J2EE Email Service Example

Hi..
I am attempting to run the Java Email examples on the J2EE admin screen.
We have added the smtp server parameter.  What configuration is required to make this work?
I will reward points.

Hi,
have you seen <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2e/c00e408230c442e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">this</a> tutorial? It refers to the JavaMail sample that you have bundled in the Web AS. The latter is accessible via HTTP: http://<WebAS_host>:<HTTP_port>/index.html -> J2EE Engine Examples -> JavaMail.
Hope that helps!

  • Problems deploying PL/SQL Web Service example to standalone OC4J

    I have built the PL/SQL Web Service example EMP_FETCHER in the tutorials that come with JDeveloper. When run with the embedded OC4J container, the web service works ok using the autogenerated client. However, while I can then successfully deploy the web service to a standalone OC4j instance running on a separate database server, when I point the client at it, a NoSuchMethodError exception is thrown by oc4j with the following stacktrace;
    at tutorial_jdbc_connection.Emp_fetcher.get_emp(Emp_fetcher.sqlj:43)
    at tutorial_jdbc_connection.__Emp_fetcherSPWrapper.invokeMethod(__Emp_fetcherSPWrapper.java:73)

Looks like I'm missing some support libraries but I'm unsure which ones they are, and why they wouldn't be part of a standard OC4J installation.
I've tried including the SQLJ runtime and Oracle JDBC library support in the deployment and redeploying but the same error persists.
    Any assistance would be appreciated

    Michael

You have an old version of java installed. That is what "java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError" tells.

  • J2EE Mail Service

    Hi,
Has anyone tried sending email by calling the J2EE Mail service? How can I configure the deployment descriptor for my smtp host, etc. I created the bean for sending email according to the mailer/confirmation sample from java.sun.com but when it comes to configuration of Resource Ref, I am lost. How can I do it in 9iAS Rel 2? From 9i JDeveloper, it does seems to understand the tag <mail-configuration>.....</mail-configuration>.
    Thanks.

    hi ken
can you please copy the deployment ( only related to mail configuration) descriptors and the client code which accesses the mailer.

  • Cannot run "Publish PL/SQL as a Web Service" example

    Hello!
I have Oracle 8.1.7 AS and 9i JDeveloper running on Windows 2000. I'm trying to run the "Publish PL/SQL as a Web Service" example, but am encountering errors I believe are related to my hostname/IP address/DNS entry. Of course, I could be wrong.
    Here is some information:
    ==========================================================
    1. I was able to successfully initialize Containers for J2EE. However, when I was trying to deploy the PL/SQL example, it inserted this information:
    C:\oracle\jdev9i\j2ee\home>C:\oracle\jdev9i\jdk\bin\java.exe -jar C:\oracle\jdev9i\j2ee\home\oc4j.jar
    Node started with id=-1753996682
    Oracle9iAS (9.0.3.0.0) Containers for J2EE initialized
Error updating application PLSQL-PLSQL-WS: Error loading web-app 'WebServices' at
    C:\oracle\jdev9i\j2ee\home\applications\PLSQL-PLSQL-WS\WebServices:
    resource-ref 'jdbc/testCoreDS' referenced from resource-ref-mapping not found
    ==========================================================
    2. I went through the instructions from the website, and when I began the deployment process it generated this information:
    ---- Deployment started. ---- Jan 17, 2003 1:20:27 PM
Wrote WAR file to C:\oracle\jdev9i\jdev\plsql-webexample\Project1\WebSe[i]Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

Couple of suggestions despite your post being cut off with what might be useful information (please post the rest if these suggestions don't help):
    1. There are some bugs with Personal Oracle and Web services, notably Oracle9i Personal that may apply also to 8.1.7. If you have a MetaLink account it is logged as bug 2591731.
    2. As you are using your local machine, make sure your proxies are turned off (Tools-Preferences Web Browser/Proxy)
    3. I've noticed problems when folks use a JDK with a version lower than 1.3.1_02 to run OC4J - it is certified only with 1.3.1_02 or higher. If you are using the built-in JDeveloper JDK to start up OC4J (e.g. <Jdev_home>\jdk\bin\java.exe) you should be fine. But if you are just typing in java -jar oc4j.jar it is worth checking. Check the your default JDK version by typing in: java -version. If it is lower, then download a new version from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/download.html.
    4. For level setting it is best to be using build 1035 of JDeveloper, the current production release and either the OC4J embedded in it or the stand-alone version here on OTN.
Hope these point in the right direction.
    Mike.

