had an Iphone for over 3 years now and this is my 1st problem so I've never needed to investigate further! - I'm one of the lucky ones ;0)
    Any help would be great!
    Thanks

If you have Sync Music selected under the Music tab, Sync Movies selected under the Movies tab, sync TV Shows under the TV Shows tab (you aren't manually managing music and video with your iPhone), and you have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, after downloading a song, a movie, a tv show, and a 3rd party app direct with your iPhone, the song, movie, tv show, and 3rd party app will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so.
No iTunes content on your iPhone is included with your iPhone's backup. All iTunes content on your iPhone should be in your iTunes library on your computer. If you are manually managing music and video with your iPhone, then is a manual process in both directions. You must manually transfer music and movies/tv shows from your iPhone to your iTunes library. This will not be done automatically by iTunes for music and videos when manually managing music and videos - manual means manual all the way in this regard.

  • ITunes won't sync all of my songs to my iPhone 4S

When I sync to my iPhone 4S, it won't allow my to manually manage the music. The box can be checked, but other than that, nothing happens. On my phones music section, there are no options, other than voice memos, so I can't drag music to it. When I sync my iTunes, it syncs to iCloud only part of my library, and I am forced to download what I want to permanently reside on my iPhone from the iCloud. However, not all of my library is available. How do I get the rest of my songs there? Supposedly, iMatch was the solution, but it did nothing.

Is the music in question selected to sync?

  • ITunes won't sync all my purchased music to my iPhone 4

The music that was purchased on my iPhone was erased from my phone, but it's still on iTunes. When I try to sync it back to my phone, the playlist "Purchased from my iPhone" is listed is there but none of the music is there. It's not in my library either. I checked the box to sync it but nothing works, and the rest of my music is still on my phone. Please help!

It comes up with a 1428 error message sometimes, and sometimes it says that I have to restore my iPod. I have restored it many times, but it just keeps going in a circle and will not sync my songs back to the iPod.
hmmmm. if you're relentlessly getting a recovery mode message, then you might be having a Windows drive letter confusion. see the following document for troubleshooting suggestions with that:
"iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode - Use iTunes to restore"
