J2EE SP12 Problem

Hi.. i'm currently applying SP12 to my J2EE server, it stuck at SDA Deployment phase, the status i can see in callSDMvisapinst.log is successfull.
If i stop the sapinst and restart again, the sapinst will tell me that SDM already running. Then i have to restart my server.
Seem All the SDA deployed, but the SDM process haging.
Anyway to fix this ? edit control file to skip the SDA deployment ?

Hi Jarnail,
have you checked this thread and tried the solutions proposed there?
Error in Applying the SP12 on Ep6.0
Hope this helps,
Robert

  • Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 SP3 service-j2ee threads problem

    Hi,
    Sorry my english.
I'm an intermediate Java programmer and a newbie in
    the Sun's web servers world.
I'm doing an evaluation of an web applicaction
written in Java Servlets that is
supposed to have a leaking threads problem. We use
    SunOS 5.9 (... sun4u sparc SUNW,UltraAX-i2) and
JVM 1.5 Update 4 (the problem is presented too
in SunOS 5.8 and JVM 1.4.2_04).
We have seen, thanks to 'prstat' (PROCESS/NLWP) a
increasing thread's growing in one of the process
that correspond to our web server instance (I'm sure I'm
looking the right process). I have checkout the source
code and it seems like the app doesn't have threads
problems. I have used the Netbeans Profiler and I see a
high number of threads called service-j2ee-x that grows
in congestion moments and never disappear.
Anybody could help me with suggestions?
    Thank you very much.

    Elvin,
Thankyou, yes I am unfamiliar with debugging Java apps. I got the web server Java stack trace and I have passed this on to the developer.
The web server finally closes the socket connection after the total connections queued exceeds 4096.
There are several hundred entries like this... waiting for monitor entry.. could be a deadlock somewhere?

  • J2ee installation problem on windows ME

I have downloaded the j2sdkee1.3 and have set all of the variables but when I type in j2ee -verbose or j2ee.bat -verbose ( as I have read about in peoples past problems ). I get the lines
    out of environment space *2
    syntax error * 3
exception in thread 'main' java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: / appletviewer
do I need to be in a specific directory to do this command?
I have tried many things and read a lot of the examples that are posted here but I have found nothing to help so far, please help,
    Anthony.

Thanx. I have done that and when I type the j2ee.bat -verbose now I get a screen that comes up and offers me a load of options, does this mean that the program has worked. Deploytool does the same and says that you can put -ui to get a userInterface but nothing happens when I type the command.
P.S. msdos prompt can sometimes print so much information that it goes of the screen. How can I look at this information ( cause there is no scrollbar like Im use to ). Also is there a copy like ctrl 'c' so that I can print out the information into here for example?

  • Converter sample from J2EE Tutorial problem

    Hello all,
I have built the ConvertApp using the J2EE as shown in the J2EE (which I highly recommend by the way --on-line or book version), but am getting the following error:
    (from Verifier log file):
         FAILED TESTS :
         Test Name : tests.web.elements.WebEjbReferencesElement
Test Assertion : Web archive references to other beans homes test
Test Description : Error: Class [ ConverterHome ] not found in WEB-INF/classes or WEB-INF/lib.
    For [ /ConverterWAR ]
Error: class [ ConverterHome ] cannot be found within this jar [ ConverterWAR ].
Error: Class [ Converter ] not found in WEB-INF/classes or WEB-INF/lib.
    For [ /ConverterWAR ]
Error: class [ Converter ] cannot be found within this jar [ ConverterWAR ].
    ======
I'm running Windows 2K (I did see a similar problem someone was having under '98) and I know this tutorial works under W2K. I also have confirmed all my environmental variables are correct.
I am noticing that under the \j2eetutorial\examples\src\ejb\converter directory that I have a number of temp files (intermediate?). Specifically, if I use the Deploytool and select the ConverterApp in the tree view, I see three filenames that appear in the Contents window under the META-INF section:
    app-client-ic.jar
    ejb-jar-ic.jar
    war-ic.war
Well, the temp files look like this (for example):
    app-client-temp21282.jar
    ejb_temp21276.jar
    web_temp21293.war
I don't know if this means anything or not, as I seem to be getting the .ear, .war and .jar files when I deploy the ConverterApp without a problem.
If I try to run the Client from the \j2eetutorial\examples\src\ejb\converter directory using the runclient command, I get the following:
    Application threw an exception:java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: ConverterHome
The tutorial has a specific reference to this (p.43 in book) indicating a problem in the ConverterApp.jar file. I've undeployed, deleted ear, war, jar and temp files, and recompiled with ant (twice), thinking I must have skipped a step somewhere, but to no avail.
Both these problems look suspiciously like environment or path issues, but I cannot see anything obviously wrong. I confirmed that I do have a ConverterHome.class file in the C:\j2eetutorial\examples\build\ejb\converter directory too.
Has anyone seen this before who can share how to fix the issue?
    Thanks for the help!
    Jon