  • HT1296 Does anyone uses optonline as their email service provider?

If anyone uses optonline as their email service provider, do you have a problem with your MacBook Pro synching emails with the Optimum server?  For example, when I delete an email from my inbox on my MAC Book, it does not delete the email in the inbox on the server.  I just bought an iPhone:  when everything synch's through iCloud, all the messages from the Optimum server are on my iPhone versus the messages from the inbox on my MacBook. Anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks very much

  • JAX-RPC vs OC4J J2Ee web service

    Hi,
Currently we use Oracle10G 10.0.3 developer preview edition. we deployed same web service on both JAX-RPC platfrom and OC4J J2EE web service platfrom (RPC encoding style). We found that old platform seems to perform better than JAx-RPC platfrom with regard to serialization and de-serialzation. We also did the test on Doc/literal style in JAX-RPC platfrom and its performance is not as good as the one deployed on old platform. We understand JAX-RPC is new implementation and Oracle10.0.3 is under developer preview edition and so it may not be optimized. We have following questions
    1. Is this a known issue in JAX-RPC platform?
    2. Is there anyway to optimize JAX-RPC web service? Like using different XMl parser (instead of Oracle XML parser)
    3. When is the final release of 10.0.3 expected?
    4. Will Oracle be supporting old web service platfrom (OC4J J2EE web service platform)? If so how long?
    Thanks and regards

  • HT201320 Does my email service provider have to provide the ability for me to create an IMAP email account in order for me to create Sub-folders within Apple Mail?

Hi, Apple Mail provides a function to create sub-folders within my mailbox so that I can group emails of similar subjects or from the same sender. My service provider only provides POP email protocol and the New Folder button does not appear in my Apple Mail account for that service provider. Icloud provides the opportunity for the iPad user to select between POP and IMAP. I can select IMAP and the New Folder button appears allowing me to create sub-folders within the icloud email account. Does this mean I cannot create sub-folders in my email account unless my service provider provides customers with the option of creating an IMAP email account?
This appears to be a problem for quite a few Apple Mail users, but service providers appear reticent to provide a response other than 'use Microsoft Exchange / Hotmail, Google GMail, or some other third party email service provider'. This is why I have chosen icloud as my email service provider. It is Apple and therefore Apple supports it. I have been a Telstra customer for over 15 years and they informed me today, strongly, that they support their own products and services, not Apple products, even though Telstra sell them. When I asked the Telstra Customer Support Manager whether they support Telstra customers, I was informed 'no, because the Telstra customer is not a Telstra product or service'. I have since cancelled my Telstra email account and am in the process of cancelling all of my Telstra services.

Yes. That is what it means. You need an IMAP account in order to create sub folders on the iPad.

  • Error while returning complex data type in a J2EE web service

    Hello,
I am implementing J2EE web service which returns array of custom class object.
I have implemented serializable interface to custom class, and also to session bean.
But it gives the following error:
Serializing object [Lcom.ltitl.j2ee.ejb.classes.ProjectDetails;@2a2289 fails. Nested message: XML Serialization Error. Object of Class [com.ltitl.j2ee.ejb.classes.ProjectDetails] does not have property [ObjId] of type [java.lang.Integer]. Check if the right object is passed to the serialization routine..
As error stated about some property ObjId..I tried including such property in my class. But now it gave exception while deploying stating that ObjId already defined.
Also I want to return multiple arrays of complex custom classes. i tried using vectors but didnt work. What is the method to return arrays of complex custom classes.
    Please help..
    Abhijeet

Trying to create a web service that returns a Collection doesn't seem to be possible in Netweaver. The reason for this is that languages other than Java have difficulty in mapping Collections, amongst others, to their own native equivalents.
There is a discussion on the subject here you may find useful:
    http://forum.capescience.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=webservices&Number=147&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&vc=1
The short answer is to use object Arrays instead, or a custom class that contains an array of each type of object you would expect to find in your Vector
    Hope this helps

Ah, well, then the notes are probably gone. Did you save any of the email from that account on your computer? The notes might be there if you did.
