IWeb flyout gallery?

I cant make Slideshow do any of this: Hover over a thumb and the image expands (like the magnify feature on the Dock), or click a thumb which expands to a large image with advance/retreat buttons at left & right edges.  I don't like any of the slideshow templates - need to delete the footer lines, the Play Slideshow button, the audio button. (a blank template would help - just gimme the grid and the advance button or a hover to enlarge).  Are there iWeb plugins for this?  or do I need different software?  Or more likely I have not found existing process. Or maybe these features are called something else? Any help appreciated.

Take the root folder name out of the URLs. For example...

  • Want to show image description in an iweb photo gallery

Is there a way to get the description data field to display for each photo when you make a gallery (or album page)? We took hours to add nice desctiptions for each photo and can't get them to show in the iweb/iphoto gallery.
I'm using 'publish to folder' so that I can host the gallery on my own website.
Also, each photo has the 'title' field showing, not even the file name I've given each photo. So the file name doesn't show either. Is there a way to show the file name?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers.

    bjenrol:
Where are these descriptions entered? If you used the Description field in iPhoto you can use this Applescript to move the descriptions to the title field which will display in the iWeb photo page. Be sure to remove the Å from the script before saving. It's an error. When you're done importing to iWeb you can use the Photos->Batch Change->Title to File Name to get the original file names back in that field.

  • IWeb photo gallery does not work in IE

Does anyone know why iWeb photo gallery does not work in Internet Explorer but does work in Safari, Chrome & Firefox?

What kind of a response are you looking for with a post like that, seriously? Change this or that in your unprovided code? Use this or that gallery, which may be the gallery you're already using. We don't know because you haven't mention specifics, provided any code, or any other relevant information to produce a helpful response. All you've said is you click a link and it's white. Kudos.
We're not mind readers and no one is looking over your shoulder watching what you're doing. Get it together... and when you do, post a link so we can see what you're talking about. jeez.

  • Iweb photo gallery question

I have created an Iweb photo gallery on my website, and I wish to add links to each individual photo so that when a person clicks for the full view of the photo a link will appear somewhere on the page. I want each link to be specific to each photo. I have tried adding captions and making them links, but they don't work, they're un-clickable. Is there any possible way to do this in Iweb?

There are a number of ways you could add ecommerce to your site. I'm not familiar with the option but if you do a search for ecommerce in this forum you'll get several topics on the subject. Roddy has some very good information at this http://www.musicformusicians.com site.

  • Duplicate photos in iWeb photo gallery

A photo gallery in iWeb repeats it's self. The last half of the photo's repeat, then about half of those repeat again. some of the photos are shown 3 or 4 times. This site is important for my business and looks unprofessional. Also I think it slows down the loading time. Can anyone help me resolve this issue? Photos were loaded using iLife 08.
    The site is at;
    http://web.mac.com/g4ken/Site_3/Portfolio.html
    THANKS

Yes, the duplicates do show up in iweb before publishing. I have a splash page set up on another server with a link to this gallery. I am afraid that if I delete and republish that album that it will have a new address and then the splash page will have to be reconfigured. I would have to go pay to have that done. Do you think if I erased it and started over I would get the same web address?
Those photos with out credits were taken by me. The ones with credits are from photographers who are allowing me to use their photos.
    Your help is much appreciated.

  • IWeb photo gallery ... deleted? or not?

Hi there, I'm a new iWeb user.
My problem is that I uploaded a "test album" to see how the .mac web gallery would work for me. At some point I deleted this album (on purpose) but when I went to upload a newer album today I noticed that on my .mac homepage (the one with all the controls on it) this old deleted album is still listed. When I visit the link of this deleted album there is, of course, nothing inside of it. When I look in my iPhoto, under the "Web Gallery" section, the only album that is there is the album I just uploaded today, with 4 pictures in it. The older, deleted, "test album" is not listed in my iPhoto at all. Also, within my actual gallery page it is also not present.
The real problem is that I cannot seem to see how I can delete the link to this deleted "test album" as it appears on my .mac control page/welcome page.
Can anyone help me with this?
    Thank you so much,
    YahYah

Ok, in hunting around for this answer I stumbled into the "iDisk" and voila... there was a folder in there that housed this old "deleted" photo album. We tried the "let's see what happens when I do this..." method, and deleted it. =:D When the iDisk synced, the album was removed from my link list on my .mac control page.
    Yay

  • IWeb photo gallery not working!

Hello everyone! I built my website using iWeb and it has been up and running perfectly for a few months now. But, then I decided to try and update it with photos of artwork. I uploaded all files to my web-host's server, and now the page shows, but not the photo gallery! Any ideas as to what happened? Here is the site & page. My web hosting company is looking at it, but they have yet to discover what the issue is.. Any advice you can provide is most appreciated!

You are missing a number of files from your website.  You can see which are missing by bringing up the Activity window (Command+Option+A) while viewing the Places page in Safari and looking at the list of files in the window.
How are you publishing the site?  With iWeb?  If so then try using the File ➙ Publish Entire Site menu option to see if that will force those missing files to be uploaded.
If that doesn't work you can publish your site to a folder on your hard drive and use a 3rd party FTP client, like the free  Cyberduck, to upload the site files. If you have to continue to use Cyberduck this tutorial may help: #2 - Uploading Only Those Newly Published or Edited Files When Using a 3rd Party FTP Client.

  • Iweb photo gallery -- download option unwanted

I just created my first site using iweb and put a photo gallery on there. I noticed that there is a download option which I DO NOT want on there!! I want to make my photo galleries view ONLY! Is there a way to change the settings??
    Thanks!