I have the same problem when trying to run 'Converter' example on Sun Deployment tool.
When I tried to use verifier for the ConverterApp I got the following message
"Error: Class [ ConverterHome ] not found in WEB-INF/classes or WEB-INF/lib.
Error: class [ Converter ] cannot be found within this jar [ ConverterWAR ]."
When I tried to run the client app using the runclient command I got the
    following message
"C:\j2eeDeployPractice\src\ejb\converter\runclient -client converter.ear -name converterClient -testauth
No application client desriptors defined for: converterClient"
Note: I was able to run the web client successfully when
    using this URL: "http://localhost:8000/converter/index.jsp"
Any idea how to fix those error message is grealy appreciated.

    Deploy with SDM
    ==> Host is : epl
    ==> Port is : 50018
    Pls help me...
SDM node not started and it is only red color.
    regards
    BHI

I assume you are working on Windows. If not use the appropriate UNIX commands to stop and start SAP (stopsap j2ee; startsap).
On Windows go to your management console and stop the Instance 00. Restart the instance again. After startup look in the process list to make sure SDM is running correctly and the node should be green. If not take a look at your startup logs to identify the problem.

  • J2ee Start problem

I am running win98 I have problem starting the j2ee server whenever i give the command c:\j2ee -verbose i get messages like - Syntax erro, out of environmental space, syntax error and likewise, i set my Paths in autoexec.bat as JAVA_HOME = C:\JDK1.3 AND J2EE_HOME=C:\J2SDKEE, is there anybody who can solve my problem...

Assuming your PATH and CLASSPATH are fine....Try to increase your dos environment space. Right Click on MS-DOS icon or Right click on your DOS console and click "properties". On the "memory" tab increase the value of "initial environment" field to maximum. This should solve your problem.

  • Struts framework & J2EE deploytool problem

When creating a new application in the J2EE deploytool with the example WAR file "struts-example.war" from the struts framework i can view this at "http://localhost:8000/example/" with no problem. However, when creating my own WAR file of the build struts framework example i get after deployment and calling "http://localhost:8000/example/" the following:
"javax.servlet.ServletException: Cannot find message resources under key org.apache.struts.action.MESSAGE"
The WAR and EAR configs look exactly alike in the J2EE deploytool.
What bugging me is i can not find the problem.
    Please inform
    Thanbks

Thank you very much for the response.
As you mentioned I put the "ApplicationResources.properties" file in the classes directory, this gives me the same error.
However, i am using struts 1.1 if it matters and in web.xml the following is defined:
    <init-param>
    <param-name>config</param-name>
    <param-value>/WEB-INF/struts-config.xml</param-value>
    </init-param>
    and in struts-config.xml :
    <message-resources
    parameter="org.apache.struts.webapp.example.ApplicationResources"/>
This is the directory where the "ApplicationResources.properties" also excists.
As mentioned the example war coming with the framework works fine, so i assume it is not related to any envioronment vars.
It is probably clear that i am new to all this. My objective is to determine whether my exising framework with a servlet session controlling usecase can be integrated with the strutsframework.
I thank you for your time

  • JDev - J2EE Deployment Problem

See Infrastructure Serrver is down and Re: Lov values filtered by the value selected in other LOV for related discussions.
Here is a cut-and-paste of the important part:
When JDeveloper deploys to a remote OC4J, JDeveloper must use client-side classes to communicate with the server-side administrative objects via RMI. Since communication over RMI uses object serialization to send object instances across the wire, if there is a difference in version in the client-side objects and the server-side objects, there are likely to be deploy-time problems. The incompatibility would be due to implementation decisions made by the OC4J development team.
By default, JDeveloper uses the client-side OC4J classes that ship with JDeveloper. However, if you need to deploy to a different version of OC4J than what ships with JDeveloper, you can tell JDeveloper to use a different set of client-side classes when defining an OC4J connection in the JDeveloper connection manager. On step 3 of the Connection Wizard, there is a field labeled "Local Directory Where admin.jar for Oracle9iAS is Installed". Point that to the OC4J 1.0.2.2 directory containing admin.jar, and you should then be able to deploy from JDev 9i (9.0.2) production to OC4J 1.0.2.2.
There are a few other less common causes for hanging at deploy-time. Let's say you've specified a target server URL of "ormi://myserver".
    1) Try specifying the full host name instead of the abbreviated name -- works around problems with hostname resolution.
    2) Try specifying the IP address of the target server instead of the hostname -- works around problems with DNS lookups.
    3) Try specifying "http:ormi://myserver" as the URL instead -- works around problems with a proxy server that is between the JDeveloper machine and the server (by using HTTP tunnelling).
    Hope that helps.

  • SUN One & J2EE Installation Problems

Every time I run the setup program for Sun One and J2EE I get the following error message before setup even get's going (ie when setup.exe hides the command prompt it returns with the following error message:)
"Error writing native components to disk. Aborting wizard"
    I'm running WinXP Pro ..
I've asked around for a solution to this problem. At the moment my last resort solution is to do a format of my machine and try again =) because all my mates have had no bother so far.
If anyone could give me a hint as to what's wrong I'd be utterly grateful.
    Regards,
    Shaun

As wierd as it sounds, one of the things that will trigger this behaviour is if you have a file called Documents on the drive where your %USERPROFILE% directory is. For instance, if %USERPROFILE% is c:\documents and settings\username, the existance of c:\Documents will break native toolkit bootstrap process.
Workaround is to temporarily rename the file and run the installation...

  • Sp12 problems on 4.5.1

I downloaded the latest service pack for 4.5.1, sp12 (we had been using

following exception occurs. We're on NT and this happens whether I replace
wlntio.dll or not (as described for using the perf pack with sp12) If I
switch back to sp11 on the server, then all is fine. Our client is IE5.0 on

The issue you are mentioning is a regression brought by the service pack 12.
We are aware of 2 serious issues with this service pack, one of them is the
one you described. That's why, we will release the service pack 13 most
likely before the end of this week.

  • J2E instace problem

    Hi,
I  have WebAS SP7 installation on my machine. When I tried to deploy my (webdynpro)application from the IDE its showing deployment excption.
The problem is SDM is pointed to some other machine. In the exception its showing that SDM host not found.
But in the preferences I have given my system name correctly (INLD50031716).But some how it is looking for some other SDM host(INLL50032636).
After that I have tried to uninstall the engine. While uninstallation it is showing the following  error
    "WARNING 2004-09-11 19:10:03
<html>You entered the instance number 0 on host inld50031716 for the JC instance.<p>In the SAP system J2E, an JC instance exists already with the instance number 00 on host inll50032636.</html>"
I have never tried to create another instance on my machine. When i open J2EE window in the netweaver studio,
the host column is pointing to INLL50032636.Ideally it should point to my local machine (i.e) INLD50031716.
From where the IDE is picking these J2EE information?
Please let me know the solution.
    Thanks & Regards
    Anilkumar

    Hi Anil
Try pinging both the addresses INLD50031716 and INLL50032636. There could be a possibility that both the machine names resolve to the same IP address . Try resolving that issue first