No. There is not way to prevent any photo on a web site to not be copied. At the least a visitor can make a screenshot of it.
To make it more difficult for someone to use one of your photos as if it were one of their own put a watermark on the photos. It's not foolproof but will discourage the less sophisticated users from using them.
There are many watermarking applications that can add them in batches. Go to MacUpDate.com and search for "watermark" to find possible candidates.

  • IWeb and Gallery

I have posted movies on gallery and set a password. I have then created an iWeb site and protected it with the save password. One of the items on the site is a movie from my gallery. What I find is that to enter the site the password is needed and the same password is needed twice to access the movie. Is there a more user friendly way to do this?

The answer is in the first and second sentence of your post.
iWeb and the web gallery are different entities.
    Solution:
Remove the password of the webgallery.
Hide the gallery from in the webgallery overview.
It takes some mental juggling but in the end it's what you want.

  • Firefox 3 1.3 and Iweb 2 gallery script problem.

So just like everyone else I downloaded the script to fix the gallery issue with Firefox 3. But now when I look at photos in the gallery it seems to open up a new page for each photo, so if you hit the back button in the browser nothing work unless you hit the back button as many times as photos you looked at. Anyway to fix that so that it doesn't do that? Thanks in advance. Erik

    That is not it.
When you click on a photo; iweb jump to an anchor on the same photo page where a canvas element hold the image to be displayed. And since you masked your URL, you did not see that happen, go to your page (real URL): http://web.mac.com/etomasson/Site/Dance.html
click on the first photo and you see: http://web.mac.com/etomasson/Site/Dance.html#0

  • Galleries in iPhoto/Mobile Me don't show in iWeb's Gallery widget

I have 30+ galleries all visible from the web and showing in iPhoto. None of them show in iWeb.

Are they password protected? If so that's why. Otherwise try deleting the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist.
Are you able to see iPhoto's albums, pics in the Media Browser in iWeb? If not you can try the following: open the iPhoto Library package, move the AlbumData.xml file to the desktop and launch iPhoto. That will rebuild that AlbumData.xml file which is what the Media Browser uses to show the albums, etc. in iPhoto. It probably will rebuild the web gallery list as well.

  • IWeb Mobileme gallery cannot be found

I use iphoto to publish my pictures to my MM gallery this all works a treat and i can view them without a problem. When i want to share these pictures i always used iWeb and then the Mobileme widget, but lately it cannot find any MM galleries the list is blank. There are over 40 in there and it used to work i think it has happened since i put snow leopard on any ideas ?

Are the albums "hidden" or password-protected? If so, try temporarily undoing that and see if it makes the other 40 albums available.
If not, try creating one new MobileMe album in iPhoto, publish it to MobileMe and see if it makes the other 40 albums available.

  • IWeb & MobileMe Gallery ????

Can someone explain to me Apple's strategy or idea behind having the MobileMe "Gallery" functionality in Mobleme and iPhoto, Aperature etc and also having iWeb ? Especially considerng that they publish to different places.
Is there any way to get iWeb to publish to the MobileMe "gallery" instead of iDisk ?
I just don't understand where Apple is going with both "tools". Anyone got any ideas as to what all this means long term? What does Apple have to say about the two disparate environments ?
    TIA,
    Peter

    PeterWor wrote:

Peter ~ I suppose the answer is that the MobileMe "Gallery" functionality in MobileMe, iPhoto, Aperture, etc. is necessary for those who want to simply publish photo galleries without learning a website creation tool such as iWeb. And +"also having iWeb"+ is necessary for those who want to publish web pages that aren't simply photo galleries.
    PeterWor wrote:

It's probably a wise move on Apple's part that they do publish to different places — not all the eggs are in one basket. Also, a photo gallery is just one type of web page and it's reasonable that iPhoto & Aperture can publish the photos in their photo libraries to a special type of web page called a MobileMe Gallery. Plus, the integration is tighter from those apps than it would be from iWeb's indirect access to photos via the Media Browser.
...But I admit that the variety of ways to publish and access MobileMe web pages and Galleries can be confusing at first.
    PeterWor wrote:

No — The Galleries have a special location and structure on iDisk that iPhoto, iMovie and Aperture set up during publishing. iWeb doesn't set up that Gallery environment. iWeb does, however, allow you to embed an existing MobileMe Gallery in your iWeb site — see this video tutorial:

    PeterWor wrote:

I doubt that you could find something written by Apple that would discuss them as "disparate environments". I suspect Apple considers that the different environments it offers are necessary to provide flexibility and choice — but admittedly the result of that can be confusion, especially when first starting to review the different approaches. Some, despite having successfully published their galleries here:
    http://gallery.me.com/membername
...are unaware that they can then control some aspects of it from here:

  • How does deleting photos off of HD affect iWeb & Web Gallery

    Hello,
My MacBook is getting filled with photos. I have already used Time Machine to back them up to an external hard drive, and I am getting ready to delete them from my HD. Here is my concern:
Once I delete the photos from my HD, will they disappear from iWeb and Web Gallery?
I believe so, but would like confirmation. Any help is appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If you delete a photo out of iPhoto that is in a MobileMe gallery create by iPhoto it will be deleted from the online gallery if you every sync the gallery again. These galleries are the most susceptible to loss of photos. So if you have any iPhoto MMe galleries I would not delete those photos from iPhoto.
If you create a web gallery within iWeb the photos used are included in the files that are uploaded to the iWeb site so you can delete them out of iPhoto and off the hard drive.

  • Pictures that are edited are not updated to iweb/web gallery..uses original

Need some help...when i edit a picture and save it to iphoto, the new picture will not upload to iweb or web gallery.. it uses the original picture. Any ideas how to solve this issue?!
    thanks

Try delete the com.apple.iphoto.plist file from the home / library / preferences folder.
    Also, Download BatchMod from
    http://macchampion.com/arbysoft/
And apply it to the iPhoto Library using the settings found here:
